Miley Cyrus and the top 11’s take on Billboard hits make Jim bitter. By Jim Cantiello Miley Cyrus performs on “American Idol” on Wednesday Photo: Michael Becker / FOX “American Idol” in 60 Seconds has fast become an MTV News institution, but it goes by so fast that it’s not always easy to catch every golden nugget. So, here we present to you Jim Cantiello’s bite-size recap of this week’s “Idol” high jinks. This week’s “American Idol” was a lot like watching an episode of “Cops,” in that you needed to separate from the reality of the situation in order to fully enjoy its absurd pop-culture trashiness. (Unlike “Cops,” nobody was half naked and handcuffed; although it’s likely Kara has imagined such a scenario with Casey James.) First of all, we had mentor Miley Cyrus , who decided to give advice to the contestants pantless. (But don’t worry, she wore two crucifixes to balance out her bare bottom half.) All kidding aside, Miley turned out to be a perfectly respectable “Idol” guest. She warmly disapproved of contestants who fumbled lyrics (Andrew Garcia), urged front-runners to push themselves harder (Crystal Bowersox) and came up with a silly excuse to hug the cute boy (Tim Urban). And then there were the performances. … Oh, the performances. The week’s wide-open theme was Billboard #1 hits (shhhh, don’t tell anyone that Miley has never had a #1 song on the Hot 100 Chart). But almost all of the contestants picked songs that were popular when their parents were twenty-somethings. Aerosmith, Phil Collins, Linda Ronstadt, Percy Sledge, Marvin Gaye … wait, is this “The Big Chill” soundtrack? Ironically, 17-going-on-70-year-old Katie Stevens was the one contestant who picked a contemporary song (Fergie’s ode to blankets). The only performance worthy of any real praise was season-nine MVP Crystal Bowersox’s “Me and Bobby McGee.” Let’s just hope she starts bringing new things to the stage each week, other than plush carpets. Other moments of note: Siobhan had silly hair, Didi made funny faces, Michael Lynche is still a cheeseball, Lee Dewyze can do a Box Tops song without anyone acknowledging the recent passing of Alex Chilton , Casey James does a killer Huey Lewis impression and Tim Urban slid across the stage like he was stealing third base. On Wednesday night’s results show, the contestants slowly learned who made it into the top 10, and thus, the formally beloved, now dreaded American Idols Live summer tour. But first, there were two special musical guest performances to “enjoy!” Miley Cyrus tore into her current hit, “Not the Climb,” like a wolf rips into the carcass of a caribou. (One could argue it was about as pleasant to the listener, too!) Then Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato sang a song about pebbles with such a palpable intensity, I expected the Disney Sonny and Cher to rip off their purity rings and go at it live on television. During the results reveal, we learned that Siobhan’s friends are even weirder than she is (Stage blood! Shaving protests!), Didi Benami has difficulty standing upright while lip-synching (she totally fell during the group number), and Crystal Bowersox is such a beloved TV star, she’s able to mouth the words “holy s—” on prime-time television without the FCC threatening any fines. In the bottom three: Tim Urban and Paige Miles, not so shocking since Paige croaked one of the worst “Idol” vocals ever Tuesday night. More surprising was Katie Stevens’ inclusion on the chopping block, mostly because it meant Andrew Garcia was not in the bottom three, and as Simon would say, that guy “sucks … the life out of a song.” In the end, Paige was the one who had to sing for her life, but Simon murdered that idea when he told her she had a better chance of conceiving Clay Aiken’s second baby than performing well enough to justify using the judges’ save on her. Check out the latest (especially bitter) “American Idol” in 60 Seconds recap, embedded in this article. Let us know your take on this week’s “Idol” episodes by leaving a comment below. Evan Lysacek, men’s figure skating champion, is one of the eleven celebrities who will compete on the season 10 premiere of Dancing with the Stars. His partner is Anna Trebunskaya. Just like other contestants, everyone has their own rituals, which they do prior to the competition. Evan has his own rituals too. Just as what he always does, he prepares himself mentally for the first performance. In every competition he joins, he always tries to stimulate all his senses to condition his body. He also lights the same candle which he used to burn in his skating competitions. Same list of songs in his iPod. Most particularly, his chocolate shakes which he drinks on competition days. He uses the same comb, and the same hair gel. When he does these things, it’s his one way of conditioning and telling his body that this is it and it’s time to go. As usual, he prepares himself well. So when it’s their turn to hit the dance floor, he wasn’t nervous anymore. After seeing the performances of the first five couples, he felt great and even more confident. Performing in front of a live audience is not new to him, so the crowd didn’t scare him. He also finds it interesting going face-to-face with the judges and listen to whatever comments they might have regarding their performance. Though the champion has been used to being scored by an international panel, he still felt a little nervous standing in front of Len, Bruno and Carrie Ann. He acknowledges the inputs given by the judges on how they have to improve their performance. At the end of the night, he felt great and even more excited to perform on the dance floor in the coming days. Evan Lysacek: Pre-performance Rituals is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading
