105 Killed As Libyan Plane Crashed

A Libyan plane from South Africa crashed at Tripoli airport. The accident killed 105 individuals who are onboard. Among the 105 were 94 passengers and 11 crew members. According to the airport officials, the Afriqiyah Airways flight from Johannesburg had been due to land at 0610 local (0410 GMT). Unfortunately, the plane crashed close to the airport. The plane had been due to fly to Heathrow airport after its stopover in Tripoli. The 94 passengers on board are believed to be of different nationalities, including British and South African. Afriqiyah Airways Airbus 303 Crashed Killed 105 In Libyan Capital

As reported on Al-Jazeera television, a total of 105 people including 94 passengers and 11 crew members were killed in an air crash on Wednesday at Tripoli airport. Media reports that the Afriqiyah Airways Airbus 303 crashed at about 6:00 am (0400 GMT), killing 105 people on board. Operated by an Airbus A330 flying from Johannesburg to London, crashed on approach to Tripoli airport killing all 93 passengers and 11 crew, although a later report said a 8-year-old Dutch child was the sole survivor. According to the airport authorities, the Libyan plane, Flight 8U771, was flying from Johannesburg to Tripoli when the accident took place. It crashed during the process of landing. There were 93 passengers and 11 crews from the issued statement of the company to confirm the crash but said . The statement did not give details about the casualties and survivors. The airline was established in April 2001 and commenced scheduled services on 1 December 2001. It is wholly owned by the Libyan government and has 287 employees (at March 2007). The airline started off with Boeing 737-400 aircraft, but in 2003 introduced all Airbus equipment. Banana Gin Has Killed 80 People in Uganda

After drinking an illegal home-made banana gin laced with methanol has killed about 80 people in Uganda. Patrick Tusiime said that many people had died because relatives denied that victims were drinking the gin, known waragi. Deaths occurred over the past three weeks in the south-western Kabale district. Authorities were conducting a house-to-house search for the gin. Waragi is a drink across Uganda; they use this as an alternative alcohol because most of them cannot afford to buy an industrialized one. Almost 120 jerry cans of waragi were seized. All alcohol found were confiscated but people were stubborn and have found ingenious ways to hide it. Affected individuals became blind and suffered liver and kidney failure before dying. Yazoo City MS Tornado – State of Emergency says Mayor Straughter

A giant tornado is reportedly the cause of major destruction to Yazoo City MS and is reportedly still in danger. Yazoo City Mississippi is still in the state of shock but is in the process of declaring a state of emergency. Yazoo City MS Officials are already reporting two confirmed deaths and they expect more to come. It was said that this tornado punched a line right through the city of Yazoo MS and has left nothing behind. The Yazoo City Tornado was one of the biggest tornadoes of the year. Mayor Straughter said that the damage is still being assessed but he expects it to be an ugly picture. Houses, vehicles and people were said to all have been victim to the tornado’s rage. The Yazoo City MS tornado will likely have negative effects to this county. There are more areas currently that have tornado warnings and residents are advised to stay indoors or within tornado shelters under ground if they can.
