Joe Stangni Pulls an Anthony Weiner, Tweets Underwear Pic to Woman

Anthony Weiner likely wanted to set a good example for folks during his time in office. But we doubt this is what he had in mind, Joe Stangni, a Louisiana Councilman, has been caught in a Twitter scandal after The New Orleans Times-Picayune published a photo he sent of himself in his underwear to a town employee. Explained the politician after this picture leaked: “I had an inappropriate but consensual relationship with an adult female and we exchanged improper electronic communications which ended in 2009. I did not use any government computer or city issued equipment to send or receive these communications.” Following the guidelines of Famous Person Apology 101, Stangi invoked a Higher Power in his statement, adding: “I asked for God’s mercy and forgiveness. I apologized to my wife and family and asked for their forgiveness as well. My actions and bad judgment had nothing to do with my duties and responsibilities as a public official. They were private acts, but I take full responsibility for my irresponsible behavior. This matter has been a painful experience for my family and I pray that everyone will allow our family to continue to heal. I am sorry.” The most embarrassing part of all this? At least Weiner had something to show off .

‘American Idol’ Vs. ‘Platinum Hit’: Kara DioGuardi Compares

‘Idol’ alum says she’s ‘way more myself’ on new songwriting reality competition. By Jim Cantiello Kara DioGuardi on “Platinum Hits” Photo: Bravo TV Kara DioGuardi is well aware of what you think about her, thank you very much. The former “American Idol” judge — who was already a major name in the songwriting community before she sat next to Simon, Randy, Paula and Ellen — can’t go a day without viewers approaching her to speak their mind. “People actually apologize to me,” the good-natured DioGuardi told MTV News on Wednesday morning (June 15). “They’ll go, ‘I didn’t even know you were in the music business. We thought you were some random girl they pulled off of Hollywood Boulevard that looked like Paula Abdul.’ ” Kara’s the first to acknowledge that she and live TV went together like chocolate and an onion, to paraphrase an infamous Cowell barb. Even worse, “It may have sent the message ‘Is she still writing? Does she have time to write?’ ” DioGuardi said before setting the record straight. “I was writing [new music] before [‘Idol’] shows. I co-wrote [Cobra Starship’s] ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ before a show, like two hours before! I was like, ‘We gotta bang this out. I got hair and makeup,’ ” DioGuardi recalled. “Don’t give your day job up. Always gotta keep the day job.” With Bravo’s “Platinum Hit,” a slick new songwriting reality competition that DioGuardi judges alongside host Jewel and celeb guests, Kara finally found a way to turn her day job into her TV job. Bonus: She can have a second take in the event of an “Idol”-esque gaffe, like calling Studio 54 “Studio 57” or forgetting how to count. “I’m way more myself,” DioGuardi said. “After nine hours of filming, you start to forget that you’re on a TV show, and then the New York part of me really comes out. I say, ‘Look, man. … Listen, bitch!’ ” she joked. Instead of banging on tables, calling contestants “sweetie” and raving about “artistry” the way she did on “Idol,” DioGuardi’s taking a different approach with her songwriting prot

American Idol Results: The End of the Road For …

Well? Who among American Idol ‘s magnificent seven is no longer with us? Did someone we expected to stick around a lot longer get the boot? Or did America send one of the guys many people had in the bottom three packing? As we saw it, Jacob Lusk , Scotty McCreery and Stefano Langone were in danger, with James Durbin, Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart safe. We were two-thirds correct. Jacob, Haley and Stefano were on the block … Follow the jump to see which singer left American Idol this evening … Stefano Langone ended his run on the show in seventh place. The wild-card finalist from Kent, Wash., was probably lucky to make it this far, and harbored no hard feelings about his ouster from the competition. Asked by Ryan Seacrest how Idol had changed his life, Stefano replied: “It started my career, man. That’s something you can’t put a price on.” “That’s everything. I’m so blessed. I came this far. It’s great; it really is.” Indeed. He went out in style, too, with Stevie Wonder’s “Lately.” Way to go, Stefano. Congratulations on a great run. Now, on to the top six … What do you think? Did America get it right voting off Stefano?

Pusha T Set To Drop Fear of God 2 In June

Along with an EP follow-up to his new mixtape, Push promises MTV News more Re-Up Gang offerings. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Rahman Dukes Pusha T Photo: MTV News Pusha T is getting over any trepidation he had before the release of his Fear of God mixtape . On June 21, the younger member of heralded Virginia rap duo the Clipse will release Fear of God 2: Let Us Pray, an EP version of his tape. The eight-track EP is set to feature bonus material, surprise guests and is being released in a partnership between G.O.O.D. Music and Re-Up Gang via Decon Records. Push A Ton first announced the news on Monday via Twitter as he dropped the video for the Hitboy-produced “My God.” Fear of God is Pusha T’s first solo venture and he told MTV News about the set’s objectives before its release. “I came up with the title because that’s what I intend to evoke out of the competition, lyrically, the fear of God,” Pusha told us. “At the same time, when I started the mixtape and realized that my brother wasn’t there with me the whole way, I sort of felt the fear of God myself.” Malice, the other side of the Clipse equation, is not part of the G.O.O.D. Music roster but has been busy promoting his just-published book, “Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked.” However, Pusha confirmed that a new Clipse album will be forthcoming, but only after his solo offerings have dropped as well as a new Re-Up Gang mixtape titled Long Live the Cane. The time was just right for a Pusha solo project. “I think everything is about timing,” Pusha said. “We’ve always been trying to stay true to what the Clipse wanted, then we also had the Re-Up Gang projects that we always been working on as far as the mixtapes and the streets and Ab-Liva. I just think it’s time now.” Clipse and Re-Up Gang fans need not worry about Pusha softening up his style now that he’s asserting himself as a soloist and in league with Kanye West and company. “G.O.O.D. Music and Kanye in particular, he definitely wants me to be me and that’s what I bring to the G.O.O.D. Music fold,” Pusha said. “Everybody on G.O.O.D Music has their own specific lane and mine is definitely going to be street hip-hop to the core.” Pusha has already started preparing his proper solo debut album, due sometime in the fall. “We got five joints, Kanye West-produced, amazing, amazing records,” Pusha said. “Only thing we don’t have is the title yet.” What do you think of Pusha’s Fear of God mixtape? Alchemist Promises Curren$y Covert Coup Will Leave You ‘High’

