The Jasmine Brand reports that Hill loaned the money to her cousin, Gerald Hill with the condition that he would have to pay 10% interest if the money wasn’t given back in three months. According to ABC 7 , Kristina Gibson allegedly got drunk while watching a movie and tried to drive home with her child. Neighbors that know Gibson mentioned that they are very shocked by this story. Email Submit Gibson got intoxicated at the theater and people there complained about her 5-year-old son being upset during the movie. She was too drunk to walk out and care for him. Gibson was asked to leave the theater and the police were called. At that point she became very upset. She is now wanted on charges of reckless endangerment as well as public intoxication. Audrey Wells, who wrote and directed the 2003 romantic comedy “Under the Tuscan Sun” as well as the screenplay for the new film “The Hate U Give,” has died after a five-year battle with cancer. A representative from United Talent Agency says Wells died Thursday. Wells worked on notible projects throughout her career, like screenplays for films like “The Truth About Cats and Dogs,” and “Shall We Dance,” with Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere. Wells also wrote the script for the critically-acclaimed new film “The Hate U Give,” an adaptation of Angie Thomas’ young adult novel about a police shooting of a young black man. The film starring Amandla Stenberg is now playing in limited release before it expands nationwide Oct. 19. UTA Co-President David Kramer said in a statement that Wells was “truly special.” “The strong, independent female characters she shaped resonate today more than ever and will be a part of her legacy always,” Kramer said. “We will miss her amazing, spirit, creativity and the love she gave us.” So sad, may she rest in peace.

Source: Robert Daly / Getty Former Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke who took the witness stand this week and said whatever he could to convince a jury that he was justified in gunning down LaQuan McDonald nearly four years ago, has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of the Black teen today (October 5). Email Submit Van Dyke wiped tears from his eyes as he gave testimony that contradicted video evidence in the case, the Washington Post reported. The ex-officer claimed that 17-year-old McDonald kept “advancing” at him waiving a knife, so he had to keep firing until the teenager fell to the ground. However, police dashboard camera video of the shooting shows McDonald walking away when Van Dyke fired 16 bullets at the teenager, continuing to fire even after the teen hit the ground. Two officers followed McDonald in their patrol car before calling for a backup officer who was equipped with a Taser. Van Dyke, one of the backup officers who arrived, allegedly got out of his vehicle with his gun drawn and started shooting as McDonald moved slightly away from him. The defense is expected to wrap up its case on Wednesday.
