Isht is real out here in these streets. Gunman Kills Man Associated With 50 Cent’s G-Unit Prayers go out to this man’s family and 50 Cent’s G-Unit camp. According to NY Daily News: A rapper with close ties to 50 Cent was shot and killed Friday when a gunman in a black ski mask unloaded on an SUV full of people in Queens, police said. Mazaradi Fox, 42, whose real name is Jamal Green, was killed when the shooter rolled up to a white SUV and opened fire. Police sources said Fox stumbled out of the SUV and collapsed in a nearby driveway. He was a childhood friend of 50 Cent and a member of the rapper’s crew G-Unit. “50 Cent was in his New York studio and was saddened when he heard the news. He sends his condolences to Mazaradi’s family,” said a rep for 50 Cent. “We’re sorry to hear about the tragic news. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends,” said a representative for G-Unit. Black men are dying in these streets like it’s nothing. SMH.
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry is in hot water for making jokes about Mitt Romney’s adopted, African-American grandchild on the air last weekend. Melissa Harris-Perry: Sorry For Mocking Romneys’ Black Grandson The comments came during a segment in which a roster of comedians were riffing on notable photos from the past year, and things went off the rails. A photo of the Romney family with Mitt’s latest grandchild, Kieran Romney, who is adopted and African-American, on Mitt’s knee, sparked laughter. “One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just isn’t the same,” sang out Pia Glenn, one of Harris-Perry’s guests on the show. Harris-Perry herself said she would like to see the “gorgeous” child and North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, get married some day. “Can you imagine Mitt Romney and Kanye West as in-laws?” she said. This apparently incongruous sight had everybody on-screen giggling, but the capper was provided by comedian Dean Obeidallah, who quipped: “It sums up the diversity of the Republican Party and the [Republican National Committee], where they have the whole convention and they find the one black person.” While the imagery of Mitt and ‘Ye as in-laws is pretty hilarious, using a child of a public figure in a political jab (pertaining to race no less) is in pretty bad taste. Conservative blogger Caleb Howe wrote, “He’s not a child adopted by loving parents prepared to provide him with a better life in keeping with the family’s values.” “Nope. He’s just a token. A punchline, not a person.” Sarah Palin was more pointed, writing, “Holy unbelievable. The hypocritical leftist lamestream media should be shamed by every caring, child-loving American.” Incredibly, this wasn’t just an off-the-cuff remark. The segment was pre-planned, leaving conservatives outraged that someone thought this was a good idea. With Phil Robertson returning to Duck Dynasty , the media seized on this latest left-right controversy and the umbrage rising against the MSNBC host. Harris-Perry apologized this morning, Tweeting, “I am sorry. Without reservation or qualification. I apologize to the Romney family #MHPapology” Yes … she appears to have added a touch of self-promotion in the form of that ridiculous hashtag to an apology that otherwise would’ve sounded sincere. Compared to her guests, though, she was downright contrite . Pia Glenn apologized to families with adoptive children but defended herself vociferously. Dean Obeidallah, meanwhile, apologized to the baby if the baby was offended, then went on the offensive, noting that the right is just as insensitive. “I’ll apologize to the Romneys but not the wing nuts,” Obeidallah writes in a Daily Beast column Tuesday titled “Confessions of a Romney Baby Bully.” And the 24/7 political/media wars raged on into 2014 …

Ignorance is a disease . P.R. Exec Tweets Racist Joke According to NY Daily News: It’s sounding more like OK Stupid. The communications director for media conglomerate IAC which represents brands like OKCupid is in boiling water after publicly tweeting a racist joke that’s getting few if any laughs. Sacco, whose represented brands also include Vimeo and CollegeHumor, was not immediately available for comment. But her boss was. “This is an outrageous, offensive comment that does not reflect the views and values of IAC,” the company, operated by billionaire media executive Barry Diller, said in a statement to The News. “Unfortunately, the employee in question is unreachable on an international flight, but this is a very serious matter and we are taking appropriate action.” What that appropriate action may be for the public relations head, who describes herself as a “troublemaker on the side” on her Twitter account, may not be known until she lands. Meanwhile public outrage over her dubbed “worst tweet of year” was seen piling high with one vengeful twitter user publishing her cell phone number online. “She gon get that message I left,” Twitter user 070180 wrote after snagging the digits. When asked by another user what that message was, he replied: “That from this day forward she will never feel comfortable around us. Because of her actions. Not ours.” Nothing says “we think her comment is outrageous” like firing her azz.
