Jana is still single at 27, a fact that’s considered highly unusual in a family in which girls are taught that procreation is their sole reason for being, and most young women become mothers in their early twenties. As a result of not having any children of her own, Jana has served as an endless source of support to her family, and Anna even went so far as to state that she’s happy her eldest sister-in-law is unattached. “Jana has been such an encouragement and such a rock this past year of my life. It’s no secret that Kylie Jenner is pregnant , but even though the entire world (barring those who’ve spent the past few weeks in a coma) knows it, she refuses to comment. But while questions linger over how long she could possibly avoid commenting on this non-secret, no one seriously doubts the reports of Kylie’s pregnancy. Especially not now that she’s starting to tease fans and followers with new photos where she’s hiding her baby bump! Kylie Jenner is going to become a mother at 20. Travis Scott is going to become a father at 25. While people have — and even still do — sometimes have children at even younger ages, that doesn’t mean that these two are necessarily at the optimal age to become parents. Thankfully, Kylie did not plan to get pregnant with her rebound boyfriend so early in their relationship. It just happened. (Based upon when she’s due, it looks like they were dating for maybe a month when Kylie got pregnant) There’s a lot of responsibility involved in becoming a mother that Kylie, who was just 19 years old when she got pregnant late last spring, hasn’t ever experienced before. Her maternal instincts are probably on point because, well, she’s the only one of the Kardashian clan who seems properly obsessed with her dogs. But instinct isn’t going to make you a great parent. Experience does. Patience does. And so does knowing when to ask for help. We’ve heard a lot about how Kylie took all of those into account and will be relying a lot on her extended family for support, but until that Kylie pregnancy announcement officially comes , we still haven’t heard that in Kylie’s own words. But Kylie isn’t leaving folks empty-handed, because she’s sharing a couple of new photos and they are … conspicuously dissimilar to her usual pics. If we didn’t know that Kylie’s pregnant, we’d want to dismiss this as her being goofy — but we might wonder if she might be hiding something under that voluminous fabric. That shirt probably isn’t even all that large, but on Kylie’s tiny frame, it’s a circus tent. The perfect way to hide a baby bump while making absolutely certain that the entire world knows that you’re hiding a baby bump. It looks like, even though Kylie is several months into her pregnancy, she’s really not accumulating much weight gain around her neck and face. (And whatever pregnancy weight might be there, she’s concealing with angles and makeup and lighting — that’s kind of her area of expertise, or whatever) Baby bumps aren’t so easy to hide, especially when you’ve built your brand upon wearing curve-hugging outfits while sporting a super flat tummy. Honestly, this looks almost insanely comfortable. A lot of Kylie’s outfits (not all of them — but a lot of them) look like they’re great for photographs and general sexiness but not much else. This bigass shirt, though, looks all kinds of comfy. And, as Kylie makes clear in both of these photos, she’s still keeping up her nail game. We look forward to whenever Kylie shares her story about how this pregnancy is treating her and what her experience has been like. But we can assume that it’s, at the very least, not one of those awful debilitating pregnancies where you can’t even get dressed. It’s hard to see her going the extra mile to wear nails like these if she’s about to collapse back into bed or go running for the bathroom as soon as she’s done posing. Even though we know so much about Kylie’s pregnancy, a lot of questions linger. What we’re most eager to discover is what sort of ridiculous Kardashian name Kylie is going to choose, and if she’ll be starting a gimmick to follow with all of her children. Is a wedding in the future for Kylie and Travis? We’ve heard rumors, but we want to hear all of this from Kylie. For now, we guess, she’d rather just tease us all. Isabel Rock has people talking. And wondering. And asking many, many questions. This is the first question you may be asking: Who is Isabel Rock? She’s the girlfriend of Jacob Roloff, the former Little People, Big World cast member who quit the TLC