Rep tells MTV News ‘Sonny with a Chance’ star ‘remains committed,’ despite false reports that she would leave for Thanksgiving. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: Jason LaVeris/ WireImage On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Demi Lovato had plans to leave her treatment facility next week to spend Thanksgiving with her family. Sources told E! News that the Disney star hoped to be home for the holiday. However, a rep for the starlet denies that report in a statement to MTV News. “Recent reports stating that Demi Lovato will be out of treatment by Thanksgiving are false,” the rep tells us. “While she would of course love to be home for the holidays, she remains committed first and foremost to her treatment.” The rep does goes on to say that “Demi has made tremendous progress to date, but understands that she has more work to do. Unfortunately, the news outlet that reported this story originally failed to call us for comment or to fact check the story before it was printed.” Lovato quit her tour with the Jonas Brothers about two weeks ago to deal with “emotional and physical issues.” Last week, Disney released a statement noting that they would revamp Lovato’s series , “Sonny with a Chance,” to reflect her absence, focusing the story line on the inner-workings of the sketch comedy program Lovato’s character, Sonny, appears on, “So Random!” “This allows her the time she needs to get well, without distraction or pressure,” a Disney Channel spokesperson said. “Again, we extend our ongoing support to Demi and her family as she works to overcome personal issues.” The show’s new format will focus on a beefed-up version of “So Random!” packed with guest stars, performances and digital shorts. Tron: Legacy Sneak Peek — Hop On Your Lightcycles

The Disney Channel is taking a break from showing Jonas Brothers flossing and “That’s So Raven” reruns to air a quick sneak peek at some additional scenes from Tron: Legacy . I would say it’s only about a third of stuff you haven’t already seen in the trailer, but still! It’s all glowy and cool and computery and stuff. And isn’t that what we really want in our Tron ?

Foxy Brown Testifies Before Grand Jury

By Jayson Rodriguez Foxy Brown Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Foxy Brown testified before a grand jury on Wednesday about charges stemming from her arrest last month in Brooklyn over an argument with a neighbor. Foxy has a history of feuding with the neighbor, Arlene Raymond, dating back to 2007. According to the New York Daily News, Foxy was interviewed for three hours about the incident. In July, the Brooklyn femcee was arrested after a dispute with Raymond. The rapper reportedly had to be restrained from the woman; a police report also suggested Foxy flashed the neighbor with her backside. No decision was made after Wednesday’s testimony, but Brown could be slapped with a felony charge for violating a restraining order Raymond obtained after her initial spat with Foxy three years ago. Foxy spoke to MTV News after her first court appearance late last month and firmly denied the allegations. “I was on my way to rehearsal with my band and I was leaving my mom’s house in Park Slope, [Brooklyn], where I always go; that’s the home that I was born in,” she said. “And the police came and they saw the situation and there wasn’t any conflict or discord — they were really baffled. But a supervisor came and saw the [potential for] publicity. If my name was Keisha Brown and not Foxy Brown, I would have been let go.” After she exited the Brooklyn court house Wednesday, Foxy told members of the media gathered outside that she hopes the actual account of the incident will be heard. “It feels so good to tell the truth,” she said. “This thing has been such a nightmare.” Do you think Foxy can finally put her legal troubles behind her? Joe Jonas Gushes About Filming ‘Hot In Cleveland’ Cameo With Betty White

By Kara Warner Joe Jonas Photo: MTV News Somewhere in between preparing for and launching the current Jonas Brothers tour and starring in Disney’s “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” Joe Jonas found the time to do a guest spot on TV Land’s new hit, “Hot in Cleveland.” MTV News was invited to visit the set recently to catch a glimpse of the middle Jonas in action. In the episode, which airs Wednesday night (August 11), Jonas’ character comes to visit his newly transplanted mom, played by Valerie Bertinelli. In the scene we watched, mother and son sit down to reconnect at a restaurant, and Jonas plays the “typical aloof teen” to a T — he is texting friends throughout the conversation, despite his mom’s attempts to capture his attention. When we caught up with the 20-year-old between takes, Jonas said despite having prior sitcom work in his own TV series “JONAS” on the Disney Channel, work on the “Cleveland” set was a completely new experience. “We don’t have a live audience,” he said of the major difference. “And I’m hanging out with some amazing actresses. They are just incredible. Everyone on the set is just so talented. I’m playing Valerie’s son, and I’m having a lot of fun. We rehearsed, and we just shot our first scene together, so hopefully it will look all right.” Asked if TV veteran Bertinelli or co-stars Wendy Malick, Jane Leeves and Betty White had imparted any advice, Jonas said he was just trying to soak up everything from the actresses. “Just being around them, they are so talented that you just learn so much from them so quickly,” he said. “And hanging out with them and watching Betty White knit is just so adorable, so I’m having a great time.” Speaking of White, we threw Jonas a curveball by asking: If Joe could be any Golden Girl, which one would he be? “Betty, of course. She’s back in the studio, but unlike her first two efforts, this one will sound a little less hardcore, as Demi embraces her inner-R&B diva. “I’m really excited for working on new music in the spare time that I have before I go out on tour with the Jonas Brothers,” she told MTV News on Monday in Los Angeles at the VH1 Do Something Awards . “I’m working on new music, writing new songs, trying to approach a different route, doing a new sound,” Lovato continued. “I’m really excited. It’ll be fun. It’s more R&B/pop. I’m trying to bring out my inner ‘soul’; a new side of Demi,” she laughed. “I’m straying away from the rock this time.” If Lovato’s enthusiasm about working on her next project wasn’t obvious already, her Twitter posts make it clear. A lot of her recent tweets have been updates about working on that new album or just gigging around with friends. “I’m literally in love with music . Everything I do in life is for music. If I could, I would marry music,” she wrote over the weekend. “Gathered around with friends playing music.. I live and breathe for these moments in my life. “Yes!!! Finished writing a song that I’m so proud to call my own!! It’s moments like these that make me never want to stop writing music.. :D,” Lovato tweeted just days before. “Writing a song that I think my South American fans will love…. 😉 this ones for you guys…. Just got the rough cut of the song we did yesterday… soooo excited right now!” Although it’ll be some time before fans actually get to hear these new songs, they can check out Lovato on her Disney Channel series “Sonny With a Chance.” Earlier this year, she teased some of what to expect during the rest of the season. “I think surprises will include guest stars, really awesome guest stars,” she told MTV News. “And also the romance between Sterling Knight’s character and Sonny. There’s definitely a romance factor, but it’s interesting because they play on rival shows and the casts aren’t really fond of each other. The City Season Finale: Whitney Sells Out Kelly