Producer talks to Mixtape Daily about the 4/20 release, plus his updates on Mobb Deep, Roc Marciano, more. By Alvin Blanco Alchemist Photo: MTV News Mixtape Daily: Behind the Beats The Alchemist has plenty of sonic concoctions on tap for 2011. One of the esteemed hip-hop producer’s latest projects is New Orleans rapper Curren$y’s Covert Coup mixtape . And while Alc is used to dropping projects that are strictly for sale, the Coup tape is a free release. Chalk it up as a small price to pay for working with an ambitious MC like Spitta. “He got his own zone,” Alchemist told Mixtape Daily of Curren$y. “I hadn’t worked with him before that but when he worked, he works quick. Same way I work, too, which is good because we were able to knock out a couple of joints the first day and decide where it could go. I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t want to make anything that was like [what] he had done before or I didn’t want to go too far and make some different sh– either. Let’s just make some fly sh–. The two artists, who met a few years back when Alchemist was working on his Chemical Warfare album, have an in-studio rapport. “Obviously, I guess it would be redundant to say we were smoking weed, we made the music very high,” Alchemist admitted with a laugh. “It definitely is the audio equivalent of that; you’ll definitely feel high after you listen to it. I had a lot of fun doing it, man. He ain’t really restricted with his music as far as how he created, he’s real loose, that’s how I like to be too.” For now, Alc is nixing any rumors that he had a label deal through Shady Records, although he’s still Eminem’s tour DJ . And recent Shady Records signees Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse were sent some Alchemist beats for consideration. And that’s not all. The Hollywood-bred producer has a busy year of projects ahead of him. He’s contributing beats to Evidence’s new album and working on their joint project, Step Brothers. A new Gangrene album is also on the way via Decon Records. Dropping April 20 is Covert Coup, which Curren$y told us was created over a few studio sessions since both Alc and Spitta were adamant about not creating an album by emailing MP3s back and forth. The album is free but they’ll be selling T-shirts via Diamond Supply Co . “It’s an experiment for me, too, to put out an album like this, I usually put it out for sale,” Alchemist said. “We’re planting the seed for maybe a future one for real. I’m trying to get my weight up and see if I can move some shirts. That’ll be my SoundScan first.” On Roc Marciano’s upcoming album : “I’m working with Roc Marcy right now and that sh– is just, he is just, oh my … That’s like my favorite sh– in my iTunes, right now. He came out to L.A. a couple of times and we’re like six to eight joints deep. We’re going to work on a side project eventually but in the meantime anything I can do to help his new album. He got crazy sh–. Anyways, we came together and he just inspires me to make music. His rhymes are on another level, where his deliveries at he’s just so comfortable right now. I’m real hype about the stuff I’m doing with him. Roc is incredible, his rhyme flow, the words he chooses, he’s just on another level. The next album he’s coming out on Decon and I know Tip is helping out. I’m glad I’m helping with that too.” On a new Mobb Deep release : “We got some things in order; when the time is right I’m sure it will be out there. But definitely some plans for this new Mobb music. We’re so deep with music already. Basically, we’re focusing on making the Mobb Deep album first. There’s records already, like, ‘Yeah this is Mobb Deep,’ or, ‘This is P’s solo or whatever.’ Just planning it out and making sure that the first move is Mobb Deep’s best foot forward.” On a sequel to Return of the Mac with Prodigy : “Yeah! We gotta do that sh–. Oh man, it’s so many opportunities now, man! It’s definitely exciting man.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines .

Kendra Wilkinson Has A ‘Boxer’s State Of Mind’ On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

‘I want to fight, but … I have to realize that it’s a dance,’ she tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Kendra Wilkinson Photo: James Lacsina Kendra Wilkinson and her “Dancing With the Stars” partner Louis Van Amstel told MTV News they were working on a “fun” foxtrot for this week, and judging by their performance and the audience reactions, it looks like they succeeded. Wilkinson also told us that the “fun” aspect of the competition can be the most challenging — especially on performance nights. “Monday nights are nerve-racking for me,” she said. “I am giving it my all, though … but I can’t help but be nervous. “The anticipation of going into the dance is the worst,” Wilkinson continued. “I’m a boxer when it comes to that. I have a boxer’s state of mind. I’m going into it like a fight, almost,” she explained of her self-imposed intensity. “I want to win, I want to fight, but it’s not that. I have to realize that it’s a dance. I have to remain calm and relaxed. That’s what I’m trying to work on: not going into it like a fight, looking at it like a dance.” But Van Amstel pointed out that his partner’s intensity and commitment make for an excellent student. “I think from all the celebrities, the one who picks it up the fastest is Kendra,” he said. “It is purely the anticipation [on] show day, really psyching herself out, like a boxer does. Your opponent needs to go down,” he said of trying to help soothe tough mentality, “but in the end, it’s only us on the dance floor.” “I really thought last week we were going to be gone, but we have such an amazing fanbase that they voted us through,” Wilkinson said of her fans. “And I’m just so happy.” Do you think Kendra and Louis have what it takes to stick around for another week? Tell us in the comments!
