Noted monologist David Arquette is fine after being involved in a nasty head-on collision in Los Angeles. Swerving into another lane to avoid a car that had stopped short in front of him, the Scream 4 star plowed into another car coming in the opposite direction. Banged up and bloody, Arquette was taken to the hospital and released and now his publicist and his twitter (and really, aren’t they the same thing at this point?) say that he is fine, with Arquette tweeting “remember to wear your seatbelt – wish I was.” [ TMZ ]

David Arquette was involved a head-on collision this afternoon. He was injured and hospitalized but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. He was in W. Hollywood when his car veered into oncoming traffic. David was behind a car that stopped suddenly, causing him to swerve to avoid it. David then headed straight into oncoming traffic and slammed into a car going in the opposite direction. Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene. David Arquette on the ground after the car accident. [Photo: TMZ] The actor way to Burbank airport to board a private jet which was going to Las Vegas, for the grand opening of Sugar Factory, a candy store at the Paris Hotel. He was supposed to attend a party hosted by Kim Kardashian . That was not to be, as he was taken away by ambulance. A little bit later, officials said the drivers of both vehicles suffered minor to moderate injuries. Good news, in many respects, considering how bad a head-on crash could’ve been for Arquette and the other driver. We wish him a fast, full recovery. The “Black and Yellow” star followed up his breakout single, which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Roll Up.” When he spoke to MTV News late last year, he teased the song as a nod to his favorite pastime — his album is called Rolling Papers , after all. “The next single is called ‘Roll Up,’ surprisingly,” he coyly explained with a laugh. The song, however, is anything but smoke inducing: It’s more of the skirt-chasing variety. “I was trying to be funny, be clever as possible,” Wiz told us recently on the set of the video for “Roll Up.” “It’s for the chicks. It’s for guys to sing to chicks. And it’s just a fun song.” In the clip, directed by Jake Davis (Drake and Trey Songz’s “Successful”), Wiz said he is “courting a female that I’m into.” Instead of real-life love interest Amber Rose, however, the Pittsburgh rapper has his sights set on the female lead in the video, Bad Boy recording artist Cassie. “It’s really, really awesome,” Wiz said of her casting. After being named one of MTV News’ 11 for ’11 celebrities to look out for in the new year, Wiz has managed to put a lot on his plate. He’s gracing the cover of the new Rolling Stone , he’s scheduled to start the Green Carpet Tour next month, and he and Snoop Dogg are finishing up their “High School” movie and music joint effort. But first, Wiz has to drop his album — Rolling Papers , his major-label debut, is set for a March 29 release — after a long rise to stardom for the former underground favorite. “I been waiting to put an album out for a long time,” he said. “But I feel like now my sound, at this point, has grown and matured and it’s right where it needs to be at for people to get that perfect pull and debut album from me. Recently rehabbed actor’s car veered into oncoming traffic, TMZ reports. By Kara Warner David Arquette Photo: John Shearer/ Getty Images Actor David Arquette was involved in a head-on collision Friday (March 4) while driving in Los Angeles. According to TMZ , the recently embattled actor was driving in West Hollywood, California, when his car veered into oncoming traffic. A photograph posted on the site shows Arquette lying on his back in the grass with his eyes closed and his hands crossed over his chest. The gruesome description from TMZ reads that Arquette is allegedly injured, “lying on the ground right now — bleeding — as fire trucks are racing to the scene.” Given the developing nature of this report, there has been no official statement or comment released by the actor’s team that addresses Arquette’s current condition. The “Scream 4” actor has had a difficult few months beginning last October when he and his wife of 11 years, Courteney Cox, announced their plans to separate . Since that announcement, Arquette spent time at a rehabilitation facility to deal with alcohol abuse and “other issues.” “Everybody’s worried and concerned about me,” Arquette said during one of a series of revealing interviews with friend and radio host Howard Stern. “I’ve been drinking a lot because I’m heartbroken. It’s really a personal, traumatic thing. … When I drink, I become a maniac.” Arquette had previously revealed to Stern details about his sex life with his ex and his distress over the separation. At the time he checked into rehab earlier this year, Courteney Cox told People magazine, “I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him.”
