Never trust Gary Oldman again . While on the press circuit for The Book of Eli in 2009, Commissioner Gordon told reporters that Christopher Nolan would begin shooting Batman 3 this year with an eye toward a 2011 release. Bzzzt! Not according to Michael Caine. The coolest actor alive — seriously, right guys? — told reporters at the London premiere of Inception that Nolan was planning to shoot his sequel to The Dark Knight in April. Take that with the giant grain of salt it deserves, but hey — an April shoot could mean the finished product will be hit theaters just in time for the superhero apocalypse in the summer of 2012. Andrew Garfield, get ready to shake in your Spidey-tights. After the jump, video of Caine — who also offers a slight spoiler on his role in Inception .

We had a feeling Alex Wong’s prognosis was grim after that ACL injury he suffered in rehearsals, and when he didn’t dance with the rest of the contestants at the top of the results show, our suspicions were confirmed: He’s far too injured to continue competing on So You Think You Can Dance . Jesus, God, why? He was going to win this damn thing following a final match-up with Billy Bell, who would’ve pulled out all the stops and danced as 14 different cats (from tabby to tiger) in 60 seconds. Since that final duel is now impossible, let’s revisit Alex Wong’s best routine of the season and weep to our loved ones about his exquisite lines, touching commitment, and that time the wardrobe department made him wear a FUBU costume.

The LP — which has already sold 500,000 copies internationally — features 10 tracks, including a Passion Pit collabo. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lady Gaga in “Telephone” Photo: Interscope Lady Gaga’s fans in the U.S. will finally be able to pick up the pop star’s collection of revamped hits, Lady Gaga — The Remix when the album hits stores Stateside on August 3. The album — which features reworked hits from production stars such as Madonna collaborator Stuart Price and artists like dance-pop band Passion Pit — has already sold more than 500,000 units internationally. The album features 10 tracks from Gaga’s albums The Fame and The Fame Monster. Gaga’s Little Monsters can bump remixed versions of hits like “Alejandro,” “Bad Romance,” “Just Dance,” “LoveGame,” “Paparazzi,” “Poker Face” and “Telephone.” Lady Gaga — The Remix should allow fans to experience the ubiquitous singer’s major hits in a new way. Mother Monster is already cementing her superstar status by becoming the first living person to collect more than 10 million Facebook fans , a staggering figure that even bests President Barack Obama (Gaga also has more Twitter followers and YouTube subscribers than the prez). The album should tide over Gaga’s fans until the pop star unleashes her follow-up to The Fame Monster. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel: The star recently revealed that she has finished recording her next album . “I’ve been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished right now,” Gaga told Rolling Stone. “It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day.” Will you pick up Gaga’s remix album when hits the States? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Lady Gaga

