Stellan Skarsgard Gives a Little Nymphomaniac Tease

Swedish-born actor Stellan Skarsgard has run a wide gamut of film roles in his career. His blockbuster fare includes roles in Marvel’s The Avengers and last year’s Thor . He appeared in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , Mamma Mia as well as artier titles like A Somewhat Gentle Man (2010) and fellow Scandinavian Lars von Trier’s Melancholia (2011), Dogville (2003) and Dancer in the Dark (2000). One of his next projects is the controversial filmmaker’s next two films, which have already titillated fans of the enigmatic Danish director. Skarsgard gave a bit of insight about the back to back projects, The Nymphomaniac and The Nymphomaniac Part 2 , which, perhaps unsurprisingly, promise to live up to their titles. Skarsgard will star opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg in what the actor recently joked is “the porno we’re doing…” The films are described as a “light and poetic story” of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told via the main character who is a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac. Initially, the “erotic journey” part of the story was allegedly being fulfilled by porn-star stand-ins, but Skarsgard left unclear who was doing what, though apparently there will be no shortage of carnal delights for von Trier fans to indulge in. He told Sabotage Times, “I pick up Charlotte Gainsbourg’s character on the street and take her back to my apartment, and over two movies we talk about her time as a nymphomaniac.” He added, “There’s a lot of fucking in it. A lot of fucking in it.” The 61 year-old actor, who will also appear in Thor 2 , which will be out next year said he feels “at home” in both big budget movies as well as micro-budget independents. “I’m at home everywhere. If I’ve been doing a small, shoestring budget art-house film that’s very dark and that nobody will see, but that’s very good, it’s nice to go and do something fluffier. I’m extremely privileged in that I manage to enjoy myself all the time with very different materials.” [Source: Sabotage Times via Contactmusic ]

Nas Is Like ‘An Old Blues Man’ On Life Is Good Album Cover

Cover features rapper sitting with ex-wife Kelis’ wedding gown draped across his knee. By Rob Markman Nas Photo: A bright splash of green is all it took to make the album cover for Nas ‘ Life Is Good pop, but coincidentally for God’s Son, it’s all just a case of the blues. “The cover is like an old blues man talking about his life,” Nas told MTV News about the striking image for his upcoming 10th solo shot. There’s Nasir Jones, sitting pensive, with his hand to his chin, wearing a crisp white, casually unbuttoned suit. On his lap is a green wedding dress, the same green wedding dress that his ex-wife Kelis wore during their 2005 wedding ceremony; the same green dress that she left hanging in his closet after their divorce. When VH1 profiled the rapper on their “Behind the Music” special, the usually private Nas spoke in detail about his split from the R&B singer. “She took her stuff out of the house and left her green wedding dress. And that was all she left,” he said, his voice marked by heartbreak. It was in that very moment, during the VH1 interview, that Nas knew what he had to do for his next album cover . “It clicked right there. You’re saying it even in your interview, it’s like a given that this should allude to this being on the cover, that statement,” he said. “Some things you can’t plan, they happen.” Throughout his career, the gifted lyricist has always delivered strong images, and it’s all very deliberate. Before fans even got a complete listen of Nas’ 1994 classic debut Illmatic, the album’s cover let you know that you were in for something special. The cover image of a prepubescent Nas, with his hardened gaze juxtaposed against his native Queensbridge housing project has become just as indelible as the 10 tracks that it housed. On his next three album covers, Nas built upon that first Illmatic image. The front panel for his 1996 sophomore disc It Was Written re-created the same look, but with an image of a more grown-up Nas. On I Am, Nasir once again posed against Queensbridge, but this time he appeared as a pharaoh. And on Nastradamus, he used the same backdrop but played the role of a prophet, with a brown hood over his head. By the time 2001’s Stillmatic was released, Nas had abandoned the Queensbridge concept and created an image faintly reminiscent of Slick Rick’s 1988 debut, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick. With 2004’s Street’s Disciple cover, Esco re-created a Last Supper theme, and on his controversial 2008 Untitled album, a shirtless Nas appeared as a slave, with welts on his back that formed the letter ‘N.’ When the already-iconic MC looks back at his career, he wants to be remembered for his cover art. He takes his cues from memorable LPs like Earth Wind & Fire’s Last Days and Time and Iron Maiden’s self-titled 1980 debut. “I wanna be the one, like Earth Wind & Fire and Iron Maiden, like album covers that just really stand out,” he said. “I want to be the guy with the best album cover story.” Life Is Good is due out July 17. Ian Somerhalder Continues Push For Fifty Shades of Grey Role

