Emma Watson Felt ‘Schizophrenic’ Shooting ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’

‘I was hanging in rags when we finished shooting,’ actress says of making last two films. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Watson in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” Photo: Warner Bros. The shoot for both “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” films stretched on for almost a year and a half, and the entire time Emma Watson was crisscrossing the Atlantic playing two very different parts. In London’s Leavesden Studios, she was Hermione Granger, teen witch. In Providence, Rhode Island, she was just another Brown University student with a massive, Ivy League workload. And slipping in and out of each of these roles was no easy task.

Sarah Palin Drops The H-Bomb: ‘Barack Hussein Obama’ (VIDEO)

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made headlines for suggesting in a TV interview she'd run for president in 2012 “if nobody else were to step up,” but little noticed in that segment was the one-time vice presidential nominee dropping President Obama's middle name. Palin (R) managed to suggest Obama has a shady past and use his middle name — as his critics often did during the 2008 campaign — all in one quick hit with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren. “Funny, Greta, we are learning more about Christine O'Donnell and her college years and her teenage years and her financial dealings than anybody ever even bothered to ask about Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate and now as our president,” Palin said. Palin added later that it is “fair to dig in somebody's past.” She said that if the “lamestream media” did do that digging voters would “find out their associates and beliefs and what formed their beliefs.” It's certainly not the first time Palin has cracked about Obama's past, but we couldn't find any references to her using his middle name. Who can forget that Palin was the candidate to insist that Obama doesn't see America in the same way as she and Sen. John McCain. added by: TimALoftis

John Legend Challenges Students To Re-Imagine Financial Aid

Singer visited Howard University to launch the $10,000 Get Schooled: College Affordability Challenge. By Alexandra Bradshaw John Legend Photo: MTV Grammy-winning singer John Legend surprised a class at Howard University last week, when he showed up to help kick off the Get Schooled: College Affordability Challenge , calling on current and aspiring college students to propose innovative digital tools to simplify the process of finding funding for school. The singer also became the class’ guest teacher for the day for an upcoming episode of mtvU’s “Stand In.” “Too many of our people are still living in consistent poverty, living in a country where opportunities are not equal,” Legend told the class. “Educational inequality is the reality that where a child is born, what color that child is and/or how much money that child’s parents make determine the quality of his or her education and life prospects. That’s not just, that’s not fair, that’s not right.” Legend — whose new album with the Roots, Wake Up!, is out on Tuesday — spoke of his journey toward obtaining a degree with honors from University of Pennsylvania. He praised past teachers who provided him with the support and guidance to receive a scholarship to UPenn and explained how vital scholarships were to his ability to complete college. “I was one of the lucky ones,” he said. “Too many other kids don’t have those same opportunities today.” Studies have shown that upwards of 2 million college students don’t apply for financial aid that is available to them each year, and that almost two thirds of students surveyed find the process of applying for financial aid difficult and time consuming. In response to these trends, MTV and the College Board Advocacy and Policy Center partnered to launch the Get Schooled: College Affordability Challenge. “They’re calling on you guys and college students nationwide to re-imagine the financial aid process,” Legend explained as he announced the contest. Students nationwide are encouraged to submit ideas for a digital tool that would connect their peers with more money for school at GetSchooled.MTV.com . The grand-prize winner will receive $10,000 and the opportunity to work with world-class design firm frog design to bring their tool to life. Applications are being accepted until December 17, 2010. Go to GetSchooled.com for resources on college completion and to watch the “Get Schooled: You Have a Right” special, featuring President Barack Obama, LeBron James and Kelly Clarkson. CNN: What Did Kiran Chetry Do That Made John Roberts Snap at Her on the Air?

Take a quick break from speculating about the outcome of the elections this November. There is a new topic that is causing quite a bit of speculation: just what did Kiran Chetry of CNN’s American Morning do last Wednesday that caused co-host John Roberts to pause in the middle of introducing guest David Axelrod and snap at her in a fit of extreme irritability? Almost as funny watching it on TV was the fact that the moment was officially recorded in CNN’s transcripts : DAVID AXELROD, SENIOR ADVISER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA: Thank you for having me. ROBERTS: Let me ask you first of all, David, before we get into the — excuse me. You would mind not doing that while I’m talking? Thank you. I appreciate that. If you don’t mind. David if, I could just Terry Jones and this Quran burning that is planned for September 11th, what does the president think about that? Does the president — is he as concerned about it as other members of his administration are? That ire was aimed at Chetry, not Axelrod. So what was Kiran Chetry doing that so irritated Roberts? So far no reporting on this mystery from CNN although Mediate described the scene: As Roberts introduced Pres. Obama’s senior adviser, he seemed distracted. “Let me ask you first of all,” pause, smile, restart. “Let me ask you first of all, David, if I could, before we get into the…” Full stop. Then, Roberts turned to where Chetry was sitting next to him (she had been on camera earlier in the segment), and said, with Axelrod still in the double-box shot: “Would you mind not doing that while I’m talking? Thank you, I appreciate that.” Then, added for emphasis and sarcasm, “If you don’t mind.” So, Dear Readers, what do YOU think Kiran Chetry did that set off John Roberts? Here are some possible Chetry actions that could have set off the conniption fit: 1. She was applying lipstick or makeup. 2. She was giving Roberts the Finger. 3. She was trying to cause Roberts to laugh by crossing her eyes. 4. She was grinding her teeth. 5. Polishing her nails. Yes, these are all possibilities but my favorite would be: 6. She held up a copy of American Morning’s incredibly low ratings . The good news for CNN here is that this is a great opportunity to boost American Morning’s basement ratings. They have the rest of today and all weekend to promo this incident on the Situation Room, Anderson Cooper 360, both John and Larry King, and Reliable Sources with a promise to reveal the tape on American Morning Monday of Chetry’s actions that set off the rage in Roberts. Although that show’s ratings will be doomed to sink again, they will at least temporarily enjoy a boost as viewers tune in to find out why John Roberts was not able to keep his anger in check.