The second season of The City came to an end last night. Is Whitney Port’s relationship with Kelly Cutrone also over after the events we just saw play out? When Whitney is approached by a PR woman, she quickly gets in over her head and finds herself torn between a new opportunity and her loyal supporter. What will she decide? Selena Gomez: Leaving Wizards of Waverly Place

Selena Gomez is making like Miley Cyrus. No, the teenager isn’t ditching pants or putting out a failed album . But Selena is leaving the TV show that made her famous, announcing this week her plans to exit Wizards of Waverly Place when its fourth season concludes. “Unfortunately, I’m doing my last season of my show, which I’m really heartbroken about. That’s gonna be a terrible time for me,” the 17-year old told MTV. Gomez has played Alex Russo on the Disney Channel series since its pilot episode. However, just because Gomez is walking away from the small screen doesn’t mean she’s leaving the role of Alex forever. “I’m gonna do a movie for my show, which I’ll be excited to end it with, and then a tour,” she said. Selena has made news recently for her life away from the set. She briefly dated Nick Jonas, only to break up with him in April. That’s right, teenage male readers: this pretty star is available!

The guys have given the next installment of “JONAS” a new name: “JONAS L.A.” The JoBros are trying their luck in the City of Angels, and they think fans will enjoy the change of scenery. “We’re excited for the TV show to come out. It’s something we’ve been working on since February and looking forward for everyone to be seeing it,” Joe told MTV News about the show, premiering in June. “We take the band and move it out to L.A., where we’re all trying to do different, individual projects.” While the plot of the show seems vaguely influenced by real-life events ( Joe recently teased that he and his brothers are working on solo projects), fans might be surprised by the new format of the show. “I think what’s really neat is it’s the first time the Disney Channel is doing a continuous story line,” Kevin added. “Every episode is ‘Next time, on “JONAS” ‘ or ‘Last time on “JONAS.” ‘ It allows the characters to grow and you follow them through relationships, the good and the bad.” Like the JoBros, tourmate Demi Lovato is also looking forward to finding love on her show, “Sonny With a Chance.” “There’s definitely more romance this season finally between Chad and Sonny,” she said of the show, which kicks off this summer. “So you can see how that evolves with the cast of ‘So Random,’ how they react to Chad and Sonny’s new flame.” She also said fans should look forward to Joe Jonas making a cameo this season, as well as Raven-Symon

Ashley Tisdale Promises ‘Special Cameo’ In ‘High School Musical’ Spin-Off

By Jocelyn Vena Ashley Tisdale Photo: MTV News Ashley Tisdale isn’t going to be the only person reviving her “High School Musical” character for her spin-off flick, “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventures.” Executive producer Tisdale hasn’t ruled out getting bestie Vanessa Hudgens on-board for the movie, which will air on the Disney Channel, but who else is she planning to cast? Well, she isn’t telling. “I know [Vanessa’s] super-busy because she’s about to promote her movies and stuff,” she told MTV News at the CW upfront where she was promoting her new show, “Hellcats,” adding, “But we definitely do have a special cameo. You just don’t know which character it is. I do. I just can’t tell you. It’s a secret!” While she’s keeping “High School Musical” fans wondering who will appear in the spin-off of the beloved franchise, she does say that right now she’s gearing up to get back into the Sharpay Evans headspace. “We just started doing everything with it. We just started the photo shoots,” she explained. “I’ve been in wardrobe. I leave in like four days for Toronto. It’s a character that’s kind of underneath my skin.” Fans may be used to seeing Sharpay as the outlandish, slightly flamboyant chick in the “High School Musical” movies, and she says that this film will show a new side of the character. “You just take her out whenever you need to. I do think of her as her own person, but it’s a lot of fun,” she said. “The script shows Sharpay in a totally different light. Everyone’s in college.
