As voters head to polls in five primary states Tuesday, NewsOne decided to take a look at exit poll data from New York’s primary race on Tuesday to determine just who voted for Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, and what it likely means for the rest of the election season.
Three More Men Accuse Afrika Bambaataa Of Sexual Abuse After an explosive allegation that Afrika Bambaataa repeatedly sexually abused a man when he was a young boy, three more men have stepped forward with their own stories accusing him of sexual misconduct when they were children . Each man once thought they were the sole victim…but the news breaking inspired each to come forward… Via NYDN : Hassan Campbell and several other men told The News last week that they were sexually abused by Bambaataa, the South Bronx hip-hop pioneer whose 1982 hit “Planet Rock” helped turn rap music into an international phenomenon. The men stepped forward after The News published a story last Sunday about former music industry executive and Democratic Party activist Ronald Savage, who claims Bambaataa abused him at least five times in 1980, inflicting deep emotional wounds. “I know what Ronald Savage is saying is true because he did it to me,” said a 50-year-old New York man who requested anonymity. “I have never spoken to anybody about this and when I did, I said ‘Holy s—, they finally caught up to him.’” While Afrika and his Zulu Nation organization insist that these allegations are all part of plot by the US Government to discredit him and his work, more men — choosing to remain anonymous — corroborate the claims with stories of their own: A 51-year-old former New Yorker named Troy, who asked that his last name not be used in this story, told The News Bambaataa abused him, too. “I still have a lot of anger about this,” said Troy, who lives in North Carolina. “I’ve been dealing with this for years. It’s a shame this didn’t come out earlier.” Campbell and Bambaataa’s other accusers all say the music star showed them pornographic pictures or videos and then performed oral sex on them. “He showed me a book with a picture of a penis and said, ‘You don’t have to be gay for me to suck your d—,” Troy said. SMH. This situation is looking very “Cosby-ish” right now. We wonder how many more men will come forward to tell their own stories of abuse from Afrika… WENN
With more than 291 delegates up for grabs in New York in the Democratic presidential primary next week, front-runner Hillary Clinton and rival Bernie Sanders held dueling rallies Wednesday in the hopes of winning Tuesday’s early voting race, reports BBC.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was left off the ballot for the upcoming Washington, D.C. primary because of a registration error by the district’s Democratic Party, but the chairwoman is confident the candidate would appear on the slate, reports CNN Politics.
Caitlyn Jenner is probably not voting for Hillary Clinton this November. But that doesn’t mean Caitlyn Jenner can’t keep an open mind when it comes to the Democratic front-runner for President. Despite the fact that Caitlyn recently referred to Clinton as a f-cking liar , the 66-year old transgender reality star has posed alongside the Oval Office hopeful in an unexpected photo that’s making the Internet rounds this week. In the image featured above, Jenner actually has her arm around Clinton, while friends Zackary Drucker and Candis Cayne also smile for the camera. “#learningfrommygirls #willingtolisten,” Jenner captioned the group shot on her Instagram page. Those who watch I Am Cait online saw Caitlyn slam Hillary this past Sunday, as Caitlyn remains one of the more outspoken Republicans in Hollywood, even after her gender transformation. “I would never, ever ever vote for Hillary. We’re done – if Hillary becomes president, the country is over,” Jenner said passionately on the latest episode of her E! program. Later during the installment, Caitlyn said Clinton is a “political hack” who has accomplished “nothing.” Jenner made it clear a couple weeks ago that she would be voting for Ted Cruz … if he beats out Donald Trump on the Conservative side, that is. View Slideshow: Caitlyn Jenner Photos: So Long, Bruce! What a Year! Hillary, meanwhile, already has the support of Caitlyn’s step-daughter, Kim Kardashian , who has posed for multiple selfies alongside the candidate. Other stars who will be casting their votes for Hillary this fall include Katy Perry, Demi Lovato and Kerry Washington.
