Jeb Bush to Run For President in 2016 … Says Nicolle Wallace!

Jeb Bush will run for U.S. President in 2016 … according to former George W. Bush communications director turned The View co-host Nicolle Wallace! Nicolle Wallace: Jeb Bush 2016! “I’m so excited that Jeb Bush is running,” Wallace said of the 2016 election in an interview with The Insider ’s Debbie Matenopoulos on Thursday. “He really sort of shaped my views of what a conservative can be and is, and the problems they can solve and how they can solve them differently.” “I hope he’s successful. I hope he wins the nomination. I hope he wins the White House. But I’m going to be cheering for him from here,” she added. By that, Wallace meant that while she “would do anything” for the Bush family, she has no intention of leaving her post to work in the White House. Jeb Bush 2016 talk has been constant since … well, the 2012 election results were announced, and he is among the frontrunners in many polls. But the Republican ex-Governor of Florida and brother of George W. Bush has not officially announced his candidacy yet. So … thank you Nicolle? If this was his de facto entry into the race, he probably imagined it happening in a slightly different way. But hey, you gotta start somewhere right? Assuming he really is planning a bid to become the third Bush president in the last five, Jeb faces some stiff opposition within the GOP. Popular U.S. Sens. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have all announced their candidacies to succeed Barack Obama this spring. Many other big names are mulling candidacies for the Republicans as well, ensuring a crowded, hard-fought campaign this year and next. For the Democrats, Hillary Clinton is the heavy favorite, but got her first challenger yesterday when U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders announced he will run. Seriously??? House Republicans Clear A Way For Government Lawsuit Against President Obama

Are there any lengths the Republicans won’t go to? House Republicans Gear Up To Sue President Obama Via WashingtonPost : House Republicans voted to proceed with a lawsuit against President Obama on Wednesday, saying that his executive actions are so extreme that they violate the Constitution. The nearly party-line vote — all Democrats voted against it, and all but five Republicans voted for it — further agitated an already polarized climate on Capitol Hill as both parties used the pending suit to try to rally support ahead of the November elections. Halfway across the continent, Obama almost gloated at the prospect of being sued. “They’re going to sue me for taking executive actions to help people. So they’re mad I’m doing my job,” Obama said in an economics speech in Kansas City, Mo. “And by the way, I’ve told them I’d be happy to do it with you. The only reason I’m doing it on my own is because you’re not doing anything,” he said of Congress. The lawsuit is the culmination of heightened conflict since Obama took office in 2009, particularly since Boehner became speaker more than three years ago. It is also unprecedented in its nature. Plenty of congressmen, of both parties, have filed lawsuits or briefs in support of suits against presidents. Generally, federal judges dismiss the cases because usually only those affected by the law had standing to file suit. Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (N.Y.), the ranking Democrat on the Rules Committee, called it a “monumental waste of time, energy and funds” that was designed only to encourage conservative voters to back Republicans this fall. “This is a political maneuver timed to peak as Americans are going to the polls in November for the midterm elections,” Slaughter said. “This lawsuit is the drumbeat pushing members of the Republican Party to impeachment.” “Stop being mad all the time. Stop just hatin’ all the time,” Obama said at the Uptown Theater. “Everyone sees this as a political stunt, but it’s worse than that because every vote they’re taking . . . means a vote they’re not taking to help people.” You’d think with 7 years of Obama having been in office, these racists Republicans would get over it and try to come to some practical solutions for our issues, rather than just whining, pulling stunts, and throwing up roadblocks to everything our President has to do.

SMH: Rambling Racist Ted Nugent Responds To “Toddler Thug” Video – “He’ll End Up Dead Like His Dad”

Ted Nugent Says Swearing Toddler Will End Up Dead Like His Dad via Media Matters National Rifle Association board member and conservative columnist Ted Nugent claimed that African-Americans must “admit to the self-inflicted destructo-derby they are waging” in order to honestly celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Nugent, who recently became Outdoor Channel’s spokesman, made this claim in his regular column for birther website WND. In a column titled, “What Would Dr. King Say About Black Culture?” Nugent sought to tie a viral video of a 2-year-old Omaha, Nebraska toddler being cursed at by adults to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which is on January 20. Nugent cited this single example of bad parenting as “the tip of the black gangster iceberg” and suggested that “[s]hould the boy ever be reunited with his family of gangsters, he will either end up in prison like his grandparents or dead like his dad.” Returning to his frequently made claim that Democrats act as slave masters to African-Americans, Nugent again indicted African-American culture with the claim that, “[t]o honestly celebrate the legacy of Dr. King, black America would have to admit to the self-inflicted destructo-derby they are waging and begin to tell their liberal Democratic slave drivers to take a hike.” Obviously this douchebag’s comments are way left field as usual, but should parents of young children see red flags if they’re behaving this way at this age? Or is it too early to be overly concerned?

