Three Year Old Tightrope Walker: Raw Video

A three-year-old Chinese girl created a sensation by walking on a thin wire barehanded above six hungry Siberian tigers at a zoo in eastern Jiangsu province, local media reported. On her first step, Zhang Xiaoyan of the Jiangxi Elite Children Arts Troupe, was nearly blown off the wire by a strong gust of wind in front of a worried audience. The girl held no balancing pole, and simply used her outstretched arms to keep balance. A safety rope was attached around her waist to save her from the big cats that were watching eagerly from nine meters (29 feet) below. The stunt also involved two adult acrobats who crossed the wire using a bicycle and a ladder as props. Zhang's performance was set to challenge performer Adili Wuxor, who in 1997 attracted the world's attention to the old Uigur acrobatics by walking across the Yangtze River in the fastest speed ever recorded. The stunt established a new Guinness World Record and won him the title of “Prince of High-wire Walking”. “I am afraid of the tigers standing below, as they can bite,” Zhang told a journalist after she was lowered from the wire by two fellow performers. Zhang, deemed the world's youngest tightrope walker by local media, started training when she was a year old. “Yes, I do (like tightrope walking), because I started from a very young age,” she said when asked if she liked tightrope walking. Spectators were impressed, but not her father Zhang Shenwen, also the director of the troupe. “She walked almost 60 meters yesterday when we did the training. She didn't do so well today,” he said. The girl failed three times before managing to walk 50 meters. “I was a bit worried. People say tigers cannot climb trees, but one of the tigers jumped and another one climbed onto the tree yesterday during the training. I was so scared,” Zhang added. The father and troupe director has drawn criticism for pulling the stunt which critics say amounted to child abuse. added by: ctv

Saw 2 Coming This Fall

A sequel to the video game Saw has been announced. Saw 2 , a grisly survival-horror/puzzle game, will be available for the PS3 and 360 this fall. The game, from Konami and Zombie Studios, promises “all-new stomach-twisting traps and puzzles, more visceral combat, and an all-new storyline that takes place between the second and third movie.” “The original Saw video game gave horror fans and gamers a new outlet to advance their favorite genre, but left them wanting more,” Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director, Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH, said in a statement. “Saw 2 will give it to them, but be careful for what you wish for! Our successful partnership with Lionsgate allows us to advance the survival horror genre, giving players the most intense look into the Saw universe ever.” Hear that? A First Look at Crysis 2

Why does my home state of New York always get the shaft? Between giant monsters, super-villains and destructive aliens, you’d think someone would invest in some top-notch defense detail by now! The latest to call NYC its victim: Crysis 2 , and to witness the rubble in all its digital glory, our own Andrew Pfister flew to the Big Apple to get our first look at the game. What did he see? Long gone are the idyllic beaches, rocky outcrops and lush canopy of the jungle that defined both of the company’s biggest games, Far Cry and Crysis . The pitch now is “urban jungle,” with palm trees replaced by traffic lights, beaches swapped for bus stops, and rocky cliffs transformed into skyscraper rubble. Disaster has once more found a home downtown. Oh great! Why couldn’t this happen to Boise?! See what else is in store for Crysis fans in our full Crysis 2 preview , including a first peek at the new trailer entitled, “The Wall.”
