Duggar Family: Living in Seclusion, Struggling to Forgive Josh, Source Says

Back in May, the Josh Duggar molestation scandal rocked the world of reality television by shattering the image of one of its most beloved families. The 19 Kids and Counting clan was still reeling from the shock of that scandal when it was revealed this week that Josh cheated on his wife  with the help of the adultery-facilitating website, Ashley Madison.  Parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have issued a statement addressing Josh’s latest indiscretions, but insiders say that may be the last we’ll hear from the family for a very long time: “We’re all hunkered down over here,” a family insider tells People magazine. “It’s just a mess, it’s a whole mess. We don’t even know what the truth is anymore. It’s insane.” “I would assume [Josh] feels like his life is ruined. It will be such a steep and practically impossible climb to come back from this.” The insider adds that the family is living in complete isolation at their compound in Arkansas, afraid to even go outside for fear of being photographed by lurking paparazzi. And of course, things are rather awkward at Casa de Duggar these days, as the family is reportedly stunned by Josh’s behavior: “It’s like he’s a completely different person from who they thought he was,” says the source. “They’re still trying to reconcile all that they know is good about Josh, whom they will always love and adore, with what they’ve learned now.” Despite all of this, insiders say Anna Duggar will not even consider divorcing Josh . Josh Duggar: Revealed to Be Ashley Madison Client!

A new scandal appears ready to hit Josh Duggar and his family. According to data released by the hackers of Ashley Madison, Duggar (a married father of four) was a client of this controversial adult website. Last month, hackers announced that they had infiltrated Ashley Madison – an online property that arranges for spouses to cheat on their significant others – and were prepared to unveil the identities of all 37 million users. Then, earlier this week, the hackers went ahead and dropped 9.7 gigabytes worth of stolen user account and payment information on a very curious public. Based on this released information , per Gawker, someone using a credit card belonging to Joshua J. Duggar – with a billing address that matches the home in Fayetteville, Arkansas often shown on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting – paid a total of $986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions. These subscriptions lasted from February of 2013 until May of 2015. Moreover, the person who signed up for them checked off the following categories for his desire extramarital partner: Experimenting with Sex Toys Likes to Give Oral Sex Likes to Receive Oral Sex Bubble Bath for 2 Good With Your Hands This same individual, strongly believed to be Josh Duggar, listed himself as someone who is “disease free,” “a good listener,” in possession of an “average sex drive” and “good personal hygiene,” among other traits. In May, Duggar admitted that he sexually molested five young girls when he was 14 years old. The victims included members of his own family. The fallout from this bombshell has included TLC canceling 19 Kids and Counting , along with Duggar resigning from the Family Research Council, a lobbying group in D.C. that seeks “to champion marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society.” Soon after Duggar’s sexual abuse admission, wife Anna Duggar released a statement that absolved her husband of his sins. She wrote that Josh “humbled himself before God,” that he told her about his mistakes as a teenager and added: “I want to say thank you to those who took time over a decade ago to help Josh in a time of crisis. Your investment changed his life from going down the wrong path to doing what is right.” She made these comments, of course, in reference to an incident that took place long before she met Josh. How will she react now that Josh has seemingly committed adultery (or at least tried very hard to commit adultery)? We may soon find out. Oh, and  Josh and Anna welcomed a baby girl in July.

Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar to Parents: Remove All Worldly and Sensual Content!

