Fox News: Least Trusted Network or Most?

The Fox News Channel is by far the least-trusted television news source in the country, according to a new poll. However it is also the most trusted. How does that work, exactly? An annual study from Public Policy Polling, which indicated that 34 percent of Americans identify Fox News as the TV news outlet they trust most. In distant second place was PBS, with 13 percent, followed by ABC (12) followed by CNN (12), MSNBC (8), and “someone else/not sure” (7). However, asked for the news source they trust the least , 39 percent named … Fox News. MSNBC was next at 14 percent, followed by CNN (13). Perhaps this is indicative of the polarized climate we live in. “We continue to find that Democrats trust most news sources other than Fox, while Republicans don’t trust anything but Fox ,” said Dean Debnam, PPP President. The poll’s survey sample was 42 percent Democrats compared with 33 percent who were Republicans and 25 the other percent “independent/other.” The survey polled 800 registered voters. Fifty-one percent of those polled voted for President Barack Obama in the November presidential election. Broken down by party affiliation, Democrats trust PBS the most, followed by NBC then MSNBC. Republicans trust Fox News the most, followed by PBS and NBC. Fox critics jumped all over the least trustworthy angle, although if a survey with 42 percent Democrats also names it the most trusted, that also speaks volumes. It is what it is, you could say.

You Can’t Be Serious!! Boehner Tells Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid To “Go F— Yourself”!!!

This guy isn’t scared of nothin’! Via Politico … House Speaker John Boehner couldn’t hold back when he spotted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the White House lobby last Friday. It was only a few days before the nation would go over the fiscal cliff, no bipartisan agreement was in sight, and Reid had just publicly accused Boehner of running a “dictatorship” in the House and caring more about holding onto his gavel than striking a deal. “Go f— yourself,” Boehner sniped as he pointed his finger at Reid, according to multiple sources present. Reid, a bit startled, replied: “What are you talking about?” Boehner repeated: “Go f— yourself.” The harsh exchange just a few steps from the Oval Office — which Boehner later bragged about to fellow Republicans — was only one episode in nearly two months of high-stakes negotiations laced with distrust, miscommunication, false starts and yelling matches as Washington struggled to ward off $500 billion in tax hikes and spending cuts. The White House and Congress knew of the self-imposed deadline for more than 17 months and they still blew past it, as a president fresh off a strong reelection victory tested — and ultimately broke — the Republican Party’s fidelity to its tax-cuts-only governing philosophy. It took a late intervention of two Senate veterans — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Vice President Joe Biden — to rescue the negotiations. Their relationship, forged over two decades on Capitol Hill, helped move Congress to a resolution because it wasn’t burdened by the raw political conflicts of the past and the legislative fights still to come. But even those longtime Washington hands couldn’t prevent a New Year’s Day drama in the House. Boehner weathered a revolt against the bill, which played out during two meetings in the Capitol basement in which his fellow GOP lawmakers lashed out at having to accept the measure without spending cuts. After hours of uncertainty — even insults against “sleep-deprived octogenarians” from the Senate who passed the bill in the dead of night — the House gave final approval to the deal, 257-167. It was carried by 172 Democrats and 85 Republicans. And it exposed another split: Boehner voted yes, but his top deputies, Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy of California, voted no. We don’t think anyone’s too happy with the ‘deal’ these fools made…SMH. Images via facebook

Voters Back Colbert to Fill Vacant Senate Seat

South Carolina native Stephen Colbert is the top choice of Palmetto State residents to fill the U.S. Senate seat recently vacated by Jim DeMint, a new poll indicates. DeMint is stepping down to head a conservative think tank. South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will appoint a successor to complete DeMint’s term, which ends in 2014. That November, an election will be held … but until then it’s Haley’s call alone. According to Public Policy Polling, The Colbert Report host would be the most popular appointee . Colbert has already expressed interest in the vacancy, too. The Comedy Central staple has been asking viewers to tweet at Gov. Haley, a Republican who he calls a “friend of the show,” and lobby her to appoint him. The federal government would certainly become a lot funnier overnight. Could this really happen? Probably not, though Haley’s approval ratings are way down with Democrats and independents, so a PR coup might not hurt. Just saying. Colbert is famous for trying to insert himself into the political process. He attempted to run in this year’s South Carolina primary and started his own Super PAC. Should Stephen Colbert be appointed to the U.S. Senate?   Yes! He’s hilarious and smart, too! No, someone else! View Poll »

