Michael Bay does not apologize for Armageddon. I repeat, he does not apologize. Yesterday, we reported that Bay apologized for Armageddon , saying that he didn’t have enough time to do it right. But today the director has released a statement to the contrary: “One press writer has gone too far in reporting false information. He has printed the bare minimum of my statement which in effect have twisted my words and meaning.” The director added “still today Armageddon, is still one of the most shown movies on cable TV. ” “And yes, I’m proud of the movie. Enough said.” Some fans think Bay has plenty of other movies he could apologize for, but that’s beside that point.
One Real Housewives of New Jersey castmate is done with her . Another wants her to go to Hell . No, it’s not easy to be Teresa Giudice these days, as the reality star opens up in the latest In Touch Weekly and admits she suffered a breakdown following the Season 4 reunion special. “After the taping was done, I broke down. I started crying, and I couldn’t stop,” Teresa tells the tabloid. Despite apparent evidence to the contrary, meanwhile, Giudice insists she never set out to expose sister-in-law Melissa Gorga as a former stripper. “I know in my heart I did nothing. I feel like I’m making myself sick over this,” she says. The supposedly Real Housewife also refers to her non-existent bond with her brother as “heartbreaking” and wonders whether fame is to blame for their falling out. Does this mean she’s quitting the show? Of course not. “I need help,” she at least admits. “Everyone is against me and ganging up on me.” For more from Giudice, pick up the new issue of In Touch . It’s on newsstands now.
The Magic Mike director gave insight into his future endeavors once his hard stop to movie making begins in six months. He told Reuters that a book and even television work may occupy his interests, following in the footsteps of a number of filmmakers who are crossing over to the small screen in the past several years. “I’ve been planning this for five years … I gave myself an out date and I’m right on schedule. I turn into a pumpkin in January,” Steven Soderbergh told Reuters . He also noted that he’s over making what he dubbed as “important movies,” adding that Che satisfied that desire. Following his latest, Soderbergh will finish off the thriller The Bitter Pill starring Channing Tatum, who also stars in Magic as well as Rooney Mara. And he also has the Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon shooting this summer. Candelabra may be a window, in fact, into the Oscar winning director’s future since it’s an HBO production. “After I take my self-imposed sabbatical, if I’m going to come back and do something, I think it’s more likely that it would be on television than it would be a movie,” he said.” What do you think of Soderbergh’s move to TV? Bad news, Charlie Kaufman fans: While some cast members had been hopeful in recent months that Frank or Francis would move ahead, Elizabeth Banks (doing the press rounds for People Like Us ) spilled news to the contrary. “I honestly don’t know where that film is at,” she told AICN. “We were supposed to make it sooner, but it’s been pushed. I think they’re waiting for everybody’s lives to come back together…I don’t really know anything about it.” Speaking with Moviefone, she elaborated that things “fell apart” before the Hollywood satire/musical could move forward into production: “We didn’t get to shoot that movie. It was ready to go, and, as many movies do, it fell apart at the last minute.” UPDATE: Over at The Playlist , the filmmaker’s reps say that the project’s not completely dead — it has just been “postponed.” [ AICN , Moviefone ]
On this week’s Saturday Night Live, Andy Cohen was mocked so relentlessly that many wondered if he’d be legitimately offended, but he took it like a good sport. Taran Killam starred as the Bravo host, portraying him as a fame-obsessed, egotistical, flamboyant moderator of Watch What Happens Live … which he sort of is. Still, the snark was off the charts, with a couple of “yeah, they really said that” kind of moments. The source material wasn’t upset by it, however. On the contrary. Upon learning of the skit, Cohen tweeted, “OMG the one night I go to bed early I’m lampooned on SNL?! Great job I am flattered! #ImLikeAShark #VeryCute.” Good to know he can take it as well as he dishes it out: Andy Cohen Saturday Night Live Parody
This is worse than that Chris Brown superhero cartoon . A Watkinsville, Ga., steakhouse is feeling the heat after promoting its “black and bleu” ribeye sandwich as being inspired by Chris Brown’s beatdown of Rihanna. Seriously, they promoted the burger that way. Chops & Hops put up a notice last week on the eatery’s Facebook and Twitter pages announcing the newly-created sandwich, available for one day only. A heavy dose of ribeye topped with blue cheese, sliced tomato, “silver Lamborghini” onions and shredded romaine. The restaurant’s posting said: “@chrisbrown, @rihanna and us teamed up for an award winning sandwich … Chris won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with a R and ends with A.” Mmmyeah. Shockingly, some customers weren’t fans. Considering Rihanna was assaulted in a Lamborghini to the point where she sustained some major black and blue bruises, probably not the best PR stunt. Not that Richard Miley is apologizing. On the contrary! “I was not trying to make a joke of domestic violence, just bringing light to the situation through food,” he said. “I do not regret doing it. I don’t regret anything.” However, the restaurant set the record straight on Saturday with a follow-up Facebook post saying it takes the issue of domestic violence seriously. “The owners of C&H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff DO NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Many of us have been affected by domestic violence in some manner and realize that this is no joke,” read the message. It went on to state that Chops & Hops plans to donate all proceeds from burger sales to Project Safe Team 6, an anti-domestic violence charity. He did not say if they are planning a Karrueche Tran -themed Asian dish.
There’s nothing like sussing out the truth from these professional fundies. The only real argument for supporting DOMA is that they simply hate gay people, no matter how much evidence to the contrary that the stability of families, no matter the sexual orientation of the parents, is what really matters. They have no logical leg to stand on when cornered. Perhaps Macaulay Culkin has been going home alone since his break-up with Mila Kunis. Last week, a Spanish porn star named Irene Lopez implied that she had an intimate relationship with this actor, as a photograph of the pair was snapped outside a live sex club in Barcelona. But Culkin tells E! News there’s nothing more to this story other than a woman seeking to capitalize on an everyday occurrence. He said: “As I do with many fans, I briefly met and took a photo with Irene Lopez at her request. I have had no contact with this woman in any capacity, social or otherwise before or since that picture was taken. Any reports to the contrary are false.” Well… darn. That’s just no fun at all.