Ian Somerhalder is not only interested in the role of Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey, he’s progressed to lobbying for it … and recruiting writers. The Vampire Diaries star, 33, has made it clear that he’s more than game to turn the controversial novel into an even more controversial movie. Now he’s waging a Twitter campaign of sorts, beginning with writing to Bret Easton Ellis, who he apparently wants to write the script: “Id so love to be Christian Grey w/you & Angelina Jolie. Ive only waited 10 years to do a movie w/u. Im grown up now-no worries.” Ellis ( American Psycho, The Rules of Attraction ) has also been angling to bring the S&M saga of Mr. Grey and Anastasia Steele to the big screen. He wrote to Ian: “I’m glad you’re as excited by the prospect of Fifty Shades of Grey as I am. (though I’ve heard that Angelina is not involved…)” Yes, despite rumors that Angelina Jolie will direct , that’s not happening. Still, Bret and Ian? A formidable pair no doubt. Ellis previously named Alex Pettyfer as his Mr. Grey of choice, but says he might reconsider. “Rereading Fifty Shades of Grey: it’s hard for me to think of Ian Somerhalder as Christian G. because I’ve known him personally for so long.” “I know Ian Somerhalder and how kinky he can be and yes, he’s probably Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, and he will go all-out for it.” “I’ll call Ian tomorrow for Fifty Shades of Grey …I get it, I get it.” We’re glad you get it Bret … now do it. Your take: Ian in 50 Shades?

Chris Brown Drops ‘Way Too Cold’ Freestyle, Jabs At Rihanna?

Hip-hop star takes a shot at an ex-girlfriend but denies song is about Rih. By John Mitchell Rihanna and Chris Brown Photo: Getty Images Chris Brown has released a freestyle version of Kanye West’s “Way Too Cold,” and his lyrics seem to have landed the controversial Grammy-winning hip-hop star in hot water with ex-girlfriend Rihanna. On the track, Brown raps, “Don’t f— with my old bitch it’s like a bad fur/ Every industry n—a done had her/ Shook the tree like a pumpkin just to smash her/ Bitch is breaking codes, but I’m the password.” Brown tweeted a link to the freestyle early Thursday morning (May 10) and was met with a prompt response from Rihanna, who tweeted , “Aw, poor dat #neaux1currrrr.” She then immediately unfollowed Brown on the social network. For his part, Brown hit Twitter again Thursday morning to issue a pseudo-denial that the song is about Rihanna. But in so doing, he appeared to take a shot at her, writing, “Assumptions! I didn’t say any names so if u took offense to it then it’s something you feel guilty about.” Interestingly, Brown’s alleged verbal takedown of Rihanna comes just a few months after the stars reunited on a pair of much-debated duets , a move that many saw as a public statement that Rihanna had forgiven Brown for assaulting her the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault and accepted a plea deal of community labor, five years’ formal probation and domestic violence counseling. Rihanna appears on Brown’s remix of “Turn Up the Music,” and Brown cameos on a particularly explicit extended version of Rihanna’s Talk That Talk track “Birthday Cake,” which currently sits at #2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-hop song chart. “We did two records — one for my fans, one for his fans — and that way our fans can come together,” Rihanna explained to Ryan Seacrest of her controversial decision to team up with her ex. “There shouldn’t be a divide, you know? It’s music and it’s innocent. Related Artists Chris Brown Rihanna

Lady Gaga: Banned in Indonesia!

Indonesia’s Little Monsters, revolt! Lady Gaga, who is scheduled to perform in Jakarta next month, has just been banned by the nation following protests from hardline Islamic critics. The concert drew vehement opposition from many in the world’s most populous Muslim nation, due to her controversial persona and racy getups. A spokesman for the Indonesian national police has confirmed that the singer has been denied a permit for her June 3 show, thus negging the show. It would have been the biggest stop on her Asian tour, having been set to take place at the 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta. The Islamic Defenders Front trashed the global pop superstar for her “Satanic lyrics” that threaten to “destroy the children’s sense of morality.” Other protesters, equally enraged, even vowed to physically block the singer from setting foot on Indonesian soil if the show wasn’t cancelled. Local law enforcement reportedly requested that the permit be denied after fearing that officers wouldn’t able to contain a massive on-site protest. Earlier this spring, Gaga’s tour drew protests from South Korean Christian groups decrying that her “pornographic” performances promoted homosexuality. No word if the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumors also make the protesters uneasy, or if they’re even allowed to read such things on the Internet. [Photo: WENN.com]
