Kanye West is a known connoisseur of all things creative, and has always been one to tip his hat to art he admires. It looks like Tyler, The Creator’s visual for “IFHY” most recently caught the Chicago native’s eye, as West decided to strip his website (kanyewest.com), leaving only the Odd Future frontman’s video as its homepage… Continue

The Real Housewives of Atlanta “Praise the Pageant.” If only they would have taken the time for a dress rehearsal. We recap all the bloopers in our THG +/- review. Cynthia throws her Miss Renaissance Pageant with lots of pushing and little polish. Minus 20 . Perhaps a dress rehearsal or two would have helped. Where to begin? How about with actor and celebrity host Boris Kodjoe. No doubt he’s a handsome man in anything he wears but Cynthia obviously needed to specify he should wear a suit, especially when all of the ladies on stage were wearing gowns. Minus 15 . Who shows up to host a pageant wearing jeans and sneakers? The man obviously needs his stylist…or his momma to dress him properly. On the up side, Cynthia was rocking that wig. Plus 10. The pageant goes off with plenty of hitches. The script is out of order. The girls’ names are all wrong and then there’s awkward silence as the judges tally the votes. Minus 18. Not that I wanted to hear Porsha sing but Cynthia should have had something planned for that obvious lull in the festivities. Like NeNe I couldn’t believe that Cynthia asked Kenya to be a judge in the pageant given their history and Kenya’s recent behavior at public events. NeNe warned her that, “a fool is a fool.” Surprisingly that’s the one decision that didn’t blow up on her. Plus 13 . Kenya showed up with her Miss USA sash but no tiara. If you can’t wear your crown to a pageant, well then where can you wear one? How funny was it to hear Phaedra try to tell Cynthia that it all went off without a hitch? Not even Cynthia could listen to that with a straight face. The pageant wasn’t the only thing giggle worthy in this episode. Try Porsha babysitting her niece. First off, where were the child’s shoes? Then Porsha learns just how quick those little legs can carry a one year old as Jayden toddles out of the kitchen. Word of advice…the dog is not an acceptable babysitter. Minus 9. Porsha did her best but Kordell might be wrong about the nanny. My guess is Porsha will have one even if she’s home 24/7. Speaking of Kordell, was that being traditional or controlling. Minus 11. Sometimes it sounds more like he’s speaking to his teenage daughter than his wife. Across town, Kandi and Todd have dinner with Phaedra and Apollo and remind me not to accept a dinner invitation from Phaedra. I don’t care how good the food or how impressed Phaedra is with the his vocabulary, listening to the chef compare my meal to genitalia was simply unappetizing. Minus 30. Can anyone guess how many jokes are floating around the twitterverse about the creator of Bedroom Kandi singing a Gospel song? It’s so easy I’m not even going to go there. Looks like we’ll be getting a lot more NeNe next week as the girls head off to LA. Episode total = -80! Season total = -278!

