Diddy Urges ‘Stop The Hate’ — Was He Talking To 50 Cent?

‘Hate is for suckers,’ Bad Boy mogul says during the BET Awards post-show. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy and 50 Cent Photo: MTV News 50 Cent and Rick Ross lyrically collided last year, and now it looks like the Miami rapper’s new business partner is getting caught in the crossfire. 50 Cent has been taking shots at Diddy, Ross’ manager, saying the hip-hop mogul is “senile” for thinking he could re-create his early career success with Ross at the helm instead of the Notorious B.I.G. Fif also called Diddy a “serpent” and a “bloodsucker” while conducting an interview with Boston’s Jam’n 94.5 radio station . “His music sucks. It’s bad,” 50 said. “He’s not an artist anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.” Fif later disparaged Diddy during a concert. “F— Diddy,” 50 told the concertgoers. “Tell him I said that sh– too.” Diddy appeared to fire back at 50, though, via the BET Awards post-show on Sunday night, although he never called the battle-ready rapper out by name. “Check this out,” the Bad Boy Records founder said as the show was signing off. “I love my people. Let’s stop the hate, man. Congratulate. Hate is for suckers. If you hating, you a sucker, and you’re ashy and your breath stink. And you know who I’m talking to, you hating-ass crab.” 50 and Diddy had a longstanding business admiration for one another, but with the latter’s recent alignment with Ross, it seems as if the civility has ended. Fif and Ross began their quarrel last year when the Miami rapper lyrically referenced rumors that 50 Cent burned down the home of his former girlfriend and the mother of his son; 50 denied the accusation and was never charged in the incident. The two rappers spent a good part of last year trading dis rhymes and swapping even harsher comments in interviews, but in recent months, the beef seems to have subsided. Diddy Doesn’t Want To Talk About B.I.G.’s Murder Anymore

‘It was in the past, and I’ve talked about it so much,’ hip-hop mogul says on ‘Nightline.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy Photo: Statia Photography/ Getty Images Diddy appeared on ABC News’ “Nightline” on Thursday night and spoke to Martin Bashir about his Last Train to Paris album, his role in the movie “Get Him to the Greek” and his various other business ventures. But what Bashir really wanted the Bad Boy Records CEO to discuss was the murders of the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. And though Diddy did talk about Biggie’s last day at a Paris press conference on Thursday, he told Bashir that he had talked about that topic enough in the past. “I decided that it was something that I just wasn’t really gonna be talking about anymore,” Diddy told the probing host about Biggie’s death. “It was in the past, and I’ve talked about it so much. I love him, I miss him, and he’s one of my best friends. It was a tragic loss.” Bashir, who has a reputation for aggressive questioning, continued to ask the superstar if he had any information on the two deaths that rocked the hip-hop world over a decade ago. “No, No idea.” Diddy said. “I feel the loss of my friend. … I feel the loss of Tupac.” Later in the interview, Bashir discussed the birthday bash Diddy threw for his son early this year that was featured on an episode of MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16.” The mogul defended his decision to give his son a Maybach car valued at over $400,000. In regards to fatherhood, Diddy called it both his greatest joy and his biggest challenge. “I definitely enjoy the responsibility of fatherhood,” explained the father of six. “It’s probably one of the things I can honestly I’m not the most successful at. I feel that my kids deserve more personal time from me. ” What did you think about Diddy’s interview? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Diddy Notorious B.I.G.

Diddy Calls Rick Ross ‘A Very Unique Artist, ‘ Applauds New Mixtape

‘That Albert Anastasia [EP] is up there to me as one of the hardest mixtapes in history,’ Diddy says. By Shaheem Reid Diddy Photo: Amy Sussman/Getty Images On Tuesday (June 8), Diddy gave Rick Ross yet another major co-sign. “That Albert Anastasia [EP] is up there to me as one of the hardest mixtapes in history,” Puff said during a Def Jam conference call with Ross and DJ Khaled. A bold statement, but on top of being an O.G. in the game, Diddy said, he’s also a connoisseur of hip-hop, so he felt very comfortable applauding Ross. “He doesn’t talk about the regular stuff you hear cats talking about now,” Diddy said. “Everything he talks about is from his soul and from his heart. He approaches the record from a real standpoint. You can tell he’s approaching it from an honest standpoint. The tone of his voice, I’ve always been wanting to work with artists that have a certain vocal tone. He sounds like a giant. He is a giant, and he has that personality. “He’s a very unique artist,” he continued. “He’s bigger than just an artist; he’s a brand. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to work with him, because I felt like we could do bigger and better things. Having worked with Biggie, somebody that also was talking about things from the streets — I’m not comparing him to Biggie, before we start going down that road, but I am saying that there are similarities in the mental approach of a record that I do have a familiarity with.” Over the weekend in Phoenix, 50 Cent weighed in on Diddy’s alliance with Ross and Nicki Minaj. He hinted that he felt Lil’ Kim was justified when she said Diddy should be “ashamed” of himself for working with Minaj. “It’s probably a little more irritating [for Lil’ Kim] to see Puffy stand next to Nicki Minaj and for him to say that Ross reminds him of Biggie,” 50 said in an interview with Power 98.3 FM. ” ‘Cause that’s desperation on his part, ’cause his music sucks. It’s bad, so he has to stay close to something else that has momentum for it to be all right” Diddy seems unfazed of any criticism he may get. He said Nicki Minaj is a hip-hop great, and during Tuesday’s conference call, he made it clear he’s riding with Rick Ross. “To me, how anybody ever wanna take it, he’s the Biggie of the South. Anybody can take it how they wanna take it,” Diddy said. “I heard his album. His album is a classic. I heard the Albert Anastasia ; it has six joints y’all [DJs] should be playing right now. … He has the most exciting music in the streets right now, and he’s one of the realest n—as.” Diddy and Ross belong to the new clique of artists dubbed “The Supreme Team.” “Supreme Team, Puff Daddy put a movement together,” Khaled said during the call. “A bunch of fly dudes getting together, getting money, making great music, keeping it 100 at all times. I’m honored to be a part of the movement. Puff Daddy, of course my right-hand Ricky Ross, Red Caf

Diddy Wanted to Play Football, Found Music Instead

If plan A doesn’t work out, go to plan B. And plan B may someday make you millions. Sean “Diddy” Combs sat down with James Lipton from Bravo’s Inside The Actor’s Studio on Tuesday  night. Diddy reveals that he had dreams to play professional football until he injured his leg in his late high school years.  He said: It broke my heart, I had to learn at a young age that things happen and sometimes your dreams get deferred, and you don’t have to give up your dreams. He also discussed how he got where he is today, losing his father at the age of three, and discovering his father’s notorious past. Originally, Diddy knew nothing about his father’s past. His mother, Janis , told him that his father died in a car accident.  But Diddy did his own research. He said: “I went to the library to go through the microfilm and I searched my father and it came up that they had called him a ‘Kingpin’ in Harlem and that he was killed on Central Park West. He had got shot in his head, that’s how I found out about my father.” Diddy was devastated. His mother raised him alone and inspired him to work hard and become successful. Because he wanted to make her proud, he pursued his education at Howard University .   Diddy became a music executive at Uptown Records while he was still attending school. He decided to leave school and focus on the music industry. I guess that was the right choice because look at where he is today. See, I like this story. Say what you want about Diddy , but he earned his dues.  He saw the light at the end of the tunnel and it made him millions and millions of dollars. Boy, let me find that tunnel.