Give It Up Already: Ex-NH Governor John Sununu Blames Dependent Voters For Obama’s Win

If they keep blaming that “47%” for everything , how the hell are we supposed to move on as a nation?? According to The Huffington Post , John Sununu’s grumpy white azz isn’t ready to let this one go anytime soon: If Republicans are trying to shy away from the notion that America is divided between productive capitalists and dependent moochers, they forgot to tell John Sununu. The former New Hampshire governor and Mitt Romney campaign surrogate said Tuesday that Democrats and President Barack Obama won reelection by turning out the moochers. “They aggressively got out the base of their base, the base of their base that’s dependent, to a great extent economically, on government policy and government programs,” Sununu said at a forum with two other Republican governors, according to the Concord Monitor. Sununu’s comment recalled Romney’s infamous statement during the campaign that 47 percent of Americans are dependent on government and would vote for Obama no matter what. The remarks, delivered at a big-donor fundraiser in May, roiled the campaign. “There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent on government, who believe that, that they are victims, who believe that government has the responsibility to care for them,” Romney said. “I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.” As it happens, Romney’s former running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), repudiated that notion during an awards dinner in Washington on Tuesday evening. “Both parties tend to divide Americans into ‘our voters’ and ‘their voters,’” Ryan said, according to Politico. “Republicans must steer far clear of that trap. We must speak to the aspirations and anxieties of every American. I believe we can turn on the engines of upward mobility so that no one is left out from the promise of America.” Romney, for his part, initially defended his “47 percent” comment, then said he had been “completely wrong.” But after the election he returned to the idea, saying Obama won by giving “gifts” to blacks, Hispanics and young voters. This is coming from the guy that spent over $600,000 of taxpayer money, for private government jets for himself! SMH Images via facebook

President Obama to Mitt Romney: Lunch and Awkward Conversation?

President Barack Obama has invited vanquished rival Mitt Romney to lunch at the White House on Thursday. The food should be first-rate. The conversation? Exchanging substantive and constructive ideas isn’t really the point, of course; both parties likely just want a post- 2012 election public burying of animosities. White House spokesman Jay Carney announced the meal Wednesday in a statement: “It will be the first opportunity they have had to visit since the election.” There will be no press coverage, of course. Following his reelection, Obama said nice things about his ex-opponent, including that he’d like to sit down with him and hear Mitt Romney’s ideas about the economy. “He presented some ideas during the campaign that I actually agree with,” said Obama. It behooves Obama to be gracious, of course, having won just 51 percent of the vote. With large margins of Americans telling pollsters they want Democrats and Republicans to work together, the lunch offer is at least a nice gesture to that effect. It could set a tone of civil discourse that the administration may want to continue to project in the months ahead … okay, maybe not, but wishful thinking? For Romney, the White House lunch must be a far easier, and yet more difficult task. Only weeks ago he thought the Oval Office would be home. Now it’s just an exclusive club that deigned to admit him for an hour, and he can’t exactly turn down the offer. From his days as Massachusetts Governor, Romney clearly knows that Americans want their politicians to work together, and bolsters the Republican brand by appearing. Romney also needs to rebuild his status within the GOP, as well as within the country, following his loss and the claim that Obama won by giving people gifts . What we wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall …

Ashley Judd, Senator? Actress Eyes Run For Office

Although she hasn’t officially decided on it, actress and avid Democrat Ashley Judd isn’t ruling out a run for U.S. Senate in her native Kentucky. Judd lives in Tennessee and would have to re-establish residence in neighboring Kentucky before challenging Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. The 44-year-old says she’s honored to be mentioned as a potential candidate, but sidestepped the question of whether she would actually run in 2014 . “I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul,” she said. “While I’m very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let’s focus on coming together to keep moving America’s families, and especially our kids, forward.” No Democrats have stepped forward to challenge Republican McConnell, a political powerhouse who already has $6.8 million in the bank for his re-election. In 2008, he won re-election to a fifth term and became Kentucky’s longest serving senator. McConnell spent some $20 million on his last campaign, beating Democrat Bruce Lunsford, a wealthy Kentucky businessman, by 6 percentage points. His campaign manager Jesse Benton, withheld any criticism of Judd – at least for now. “Sen. McConnell and his wife are big fans of Ashley Judd’s movies and appreciate her energy, especially when it comes to bringing young people into the political process,” he said.  What do you think? Would Ashley Judd, a vocal proponent of President Obama’s 2012 reelection win , make a good candidate for U.S. Senate? [Photo: WENN.com]

Early Voting Results: Who’s Winning?

The 2012 presidential election is tomorrow, but plenty of states have early voting. At least 30 million people in 34 states have already cast ballots by mail or in person. That’s a huge percentage of the overall popular vote – about 120 million citizens cast ballots in 2008, when Barack Obama defeated John McCain. Four years ago, Obama’s good fortune was foreshadowed by a surge in Democrats voting early. He’s banking on the same enthusiasm in 2012. Will he get it? No votes will be counted until Tuesday, but some states are releasing the party affiliation of those who vote early – a pretty good barometer of who they picked. This doesn’t tell us who will show up tomorrow, of course, and these aren’t actual votes, but registered partisans tend to vote their party 90-plus percent of the time. Check out who’s voted early in various swing states thus far: Colorado                Votes: 1.6 million               Democrats: 35 percent               Republicans: 37 percent               Florida Votes: 4.3 million               Democrats: 43 percent               Republicans: 40 percent               Iowa                Votes: 614,000               Democrats: 43 percent               Republicans: 32 percent               Nevada                Votes: 702,000               Democrats: 44 percent               Republicans: 37 percent               North Carolina                Votes: 2.7 million               Democrats: 48 percent               Republicans: 32 percent               Ohio               Votes: 1.6 million               Democrats: 29 percent               Republicans: 23 percent

Out Of Pocket (Again): Ann Coulter Makes Racist ‘Freedom Riders’ Comment On Fox News

How many racist statements can this woman make in one week?? Ann Coulter’s at it again. The attention-loving slore knows how to say isht that will have people fuming and this is the third time this week that she’s made a disgusting statement. Sitting down for an interview on the right-wingers beloved Fox and Friends, Coulter was promoting her new book “Mugged”. In it, she claims that the left-wing is “racially biased” and slammed Chris Matthews for accusing Money Mitt and Repubs for playing the “race card” in order to get votes. “And the Democrats have a lot to be apologetic about,” she said. “They really do,” co-host Steve Doocy agreed. Coulter said that that he had to refer to “black people in other countries” because “here in America, he doesn’t have any black friends. He doesn’t have any black neighbors.” She said there was “not a black face” at Matthews’ son’s wedding, and said if that were true for a Republican, he would be “convicted of racism.” She also hit out at Rachel Maddow, who she claimed introduces her black guests as “wicked smart” or “special.”…”This is not a person that is comfortable around black people,” Coulter alleged. Ann continued, trying to crack a joke that only showed us just how racist she really is… “These are not people who have black friends, who know black people…Oh sorry, except for Lawrence O’Donnell and Bill Maher, who date black gals, so they think they’re freedom riders.” That’s some serious isht to say right there…and it doesn’t even make that much sense when you think about it…SMH We’re not sure how many Freedom Riders were swirlin’ but we’d like to thank ALL of them. They risked their lives so we could have a Voice today and the right to call this crazy b*tch out! Source Images via WENN