Hi, my name is Chloe. First of all I can’t believe I’m sitting here writing my own Bieber Experience! I never thought this day would come. My Bieber Experience all started when Believe tour dates came out. I saw that the first date was in Arizona, which is where I live. I looked at a few other places to see if Justin was playing anywhere on my birthday, and he was! I asked my mom if we could get tickets to see him on in LA and she said yes! I got tickets to see him on my 15th birthday, October 2nd, 2012. I really wanted meet & greets and we did everything we could to buy them, but they sold out immediately. I was upset, but I was also so grateful that I even got tickets. I didn’t want to give up on meeting him though, so I started to enter tons of meet and greet contests. I kept the radio on 24/7 and entered contests all over the U.S. because I didn’t care what it took, I was determined to meet him. Months went by and I still had not won any of the contests. That’s when Justin re-tweeted the BieberFever fan club saying that there was a meet & greet contest. I had lost a lot of hope, but I entered anyway. All I had to do was send in a picture of all of my Justin Bieber merchandise. I sent a few pictures along with a paragraph about why I love Justin and the crazy things I’ve done like taking a cardboard cutout to the mall or to the movie theatre or getting a cake for his birthday. A few weeks went by and I had forgotten that I even entered the contest. Luckily, the night before the concert, I just happened to go on my email and I saw a reply from BieberFever. I’m pretty sure I stopped breathing when I saw that . My two best friends, Rebecca and Hannah looked at me and asked what was wrong. I opened the email and I read it out loud. All of us started screaming and crying. I lost all self-control. I was rolling around on the floor screaming and bawling my eyes out and I sat and cried until I had no tears left. When I got to the Staples Center, I went to the box office to pick up my wristbands and went into this hallway inside. As I was waiting in line, Pattie walked inside and waved to everyone in line, including me! All of a sudden I saw Jaden Smith poke his head out of a curtain! I started screaming and he looked me and smiled! I went through that curtain that Jaden was in and I watched these two guys open up more curtains to the next room. I realized that the guy on the right was Moshe. I started freaking out and the guy on the left said “Happy Birthday!” I realized it was Kenny! I screamed in Kenny’s face and started crying as I gave him a hug. I was so shocked that I could barley move. That’s when Kenny said that Justin was right behind me. I turned around and Justin was standing right there with this big smile and his gorgeous brown eyes looking right at me. I started hyperventilating and my face was really red from crying. I was a mess and I was really embarrassed that Justin saw me like that. I couldn’t bring myself to walk over to him so my mom had to help me because I was holding up the line. Justin hugged me and told me not to cry. He let go and said “Happy Birthday sweetie.” He smelled so good! I was falling over and I started to get really dizzy, my mom had to hold me up for the picture. I hugged Justin one more time and I watched him lift up his hat and put it back on as he continued talking to Kenny . Justin said, “Yeah man it was so scary.” Other people started coming in, so I had to leave. I didn’t say one word to Justin. For years, I planned out what I was going to say to him, and I blew it. As I walked outside, people saw me crying and all of these girls started screaming, “OH MY GOD YOU’RE SO LUCKY!” People were taking pictures with me, hugging me, and some people even asked if they could touch me. It was crazy. The concert was absolutely incredible. Allison walked by us a few times, and I tried to get her attention, but she didn’t see me. It was the most amazing experience of my entire life. I didn’t think that night could get any better. After the concert, we went to Chick-fil-A in Hollywood. As we were walking up to the line, we saw Jaden Smith, Moises Arias, Tyler The Creator and Mateo Arias! I was taking pictures of them and Moises saw me so I asked if I could take a picture of him. He said yes and he was just standing there while I took a picture of him. It was really awkward, so he said “Uhhh do you want to be in the picture with me?” and I was like, “Oh, yeah!” I took a picture with Moises and Jaden walked over to talk to us. I told Jaden that he is an amazing performer and he said, “Thank you I really appreciate that.” I also told him that I saw him when I was in line to meet Justin and he said, “Oh yeah, I saw you too. Was I creepin on you?” and he did the dougie! Then he asked if I wanted to get a picture so we took pictures with everyone and we high fived Tyler! I don’t really know what I was thinking. Everyone we met was SO nice! That night, all of my dreams came true. Everything that happened was so unreal. It felt like a dream. That was definitely the most magical and incredible birthday that anybody could ever dream of. Justin is so sincere and so is everyone else that I met that night. -@FallforJBiebs6 Originally posted here: Hi, my name is Chloe. First of all I can’t believe I’m sitting…

