(Not Quite as) Fat Joe: Rapper Drops 160 Pounds!

Rapper Fat Joe’s new single is called “Drop a Body.” That’s appropriate, since he pretty much has. The hip-hopper, best known for his #1 single “Lean Back” with Remy Ma, recently dropped 88 pounds. That’s on top of 72 he had already shed from his peak weight of 425 (you can see how he got his name). Joe is now down to a respectable 265! Fat Joe now and just three short years ago . The reason is simple: “I can’t leave my daughter behind,” he says of of 5-year-old Azaryah. “I want to be here for her; I don’t want to die on her.” Joe says he dropped the weight over the past nine months by working out two hours a day with a trainer, and by sticking to healthier foods. After seven of his friends in their 30s passed away last year due to heart attacks, Fat Joe turned around his life. But will he change his name? “They’re all trying to alter my name,” he laughed, “but I can’t see myself as anything else … I think I gotta ask Diddy what my new name is.” [Photos: WENN.com]

Gay Rights Organizations Demand Apology, Retraction from Tracy Morgan

Tracy Morgan may be encouraged to say outrageous things on 30 Rock , but the actor’s real-life rant in Nashville last week has landed him in trouble with multiple gay rights groups. A week after the comedian took the stage at the Ryman Auditorium and went off on homosexuals – saying he’d stab his son if he turned out to be gay, among other scathing remarks – the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the Human Rights Campaign have both issued statements. In the first, the President of GLADD writes: “We call on him to remove these violently anti-gay remarks from his show and send a strong message that anti-gay violence is not something to joke about.” Echoes the Human Rights Campaign: “Hateful remarks that mock youth suicides and the very real emotional and sometimes physical bullying LGBT kids face on a daily basis have no place in a comedy routine. “If these allegations are true, Tracy Morgan must immediately accept responsibility and apologize.” Do you think Morgan crossed a line with this routine? Mary Harvey: Still on the Attack!

It’s like walking around in my life, and I’m not alive in my life. So Mary Harvey profoundly stated to Jane Velez-Mitchell during an interview on HLN this week, as Steve Harvey’s former lover was asked why she waited so many years to lash out against her husband . The bitter ex-wife was so rattled by the simple question that she actually apologized to the host for her rambling response, saying she was under a lot of stress. She also complained about her lack of “access” to her son, saying the court gave the comedian custody because Steve said she was a “nobody.” Which either means the judge handling the case was the most unprofessional, star struck man to ever don a robe; or there is A LOT Mary isn’t telling us… Mary Harvey on HLN

Chelsea Handler referred to Angelina Jolie by a few very ugly words this weekend during a stand-up routine in New Jersey. Addressing the controversy on her talk show last night, the comedian said she had no regrets over bashing the actress, but she did have a response for those that assumed the insults were a result of Handler’s friendship with Jennifer Aniston. “I’ve been making fun of Angelina Jolie since she made out with her brother!” Handler said, bring up Jolie’s awkward kiss with James Haven at the 2000 Oscars. Are you on Team Chelsea or Team Angelina? Has Handler, who is clearly dating 50 Cent , learned anything from this experience? Only that she may need fresh material. “[I need] to write some new jokes,” she said.
