Tone Trump Talks Signing With His ‘Favorite Rapper’ Young Jeezy

‘He said a few words, that I’m gonna keep private forever, that really touched my heart,’ Tone tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Ade Mangum Tone Trump Photo: MTV News Fire Starter: Tone Trump Essential info : It’s no secret that Philadelphia is a hotbed for hip-hop talent. In the 1980s, it was Schoolly D who helped put Philly on the map with his 1986 hip-hop classic “P.S.K. What Does It Mean?” Of course, the Fresh Prince followed a few years later, then the Roots. In the late 1990s, Jay-Z introduced Beanie Sigel to the world, and Maybach Music’s Meek Mill is currently the city’s most recognizable rap figure. Still more and more raw rap talent continues to break out of Illadelphia’s borders, and the latest contender, Tone Trump, was handpicked by Young Jeezy . These days, a street rapper can’t get a bigger co-sign. “A couple of days ago, I officially signed my deal with Young Jeezy, CTE World, and [it’s been] a lot of years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, risking my life,” Trump told Mixtape Daily when he was in New York on Wednesday. “I make street music and I just signed with the biggest street artist in the world.” “It would’ve been a dream come true to get a so-called record deal with any label probably, but not too many artists get to sign with their favorite rapper or their favorite artists,” he said with much admiration. “When I was in the mix and coming up in the grind, his music got me and mines through a lot.” After TT and the Snowman collaborated on Trump’s 2011 street single “Afghan,” rumors began to swirl of a CTE signing, but the pair finally announced their union earlier this week. Jeezy, Trump and their now-unified crews celebrated over drinks. “It was a toast; it was a boss’ toast,” Tone said, setting the scene. “Snow, he bought about 40 bottles for the whole crew and it was like all ros

When The Checks Still Come In But They’re MUCH Smaller: Chad Ochocinco’s New England Patriots’ Contract Cut From $3 Milli to $1 Milli

In case you were wondering NFL stands for “Not Financially Liable” The New England Patriots Restructure Chad Ochocinco’s Contract When the Bengals traded Chad Ochocinco to the Patriots, the receiver was set to make $6 million for the 2011 season. With New England, though, he restructured his deal to make it a three-year, $11.5 million deal (he did, however, end up making that original amount thanks to bonuses). And he seemed fine with taking a smaller base salary for the chance to play for the Patriots. Now, after a less than stellar season in which he caught 15 passes with only one touchdown — and disappeared for long stretches of the season — Ochocinco again has restructured his deal. And again, he seems fine with making less money. According to the Boston Herald, Ochocinco will make $1 million for the 2012 season instead of the $3 million he was scheduled to earn, and for a guy who had a good chance to be cut following the Super Bowl (or even before), Ochocinco supposedly is motivated to become a top-notch receiver instead of what he appeared to be last season — a 33-year-old who had nothing left. “Chad has unfinished business,” his agent Drew Rosenhaus told the paper. “He has unfinished business with the Patriots. They were very generous to him last year, and he’s interested in giving the team his best. He feels with a(n) offseason, with a great offseason, the lockout hurt him, it’s a tough system, he’ll learn the system, he’ll get accustomed to it, and I think he’ll do a lot better. So, he’s excited. He’s ready to make an impact.” Ochocinco made virtually no impact last season in New England, and he was benched for part of the playoffs. Whether it was because Ochocinco couldn’t handle the intricacies of the Patriots offense or whether it was a chemistry issue with Tom Brady or whether it was an issue with Ochocinco’s physical skills (and how much they might have declined from 2010 to 2011), Ochocinco simply couldn’t make himself relevant in New England. Says Chad’s agent Drew Rosenhaus about his performance: “With the lockout, he missed all of the offseason program,” Rosenhaus said. “We represent a lot of guys who have played in that offseason over the years … and it’s a very tricky offensive system to learn. And it’s very precise. Now, Chad has all offseason, he’ll be in the workouts, so we’re excited about it.” Get it together Chad, you have a very expensive wedding to pay for soon! Diddy Tops Forbes Richest Hip-Hop Artists List