Walmart Civil Disobedience, Protests Against "Poverty Wages" Lead to Oer 50 Arrests

More than 50 Walmart workers and supporters were arrested in downtown L.A. Thursday night fir protesting what they called the retailer’s “poverty wages.” Surrounded by 100 police officers in riot gear and a helicopter circling above, organizers claim this was the largest act of civil disobedience in Walmart history. Walmart Civil Disobedience Leads to Over 50 Arrests The 54 arrestees, with about 500 protesting Walmart workers , clergy and supporters, obtained a permit to demonstrate outside LA’s Chinatown Walmart. Those who refused police orders to clear the street after the permit expired were arrested without incident. Those who fail to post $5,000 bail were jailed overnight. Their primary demand to Walmart: pay every full-time worker at least $25,000 a year. Anthony Goytia, 31 and a father of two, said he believes he’ll make about $12,000. It’s a daily struggle, he said, “to make sure my family doesn’t go hungry.” “The power went out at my house yesterday because I couldn’t afford the bill,” Goytia said. “I had to run around and get two payday loans to pay for my rent.” “Yesterday we went to a food bank.” Goytia participates in clinical trials and sells his blood plasma for extra money. He has been asking his managers for full-time employment for a year and a half. Instead, he said, they hire temporary workers, who can be fired at any time. So Goytia was one of several dozen Walmart workers on strike, calling for an end to low wages, unpredictable part-time hours and retaliation for speaking out. They were joined by other employees on their days off and dozens more who rode buses from Northern California to join their efforts outside the store. The actions in Los Angeles this week are the first in what organizers said would be a series of protests leading into the holiday shopping season. The protesters said that Walmart can afford to pay every worker at least $25,000 a year, pointing to Walmart’s $17 billion profit from the latest year. The founding Walton family’s fortune alone, the protesters argue, is equivalent to the wealth of the bottom 42 percent of American families combined. Walmart CEO Bill Simon disclosed in a presentation recently that approximately 475,000 Walmart employees are paid more than $25,000 a year. That leaves 525,000 to 825,000 Walmart workers earning less. U.S. House Democrats seeking to boost the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 per hour have criticized Walmart in particular for its low wages.

Ain’t Isht Racists: NV Tea Party Republican – “Yeah, I Would Vote To Bring Back Slavery” [Video]

NV Tea Party Republican – “Yeah, I Would Vote To Bring Back Slavery” These GOP folks just DAF and are saying anything these days. According to Raw Story: A Republican Nevada state assemblyman said that he would vote for legislation in favor of slavery if his constituents wanted him to. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Jim Wheeler of Gardnerville, NV was speaking to the Storey County Republican Party when he made the remarks last August, although they are only now coming to light. “If that’s what they wanted, I’d have to hold my nose, I’d have to bite my tongue and they’d probably have to hold a gun to my head, but yeah, if that’s what the citizens of the, if that’s what the constituency wants that elected me, that’s what they elected me for,” he said. “That’s what a republic is about.” Now, Wheeler said to the Sun, “liberal operatives” are spreading the video in an effort to smear him. The assemblyman was referring to a blog post by a conservative commentator named Chuck Muth, who asked during Wheeler’s candidacy, “(W)hat if those citizens decided they want to, say, bring back slavery? Hey, if that’s what the citizens want, right Jim?” Wheeler told the audience of Republicans, “yeah I would.” The remarks have kicked off a firestorm with Republicans and Democrats alike rushing to denounce Wheeler, who rode the 2010 wave of tea party fervor into his spot on the state assembly. The Associated Press quoted a statement by Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval that said, in part, “Assemblyman Wheeler’s comments are deeply offensive and have no place in our society. He should retract his remarks and apologize.” SMH. “No Filter.” Check out the video below: Continue reading