This is disgusting. Man Beats And Has Forced Sex With Elderly Woman They need to throw him underneath the jail for attacking a woman who couldn’t defend herself. According to NY Daily News: A Pennsylvania teen was arrested Friday after he allegedly attacked and had forced sex with a 70-year-old nun in a church parking lot, authorities said. Andrew Bullock, 18, admitted to assaulting the elderly victim, police told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He was arraigned Friday night and faces at least 10 charges including felony forced sex, aggravated assault and sexual assault. The nun was walking in the parking lot of St. Titus Church in Aliquippa, Pa., around 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning when a man came up to her from behind. He asked her if she needed help before exposing himself and the grabbing her neck and choking her on the ground. Police said the attacker also punched and sexually assaulted her. The nun’s injuries left her unable to speak when police arrived, so she wrote on a piece of paper that she had been assaulted, the Post-Gazette reported. The victim, who is a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, suffered a broken jaw and was treated at Allegheny General Hospital, according to KDKA. She is reportedly in stable condition. Investigators said they were able to match the soles of Bullock’s shoes with a footprint found in the snow at the scene of the attack. SMH. Aliquippa Police
Where’s the justice? White Cop Aquitted of Killing Black Man During Hurricane Katrina Aftermath Another cop who got away with unjustly killing a young black man. According to NY Daily News: A federal jury on Wednesday acquitted a former New Orleans police officer of fatally shooting a man without justification outside a strip mall in Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath. Jurors for David Warren’s retrial deliberated for 12 hours over two days before acquitting him of a civil rights violation and a firearm charge stemming from the September 2005 shooting death of 31-year-old Henry Glover, whose body was later burned in a car by a different officer. After the verdict was read, Glover’s sister started wailing and had to be carried out of the courtroom. Warren’s family fought back tears. Several jurors also wiped away tears as they left the courtroom. Warren’s family embraced each other. “Oh my gosh, I can’t even get it in my head,” Kathy Warren — David’s wife and mother of their five children, who range from 8 to 15 years old — told a relative who hugged her after the verdict. Warren’s lawyers said he would be released Wednesday from the courthouse and go home with his family. Warren testified Monday that he feared for his life when he shot Glover because he thought he saw a gun in his hand as he and another man ran toward the building he was guarding. Prosecutors, however, said Glover wasn’t armed and didn’t pose a threat. Defense attorney Richard Simmons said the case was always about “a policeman’s worst nightmare, that split-second decision.” “The benefit of the doubt has to go to the officer,” Simmons said, adding that “there’s no winners or losers, there’s just survivors.” We feel for the family. Miley Cyrus Leading in Time Magazine’s Person Of The Year Poll It appears that if bad twerking can get you on the VMAs, it can get you anywhere. According to Radar Online: In a new Miley Cyrus outrage, the twerking star is currently leading in a Time magazine person of the year reader poll! Incredibly, Cyrus, 21, is getting 29 percent of the vote with fans considering her more newsworthy than President Barack Obama, or Pope Francis, Entertainment Weekly reports. And the New York Daily News writes that the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s nearest competition, Indian politician Narendra Modi, is ten percent behind in the voting for the prestigious poll. But those who are appalled by the pop star’s wild behavior should rely on cooler heads prevailing at the prestigious magazine. According to the rules, Time’s actual person of the year is decided by the publication’s editors.