Black Voter Turnout Is Imperative To Keeping Donald Trump From Being Elected President RawStory taken the liberty of breaking down exactly why it is SO important that each and everyone of us do our civic duty and cast our votes. All of us, but especially black women… As the Democratic nominating contest speeds up, African-American voters – especially women – have some tough, and influential, choices to make. South Carolina is the first primary where African Americans are the majority of Democratic voters, controlling 55 percent of the vote. That makes South Carolina a battleground for black votes, especially those of African-American women. We know that victories in early primaries are important. Later voters often pick their candidate based on early primary outcomes. The South Carolina primary is perhaps as important as the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries because it could create momentum in subsequent contests where black votes will help candidates win. The following statistics explains exactly how influential the black vote can be and how detrimental it can be for us if we don’t… African-American voters are the most loyal supporters of the Democratic Party. Their support for Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore was 90 percent in 2000. In 2004, they voted for John Kerry by 88 percent. Barack Obama won an all-time high of 95 percent in 2008. According to exit polls, black voters were 13 percent of the national electorate in 2008. They represented approximately one in every 4.25 Obama voters that same year. Sixty-five percent, or 15.9 million, of voting-age African Americans cast a ballot in the general election, compared to 66.1 percent of white citizens. But, the voter turnout rate among eligible black female voters was 68.8 percent – the highest of all racial, ethnic and gender groups in the 2008 American presidential election. Especially in southern states with large black voting-eligible populations – including South Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina and Louisiana – the black female voter outperformed in terms of registration and turnout. Since 1996, this gender gap has been consistently present. African-American women voted at higher rates than African-American men by a range of 7 or 8 percentage points in 2008. That rate was even higher – about 9 percentage points – in 2012, which is 6 percentage points higher than other racial groups. All this is to say that we, as people of color, HAVE to have the same level of enthsiasm about voting in November as we did in 2008 when Obama was running for his first term. Anything less than that will lead to all of us watching “President Trump” take the oath in 2017… Image via Shutterstock
Ted Nugent Motown Black Man The little bit of mind rocker Ted Nugent had has just been lost. The conservative clown, who once called President Obama a “Chicago chimpanzee” and advised black parents to “teach their children not to attack people if they don’t want to die like Trayvon Martin,” has come out as a Black man. Via Washington Times “As a large, in charge, Motown black man my bad-self, who honed my Sonic Baptizm, soul-cleansing soul music on the greasy rhythm and blues of the musical funk and roll gods James Brown and Chuck Berry et al., and who learned and then perfected the fine art of American defiance from my hero Rosa Parks, I continue to celebrate nonstop all things good and black,” Mr. Nugent, who is white, wrote in an op-ed titled, “We blacks: Democrats’ modern-day slaves,” published by the conservative World Net Daily. “My motto has always been: Black is beautiful. Minimal exposure to my killer Detroit guitar playing would immediately reveal why I was voted the No. 1 Guitarist All Time in Michigan a few years back. No cracker can play like that!” he added. The 67-year-old “Cat Scratch Fever” singer kept with the peculiar theme throughout the entire piece, referring to black men and women as “my black brothers and sisters.” “It’s been over 50 years that the modern slave masters known as the Democratic Party created policies and programs designed to keep black folk down,” Mr. Nugent wrote. “The same scams it has been pulling off for the past 50 years: enticing black folk to look to Uncle Sugar for the cure when it’s been Uncle Sugar who has put black folk on the poverty plantation. “Black lives don’t matter to the Democratic Party. They just want our vote and in turn will continue their ruinous programs that have turned our communities into ghettos, destroyed our families and conned too many of us into a life of poverty,” he continued. “Black power begins with recognizing who our real enemies are and who are friends are,” he wrote. “The Democratic Party is nothing more than a pack of wolves festooned in shiny, white sheepskin. The Democratic Party has conned us into voting for them for decades, and in every instance, our votes for them have been against our own economic self-interest. “Black folk should reject the political con-artists of the Democratic Party in 2016,” he said. “We could then look back someday with pride and say that 2016 was the year we finally looked over the mountaintop and saw the promised land of economic freedom and prosperity. I can hardly get next to myself dreaming of that day. “Happy Black History Month anyway, America. Now let’s stop the Democrat scam and celebrate real freedom with a focus on our black future,” Mr. Nugent concluded. There aren’t enough seats in his world for this man to sit his old, racist, Rachel Dolezal-wannabe azz down.
Another round of political debates took place on Sunday night and this time, the Democratic presidential hopefuls were back in the hot seat. Per usual,…
