Jill & Jessa Duggar Spinoff Series Prompts TLC Boycott!

Nearly five months after TLC canceled 19 Kids and Counting , the Duggar clan is set to return to TV. Of course, the scandal-plagued Josh won’t be along for the ride this time, as the network is launching a spinoff series about Jill and Jessa Duggar and their lives as newly-married moms. But some former fans believe that even without Josh, the family simply has no place on TV. A Facebook page called “Take the Pledge to Boycott All Discovery Channels” is encouraging users to protest the return of the Duggars by refusing to tune into any properties owned by Discovery Communications, which includes TLC, the Discovery Channel, OWN, and several other networks. “Take the pledge on Dec 13, 20, and 27, 2015,” the group wrote on Facebook yesterday. “Join us in boycotting all Discovery network channels for the one hour they are airing the TLC show ‘Jill & Jessa Counting On’ 8/7 c. This family minimized childhood sexual abuse showing victims they do not matter.” The group believes that by essentially sweeping Josh Duggar’s molestation of five young girls under the carpet, TLC is sending the message that ratings are more important than the trauma endured by young victims of sexual abuse. Currently, Jill and Jessa: Counting On is scheduled for a three-week run in December. However, network insiders say that if the show is successful, TLC will offer the girls a contract for a full season. Social media campaigns have proved devastating to the Duggars in the past, as an online group called “No More Duggars” effectively convinced several sponsors to back away from 19 Kids and Counting .  Since launching just three days ago, “Take the Pledge to Boycott All Discovery Channels” has amassed several hundred followers. Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Explain Why They Attended Marriage Counseling

Earlier this week, we reported that Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have entered marriage counseling .  Along with professional therapists and several other couples, the Duggars embarked on a retreat in Ozark National Forest amidst rumors that the many Duggar scandals of the past year had put a strain on their relationship. In response to those rumors Michelle and Jim Bob posted a statement on their Facebook page and explained to People magazine that their marriage was simply in need of a little fine-tuning. “Beautiful place, beautiful people, beautiful truths!” the Duggars said of the retreat that they claim brought them closer together. They reportedly told People that the retreat was timed so that they would be back in their hometown of Tontitown, Arkansas several weeks before Jessa Duggar’s due date . Jessa is expected to give birth to her first child on November 1, which also happens to be her one-year wedding anniversary. There’s no denying that 2015 has been packed with scandals and public humiliations for the Duggars, but unfortunately they now find themselves in a position where critics and former fans are looking for controversy where none exists. We’re sure Michelle and Jim Bob’s marriage is just fine. And we’re still hoping Anna will leave Josh while he’s in rehab , but that’s neither here nor there! Mike Huckabee on Josh Duggar: The Other 18 Kids Turned Out Fine!

Though Donald Trump receives roughly 9000% of the media coverage, there are still several other candidates still vying for the GOP’s presidential nomination. One of them is former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, and while even the most conservative Republicans seem to have come to terms with the fact that the Huckster wouldn’t stand a chance in a general election, he’s hanging in there like a…. Well, homespun analogies about stubborn tenacity are more his department.  Anyway, when Huckabee’s not mocking transgender people , he’s hitching his wagon to big, bright conservative stars in hopes that he can feast on some of the popularity crumbs they leave behind. Last month, Huckabee and Kim Davis were BFFs. Prior to that, Huckabee was one of the first politicians to sing the praises the Duggars as pristine models of integrity and family values. Obviously, this was long before the world learned that Josh Duggar molested his sisters and cheated on his wife with several prostitutes. Whoops. Other politicos such as Rick Santorum and Ted Cruz had the sense to distance themselves from the Duggar clan, but in another display of willful persistence (A hound dog with a ham bone? We got nothing…) Huckabee is sticking right by the 19 Kids and Counting clan. Well, most of the 19 Kids and Counting clan: “I’m not going to defend anything of Josh. Nothing to defend,” Huckabee said in a recent interview. “But I don’t think you can disparage the entire family because one of the members did some pretty bad things. “Out of 19 kids, as far as we know, 18 turned out pretty darn well. That’s a pretty good percentage.” Of course, six of the kids aren’t even in their teens yet, so it might it be a bit early to assess how they “turned out,” but with his willingness to declare victory about a decade or so prematurely, Huckabee is proving that he may have the makings of a Republican president after all. He might as well put on a flight-suit and stand in front of the ” Duggar compound ” in Arkansas with a “Mission Accomplished” banner behind him. Josh Duggar Enters Rehab, Gets SLAMMED By Parents

In a surprise move, Josh Duggar has entered rehab today as a result of his recent sexual misconduct. TMZ is reporting that Duggar is seeking treatment at an undisclosed location for issues remain unspecified, but are clearly tied to his recent scandals. Generally, matters such as Josh’s indiscretions are dealt with “in house,” or within the Duggars’ spiritual community. When Josh received counseling from church elders after he molested five young girls in the early 2000s, this was infamously the case. The fact that Josh is seeking a more conventional form of treatment is an indication of just how seriously his family is taking this latest scandal. After admitting to cheating on his wife and suffering from an addiction to pornography, one can see why any parents would be concerned. Josh’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, have issued an uncharacteristically critical statement to the press regarding teh decision: “His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others.” “He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear.” The Duggars have revealed that Josh’s wife, Anna Duggar, is also seeking treatment “for her heart and future.” Michelle and Jim Bob add that they are praying Josh will prove capable of “sincere change.” Is Anna finally fed up? Josh Duggar Admits to Cheating on Wife, Porn Addiction, Being Total Hypocrite

