Diddy Says ‘Hello, Good Morning’ To ‘Good Morning America’

But the multi-hyphenate entertainer still has more energy than most, as he showed when he and his Diddy-Dirty Money collective took to the stage early Friday morning (June 4) for the “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series in Manhattan’s Central Park. “I wanna thank y’all for coming out, New York,” Diddy told the gathered crowd during a commercial break. “I know you got work [to go to].” The Bad Boy Records mogul performed his latest single, “Hello, Good Morning,” sans featured guests Rick Ross and T.I. Backed by Dawn Richards and Kaleena, Diddy was upbeat and energetic at an hour when most New Yorkers were sipping their first cup of coffee. “How fly is he/ Your baby mama cry for me like Jodeci,” Diddy rapped over the frenzied track. “So how you not notice me/ Pull up to the club in the coldest V.” Later, he delivered a medley of his past hits, including “Last Night,” “All About the Benjamins” and “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems.” Diddy’s long-in-the-works album, Last Train to Paris, is set for a June 28 release at midnight following the BET Awards. The music magnate told “GMA hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos that his ” Train music” is “constantly progressive.” Recently, Diddy explained the project was more R&B-based than electro-infused as many had initially believed. The album’s love story is what drives the bulk of the collection, he said. “One of the things we’re trying to represent is emotion,” Diddy told MTV News late last year. “Not being afraid to show emotion on record. A lot of records out right now — no disrespect to them, but they’re all surface. It’s about what people have, or a dance. “All our records are gonna be about love, feelings and emotion,” Diddy continued. ” Last Train to Paris is a love story, and the most vulnerable album I’ve ever been involved in. It’s raw emotion — you get a feeling, a vibe.” What did you think about Diddy’s “GMA” performance? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Diddy-Dirty Money Diddy

Diddy Reveals His Oscar Influence On ‘Inside The Actor’s Studio’

‘I’m gonna help you win an Oscar,’ producer/actor recalls telling ‘Monster’s Ball’ co-star Halle Berry. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy appears on “Inside The Actor’s Studio” on Tuesday Photo: Bravo It turns out Diddy ‘s Midas touch extends beyond music. The hip-hop mogul told “Inside the Actor’s Studio” host James Lipton, during his pre-taped appearance that aired Tuesday night (May 25), that he predicted Halle Berry would win an Academy Award for “Monster’s Ball” — with his aid. “I knocked on Halle’s door at a hotel,” Diddy recalled, after his acting coach urged him to jet across the country to claim his role in the movie. “And she was like, ‘What are you doing here?’ I was like, ‘Give me five minutes. Do you remember when people just looked at you as a pretty face? Remember in “Strictly Business” and no one would give you chance? I know you may think that I’m gonna be polarizing, that I’m gonna take your shot to win a Oscar.’ But I said, ‘I’m gonna help you win an Oscar. I’m gonna be believable.’ I said, ‘Give me a chance.’ ” Berry, of course, did go on to earn an Oscar for her portrayal of Leticia Torres, an embattled wife whose husband was executed by her new lover, a fact she learned after their hookup. Diddy joked that with Berry’s win and later Phylicia Rashad’s Tony win for “A Raisin in the Sun,” he has a recruiting pitch for his future co-stars. “You’ll always win,” he said. Throughout his conversation with Lipton, Diddy was engaging, jovial and displayed a restrained charisma. The producer/rapper-turned-actor had the support of his mother, Janice Combs, and his son, Justin Combs, who were seated in the audience, along with a number of aspiring actors, writers and directors. Diddy took questions from the crowd and told the students to never take no for an answer, citing the encouragement from his acting coach, Susan Batson. Diddy appeared on the show to help promote his latest film, “Get Him to the Greek.” In the movie, Diddy plays an over-the-top record executive — he told Lipton his character, Sergio, was only mildly similar to himself — that has been earning rave reviews from his co-stars, including Jonah Hill . “I think Diddy’s going to really shock people,” Hill told MTV News earlier this year. “We were saying Diddy’s kind of the McLovin of ‘Get Him to the Greek.’ You don’t know what he’s going to do. Every time he breathes in the movie, it garners a huge laugh.” What did you think about Diddy’s “Inside the Actor’s Studio” appearance? Let us know in the comments! Diddy Says Nicki Minaj Is ‘One Of The Great Ones’

‘Nicki is up there. Her story has just begun,’ the mogul says of managing the Young Money MC. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy Photo: MTV News Diddy is expanding his empire. The mogul recently announced the opening of a management firm that he’ll oversee in addition to his existing business holdings, which include a restaurant, clothing line and, of course, Bad Boy Records. Rick Ross was the first to ink with Diddy , describing the knowledge Diddy has as “priceless.” And now, Nicki Minaj is finalizing the paperwork that will allow the Last Train to Paris superstar to guide her career. The Young Money femcee has already been in the studio with Diddy, and he’s been singing her praises. “Nicki Minaj, she’s definitely one of the great ones,” Diddy told MTV News, speaking publicly for the first time about his new signee. “She has a long way to go, but you know how we recognized LeBron [James] was a great one, Tiger [Woods] was a great one, and Kobe [Bryant] was a great one? Nicki is up there. Her story has just begun.” So far, Nicki Minaj has released only one single, the Sean Garrett-assisted “Massive Attack,” which boasts a Hype Williams-directed video. But she’s been prominently featured on a slew of other artist’s records, including Ludacris’ “My Chick Bad,” Robin Thicke’s “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy” and Mariah Carey’s “Up Out My Face.” In February, the Queens lyricist spoke with MTV News and said she’s in no rush to release her yet-untitled debut. “With the album, just like with my mixtape, I never like to rush it,” Minaj explained. “With the album, I think it’s more important that people get accustomed to seeing a female rapper again. Before I drop an album, people need to come out and see. People don’t even know what a female rapper does. We’re so not used to seeing it. “It’s nonexistent in categories. We don’t get nominated. I need to work [the people] up to accepting a female rapper again and accepting my style and all of that — then the album will come. Honestly, I’d love to put an album out this year, but I don’t believe in rushing things either. We’ll see.” Do you think Diddy will do a good job of managing artists like Nicki Minaj? American Idol Didi March 31 Diddy Dirty Money, Usher and Ruben Studdard

Diddy’s group, the Diddy Dirty Money entertains the millions of viewers and the crowds at American Idol but the real story is about how the 10 finalists to American Idol are now reduced to 9. They sang the song “Helo Good Morning.” Diddy, Diddy Dirty Money, Usher and Ruben Studdard performed at the Top 10 final for American Idol season 9. Didi Benami, who sang What Becomes of the Broken Hearted went home with a broken heart. She was always the weaker member of the crew and many expected her to go home. Though she did have a strong following of loyalists, it was her time. Simon Cowell gave Didi Benami the news. It’s quite a coincidence that the day Diddy and his new group the Diddy Dirty Money comes onto the American Idol stage, that it would also be Didi that would go home. Maybe Didi can join Diddy’s group and they can call it the Diddy Didi Dirty Money or Didi Diddy Dirty Money. I apologize for that lame joke and will keep my day job.
