This b*tch is crazy for her little dog. It started out as a typical evening for 22-year-old Brooke Collins. She let her dogs out as usual but this time, she said there was a black bear outside who took hold of her dachshund Fudge. She said she feared for her pet’s life and, in an instant, ran over and punched the bear right in the face to make it let go. “It was all so fast. All I could think about was my dog was going to die,” said Collins. “It was a stupid thing but I couldn’t help it,” she said. “I know you’re not supposed to do that but I didn’t want my dog to be killed.” We’ve heard that fear can make a person do crazy things, but this takes the cake. We wouldn’t even punch a slightly larger dog that had our dogs in a death grip. We don’t know if she’s dumb or brave. Good thing she survived.

By Kara Warner with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene Photo: MTV News Although the “Twilight” cast has wrapped filming on the franchise’s two-part final chapter, “Breaking Dawn,” their work together is far from over, considering the very last film won’t open in theaters until November 2012 and the young actors have plenty of promotional commitments to fulfill until then. But having spent so much time together, we wondered whether the castmembers ever get sick of one another. When MTV News caught up with Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, we put that question to them. We also asked the two stars if they had thought about how they’ll feel when it’s time to say goodbye to the series. “We’re never sick of each other,” Lutz said. “You do a project for seven months of your life, and you’re really just anxious to get home. I was really excited to see my dogs, [sleep] in my own bed. And then … we’re here at Comic-Con; we’re going to be here next year. We have a lot of press and a lot of opportunities to hang out with the fans, and that’s what I really look forward to,” he admitted. “Playing my role of Emmett — I love doing these movies — but by no way are we saying goodbye. We have a good couple years ahead of us and, you know, it’s just great to work with best friends for so many movies,” Lutz continued. “We see a lot of each other and we’re all blessed to be working outside of ‘Twilight,’ but it’s nice to all come together again.” Discussing how the best friends spend their downtime during filming, Lutz and Greene revealed that they geek out with board games and grocery shopping. ” ‘DanceDance Revolution,’ Lutz said. “Hasbro sent a lot of games to Ashley and I, so we have a lot of game nights, which is fun; cook, [watch] movies.” “Grocery shopping at Whole Foods,” Greene added of another production activity. “Which is terrible because I spend hundreds of dollars there by the time [we finish],” Lutz admitted. “You don’t understand,” Greene laughed, “They knew us by name there and it was the fun thing [to do], like, ‘Wanna go grocery shopping?’ Because then we could cook,” she explained. “Super, super cool.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Band’s first major-label effort, In the Mountain in the Cloud, is a big thing, borne of even bigger tensions. By James Montgomery Portugal. The Man Photo: MTV News Portugal. The Man have released six albums in six years (plus a completely re-recorded acoustic record too), but they’ve never made anything like In the Mountain in the Cloud, their latest swirling, psychedelic effort. Mainly because it almost killed them. “To be perfectly honest, we wrote the album, did pre-production and then everything fell apart,” singer/songwriter/guitarist John Gourley told MTV News. “And I think it was the fact that this had all fallen apart that it actually came together so well in the end. I think we spent seven months, eight months on the album, and it was just going into the studio, messing everything up, leaving the studio, crying about it for a month on tour, then trying again.” The recording of In the Mountain, which hit stores on Tuesday, was rife with intra-band tensions, battles with producer John Hill and a fair amount of boozy flare-ups. All of these were new experiences for the band, who — as you may know by now — first formed in Sarah Palin’s old stomping grounds of Wasilla, Alaska, and spent the first years of their existence making music in relative anonymity. All of that changed when they signed with Atlantic Records and began mulling the prospects of making a major -label record. “We were definitely feeling it at the time,” bassist Zachary Carothers sighed. “We signed to Atlantic Records and this was going to be our first release on the label, so we didn’t want to let anybody down. Not us or anyone. And, of course, we wanted them to like it too.” Which is where the perils Portugal faced differ slightly from those of innumerable bands that make the jump to a major: They weren’t being told what they couldn’t do, they were being asked what they could. And that prospect paralyzed them more than anything. “We had this meeting with Atlantic … and we were talking about songs — the reason we play music, why we love music, our favorite writers — this big meeting about songs,” Gourley said, “And as I left that meeting, they said to me, ‘Hey John, you know what? Just forget all that stuff. Just make the record you want to make.’ And, I don’t know why, but that was the most difficult part.” But after some months, the record began to take shape. And, if anything, it really was the album that Portugal. The Man had always longed to make: a crawling, sprawling thing, brimming with big ideas and even bigger ambitions. From the sun-dappled psych of “Got It All (This Can’t Be Living Now)” to the slow-burning churn of “Sleep Forever,” it’s unquestionably one of the year’s most compelling listens, a decidedly major album in just about every conceivable way. And even if they have signed with the big boys, Portugal are still finding ways to keep things manageably micro: Take, for example, their epic mini-movie for “Sleep Forever,” which, though it’s filled with epic shots of the Alaskan wilderness, was actually little more than a home movie. It just looks like it cost a million bucks. “We just went out behind my parent’s house in Willow, Alaska, and got some footage from a plane as well,” Gourley explained. “It was all fairly inexpensive, because we just lived at home and went out every day for a week and a half and made our own food … and the dogs were already there — my parents mush dogs, ran the Iditarod and everything.” Tell us what you think of Portugal. We’ve heard of being an animal lover but this is just ridiculous! A dog eat dog world would have actually been better than this scenario. A man is facing an animal cruelty charge after his grandson saw him attempting to have sex with a dog, according to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Eugene Hickman, 54, was arrested on Saturday morning and charged with one felony count of animal cruelty, according to the report. His family contacted law enforcement after the grandson told his father that he had seen Hickman nude in the bedroom on top of the dog, the report stated. When asked about the incident, Hickman didn’t deny it and said he knew it was wrong and wouldn’t do it again, the report said. The 3-year-old female bulldog was turned over to animal control by deputies and was going to be examined by a veterinarian. NASTY!!!! Other reports say he tried getting it on with the dog but wasn’t able to get his male part to enter her. That poor kid is probably traumatized for life just from seeing that! Source
Cindy Anthony shocked courtroom observers today when she testified in the trial of her daughter, Casey, and proclaimed: ” I searched for chloroform.” Mrs. Anthony was referring to the revelation that searches for disturbing terms – such as “chloroform” and “neck breaking” – were found in deleted space on the hard drive of the family’s laptop. But Cindy tried to convince jurors today that there was an innocent explanation for it all: “I was searching for ‘chlorophyll’ because I was worried that it might affect my dogs. I was worried about them eating bamboo,” she said, adding about the term chest injuries : “A friend of mine was in a car accident, and I looked up certain injuries… “I did not search for neck breaking, but there was a pop up for a YouTube video of a skateboarder doing a ‘neck breaking’ stunt.” Records suggest that Cindy Anthony was at work at the time of these searches, but Casey’s mother simply said it was “possible” she had returned home from her job by then. Cindy first took the stand on Tuesday in the trial that has captivated millions. Casey Anthony faces the death penalty if found guilty of her daughter’s 2008 death.

Snoop served as an honorary pallbearer at the funeral which also brought out a who’s who of west coast hip-hop including Xzibit, DJ Quik, Game, Kurupt and Daz Dillinger. “It hurts me so much to see this,” Warren G said during his speech at the funeral. “We been through a whole lot and that was my dog.
