Somewhere Only We Know: A Keane Glee Cover

Glee creator Ryan Murphy made up with Kings of Leon this week, dialing back his criticism of the band and others that denied to allow Glee to use their songs. While some, like said Kings and Dave Grohl, are not fans, plenty of musicians have allowed the Warblers / New Directions do their thing. Case in point below. Glee returns April 19 with new episodes. A new album of Glee music drops the very same day. On it will be this cover of Keane and much more. Listen now: Glee – Somewhere Only We Know

Lupe Fiasco’s Lasers Blasts To Top Of Billboard 200

Avril Lavigne’s long-awaited Goodbye Lullaby debuts at #4. By Gil Kaufman Lupe Fiasco Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Sometimes the hardest, bumpiest rides are the ones that get you to the sweetest destination. That’s the lesson Chicago MC Lupe Fiasco is basking in this week as he celebrates the #1 debut of his third album, Lasers. After a difficult, oft-delayed birth, the record will make its mark on the Billboard 200 next week when it takes over the top spot thanks to sales of more than 204,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. That’s more than enough to end the two-week #1 reign of British soul singer Adele , whose 21 drops a spot to #2 as sales dipped to 133,000, giving her an impressive three-week total of more than 653,000. There are plenty of other debuts in the top 10 as well, including the latest “Glee” cast recording, Glee: The Music, Volume 5 (#3, 90,000), Avril Lavigne’s long-awaited Goodbye Lullaby (#4, 87,000), R.E.M. ‘s Collapse Into Now (#5, 57,000) and country singer Sara Evans ‘ Stronger (#6, 55,000). The rest of the top 10: Mumford & Sons , Sigh No More (#7, 46,000), Marsha Ambrosius , Late Nights & Early Mornings (#8, 41,000), Justin Bieber , Never Say Never – The Remixes (#9, 40,000) and NOW 37 (#10, 33,000). Just outside the top 10, rapper Raekwon cooks up a #12 debut for his latest solo effort, Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang (29,000), and “Tosh.0” comedian Daniel Tosh comes in at #28 with the CD of his comedy special, Happy Thoughts (15,000). Way down the line, heavily hyped English singer Ellie Goulding finally makes her American chart debut, sliding in at #129 with Lights (4,000). “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez continues to kill it on the iTunes singles chart, topping the tally with her comeback hit, “On the Floor,” followed by Katy Perry ‘s “E.T.,” Lady Gaga ‘s “Born This Way,” Britney Spears ‘ “Till the World Ends” and Rihanna ‘s “S&M.” A few fellas manage to break up the ladies’ club, with Cee Lo Green snagging the #6 position with “Forget You,” Ke$ha at #7 with “Blow,” Pink right behind with “F—in’ Perfect,” Dr. Dre and Eminem at #9 with “I Need a Doctor” and the cast of “Glee” rounding things out with “Landslide.” Lupe rules the iTunes albums chart as well, again besting #2 Adele, who’s in front of Lavigne, the “Glee” cast album, Mumford & Sons, R.E.M., Tosh, the Christian rock compilation Passion – Here for You, Evans and Ambrosius. Look for little change at the top next week, as new albums by Rise Against , Miranda Cosgrove and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker hit the charts. ‘Glee’-Cap: The Surprise Kiss We’d Been Waiting For