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie announced a key player today. Sadly, it’s not the actors cast as Christian or Ana, but screenwriter Kelly Marcel will play a huge role in bringing the erotic young adult novel trilogy to life. Marcel was the creator of Terra Nova and penned the new Disney film Saving Mr. Banks , which stars Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson and Colin Farrell. The Fifty Shades of Grey movie offers quite a departure from that in terms of subject matter, but producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti lauded her abilities. ” Kelly’s work demonstrates her flawless structural technique and passionate commitment to emotion, humor and depth of character,” De Luca said in a press release. Brunetti adds, “We were all taken with the depth and passion of Kelley’s engagement with the characters and world E.L. James created … we knew she was the right person.” Speculation over who the right person is for the lead, billionaire character and his young female paramour has run rampant online for months on end. Just a few of those recently rumored for the respective, racy roles: Ryan Gosling, Lucy Hale, Emma Watson, Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel . None have been cast … yet. Who’s your dream Fifty Shades duo? Tell us below! Who should play Christian Grey in 50 Shades? It’s not after every interview that you stand up to leave and then your subject drops a bomb that changes how you see them, but at Fantastic Fest anything goes. So I was amused when, after talking opening night selection Dredd 3D (in theaters nationwide on Friday), lower jaw acting, and Indiana Jones baby names with actor Karl Urban , he mentioned he’d read my stuff. “Even the one where you said I have no charisma,” he laughed. Mea culpa , Karl. Months ago I’d written my reaction to the very first Dredd 3D trailer. “With Urban set to never take off that Dredd mask in the film — and delivering lines like ‘I’m the law’ with no trace of Sly’s charisma — this feels like a precursor to the RoboCop reboot, only with less emotion,” I opined . (Technically I never said Urban himself lacked charisma, but still .) Later I caught the film’s world premiere screening at Comic-Con and was pleasantly surprised to see how the film, directed by Pete Travis from a script by Alex Garland, navigated my concerns with strong performances by its cast — including, yes, Urban and his Judge Dredd grimace. It turns out Urban not only is one charismatic dude in person (and onscreen, as his recent work as Bones in Star Trek attests quite plainly, and with his full face exposed!), he’s got quite the sense of humor. I offered to reconsider my stance if he gave Fantastic Fest karaoke a whirl following tonight’s Dredd 3D premiere, but the truth is in that moment I already had. So, for the record: Karl Urban — charisma for days. Karaoke skills — to be determined. Enjoy our chat below and stay tuned for more from Fantastic Fest! You’ve been in many geek-oriented properties but it was nice to see you dive into Comic-Con full on, and now Fantastic Fest, which is my favorite time of year. It’s good fun. I guess I only get to experience a small fraction of it. Well, you’ll experience it tonight when they take you to karaoke. [Laughs] Oh, no. That would be a bad move. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, there aren’t many musicals on my resume. That’s true! Why is that? Yeah, why is that? If you see me at karaoke you’ll find out why. Well — let’s jump into Dredd . Stallone’s version, which is quite different from your new one, came out 17 years ago. Where were you when it hit theaters? I was living in Auckland. And Judge Dredd as a character was dear to me. I read it as a kid. I responded to the sort of tough, enigmatic lawman who is essentially a Man With No Name Western archetype — The Man With No Face. Yes, essentially — an enigma in many ways, but defined by his actions. The character and the comics were something that I read, but I went along for the movie. As a fan of the comics how did you respond to the movie? I think that film was very much a product of its time. You know, the way that comic book adaptations were treated in the ‘90s is quite different from how they’re treated now, and tonally our films couldn’t me more different. We’re a lot grittier, a lot more realistic, a lot more futuristic and less sci-fi. And the character is actually quite different. Dredd in our movie is a bit more monolithic, he’s a bit more stoic. He’s a man of few words but he’s got a great dry sense of humor. I think he’s like a tightly-wound coil that is ready to leap forth at any given point, but the character is also compassionate — you can see that in when he chooses not to kill people. And there’s a wariness about him which also humanizes him. Essentially I think the biggest humanizing factor is that relationship with Anderson. That, to me, is the heart of the movie. In the beginning of the film Dredd is so consistent, and that consistency is one of his virtues — but over the course of the film he learns to