reality show last summer amidst allegations that the show is phony and scripted. Over the past year or so, Rock and Roloff have been on a constant road trip, traveling along the Pacific Northwest with their two dogs. We've all witness the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. For millions who live in Houston and the surrounding areas of Texas to others along the gulf, this is a life-changing event. For the rest of us, we only need to check our phones or turn on the television to see the flooding and the suffering. People from all over the country (and other countries) are volunteering their time, money, resources, and expertise to help in any way that they can. That includes a number of celebrities who have donated to Houston relief efforts . Among these generous celebrity donors is Tyler Perry. We have his video below, and he's pledging $1 million to help Houston. Harvey has dumped a record-breaking amount of water on Houston. Yes, Houston is designed to flood. The roads are absolutely designed to catch water. But no city is designed for this much flooding. Especially not when it comes this quickly. We've seen streets turn into rivers so deep that they cover the tops of cars and trucks. Waves run across the surface of the water. That's how much we're talking about. We've seen homes and neighborhoods consumed by floodwaters. People have been swept away. People have drowned. People have been electrocuted. Some people are doubtless still isolated, or waiting to hear from loved ones. To say nothing of the countless heartbreaking stories of dogs who were separated from or abandoned by their humans. (Some dogs were even tied to posts, which you shouldn't do even when you're not condemning your dog to drown to death) This is a natural disaster but also a humanitarian crisis. Tyler Perry, the actor, writer, director, and producer who honestly doesn't need us or anyone else to explain who he is, took to Facebook yesterday to announce his pledge to help with the relief efforts. In the video, he talks about how much he's giving and how he's choosing to share his money. “This is about helping people, so if you want to give, I challenge you to find someone who has boots on the ground.” Note that he isn't suggesting something easy, like donating to the Red Cross. A number of people are leery of donating to the Red Cross after criticisms that Haiti still hasn't seen much of the money donated after their devastating earquake back during Obama's first term as President. The Red Cross has also been unable to clarify how much of what's donated to them right now will go directly to Houston. “I'm sending $250,000 to Lakewood, to make sure they can get all the supplies that people need, and I know for sure that they will. Also, I'm working with Beyonce's pastor [Rudy Rasmus], giving another $250,000 to Bread of Life to make sure that things are immediately getting to the people.” Tyler Perry also says that he is “saving $500,000 for other charities right now.” That is smart, because you don't always know what is immediately necessary. Some places have plenty of food, but need diapers or clothing. Other places have plenty of supplies, but need people with medical training. In addition to working hard to avoid charity scams (seriously, con artists will come out of the woodwork when there's a disaster and people want to donate), you need to see where the chips fall before you can determine where your money will do the most good. People physically on the ground (or in the water, in most cases) may be the best equipped to determine what needs to be done. Some celebrities, like Miranda Lambert, are just running their own relief efforts. Miranda has been rescuing dogs by the truckload and taking them to the safety of dry shelters outside of Texas. We're not going to pretend that Tyler Perry isn't problematic. He has a history of, especially through his films, making some alarming suggestions about things like HIV (which seem to be a curse). And though Tyler Perry himself is an abuse-survivor , he sometimes features abuse in his comedy. (Different people process their traumas in different ways, to be fair, but by using it for “physical comedy” he sends mixed messages) Even in this video, Tyler Perry defends Joel Osteen for not immediately opening the doors of his megachurch as a shelter. That's bound to be controversial. But we're going to give credit where credit is due, and Tyler Perry is putting a lot of money towards relief efforts and he's doing it in a very smart way.