Kurt and Blaine’s lip-lock overshadows Regionals and original songs. By Jim Cantiello New Directions perform in the “Original Song” episode of “Glee” Photo: FOX It wasn’t exactly the original songs, nor the Regionals victory that had “Glee” fans squee-ing on Tuesday night. Not after that long-awaited Kurt and Blaine kiss. Of course, we’ve got an original song of our own to share, and nary a fish hook in sight. Sing along! New Directions try original songs, They’d do anything to get ahead of the pack. But their self-penned tunes are all wrong, They’re even worse than “Friday” by Rebecca Black. Although “Trouty Mouth” made me laugh out loud, And Mercedes’ solo made me wish that I was Black and proud. Rachel’s ballad had an Evanescence sound. I don’t buy that with these songs they won the Regional round. Pavarotti died suddenly, One less character for Ryan Murphy to write. Kurt sings a lovely eulogy In the midst of a Warblers fight. Kurt calls Blaine out for being an attention whore. He finally solos but the camera stays on Blaine more. Blaine realizes it’s Kurt that he adores, But nothing could prepare me for … They kissed! Holy sh**! Cue the confetti and make a gif! Since introducing Darren Criss, They’ve been promising just this. I can’t resist All of this bliss When these two lock their lips. But now I want to say to everyone else, “You are dismissed.” They swapped spit! It was the sh**! I wanna celebrate and get lit! I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t think Blaine would ever commit, But it’s legit A number one hit. I hope that they never quit. We waited so long, and it was worth it! (It was worth it) Sitting through Sue becoming even more cartoony. (It was worth it) Suffering through all those bad original ditties. (It was worth it) Staring at Kathy Griffin’s facelifts in HD. (It was worth it) Religious singing groups are an easy target, “Glee.” It was worth it Oh, so worth it Keep on workin’ it Don’t give up on it I love my Klaine [ Confetti ] By Mennen! ‘Glee’ Original Songs Slated For March Episode Hit The Net

Ryan Seacrest previewed soon-to-be ‘Gleek anthem’ ‘Loser Like Me’ and ‘Get It Right’ on his radio show. By Aly Semigran The cast of “Glee” Photo: FOX During the February 15 episode of “Glee” (titled ” Silly Love Songs “), Lea Michele’s character, Rachel, not-so-subtly foreshadowed the arrival of original songs on the show. But while new tunes “Loser Like Me” and “Get It Right” won’t appear on the hit series until March 15, Gleeks got a first listen on Friday morning (February 25). The two new original “Glee” tracks debuted on “On Air With Ryan Seacrest.” Ryan also tweeted out the information, posting on his page, “Attn Gleeks! Here’s the world premiere of #Glee’s first ever original songs ‘Loser Like Me’ & ‘Get It Right’: http://bit.ly/i5pNJv.” “Loser” features all of the New Directions members, led by Michele and Cory Monteith. The peppy pop ditty features lyrics keeping in tune with the themes of the show. After the opening guitar riffs, Michele croons, “Yeah, you may think that I’m a zero/ But hey, everyone you wanna be/ Probably started off like me/ You may say that I’m a freak show/ But hey, give it just a little time/ I bet you’re gonna change your mind.” Monteith later comes in with similar “we’ll show you” lyrics: “Pushed me up against the locker/ But hey, all I do is shake it off/ I’ll get you back when I’m your boss.” The rest of their castmates join them for the chorus, singing, “You wanna be/ You wanna be/ A loser like me.” Earlier this week, “Glee” music producer Adam Anders — the pair penned the numbers along with pop music powerhouse Max Martin — described “Loser” to Entertainment Weekly as a “Gleek anthem. It’s a very uptempo, kind-of-summery hit.” The Michele solo “Get It Right” was inspired by “Lea’s story line,” Anders told EW. In its opening moments, the Michele ballad sounds reminiscent of the Britney Spears hit “Everytime” thanks to its fluttering piano and breathy vocals, but comes into its own as it builds. The Golden Globe-nominated star cries in the chorus, “What can you do/ When your good isn’t good enough/ And all that you touch tumbles down/ ‘Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things/ I just want to fix it somehow/ But how many times will it take for me to get it right?” Both “Loser Like Me” and “Get It Right” will appear on the album “Glee: The Music, Volume 5,” which will also feature season-two covers like Michele’s take on Katy Perry’s “Firework” and guest star Gwyneth Paltrow’s rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” The fifth installment is due on March 8. What do you think of the “Glee” originals, “Loser Like Me” and “Get It Right”? Tell us in the comments! Related Videos Musical ‘Glee-Caps’ Of Season Two

Which Glee Cast Members Have the Best Shot At Being Movie Stars?