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are at it again. And by “it” we mean trying to remain relevant and/or remind us why they were once relevant. Their popularity peaked just as the Josh Duggar molestation scandal broke and torpedoed it – along with their TLC reality show – for good. The parents of 19 tried and failed to rebuild their image, one which was already controversial, yet in a sense pure, in the scandal’s wake. Whether it was their initial cover-up or attempts to re-frame Josh’s molestation as ” inappropriate touching ,” the public had just had enough. That pretext is hard to ignore when reading the couple’s “Note to Fathers” and “Note to Mothers” respectively, on the Duggars’ official site. “Start protecting your family,” Jim Bob writes, “by removing books, magazines, television, or internet that have worldly or sensual content.” “Replace them with good things like wholesome music, biographies of great Christians , good old-fashioned family fun and games.” Words fail us at this point, and we doubt we’re alone there. View Slideshow: Duggar Family Marriage Tips Kids and “sensual content” don’t go together. Everyone knows that. Any parent is also wary, at least to a degree, of the dangers lurking online, and making sure their kids are old enough to handle them. But “protect” them from “worldly” content? And biographies of Christians, as if any other person or historical event would be irrelevant? “Sheltering” and “smothering” do not begin to describe this. Michelle Duggar , meanwhile, talks mostly about laundry, furthering her view that man guides his wife and children in all matters, the end. All in all, this just makes us long for the good ol’ days. Or at least the less terrible ones, when the biggest headlines they made involved the craziest things banned in the Duggar family . The good ol’ days. Seth Meyers Plays "Fortune Cookie or True Detective?" WATCH!

“Better to walk before they make you run.” “A full moon is the best time for ratifying alliances.” “Never do anything out of hunger, not even eating.” Quick: pick out the quote that's an actual line of dialogue from True Detective Season 2 ! Trick question! They're all from TD2 (though it could be argued that the first line is actually stolen from a Rolling Stones song), and if you thought those words sounded ridiculous coming from under Colin Farrell's '70s cop 'stache just wait until you hear Seth Meyers' delivery. Yes, the late night host asked audience members to differentiate between fortune cookie sayings and lines from True Detective last night  – and the task proved exceedingly difficult. Sadly, our favorite gem from last week's episode (“Everything is f–king.”) was left out of the game, but we guess that's to be expected on a network show. Anyway, if you're in need of an easy drinking game to help celebrate this Sunday's finale, we suggest you watch True Detective online , write down your favorite lines and try to stump your friends. Just remember  – sometimes your worst self is your best self. Whatever that means.

Jessa Duggar Sounds Off on Cecil the Lion, Abortion

In the wake of the Josh Duggar sexual abuse scandal , Jessa Duggar defended her older brother in rather bizarre fashion. She admitted that Josh had touched her inappropriately, but she also stated that he was a “sly” molester  who groped his sisters in such a way that they were unaware that they were being abused. While that may be Jessa’s most controversial remark to date, anyone who follows the 22-year-old expectant mother on social media knows that she’s never been one to worry about pissing off her critics. Take Jessa’s latest tweet, for example: The cartoon, of course, is mocking the recent controversy over the killing of Cecil the lion . Clearly, Jessa is suggesting that instead of attacking Walter Palmer, the world should be focused on more important issues, such as reproductive rights. (Like the rest of her family, Jessa is vehemently pro-life and once compared abortion to the Holocaust on Instagram.) We like to keep things light and gossipy around here, so we won’t get into the abortion debate, but we will take issue with Jessa’s argument that concern over the killing of protected animals for sport somehow distracts from more pressing matters. You could easily go to ESPN’s website and comment, “Who cares that the Yankees play the Red Sox tonight?! ISIS is on the move!” but doing so would demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding of human beings’ ability to care about more than one thing at a time. Like, we could say, “Jessa shouldn’t you be spending less time tweeting and more time helping your husband find a real job now that your family’s reality show has been canceled ?” but that would be dumb, because there’s clearly enough time in the day to do both. Seriously, though, we hope Ben’s looking for a legit gig that can support a family, because that baby is on its way, and it doesn’t  like the Duggars will be back on TV any time soon. The rumored relationship between Khloe Kardashian and James Harden is only a few weeks old, but it’s already a source of endless gossip and drama. Last week, we reported that Harden was caught cheating when an Australian model claimed she slept with the Houston Rockets star after he spent a week in Hawaii hooking up with Khloe. Now, Radar Online is reporting that Khloe confronted James about the accusations – and things didn’t go exactly as she’d planned: “After the woman went public claiming she hooked up with James after he started dating Khloe, there was a confrontation,” says one insider. “James denied hooking up with the woman, but Khloe just doesn’t believe him.” The source claims that Khloe had expected James to come clean, but he gave evasive answers to all of her questions. She now reportedly feels that she’s “doomed” to stay single. The insider says Khloe is concerned about how much younger Harden is (he’s 25; she’s 31), but she’s been attempteing to force the relationship against her better instincts, as she feels that it’s a bad time for her to be alone: “Khloe had really wanted to be in a new solid, healthy relationship by the time her divorce was made final,” the source claims. “She just feels very unlucky in love.” Frankly, we think she just needs to relax. Anyone who’s seen Khloe’s cover for the new issue of Complex knows that it won’t be hard for her to find a new dude.