Diddy has $550 million, followed by Jay-Z with $460 mill. By Gil Kaufman Diddy Photo: Getty Images Forget a milli, Diddy is working on a billi. The rapper, label mogul and celebrity endorser is inching closer to being rap’s first billion-dollar man according to the Forbes list of hip-hop’s wealthiest artists. The finance magazine’s “Forbes Five” short list of the richest rappers were already collectively worth over $1 billion. Diddy took the top spot with an estimated net worth of $550 million, which has been boosted lately by his deal with Ciroc vodka, which reportedly pays him in the double-digit millions thanks to his share of he profits from sales that have spiked over the last year by 122 percent. As a bonus, Diddy will earn a nine-figure payday if the brand is ever sold to another company. Diddy’s fortune is also fed by his stakes in the Sean John and Enyce clothing lines, as well as the Blue Flame marketing firm, his Bad Boy record label and pieces of a number of tech startups. But the magazine said his most recent deal is the one that could push him into the billionaire boys club. The mogul’s deal with Comcast to launch the Revolt cable channel — which he owns outright — in 2013 might be worth low-to-mid nine figures in the next few years. His pal Jay-Z is the next man up at an estimated $460 million. One of the few on the list who still puts out albums and tours, Jay continues to earn money from his music career, as well as the proceeds from the $204 million sale of his Rocawear clothing label in 2007. He pocketed plenty of change when he signed a $150 million deal with Live Nation in 2008 and gets added revenue from his stakes in the New Jersey Nets, his 40/40 club chain, the ad firm Translation and cosmetics company Carol’s Daughter. “Who’s going to be hip-hop’s first billionaire is still to be determined,” said ad man Steve Stoute, who founded and co-owns Translation with Jay-Z. “But clearly Jay and Puffy are far and away positioned to surpass that.” Third on the list is the rap icon who recently blew some minds by bringing back Tupac as a hologram
at Coachella, Dr. Dre . The legendary beat-maker and rapper has an estimated fortune of $270 million, doubling since last year thanks to the $300 million cellphone maker HTC paid to buy a 51 percent stake in his Beats Electronic business. Sources told the magazine that both Dre and partner Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine owned one-third of the company before the deal, putting Dre’s haul at $85 million after taxes, with his remaining stake worth around $100 million. Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman earned the #4 slot with an estimated $125 million fortune, mostly derived from the smash success of such artist as Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. He could creep up later this year when Cash Money’s deal with Universal is up and a bidding war could erupt over the right to distribute the label’s music. “One of my motivations in life is to be a billionaire,” said Birdman. “We’re going to keep working hard until we get our brand to be as big as possible. That’s the goal in life, that’s what I live for.” Business-savvy rapper 50 Cent rounds out the list at #5 with an estimated fortune of $110 million. He earned $100 million one the sale of his part of Vitaminwater in 2007 and he still rakes in tens of millions a year from record sales, touring and clothing, as well as acting jobs, 50-themed videogames, shoes, books and a new headphone line. Though the top five all have a shot at reaching the billion mark, with the recent $1 billion sale of Instagram inspired Stoute to say that it may not be Diddy or Jigga who reach the mountaintop first. “You don’t necessarily know, given what a guy like Kanye or will.i.am is capable of doing,” said Stoute. “In a world where people are creating applications that sell for a billion dollars, you never know who’s going to come out of left field.” Related Artists Diddy Jay-Z

Making It Rain On Them Hoes: Chad And Evelyn Soon-To-Be Ochocinco Are Reported To Make Only $300,000 A Piece For Basketball Wives Spinoff

Niiiiice *Fabolous voice* According to TMZ reports : Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada have signed their deal to do a “Basketball Wives” spinoff show with VH1 … and they each have 300,000 reasons to celebrate … TMZ has learned. According to our sources, filming on the new show will begin in the next few weeks, right after taping for “Wives” ends. We’re told the show will focus on the couple as they get ready to exchange vows this summer. Our sources say negotiations finally wrapped last week and the two will each take home $300,000 for about two months of work. As TMZ first reported, when Evelyn re-upped her contract with “Basketball Wives” last year, part of the deal called for VH1 to give her and Chad their own show. The show should be officially announced this week. 300 racks is no small change, especially in these economic times, but we kind of expected that number to be a lil’ higher considering that Evelyn is the engine in the Basketball Wives Bentley. Kim Kardashian Drops Some Artistic Cleavage

I don’t know what the deal is with these shots of Kim Kardashian , I guess this is supposed to be artistic or something, who knows, all I care about is that she’s showing off a hell of a lot of cleavage and I’m alright with it. I love that taking pictures of yourself in a bra has become mainstream, everybody’s doing it now, thanks Twitter nerds. I’m sure this is exactly what they had in mind when they created the site.