With I Am Number Four unspooling at theaters around the country (and in IMAX !), Dianna Agron becomes the first Glee star to graduate from McKinley High School to the silver screen. Will Agron be the biggest movie star of the New Directions bunch? Ahead — using nothing but common sense, speculation and bit of wishful thinking — Movieline counts down the ten Glee students most likely to succeed.

Which Glee Cast Members Are in Danger of Being Replaced?

This week Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced that he will be kicking several of his New Directions stars to the curb in 2012 because “there is nothing more depressing than a high schooler with a bald spot.” Well, except for a middle-aged white-rapping teacher who chooses to relive his glory days by dancing suggestively in front of a packed high school auditorium…but I digress. This is a serious threat for not only devoted Gleeks, but for the less talented, more aged actors posing as promgoers. (I’m talking to you, Monteith). Below, Movieline identifies which stars are highest on the endangered Glee -cies list.

‘Glee’-Cap: ‘Special Education’ Sticks Us With An Earworm

Train’s ‘Hey Soul Sister’ rears its unavoidable head as the glee clubs competed at Sectionals. By Jim Cantiello New Directions perform at Sectionals in the “Special Education” episode of “Glee” Photo: FOX Finally, the “Glee” kids (and some seniors) competed at Sectionals in this week’s “Special Education” episode. And as great as New Directions’ take on “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” and “Dog Days Are Over” were, there was one track that won’t get out of our heads. Sing along, if you dare! Hey-ey. Ey-ey-ey-ey-ey-ey, I really hate that f—ing Train song, it’s so annoying! Hey ey. Ey-ey-ey-ey-ey-ey, Even charming Darren Criss can’t get me to enjoy it. Wish it would die in a fiery death, But it’s like crystal meth, I’m all out of breath, Hatred in my veins Every time it finally clears From in between my ears, “Hey Soul Sister” rears It’s ugly head remains. The Warblers did a two-step dance that made me wanna cry. Hey Train, it’s time you said, “Bye bye!” [ Jim speaks ] Haven’t you guys made enough money? (I’m just sayin’ …) [ Singing ] Mr. Schue switches up some things: Blondies get a leading spot in the competition, Rachel’s lack of solo stings. She doesn’t like playing second fiddle (lots of bitching). New Directions lost a man. They need 12 to compete. This is really quite the crisis. Puck formulates a plan, But it backfires, until he finds one Lauren Zises. They sing while walking down the aisle, But listen, honey child, This isn’t worth our while. They did the same last year. Dirty dancing brings the crowd to their feet, But how did they compete Next to these antiques Singing “The Living Years”? New Directions and Warblers move on ’cause it ended in a tie. (Cop out!) I hope those old folks never die. Now Kurt’s in a blue uniform He got hazed by the Warblers They make him bird-sit. His reception is lukewarm. They shut down his ideas, Which is totally bullsh–. Oh, it’s so full of irony That he can finally be Who he wants to be As long as he blends in. He leans on Rachel’s musicality. Oh yeah, they’re now besties! You just know how “Glee” switches who are friends. Santana told Rachel that she and Finn had a good time, Which led to even more Rachel whine. Will invited Emma to the show. She told him, “Sorry, no.” Got hitched in Vegas, though. Stamos scored a bride. Will is bummed when he hears the news, But listen to me, dude, Don’t act all confused ’cause … If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it! Don’t be sad, the “Glee” kids will just sing on it! The dog days are over, so put some swing on it! If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it! [ To the melody of “Single Ladies” ] Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh [ Transitions into the melody of “Hey Soul Sister” ] TRAIN!!!!! Which was your favorite song on this week’s “Glee”? Talk about it in the comments. Related Videos Musical ‘Glee-Caps’ Of Season Two