Okay, bear with us please, because this is more than a little weird. Just about every modern pregnancies comes with at least one sonogram, an image of a fetus in development that doctors use to monitor health and development. Parents use it to share their excitement. But one couple spotted something a little odd on their sonogram. And it looked, to them, like Jesus. You see it, right? Right there on the left. You see what looks like a long-haired guy with a beard. Culturally, we’re taught to recognize that, not as Poseidon or basically any dude from the 1970s, but as Jesus. This sonogram was taken shortly before Briella was born. Briella’s parents, Alicia Zeek and Zac Smith, were struck immediately by the distinctive image in their sonogram. Alicia and Zac, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, spoke about the phenomenon. “When they gave it to us… Umm, to me, it’s Jesus,” Alicia says. “And it looks like Jesus.” At first, she couldn’t believe her eyes. “I blinked a lot, to kinda make sure I was really seeing it…” Zac also spoke about it. “This is distinct — I mean, there’s another face looking at my daughter!” The couple say that they’re not particularly religious, but Zac describes a very emotional response to the image. “When I seen it, it almost brought tears to my eyes… I was speechless, I just couldn’t believe it, I really didn’t believe what I was seeing.” This from a couple who describe themselves as not being particularly religious. From people reporting that they’ve seen Jesus’ image appear “miraculously” on toast to pointing out that they see Jesus take shape around their dog’s butthole … (Yes, really) … it’s very common for people to spot what they’ll describe as an image of Jesus’ face on everyday items. We’ll get into the psychology behind that in a moment, but we should acknowledge that it’s fairly widespread. But many regard such appearances as novelty items. (Though often devout Christians are irritated by what they see as frivolous claims of “miracles” that they feel embarrass their religious community) For Alicia and Zac, however, this was a positive omen. Zac describes his interpretation: “The angel or God or Jesus, however you want to propose it, I look at it as my blessing.” Alicia and Zac had two very difficult pregnancies, with their first child being born with a series of complications and their second chidlbirth nearly claiming Alicia’s life. Briella, who was born healthy, is their third child. We’re not going to tell anyone what to believe, of course. The thing is that human beings are psychologically wired to pick out hidden faces. This makes a lot of sense for the survival of our species — to recognize each other, but also to spot ambushes or other threats. The same thing applies to recognizing familiar iconography. Some images are so omnipresent in our culture that, regardless of someone’s beliefs, You can grow up non-religious in a non-religious household and still have angels and Jesus and everything firmly embedded in your psyche, because Christianity has dominated Western culture for a full millennium. But Christians who believe that these apparitions — even the seemingly irreverent ones — are genuine omens would point out that just because the human mind constantly searches for “faces” doesn’t mean that a genuine face couldn’t show up. That’s fair. As for Alicia and Zac, we’re just glad that they found it comforting at the end of a very tense pregnancy.
Over the years, American Horror Story has centered seasons on witches, circus freaks and killers in black leather sex suits. But the upcoming season may be the strangest and scariest to date… because it will focus on the 2016 Presidential Election! Sort of! Creator Ryan Murphy has teased that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will both play some kind of role on American Horror Story: Cult, with the just-revealed opening credits sequence featuring characters donning the masks of both these polarizing figures. There are also bees depicted below, along with many creepy masks and dead dogs. What else do know about new fall episodes? Ryan has previously teased a “love story for the ages” between Sarah Paulson's character and that of Evan Peters… although Paulson will be married to a woman played by Allison Pill. “I think it's going to reveal itself in surprising ways,” Paulson said at the 2017 TCA summer press tour of her romance. Billie Lourd, Cheyenne Jackson, Colton Haynes, Billy Eichner, Adina Porter and Leslie Grossman will also star in the new season; while Lena Dunham, Frances Conroy and Mare Winningham will make appearances. “We've got bloody tension, a well-cooked meal, an exciting trip to a grocery store,” previewed executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall this summer of what’s on tap,adding: “I just think it is true to our brand, which is you're going to be in a whole new world all over again and fall in love with these really special characters and hate yourself for watching it right before you go to bed and love.” The 11-episode season will be set in Michigan and take place the night of the 2016 presidential election. Kim is under no obligation to divulge the details of her son’s condition, but from what she chose to share, we can surmise that the incident left Kash with both physical and psychological scars that could last a lifetime. It’s for that reason that many fans are shocked by Kim’s choice of present for her son’s fifth birthday. According to a Snapchat from Kim posted yesterday, she and husband Kroy Biermann surprised Kash with a pit bull puppy. She shared a photo of the boy and his dog with fans, most of whom have been supportive of her decision. She captioned the image: “My heart is going to explode.” The choice of present resulted in some negative comments online for obvious reasons. Some bashed Kim as insensitive for putting the child in a position where showing fear would mean rejecting a birthday present from his parents. Others defended the reality star, pointing out that she’s posted photos of Kash playing with dogs on more than one occasion since his attack.