Follow two Little Monsters as they head to Gaga’s concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden. By Rebecca Macatee Lady Gaga Photo: Derek Storm/ Splash News Oh. My. Gaga. I’m still dancing, sparkling and “showing my teeth” after Lady Gaga’s epic show at Madison Square Garden last night. My friend Liz and I went in full “glitter and grease” attire to Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball. After accumulating Gaga garb for months, the time had come for us to finally unleash our inner monsters. We went to Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball at Radio City Music Hall back in January, where I’d worn leggings, a conservative leotard and clip-on bangs. Compared to the racy getups of her other fans, I was totally tame and felt a tad underdressed! For this show, I wanted to go in a full costume of Gaga-inspired glory. I started with a simple, black leotard. (We’re in the midst of a heat wave here in NYC, and honestly, who wears pants to see Lady Gaga?!) At the hardware store, I insisted on trying on 9 feet of chains, which I would wrap around my body and safety-pin into place. (I was going for that whole prisoner look Gaga rocks in her “Telephone” video .) A partial weave would not suffice for Gagaloo round two, so I searched high and low for a bright, Mother Monster-inspired, canary-yellow wig. Fishnets and bejeweled, fingerless gloves were a given. Liz wore glitter-covered high heels and a provocative mesh leotard, dyed the tips of her hair hot pink and drew on a “Just Dance”-inspired lightning bolt underneath her right eye. A girl can never be too sparkly. Liz and I got ready for the show in my small, sweltering apartment, spending extra time on our dramatic makeup that would undoubtedly melt off our faces before the night’s end. We clonked down six flights of stairs from my walkup to the street wearing 5-inch heels, and definitely got some confused stares from passersby. Our giddy anticipation and adrenaline escalated as we cabbed to the arena, belting out “Alejandro” and dancing in the backseat. The moment we stepped out of the taxi and into the crowd of Little Monsters waiting to enter MSG, we instantly fit in. Confused stares and questioning side-glances were replaced with celebration and camaraderie among new friends. There were men in S&M getups, women with lacy headdresses and sequin gowns, young kids in pleather and everything in between. An indescribable, excited energy united us all. Gender, race, sexual orientation and class truly disappeared, and on this night, we each felt like the guest of honor at a giant, judgment-free party. Liz and I made it to our seats just in time to see Gaga take the stage. The crowd screamed wildly for the iconic woman who proudly “brings all the freaks together.” She defies convention not only with her wardrobe, but with her unapologetic attitude. The costume changes, dancing, piano-playing and sheer talent are an amazing, theatrical spectacle to watch, but the real genius of the Monster Ball is Gaga’s ability to make her audience feel like an integral part of the show. In a sold-out arena of thousands, Gaga is able to make every person feel an intimate connection to her and to each other. Her message is inspiring and uplifting, adamantly telling her beloved Little Monsters to believe in themselves. It’s not the clich
‘I look at it as a blessing,’ he tells Mixtape Daily of the Cali Swag District dance craze. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Rahman Dukes Doug E. Fresh Photo: MTV News Cornerstone Credentials: Doug E. Fresh Doug E. Fresh has been exciting the crowds since he had a curly flattop and a Bally’s jacket — the man just doesn’t age. Not only does he remain a relevant performer 30 years later by touring around the globe all year ’round, but his younger peers are keeping his name on the radio by putting his moniker in their songs. Lil’ Wil dropped “My Dougie” — which, of course, is slang for being fresh — a couple of years ago, and in 2010, the youngsters have been all about the Cali Swag District dance anthem “Teach Me How to Dougie.” “I look at it as a blessing,” Fresh said about getting props from a younger generation of artists. “It surprises me too. I was talking about it yesterday with some of my friends. Every year, it seems to be another song, another thing with the dance or something. I always say, ‘Man, the Creator is preparing me for something. He’s keeping the sun on me for some reason. He’s keeping me aligned with that generation.’ Because I genuinely love people, I love hip-hop, and I love using it as a tool to communicate and to create a better vibration. Life is short. I guess I’m lined up for a reason. I’m coming up with new music, I’m in the best shape of my life, I’m real sharp, my energy is strong. I look at it as: I’m just following the energy. That’s how I sum that up.” Fresh is working on a slew of projects to keep up his momentum. “My sons, they go by the name of Square Off,” he said. “I enjoy helping. I have new music coming out. I’m working on some television shows. I still do a tremendous amount of concerts. I’m doing my restaurant. I got a club coming in New York. The restaurant is called Doug E. The club is called Fresh. It’s a lot of different things going on. I’m developing a couple of real-estate projects. I’m looking forward to doing things with different artists. Me and Pharrell are doings some things. Teddy Riley, Timbaland, probably me and Will.I.Am. It’s gonna be nice, man. It’s a blessing. I’m going to bring in different people who can enhance the energy I’m coming with. I don’t wanna bring in people for name recognition. I wanna get them because the energy lines up. There will probably be some new artists on the project. My sons Square Off, they’re gonna be on the project.” Fresh was out in the New Orleans during Fourth of July weekend for the Essence Music Festival , and he said the annual extravaganza is something he looks forward to every year. “Essence is something I always enjoy, because I love New Orleans,” the vet said. “Since they brought it back to New Orleans, it’s a special place to me. We been doing it since the beginning. We did it when it was in Houston, but there’s nothing like New Orleans. This year, it’s special. It’s a good vibe out here. I’m just glad to see so many of us get together for something positive. “I think the rebuilding of the city has to start with the spirit first,” Fresh added. “So the music, the vibe, the connection spiritually with the artists. Everybody out here is the main key. A lot of people are still in a lot of tough situations. My heart still goes out to the people of New Orleans. I still got a lot of love for the people who haven’t made it back to New Orleans. It’s a process. The first step is to spiritually line yourself up with good and doing greater things beyond yourself and helping brothers and sisters get themselves on their feet. Through us coming here, it creates jobs. It creates opportunities, and it brings money to the city. That doesn’t hurt. It helps.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .

More and more people are going gaga for Lady Gaga … online. Buoyed by outrageous costumes and smash hits like “Bad Romance,” “Just Dance,” “Poker Face” and “Alejandro,” she’s become one of the biggest names in music. And the biggest name on Facebook among all living beings. Friday, she surpassed 10 million fans on the social networking site, eclipsing President Barack Obama for the top spot (Britney Spears has the most Twitter fans). The possible alter ego of Jo Calderone is only #1 among the living, of course. According to USA Today, five entities have more Facebook fans than Lady Gaga: Michael Jackson Texas Hold ’em Poker Family Guy Mafia Wars Facebook The rumored hermaphrodite told Rolling Stone that it’s her fans who motivate her: “When I wake up in the morning, I feel like any other insecure 24-year-old.” “Then I say, ‘You’re Lady Gaga, get up and walk the walk today.'” Amen. Well, that was a world of suspense. SYTYCD ‘s judges booted tapper Melinda Sullivan last night, not a day after Mia Michaels snarked, “We made a mistake last week and should’ve eliminated you.” Nigel Lythgoe at least pretended the technically imperfect Melinda had a chance at survival and refrained from saying, “At this point we just need to shoot the rabid greyhound in the face, Melinda, if you will. Sorry, dear.” Oh, Melinda. You weren’t going to outshine Billy Bell or Robert Roldan in the dance-off, not with a tap or a hoof or a prayer. But you were a phenomenal dancer, just like your ancient, awesome mentor said — and according to the video we’ve posted after the jump, you apparently had a lot of you could’ve taught us.