The Oxymoron of Campus Tolerance

So at Palm Beach State College last week, an administrator kicked the conservative group, Young Americans for Freedom, out of some event. The ejector, Olivia Morris Ford, claims she didn’t recall giving the scamps permission to be there. But the group claims Olivia had responded, and there’s evidence: an e-mail from student Christina Beattie to Olivia, and Beattie’s phone log showing the call from Olivia. So it looks like Ms. Morris Ford should lady up and tell the truth. Something tells me, she won’t. Check out the video of the scrape. Hmmm…I don’t think she cares if she gave them permission or not. That’s quite a reaction from someone working at a place where open-mindedness trumps oxygen. Here’s the real point: that lady knew she could bully those kids because her rudeness fell into the “No worries, they’re conservatives!” category. If they were Vegan Nudists for Obama, she would have been fine. But she didn’t like their views, so she kicked ‘em out. And she got away with it. Hey, no worries, they’re conservatives! Anyway, I’m not into student groups, unless they involve a Twister mat and a jar of Nivea. It’s a leftover reflex from my time at Berkeley, where each day I endured gauntlets of sloppy card tables manned by angry progressives with their hacky sacks and halitosis. They would hang out for hours doing nothing but cataloguing the evils of a society that allowed them to hang out for hours cataloguing the evils of a society. But no one kicked them out, because their pamphlets never questioned left-wing lunacy. I’m sure if they did, someone like Olivia Morris Ford would call security. After all, there is only so much speaking truth to power, the left can take. I.e. none. And if you disagree with me, you’re a racist homophobic Islamophobic necrophobe. Crossposted at Big Hollywood

Crickets Chirp at Palm Beach Post Over Student Conservative Club Kicked Out of Local College Event

EEK! There is a conservative student group at our sacred campus club rush. Remove them immediately! Such was the attitude of Palm Beach State College administrator Olivia Ford-Morris at the sight of a Young Americans for Freedom table. You can see and hear the extreme urgency in the attitude and voice of Ms Ford-Morris accompanied by campus security guards in this video as she demands the students at the YAF table “Pull it up!” Although Ford-Morris claimed she didn’t remember receiving either an e-mail or a phone call from YAF about getting a table for club rush, evidence is now contradicting that claim (below the fold). So this is obviously a great story of campus censorship that the Palm Beach Post would love to cover since it happened locally? Wrong. The only comment from the Palm Beach Post on this incident is the sound of crickets chirping. To get information on what happened at Palm Beach State College you would need to check sites on the blogosphere such as Orlando Political Press : (Lake Worth, FL) On Tuesday September 7, 2010 at around 11:00am one Palm Beach State College (PBSC) student and two Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) members, state chairman Daniel P. Diaz and state vice chairman Eddie Shaffer, were shut down and had campus police called on them after tabling and recruiting during club rush at the College. The PBSC student, Christina Beattie, had received prior permission from college administrator Olivia Ford-Morris to promote her organization on campus via telephone and email communication. On the day of club rush, officials approached the group and after seeing information about the organization and its ideals criticizing Barack Obama’s economic policy. Ms. Ford-Morris was visibly disturbed by the material presented, published by the Heritage Foundation, criticizing President Obama’s administration. College officials then called the campus police to assure the group left campus. Ms. Ford-Morris denied having ever talked to Ms. Beattie about giving permission to the organization to be a part of PBSC club rush. “I was shocked and offended by her dishonesty. She outright denied giving me permission to table at Club Rush simply because she disagreed with my beliefs! The fact is, she was using her administrative power to silence the conservative opposition.” said Christina Beattie. And as the Palm Beach Post continues sleeping, more evidence has been revealed that college administrator Morris-Ford was somewhat less than honest (to put it politely) in her claim about receiving no communications from the YAF concerning attendance at campus rush. Here is the Heritage Foundation presenting the evidence contradicting Morris-Ford in this story which the snoozing Palm Beach Post neglects to cover in its own backyard: A conservative student in Florida says he has the evidence that implicates a public college administrator who last week ordered members of Young Americans for Freedom to leave a campus event after they displayed Heritage Foundation research papers. Palm Beach State College activities director Olivia Morris-Ford, a Facebook fan of President Barack Obama and filmmaker Michael Moore , booted the conservative students from a rush event. Morris-Ford claimed they didn’t have permission to be on campus. Her assertion stands in conflict with evidence YAF state chairman Daniel Diaz shared with Heritage. Diaz presented both a June 21 e-mail from student Christina Beattie to Morris-Ford requesting permission to be at the event and Beattie’s phone log from June 23, which shows a call from Morris-Ford. Beattie said Morris-Ford approved the request on that call. Meanwhile, as this story unfolds, the crickets continue to serenade the Palm Beach Post. Chirp! Chirp! Chirp