Duggars Are BROKE! Beg Fans for Money!

In the aftermath of the Josh Duggar sex crimes, the Duggars have apparently hit rock bottom.  Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar made millions off of their TLC show 19 Kids and Counting . However, reports claim  Jim Bob and Michelle have a home in foreclosure .  And now that TLC axed their show after Josh admitted to molesting five underaged girls, the shameless Duggars are begging their fans for money. The ultra-Christian clan’s official YouTube channel, Duggar Studios, has a new ad  asking for fans and supporters to contribute funds so the kids can create “fresh quality content” on their site. “Every contribution is helpful, big or small,” the ad says. The family is asking for contributions so the kids can use their cell phone camera to post more videos of themselves playing basketball and going to the dentist. The disgraced family has a history of money grubbing. Jill Duggar and Deryck Dillard asked fans for financial support for their first long-term mission trip.  The request for donations was not well received and drew criticism from the media when they refused to disclose how the money would be spent. It isn’t surprising that the Duggars are begging for money.  Their main source of income was 19 Kids and Counting .  But two months after Josh came forward about his criminal behavior, TLC pulled the plug on the show. That left the family scrounging for a new source of income.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Leave U.S. For Missionary Work: See the Farewell Pic!

Well, that was fast. Jill Duggar, her husband Derick Dillard, and their baby son, Israel David, boarded a plane on Sunday, taking them to their new home abroad. Jill’s younger sister Jessa Duggar posted a sweet photo via Instagram of the threesome heading off for missionary work in parts unknown … “So excited for @jillmdillard & @derickdillard!” Jessa captioned the pic. “They’ve been praying about and working towards this transition.” The parents of baby Israel Dillard are “excited to finally be heading to the mission field! Please continue to pray for them,” Jessa adds. “Be sure to check out their blog at www.dillardfamily (dot) com. ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’ Mark 16:15.” Nice plug there, Jess. The duo announced their intention to travel to an undisclosed location for a lengthy mission trip late last month via their personal blog. As we also reported, Jill and Derick founded their own ministry , or at least filed the necessary documents to make that their occupation. The couple wrote: “It has always been our goal that Jesus Christ might be glorified as we serve others through family ministry, by whatever means that might be.” “We have a deep love and care for all of the world and [a passion for all] nations, as many have even seen in the early stages of our relationship.” “Our hope is that all peoples of the world would come to repentance and put their hope in the Lord, Jesus Christ.” The family of three did not note how long they would be gone, or where, but said it would be “longer than the typical short-term mission trip.” Who knew the photo of Duggar kissing Dillard with their baby boy looking on turned out to be their kiss goodbye … to America at least. Their departure comes after a period of turmoil for the 19 Kids and Counting stars after the Josh Duggar molestation scandal broke. Jill and Jessa both came forward as victims of Josh when he was a teenager; two other sisters and one babysitter were also molested. We wish them the best, wherever they may go, as we relive some of the Dillards’ sweetest moments in the galleries above and below.
