Miley Cyrus to Perform at MTV EMAs in Amsterdam

Miley Cyrus is headed to Amsterdam. No, not to smoke marijuana. Well… not just to smoke marijuana. The 20-year old singer will perform at the MTV European Music Awards on November 10, she confirmed yesterday, bringing her Twerking, teddy bearing and raunchy outfits to a live overseas audience. Miley Cyrus Raps About Drugs Miley, of course, started her takeover of the American music world with a shocking VMA performance in Brooklyn this August. The “Wrecking Ball” artist is nominated for a quartet of awards at the upcoming event, where she’ll join previously-announced performers Katy Perry and the Killers, while Ariana Grande is on board as backstage host. This news comes a day after Cyrus’ new album, “Bangerz,” climbed to number-one on both the Billboard 200 and various iTunes charts around the world. What song will Miley sing? We don’t know. What will she wear? Not much, we’re guessing. How many headlines will be generated as a result? Approximately 7,249. The singer next performs live for U.S. fans at the American Music Awards on November 24.

Hicks are Saying Sandy Hook was a Hoax of the Day

This is really fucking strange…. I know some people who have lost kids in the shooting and I am the first person who hates the media and don’t believe anything I am told by the media…it is population control and brainwashing…I believe a lot of the conspiracies….I mean Kim Kardashian proves that the general public buys into shit they see on TV everyday….but I am pretty sure kids were killed in the Sandy Hook shooting…whether planned, strategic, or whatever….They are saying it is to ban guns, for the democrats to win, they are even tying in GE cuz the killers dad was a VP there…. I don’t know what this is all about, I am only posting this cuz it confuses me and I want to hear what you people have to say and that dad, giggling, is just weird. I believe there were victims…and I believe it is sad….tragic..horrible…etc..even if this dad looks like he’s acting… Now, back to tits.

Fun. Tease ‘Some Nights’ Video Ahead Of MTV Premiere

Band will perform at MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, along with Wiz Khalifa and Black Keys. By James Montgomery Nate Ruess Photo: Fueled by Ramen Two months ago, Fun. promised that their upcoming video for “Some Nights” would be “amazing,” then followed up that claim by teasing that the clip featured (and also xylophones). And now, after all that talk, we are finally getting our first glimpse at the video (which premieres Monday, June 4, at 3:55 p.m. on MTV) — thanks to a teaser clip posted by the band’s label, Fueled by Ramen — and it looks like Fun.’s claims were warranted. In the 30-second clip, we see Fun. performing amidst a Civil War battlefield, as flares erupt in the distance and Union and Confederate soldiers take aim at one another (said xylophone does not make an appearance). Directed by Anthony Mandler — who’s made a career out of helming eye-catching clips for the likes of Rihanna, Jay-Z, Drake and the Killers — the “Some Nights” video appears to be a worthy successor to the band’s breakout “We Are Young” clip, which still stands as one of 2012’s best. Of course, that assessment is based solely on a single sneak peek — you can catch the full “Some Nights” video when it premieres Monday, June 4, at 3:55 p.m. on MTV. And, of course, it comes on the heels of Fun.’s performance at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards , which air live on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Fun. will share the stage at the big show with previously announced performer Wiz Khalifa and new additions the Black Keys and DJ Martin Solveig . Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET. Related Artists fun.

Bollywood Beheading Bombshell: Actress Slain in Extortion Plot

Yikes : “Meenakshi Thapar, 26, who had appeared in the Indian horror film 404 last year, met two aspiring actors who allegedly later killed her on the set of her latest film, Heroine . According to police, her ‘fellow actors’ warned her mother they would force her daughter to take part in pornography films if their demands were not met. Her mother paid 60,000 Rupees [$1,152] into her daughter’s account for her kidnappers to withdraw, but she was allegedly killed soon after. She was strangled to death, beheaded, and her body was dumped at two different sites as her killers made their way back to Mumbai. Her torso was dumped in a water tank and her head thrown out of the bus window in a bag on the road to Mumbai.” [ Telegraph via THR ]

Foo Fighters’ Tape Promo And More Rock Footnotes We’re Claiming

Our Bigger Than the Sound columnist is taking credit for that and five other moments in rock history. By James Montgomery James Montgomery interviews the Foo Fighters Photo: Jonathan Mussman / MTV News Honestly, I don’t know if I should be flattered or outraged right now. On Tuesday, the Foo Fighters released their (genuinely excellent) Wasting Light album, a snarling, knotty thing that, as anyone who bought a copy can attest to, also comes packaged with a snippet of the master tapes it was recorded on. I’ll be the first to admit that it’s a rather brilliant little marketing ploy, especially since I may have been the one who thought it up in the first place. See, last month, when I sat down with the Foos for the premiere of their “Rope” video , we spent a fair amount of time discussing Light ‘s recording process &#8212 and the band’s much-covered decision to make the album in Dave Grohl’s garage, directly to analog tape. At one point, Grohl told me that, after final mastering, he cut the master tapes up “into a million pieces,” which led me to suggest &#8212 half-jokingly, I will admit &#8212 that he should include the fragments of tape with the actual album. “What a great idea!” Grohl laughed. No kidding. And while the outrage I felt upon learning the Foos had, uh, appropriated my concept has subsided some (I’d still like a platinum plaque, though), the whole incident got me thinking. Because whether I meant for it to happen or not, over the years, I have been responsible for creating a lot of ancillary rock bullsh– just like the Wasting Light marketing scheme. I suppose I have a knack for inspiring footnotes in the ever-expanding book of rock and roll (as Musical March Madness has proven). So here’s a look back at some of my Greatest Hits: The Great Killers/Bravery Beef of 2005 Yes, I am the guy responsible for this petty feud, which was a very big deal back when folks mentioned the Killers and the Bravery in the same sentence (or, really, mentioned them at all). It all started when I interviewed Brandon Flowers in March 2005, just as the Killers’ Hot Fuss was gaining traction here in the States, and, flush with confidence, he took the opportunity to lay the verbal smackdown on the Bravery, whom he saw as pretenders to the Killers’ sparkly throne. “They’re signed because we’re a band,” he told me. “I’ve heard rumors about [members of] that band being in a different kind of band, and how do you defend that? If you say, ‘My heart really belongs to what I’m doing now,’ but you used to be in a ska band? I think people will see through them.” Oh, snap. The two sides would continue to spar for most of the year (my favorite part was when Bravery frontman Sam Endicott said Killers’ bassist Mark Stoermer looked like “a 9-foot-tall, Dutch-girl mutant”) before the beef eventually got too lean for anyone to care about. Though, in a semi-related note, a year later, Flowers told me that the Killers’ upcoming Sam’s Town would be “one of the best albums in the past 20 years,” a quote that would haunt him for the majority of the album’s cycle and, in a lot of ways, doom it completely. Needless to say, we haven’t spoken a whole lot since. The Fall Out Boy Song “West Coast Smoker” This is the final tune on their 2008 album Folie

Charlie Sheen’s Hospitalization Resulted From ‘Hernia’

‘I’m not dying,’ troubled actor reportedly said in phone call from the hospital. By Gil Kaufman Charlie Sheen Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images Prior to troubled “Two and a Half Men” star Charlie Sheen ‘s trip to the hospital on Thursday with what were described as stomach pains, someone called his neighbors Dr. Paul Nassif and his wife, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, according to People.com . “We did receive a call from Charlie’s house this morning, asking for medical assistance and advice … and immediately insisted the caller dial 911,” the couple said. “Dr. Nassif also immediately called 911.” A short time later, Sheen was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. “As longtime friends, we are obviously very concerned about his well-being,” the couple added. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family right now and we wish him a speedy recovery.” The actor has not responded to the variety of salacious rumors about his activities in the days before his latest health crisis, but “Extra” quoted an unnamed source who spoke to Sheen in the hospital, who said the sitcom star told him, “I’m not dying.” TMZ described Sheen’s ailment as a hiatal hernia in Sheen’s stomach, a condition he’s reportedly suffered from for several years and which causes “horrible, horrendous pain.” As for what caused the hernia, one of Charlie’s pals, Steve Brodersen, told “Extra” that it was a preexisting condition that was exacerbated by Sheen laughing too hard at something he was watching on TV. It’s possible Sheen could undergo surgery on Friday (January 28) to repair the hernia. While doctors at Cedars are not discussing the case, Radar Online quoted an unnamed source close to the star as saying that “Charlie’s red blood cell count was low and his white blood cell count was high” and that he was “not alert” and appeared dehydrated. A high white cell count could indicate an infection; Sheen recently suffered an ear infection. Multiple outlets reported that sources close to Sheen denied that this latest incident was related to a drug overdose, but the actor was said to have been partying hard with a number of adult film stars at his Hollywood home for several days before the 911 call. One of the porn stars, Kacey Jordan, reportedly tweeted a provocative photo of herself from inside Sheen’s home a short time before the star’s collapse. Neighbors say that Sheen had thrown a party the night before, where women were heard singing along to Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. The party went late into the night and into the early morning hours. Production of his hit CBS comedy is not expected to be affected by the hospital stay because the show is on hiatus this week. Jordan, who allegedly took part in the party, spoke to TMZ , saying she had a drinking contest with Sheen, who was already “f—ing wasted” when she arrived at his house. She described a late-night delivery of a large amount of cocaine and a marathon session watching adult movies in the actor’s home theater. “He didn’t want me to leave, but I was really shooken up,” she said. “I had an anxiety attack. I feel really bad. I hope he is well … I just hope that he gets better.” Sheen was also hospitalized last October in New York. He reportedly stopped communicating with his sober coach, a therapist that aids with addiction recovery, shortly after the incident. “He has not heard from Charlie since he told him not to start New Year’s Day!” a source told UsMagazine.com .