When TV audiences tune in to watch the 10th season premier of Dancing with the Stars, they will see a new co-host in action, as well as the contestants. Brooke Burke will be co-hosting along with Tom Bergeron. She is the new face in Dancing with the Stars who has replaced Samantha Harris. A makeover was done in the Dancing during its hiatus as stated by producer Conrad Green to PEOPLE. Instead of hiding the contestants away from the audience during the show, they brought the backstage room to the front of the stage so that they will be with the audience. The so-called “red room” is now enclosed by glass wall and is now inside of the ballroom. Instead of watching on a monitor, there will be a balcony and a railing that would be placed where the cast could stand and watch the live performances. Now, this is where Burke will have her interview with the contestants after their performance and also where they would receive the scores from the judges. Another new that would be featured in this season is the theme “night”. Dances from famous movies or dances to iconic music from films will also be featured. In addition, there will be a night featuring songs by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This season, the eleven couples will make the show more interesting and a television that people have to watch. Everyone has great talent and great potential. All eleven couples have had only three weeks of training and they will perform on tonight’s premier and later after a week. Scores will be taken from the judges and the fan votes. Tuesday, March 29, the first pair from this season will be eliminated. Performance shows will air on Monday nights, and results will be air on Tuesday nights for the remainder of the season. Actress will face off against the ‘amazing’ Nicole Scherzinger and the ‘sexy, sexy, sexy’ Pamela Anderson. By Josh Wigler Shannen Doherty Photo: Jamie McCarthy/ Getty Images Former “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Charmed” actress Shannen Doherty is hours away from revealing her dancing skills to the American public on Tuesday night’s (March 22) 10th-season premiere of “Dancing With the Stars,” but Doherty is going to have to work on her cold feet before strapping on those dancing shoes. 2010 Cast of ‘DWTS’ On Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM morning radio show , Doherty said she is “nervous and freaking out” about her impending dancing debut. The actress said her nervousness has led to a breakout of hives and stomach pains. “I’m like, ‘I can’t, I can’t, I can’t,’ ” she told Seacrest of her anxieties. But Doherty explained that she has some inspiration to look toward when it comes to overcoming her “Dancing” fears : Her father, who suffered a stroke last Christmas, is serving as an example of courage for the 38 year-old actress. “It’s kind of a negotiating tool,” she said of her father’s influence. “He’s going to go in there and work really hard on regaining his speech and his mobility. And I’m going to get over my fear of a live audience.” Her other issue on the show is figuring out why she’s gaining weight while other contestants are shedding pounds. “Everyone says it’s muscle. I don’t see it,” she laughed. “I eat so much now, it’s insane.” The actress had plenty of praise for her celebrity competitors: “Nicole [Scherzinger] is amazing. Not only is she really, really nice, but she’s a dancer. Evan [Lysacek], being an ice skater, I think he’s going to do fantastic. And I think Pam [Anderson] is just going to be sexy, sexy, sexy, and so much fun to watch.” Will you be tuning in to “Dancing With the Stars”? Do you think Shannen will overcome her fears? American Idol revealed its 12 season nine finalists last night, eliminating four contestants in the process. Two of those eliminations were easy to see coming: We’d have gone with Paige Miles and Tim Urban instead, but it’s hard to argue with viewers sending Katelyn Epperly (the weakest of this season’s singer/songwriters) and Todrick Hall (more of a dancer than a singer) home. But Lilly Scott and Alex Lambert? Wow. The lessons future contestants can take from these semifinalists would be: don’t only sing songs from previous decades; and get over your stage fright. We wish all booted contestants the best, but it’s now time to focus on those remaining. We’re not down to the top 12, and we’ve listed them below, from most likely to win to least likely… Crystal Bowersox Siobhan Magnus Casey James Michael Lynche Didi Benami Lee DeWyze Andrew Garcia Paige Miles Aaron Kelly Katie Stevens Lacey Brown Tim Urban There’s a big drop-off after the top four, as two women and two men really stand out. Do you agree? Who would you have sent home and who do you consider the favorite?

I don’t watch TV, especially not bullshit TV like The Bachelor, that’s shit is for single women, or women unhappy in their marriages, but I do know that it’s a fucked up concept where a group of whores fight for the attention of one guy, when really they are fighting for the attention of America, so I wasn’t surprised when I read that one of the contestants had a porno past, cuz girls, when they’ve relied on their mediocre looks all their lives need to get paid, or when they thought they had their big break and would end up famous, only to be kicked off the show into obscurity, will end up sucking big black dick badly on video so people will keep taking about her…and all without showing the world her pussy, enough of a justification that she probably still doesn’t think she’s a whore……

Kate Gosselin will be one of the contestants on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars , according to reports. This poses an interesting dilemma: How do they even introduce her on the show? Mother of eight? Bitchy single former reality star? Shameless, self-promoting author with awful hair? In any case, the official Dancing With the Stars cast announcement will be made this evening as a cross-promotion with The Bachelor season finale. “I want to laugh at myself. I so cannot dance. It would be a terribly sad sight,” said the grating mother of eight on the Jay Leno Show recently. Which begs the question: what would Gosselin do with her kids during the hours of grueling daily rehearsals for the reality competition show? FEAR THE PORCUPINE : Whatever that is on her head, it is a force to be reckoned with as Kate Gosselin is ready to kick ass and take names on Dancing with the Stars . She will actually prepare her routines in Pennsylvania , near where she lives, instead of in the show’s rehearsal studios on the West Coast, according to sources: “Kate’s the kind of woman who will do whatever is necessary for her children. It’s great for her to be on the show, but only in a way that benefits her family.” The show was willing to make such a concession since producers believe she will be a ratings bonanza for Dancing with the Stars , and they’re probably right. Kate is now the primary breadwinner for her brood, as the legal battle waged by Jon Gosselin against TLC ate up a big chunk of his money – and notoriety. He can’t do any more TV appearances now until they cut him loose. Which pretty much takes away his only source of revenue – being a douche, but on TV.
