In a follow-up video, Mario deftly dodges a Koopa Troopa shell, ascends the Cheez-It wall and leaps to grap the flagpole and reach the Chex castle at last. Tough break today for former Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin in court. She lost an appeal and owes Miss USA $5 million for defaming the organization. Monnin resigned as Miss Pennsylvania last year, saying Miss USA contest was rigged – claims that did not hold water in the eyes of a judge. She claimed another contestant learned the top five finishers hours before the show, then turned in her crown when those contestants were named during the show. She posted a series of messages on Facebook and spoke publicly about her claims. Doanld Trump’s Miss Universe Organization sued her immediately. An arbitrator ruled against her in December, and determined that her allegations cost the pageant a $5 million fee from a potential 2013 sponsor. U.S. District Court Judge J. Paul Oetken upheld the decision. Monnin appealed, claiming the arbitrator overstepped his authority, his decision disregarded law, and she didn’t know the hearing was taking place. The judge disagreed on each of those grounds. Sheena Monnin , of Cranberry, Pa., said in a Facebook post Thursday evening that she is glad the truth is out there, regardless of the outcome. “This is not about me being a ‘sore loser’ or wanting my ’15 minutes of fame'” she wrote, sticking by a story that has been widely disregarded. “This is about the MUO’s admission under oath that they manipulate the judges’ results to suit their own ends. This is not what they advertise to the public.” Miss USA organizers think Monnin resigned because she disagreed with a decision to allow transgender contestants, then sought to trash the pageant. They made public text from an email Monnin sent citing the decision to allow natural-born males into the competition as the reason for her resignation. A transgender contestant was initially denied entry to the Miss Universe Canada pageant because she was born male, but Trump overruled that decision. Olivia Culpo of Rhode Island won the Miss USA pageant that year. Monnin wrote on Facebook page that her legal fees amount to more than $50,000 and she needed financial support, including a link for donations. Don’t hold your breath on that note, Sheena. Trump’s lawyer said he applauded the judge’s decision but was surprised Monnin stood by her story. “I’m shocked to see that she has yet to learn her lesson. I thought she would be smarter the second time around,” attorney Michael Cohen said.

The verdict is in, and Jodi Arias has been found guilty of murder. A jury found that she killed ex Travis Alexander in cold blood. Jordi Arias showed little emotion as the decision was read by a court clerk. As the jurors were polled, each affirming the guilty verdict, she fought back tears. Outside the Arizona courtroom, the gathered crowd cheered. Alexander’s family hugged each other after the verdict was read, a measure of closure at last after a grisly death and a sensational criminal proceeding. The trial now enters a penalty phase, with additional testimony and arguments, to decide if Arias should receive life in prison or the death penalty. The case featured a beautiful photographer who changed her story twice, ultimately claiming self-defense in the death of the man she once loved. Up against her was a bulldog prosecutor determined to prove Arias was a spiteful, jealous ex-girlfriend and vicious murderer, not to mention a pathological liar. “Throughout the whole thing, she has lied,” prosecutor Juan Martinez told the jury last Friday in closing arguments, and clearly, they believed him. Following a bad car accident over the weekend in the Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles, Kendra Wilkinson was rushed to the hospital. The ex- Playboy centerfold and Splash participant was released yesterday after an examination revealed no serious injuries, though insiders tell Us Weekly Kendra was “in shock” after the crash took place. A rep for the celebrity did not return calls for a comment, but the source confirms Wilkinson was discharged after a couple hours and is now home with husband Hank Baskett and son Hank Baskett IV. Wilkinson dropped out of the ABC diving competition a few weeks ago due to her fear of heights and, ironically, injury. She said the decision will haunt her forever . Mike Rice has been fired by Rutgers University. The move came one day after footage surfaced of Rice berating his players at practice, throwing basketball at their heads and hurling insults their way after perceived mistakes. Mike Rice Flips Out as Rutgers Players In an email today, the school referred to new information and “a review of previously discovered issues” as the basis for Rice’s termination. “I am responsible for the decision to attempt a rehabilitation of Coach Rice,” said athletic director Tim Pernetti. “Dismissal and corrective action were debated in December, and I thought it was in the best interest of everyone to rehabilitate, but I was wrong. Moving forward, I will work to regain the trust of the Rutgers community.” The Scarlet Knights finished 15-16 this season and 5-13 in the league. “There will never be a time when I use any of that as an excuse,” Rice said in an interview outside his house. “I’ve let so many people down. My players, my administration, Rutgers University, the fans. My family, who’s sitting in their house just huddled around because of the fact that their father was an embarrassment to them… “”I’m deeply sorry for the pain and the hardship that I’ve caused.”
