‘Glee’ Star Lea Michele Wants Justin Timberlake Super Bowl Episode

‘If not Justin, I would hope it would be the sequel to the Madonna episode,’ Michele says of possible post-Super Bowl show. He has to be on it! When I met Jessica Biel, like a loser, I asked her to tell Justin to come on our show. [ Laughs. ] She was a little taken aback and said, ‘Um, OK. I’ll tell him.’ ” Michele said that if “Glee” producers don’t make a JT episode happen, she’s fine with revisiting the hitmaking catalog of his “4 Minutes” collaborator. “If not Justin, I would hope it would be the sequel to the Madonna episode,” she said. “She has so many more amazing songs we didn’t even touch.” When the New Directions crew might tackle Timberlake’s hits is still up in the air, but the cast is buzzing about delving into the hits of his ex, Britney Spears . Michele is slated to revamp Spears’ debut smash ” … Baby One More Time,” and Heather Morris (whose character happens to be named Brittany) has said she wants to switch up “Toxic.” “Circus” and “Stronger” are other jams from the pop princess that might turn up in the episode, but castmember Naya Rivera said homing in on a few Spears songs is a major challenge. “There are so many great Britney songs to choose from; how do you pick just one?” Rivera wondered. Coldplay Acquiesces, Allows Glee to Use Its Songs

In what has to be one of the most predictable “just kidding!” moments of 2010, Chris Martin and his Coldplay bandmates have gone back on their initial rejection of Glee . The band was one of two major holdouts — the other being, hilariously, Bryan Adams — that refused to have their catalog performed by New Directions when the series began last year. But according to creator Ryan Murphy, they called him recently and apologized: “We’re sorry, you can have our catalog,” said the band through gritted teeth. Have you always wanted to hear Lea Michele and Cory Monteith sing ” Fix You “? Yeah, me too. What, you thought that was sarcasm? Lights will guide you home… [ Yahoo! ]

‘Glee’ Book Series Set To Hit Shelves In August

The first of the Fox-authorized publications will be a prequel to the TV series titled ‘Glee: The Beginning.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe The cast of “Glee” Photo: FOX “Glee” may have wrapped up its first season , but Gleeks jonesing for more Slushie-drenched drama will soon be able to hit the books and bone up on all the musical theater madness — literally. Entertainment Weekly reports that publisher Little, Brown Books for Young Readers will publish a collection of tomes based on the hit TV series. Unauthorized books based on the breakout show are already on the market, but the Fox TV team behind “Glee” will work with Little, Brown on the content for the upcoming volumes. The first book in the series, “Glee: The Beginning,” a prequel to the TV show, is set to land on bookshelves in August. The volume will arrive with a poster and is expected to be available by the time “Glee” heads back to the airwaves for its second season. Books aren’t the only “Glee”-inspired merchandise headed down the pike to fans. The Los Angeles Times reports that a “Glee” clothing line will hit Macy’s department stores just in time for back-to-school shopping. In addition, New Directions wannabes will also be able to pick up “Glee” accessories at teen trinket haven Claire’s by the fall. Even with the monster buzz the show has generated in its high-octane first season, Fox executives said they wanted to take their time rolling out product for the show’s cultish fans. “We didn’t want to just slap a ‘Glee’ logo on a shirt,” executive vice president of Fox Licensing Robert Marick told the Times. “The product has to reflect the creativity of the show.” Fans have already proved their buying power when it comes to “Glee” offerings with the show’s insanely popular soundtracks. Chock-full of earnest revamps of classic and contemporary hits, the albums have ruled the charts, with “Glee”: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers and “Glee”: The Music, The Power of Madonna both landing at #1 on the Billboard albums chart .

‘Glee’ Season Two Had Better Answer Some Questions

Where are Rachel’s dads? Can Brittany sing? And other mysteries not resolved in the season finale By Jean Bentley Matthew Morrison and Jayma Mays on the season finale of “Glee” Photo: FOX Sure, the “Glee” season finale was relatively cliffhanger-free. William McKinley High’s ragtag New Directions weren’t able to outperform the soulless automatons of Vocal Adrenaline, but got a stay of execution anyway from Sue Sylvester, allowing them to stick around for another year. Hooray! But not all of the loose ends were tied up. We were left with several unanswered questions that we’d like to see resolved in season season two. Can Brittany, Other Asian (sorry, Mike Chang) and Matt Rutherford sing? We know Santana (Naya Rivera) can belt out a tune (see: “Like a Virgin,” “The Boy Is Mine,” “Bad Romance”), but can the other three popular-kids-turned-gleeks? Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr. and Dijon Talton are fantastic dancers, but as their roles on the show grow, we wonder if they’ll get to perform anything but backup. Pretty much every single other character has gotten a solo (even Emma and Terri!), so it’s about time we heard from those three — unless they’re terrible. Why haven’t we met Rachel’s dads? Since Rachel finding her birth mother was such a big plotline in the second half of the season, it’s surprising we never heard from the two men who actually raised the ultra-talented, ultra-driven girl. We’re expecting to see them in season two and hoping the “Glee” gods cast actors who look exactly like the goofy guys in the photo booth strip we saw in the pilot episode. Speaking of families, will Quinn forgive her mother and move back in? And what’s up with Finn’s living situation? Quinn went into labor before she was able to resolve her issues with her mother. After being so horribly treated after her parents found out she was pregnant, it will probably take some time for her to forgive them. As for Finn, after Burt Hummel kicked him out for using a gay slur, it wasn’t really specified where he went to live. We’re going to assume he just moved back into his old house, but wouldn’t he have had to explain things to his mother? Did Burt forgive him after he dressed in drag to protect Kurt? Why doesn’t the piano accompanist ever smile? Seriously, that dude’s heart must be made of coal to not at least get a little warm and fuzzy listening to New Directions beat the odds and inspire people all the time. Plus, the energetic “Glee”-ification of every song is contagious. Everything’s possible! Yeah! See, we’re writing with extra exclamation points just thinking about it! Can’t piano dude crack a smile just once? How can Cory Monteith play the drums so well but not have any rhythm when he dances? This is one question we fear may never be answered. Cory is so confident on the skins, but watching him flail around when he tries to dance sometimes makes us feel uncomfortable, like watching bad “American Idol” auditions. Amusing, but cringe-inducing. (We kid. He’s really not that bad, but it is baffling.) What other questions would you like to see answered in the second season of “Glee”?

Movieline Forecasts Glee’s Second-Season Character Arcs

To paraphrase The Treasure of the Sierra Madre : Cliffhangers? Glee don’t need no stinkin’ cliffhangers! The season finale of America’s current obsession felt like a series finale with the way it neatly wrapped up all the plot strands that had accumulated throughout the season: New Directions was canceled, but then saved; Rachel and Finn got back together; Quinn had her baby and gave it away; Other Asian had a line of dialogue. Where can the show go from here?! Movieline breaks out the crystal ball and predicts what lies ahead for the denizens of William McKinley High School.