be flexible, and learns to value life so much more. Exactly. That’s what I liked about it. The heart of this piece is this story of two people who get together, a senior cop and a rookie cop, they don’t like each other, they don’t particularly get on, and Dredd doesn’t think that she’s worthy of even wearing the uniform. But over the course of the film that changes, and I find that really interesting – for a guy who sees the world in such black and white terms and who often has to make a decision that results in life or death actions, to suddenly be confronted with the idea that he could actually be wrong about this person, I could be wrong about this situation… suddenly there’s this whole gray area and what happens in the story is a tiny crack in Dredd’s worldview. He does something at the end of this film that he would never do, that he would have difficulty explaining or justifying to anyone else, but he knows it’s the right thing to do. I found that to be so interesting in Dredd — so much of the film is filled with violence, and so much of the action looks “cool” as action movies do these days, but what I came away from the film was the feeling of the loss of life. It is, and it’s interesting that you should speak of that because I think it really does evoke a certain sadness. This is what humanity has degenerated into, and I think great science fiction films have that tone. Look at the sadness throughout Blade Runner ; it’s the same with Dredd , the state of humanity and often the choices that people within the film who live in Peach Trees [tenements], the choices they make. Alex Garland mentioned that he spent a while going back and forth on the script and that you added your own notes as well — how did that work out? It was a truly collaborative experience — one of the most collaborative experiences I’ve ever had. Alex, when he came onboard to write this, immediately contacted John Wagner, the creator of Dredd . A couple of months later Alex delivered a script and one of John’s few notes was, “Dredd says less.” So Alex in his next draft incorporated that note, cut down the dialogue, and we got to Cape Town. Three weeks before we’re shooting Alex and I sit down for a script meeting and I open up my page and Alex sees these lines that I’ve drawn through his dialogue. He looks at it quizzically and I say, “Look, I love this dialogue — but Dredd says less.” So from even there on we sat down and reduced it. I was lucky to be working with a writer who wasn’t precious, who could see the value in economy. And that’s one of the things in Dredd — the economy of movement, the economy of speech. That seems like it might be unusual for an actor to voluntarily reduce his own dialogue, but then you took on a role where most of your face is obscured. Was that a hard choice to make? Was there any hesitation knowing that people might only see your jaw? No, I guess I was blinded by the affinity I felt for the character. I didn’t really start this by approaching it from a perspective of fear, a how the fuck am I going to do this? It was just like, Okay, this is a challenge. What have I got to work with? Is there a secret to acting just with your jaw? Well it’s not actually just acting with your lower face. You’re using your voice and your physicality, how you do something. If you think about the massacre that occurs in this film, the loss of innocent life. At that juncture you can see a violent gear shift within Dredd and the way he treats Wood Harris’ character, the perp-prisoner, Dredd gets a little off the leash at that point and that’s an emotional response to what’s just gone on. That’s a good point. Can we also talk about the female characters in the mix? Lena [Headey] as the big boss is a wonderfully complex, ferocious character. The women in this film are bad ass. They are dominant and proactive and smart and scary and formidable. Lena is so compelling to watch, particularly to work with; she made choices that are so left-field and scary as a result. And of course Olivia does such an extraordinary job of bringing a humanity to this whole story; she’s a key way into Dredd, but she humanizes the story with her vulnerabilities and her insecurities and you see her grow — she becomes empowered, she becomes a tough and badass judge. You’ve been in Star Trek and comic book movies and, tell me if this is right — I read that you named one of your children after Indiana Jones? My wife, actually, had the dibs on that one. I got to name the first son. But we were watching Raiders of the Lost Ark and it was the scene where Marion’s been abducted by the Arab swordsman and she’s in the basket going, “Indy!” We were sitting on the couch like, Indy — let’s do that. So yeah, he’s named after a famous abduction. [Laughs] I go to him sometimes, “Doctor Jones!? Have you brushed your teeth, Doctor Jones?” And he loves it. His nickname is Jones. Given all that I’ve wondered if you’ve taken to messing with the media when it comes to Star Trek spoilers . Are you messing with us? No! I don’t believe I messed with you. I promised exclusive footage at Comic-Con, and I gave exclusive footage. I didn’t lie! Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .
