Jerame Reid Death An investigation is currently ongoing into yet another death of an unarmed black man killed by police. Newly released footage shows 36-year-old Jerame Reid of New Jersey being gunned down while his hands are raised. SMFH… The Daily Dot reports: When police in Bridgeton, N.J., pulled over Leroy Tutt’s on the night of Dec. 30, it was because he had rolled through a stop sign. Minutes later, his passenger, 36-year-old Jerame Reid, was killed in a hail of bullets fired by officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley. The Bridgeton Police Department has now released dash-cam footage of the fatal encounter, in which Officer Days, who is black, approaches the passenger window and asks for Tutt’s license. After spotting a gun in the glove department, both Days and Worley, a white man, draw their weapons, with Days warning Tutt and Reid not to move. “Show me your f******* hands!” Days yells as he struggles with the car door. “Don’t you f***** move! I’m telling you, I’m going to shoot you. You’re going to be f***** dead … Jerame, you reach for something, you’re going to be f***** dead.” “Let me out of the f***** car,” Reid says, finally emerging with his hands in front of his chest, at which point both Worley and Days open fire, killing him. Tutt, whose raised hands are visible throughout, then lies down in the street to be handcuffed. Days and Worley are on administrative leave while the department investigates their use of deadly force. Days had arrested Reid the previous summer “on charges of obstruction, resisting arrest, possession of narcotics and failure to appear in Millville Municipal Court. This footage is soooo disturbing, he CLEARLY had his hands up. What do YOU make of all of this???

Blue is the new black? Via RawStory A former Buffalo police officer says she is fighting to regain her pension after being fired for stopping a fellow officer from strangling a suspect, reports WKBW. According to the fired officer, Cariol Horne, she responded to a call of an officer in trouble on Nov. 1, 2006. When she arrived she discovered officer Gregory Kwiatkowski arresting a suspect, Neal Mack, who had been involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend. “He was handcuffed in the front and he was sideways and was being punched in the face by Gregory Kwiatkowski,” Horne remembered. Once Kwiatkowski pulled Mack out of the home, assisted by ten police officers who had responded to the call, Horne said the arresting officer began choking the suspect. “Gregory Kwiatkowski turned Neal Mack around and started choking him. So then I’m like, ‘Greg! You’re choking him,’ because I thought whatever happened in the house he was still upset about so when he didn’t stop choking him I just grabbed his arm from around Neal Mack’s neck,” said Horne. According to Horne, Kwiatkowski responded to her by punching her in the face. “He comes up and punches me in the face and I had to have my bridge replaced,” said Horne, who said she then tried to defend herself only to have other officers pull her away from Kwiatkowski, injuring her shoulder in the process. Following the incident, Horne was fired and charged with obstruction for “jumping on officer Kwiatkowski’s back and/or striking him with her hands.” To make matters worse… However, in a sworn statement regarding the incident Kwiatkowski said, “she never got on top of me.” Despite that, Horne lost every appeal and with her 19 year career over, losing her pension in the process. “My daughter said, ‘Mommy, why did you go to work that day?’ She never said, ‘Why did you do what you did?’ or ‘I wish you wouldn’t have done it,” Horne, the mother of five children said.”‘I wish you wouldn’t have gone to work that day.’ So I don’t regret it.” According to Horne, she now works as a truck driver to feed her family. As for Officer Kwiatkowski, he was forced to retire from the department after being suspended for choking another officer on the job and, in a separate incident, punching a fellow officer while off-duty. In May 2014, Kwiatowkski and two other officers were indicted for federal civil rights violations against African-American teen suspects. How f***ed up is THAT?! SMH. Image via WKBW

A Connecticut woman is rightfully outraged after learning that police had her 10-year-old daughter handcuffed with guns drawn while arresting the adult that she was with on drug charges. via Fox News St. Louis A young girl was put in handcuffs when a family friend she was with was arrested in Middletown, CT. Kenneth Ford, 27, of Middletown, is a friend of the girl’s mother and was helping drive the fifth grader to basketball practice. According to the arraignment report from the Middletown Police Department, on Wednesday, Dec. 17, the department’s narcotics unit tried to serve Ford, a convicted felon, with an active arrest warrant. Detectives located Ford at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School at around 7:45 p.m. and saw him go into the school, where he stayed for several minutes. Police continued to follow Ford for an hour. Ford first went to Biefield, where he met with someone in a Jeep Wrangler. Police saw Ford hand the other person an item, and the other person gave him money. Ford then drove back to the school and went inside. At around 8:45 p.m. Ford left the school with a female, who was later identified as a 10-year-old girl. The two got in the car and drove to the South Main Liquor Store, left the car running with the girl inside and went into the liquor store. At this point police decided to engage the suspect, and waited outside the store for him. When he came out the police identified themselves and one detective drew a gun. Ford is a convicted felon who is known to carry handguns. The police then reportedly apprehended the man before handcuffing the 10-year-old girl. Ford was then handcuffed. Meanwhile, the girl was in the car screaming. A detective asked her to get out of the car, and then put her in handcuffs. Ford asked the detective to call the girl’s mother, who verified that she was 10 years old. According to Canna Chaney, the girl’s mother, the handcuffs were on her daughter for a while before she received the call. Canaa Chaney, the girl’s mother, says Ford is an old friend and was helping her out because she just moved to Connecticut from North Carolina three weeks ago and doesn’t have a car. Cory Brinson, the lawyer that Chaney retained in this case, said police picked an inappropriate time to arrest Ford. “They watched him pick her up from the school. They could have executed this warrant at another time, but did not and put her in harm’s way. Threw her up against the car, handcuffed her, drew their guns and scared her half to death. It didn’t have to happen like that,” Brinson said. When police searched the car and Ford they found four cell phones, gold teeth, seven baggies of crack cocaine weighing .565 ounces and $2882 in cash. Obviously the man being arrested is heavily to blame for engaging in all of this criminal activity with a child in his care and the mother should certainly be more selective with whom she allows to be responsible for her child, but SURELY these officers could tell that this young girl was a child and not an adult accomplice.
