Michigan Passes Law Requiring Welfare Recipients To Do Community Service Republicans in Michigan have passed a law that will now require welfare recipients to perform community service. via Battle Creek Enquirer State lawmakers passed bills Wednesday that would deny unemployment benefits to people who refuse to take drug tests required by employers. The conservative radio host told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren Tuesday that civil rights protests in the ’60s caused white residents to flee, with the Detroit’s first African-American Mayor Coleman Young largely to blame for causing the unrest in 1967, according to Limbaugh. “Detroit is left with nothing but liberal Democrats running it,” he said, adding the Michigan town was a “petri dish of everything the Democrat Party stands for,” with a preponderance of unions, pension and health care for people after they retire. A review of the interview by ThinkProgress pointed out that Young didn’t become mayor of Detroit until 1973, several years after the riots in 1967. Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, who is African-American, announced July 18 that the city of Detroit filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection in federal court. Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, who is white, called the move a “difficult step,” but the “only viable option to address a problem that has been six decades in the making.” Census data from 2010 shows 83% of Detroit’s total population is black — the highest percentage of African-Americans for any U.S. city. Mitt Romney on 47 Percent Comment: Taken Out of Context!

His infamous “47 percent” remark was taken out of context, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney tells The Washington Post in a new interview. The oft-cited quote was widely interpreted as the 2012 GOP nominee stating that 47 percent of Americans can’t be persuaded to take personal responsibility. Romney says that’s not what he was implying at all. Mitt Romney on Obama Voters “Actually, I didn’t say that,” he says. “That’s how it began to be perceived, so I had to ultimately respond to the perception, because perception is reality.” The Mitt Romney 47 percent comment was made at a May 2012 closed-to-the-press fundraiser in Florida, where he made his pitch to donors: “And so my job is not to worry about those people … I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.” “What I have to do is convince the 5-10 percent in the center that are independents, that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or the other.” Romney told the Post that the focus of his remarks was on swing voters , not on those who were already in President Barack Obama’s camp. “[I]t was saying, ‘Look, the Democrats have 47 percent, we’ve got 45 percent, my job is to get the people in the middle, and I’ve got to get the people in the middle.'” “They’ve got a bloc of voters, we’ve got a bloc of voters, I’ve got to get the ones in the middle. And I thought that that would be how it would be perceived.” Romney’s argument that the remarks were taken out of context is a new defense for him … and doesn’t quite explain the “care for their lives” bit. In the run-up to the election, Romney at first stood by the remarks, but said they were “not elegantly stated.” Later on he said they were “completely wrong.” Romney nonetheless acknowledged that the quote was “very damaging” to his campaign, and based on the 2012 election results , it’s hard to argue.

Report Shows Most Americans Believe Blacks Are More Racist Than Whites Are black folks really more racist than whites ??? Via Washington Times: Americans, by and large, see blacks as more racist than whites or Hispanics, a new survey said on Wednesday. But political ideology plays a large role in the findings, Rasmussen Reports said. Rasmussen found in its national telephone survey that 37 percent of U.S. adults believe blacks are racist, compared to 15 percent and 18 percent regarding whites and Hispanics, respectively, as racist. The report stipulated that the respondents were asked about ethnic groups in America, not around the world. Break down the survey by ideology, however, and the numbers are radically different. About 49 percent of conservative Americans consider blacks the most racist ethnic group, while 12 percent regard whites the most racist. And about 27 percent of liberal Americans saw whites as the most racist, and 21 percent, blacks. By political party: 49 percent of Republicans say blacks are the most racist; 29 percent of Democrats agree; and so do 36 percent of “unaffiliated” respondents. Rasmussen said: “Among black Americans, 31 percent think most blacks are racist, while 24 percent consider most whites racist and 15 percent view most Hispanics that way. Among white adults, 10 percent think most white Americans are racist, 38 percent believe most blacks are racist and 17 percent say most Hispanics are racist.” In general, only 30 percent of all Americans believe race relations in the United States are good or excellent, the survey found. Alex Jones Says Democrats Stole Election According to Raw Story Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones rang some familiar Republican talking points in a phone interview with Gun Owners of America president Larry Pratt, accusing Democrats of widespread voter fraud and speaking of immigration reform in fearful terms. “They stole the election. That’s what I’m worried about, Larry,” Jones told Pratt. “There’s so much election fraud now. They’re about to legalize the 30 million illegals. But they know this is their last shot, because America is starting to wake up.” Jones did not offer any evidence for his claim of election fraud. However past claims of fraudulent voting have already been debunked by not only non-partisan groups, but Republican strategists and even elected officials who have instituted measures seeking to restrict access to the polls. Jones also did not provide a source for his estimate on the number of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. Current estimates place that total at around 11 million people, a number which has been the baseline figure used during lawmakers’ current negotiations on the immigration reform bill proposed by a group of eight Republican and Democratic senators. For his part, Pratt accused President Barack Obama of being a “full-bore Marxist” who has centralized government power in the wake of his re-election in November 2012. “In his view, evidently, the fact that he barely got 50-plus percent of the vote means he can do anything he wants,” said Pratt of Obama, who defeated Republican Mitt Romney with 51.1 percent of the popular vote and 332 electoral college votes. “That he’s not the president in a constitutional republic where the president can do certain things and most things the president cannot do.” Alex Jones please have several seats.

Hide Ya Kids, Hide Ya Wife! 44 Percent Of GOP Wanksters Believe An “Armed Revolution To Protect Liberties” May Soon Be Necessary

No wonder we can’t get new gun control laws passed. SMH Via NYDailyNews reports : Think of it as an alternate definition for the term “gun control.” Nearly half of all Republicans surveyed said they believed that “an armed revolution in order to protect liberties might be necessary in the next few years,” a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University found. While 44% of registered Republican voters indicated that they believed armed rebellion would soon be a reality in the U.S., just 18% of Democrats agreed. As for Independent voters, 27% indicated that guns would soon be used to settle the country’s political problems. The partisan gap on the question of whether armed revolution will soon play a role in America’s political history mirrors the differences in opinion on gun control. While 50% of those surveyed said that new gun control legislation was necessary to protect the public, just 24% of Republicans said new laws were needed. A whopping 73% of Democrats favored new legislation, the survey found. It’s no secret the Republicans love their guns, but it’s downright scary that they have armed revolution on their minds. Rush Limbaugh would like to make a clarification. A day after creating a stir by saying he is ” ashamed of America ,” the conservative radio host talked in-depth Friday about exactly what he meant by that comment. Rush Limbaugh: The Left Has Won “The Left has beaten us,” Limbaugh lamented. “They have created far more low-information, unaware, uneducated people than we’ve been able to keep up with… “I’ve always had a Civics 101 view of the country: People get what they want, they vote what they want, and they get the way they vote.” Limbaugh went on to say Democrats “control the education system… pop culture, movies, TV and books” and they do it by creating “dependency,” scaring voters into believing the Right will take it all away if elected. “I’m fed up with it,” he concluded. “I can’t do it anymore…. The whole thing is shamefully absurd. I don’t know how else to say it.” What do you think of Limbaugh’s comments? Has the Left really won? Is there hope remaining for conservatives? And should both sides celebrate the possibility that Rush really is done?