Yesterday, the world learned that Josh Duggar used Ashley Madison , the hacked adultery website, to help him cheat on his wife, Anna Duggar. It was the latest in a long line of scandalous revelations for Duggar, coming on the heels of news that he had molested four of his sisters . That was in 2002 and 2003, though. Horrific as it was, a long time has passed since then. These current revelations, however, are recent. In addition to Ashley Madison, it appears that 27-year-old father of four Josh was on OK Cupid trolling for chicks behind Anna’s back. Josh has issued a statement in which he basically admits as much, confessing his history of infidelity … and addiction to pornography. “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever,” the former lobbyist admits. “While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet.” “This became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.” “I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family.” “And, most of all, Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him. “I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old.” “Now I have re-broken their trust.” “The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.” “I humbly ask for your forgiveness,” he concludes. “Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.” Wow. Just wow. Not a bad statement considering the situation, but still, nothing short of astonishing that it came to this. Anna Duggar has yet to speak on the matter, and given the strict nature of the Duggars’ religious beliefs, it is unlikely that she will file for divorce. First time for everything, though? In any case, earlier today, an insider at TLC revealed that Josh’s list of indiscretions has likely brought the Duggars’ television careers to an end . Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald: Guess Our Baby’s Gender!

Pregnant 19 Kids & Counting star Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald are really, really excited for fans to guess their baby’s gender. Are they having a boy or a girl?! Jessa Duggar, Ben Seewald Baby Gender Contest Did you actually think they would tell you in this video? You weren’t alone, but instead, this looks like another 30-second attempt to stay relevant. No, this is not an actual announcement of the gender, just a reminder that Jessa is growing a baby inside her and they are aware of the gender. Lame, yes. But hey, at least people can vote on what you think the gender of #BabySeewald could be. If you’re right, you get absolutely nothing. Bottom line, the Duggars are clinging to whatever attention they can get, even if the Josh Duggar molestation scandal forever tarnished their brand. They’ll probably never be on TV again – save for the TLC sexual abuse special they hope will rebuild their image – but there is always the Internet. Not that they’re pro-Internet most of the time. Anything that serves as a breeding ground for sensual and worldly content is a big no-no in Duggarland. It’s a fine line, and paradoxical, since the world wide web helped them gain so many fans over the years, while also aiding in their recent downfall. One thing we can all agree on though? Jessa Duggar Sounds Off on Cecil the Lion, Abortion

In the wake of the Josh Duggar sexual abuse scandal , Jessa Duggar defended her older brother in rather bizarre fashion. She admitted that Josh had touched her inappropriately, but she also stated that he was a “sly” molester  who groped his sisters in such a way that they were unaware that they were being abused. While that may be Jessa’s most controversial remark to date, anyone who follows the 22-year-old expectant mother on social media knows that she’s never been one to worry about pissing off her critics. Take Jessa’s latest tweet, for example: The cartoon, of course, is mocking the recent controversy over the killing of Cecil the lion . Clearly, Jessa is suggesting that instead of attacking Walter Palmer, the world should be focused on more important issues, such as reproductive rights. (Like the rest of her family, Jessa is vehemently pro-life and once compared abortion to the Holocaust on Instagram.) We like to keep things light and gossipy around here, so we won’t get into the abortion debate, but we will take issue with Jessa’s argument that concern over the killing of protected animals for sport somehow distracts from more pressing matters. You could easily go to ESPN’s website and comment, “Who cares that the Yankees play the Red Sox tonight?! ISIS is on the move!” but doing so would demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding of human beings’ ability to care about more than one thing at a time. Like, we could say, “Jessa shouldn’t you be spending less time tweeting and more time helping your husband find a real job now that your family’s reality show has been canceled ?” but that would be dumb, because there’s clearly enough time in the day to do both. Seriously, though, we hope Ben’s looking for a legit gig that can support a family, because that baby is on its way, and it doesn’t  like the Duggars will be back on TV any time soon. 19 Kids and Counting: FCC Complaints of "Dangerous" Duggars May Doom Series

The Duggar family faces steeper obstacles than the PR nightmare that has become their life if they hope to ever return to the airwaves on TLC. New Federal Communications Commission (FCC) documents contain complaints that could well bring the axe down on 19 Kids and Counting. The complaint filed details the Duggars’ “dangerous” views portrayed on the hit show and asks for the show to be pulled from the air forever. Certainly, it’s a view shared by a growing chorus of critics. According to the document, 19 Kids and Counting “[pollutes] the national television airwaves with a family that protected a pedophile son.” “Because they claim to be Christian,” the complaint against child molester Josh Duggar and company says, “it seems to allow them a pass.” The Duggars, these critics allege, “espouse a dangerous worldview regarding women, that includes incest as acceptable behavior.” Somehow we’re guessing they’re not talking about forcing women to wear garments like this Jessa Duggar swimsuit photo reveals, either. The FCC issued a reply, explaining that the organization can act only “relating to particular programming, rather than a general opinion.” Should complaints continue, however, or get more specific, the FCC – and/or TLC – may be all but formed to pull the plug on the Duggars. If there’s any advertiser even willing to associate with them. Commercial sponsors have already dropped 19 Kids and Counting left and right due to the Josh Duggar scandal, so it may be a moot point. The show was shelved indefinitely by TLC, and you can’t watch 19 Kids and Counting online either, but it hasn’t been canceled … officially. At this point, it’s hard to see it ever returning, though the fact that it’s still in limbo tells you that the network isn’t taking the decision lightly. Duggar Family Prays For Nation’s "Wicked Ways" in Wake of Gay Marriage Ruling

As you’ve probably heard, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of nationwide gay marriage yesterday in a landmark decision that’s being celebrated in all 50 states. Countless celebrities have spoken out in favor of the SCOTUS decision , and president Obama hailed the ruling as a ” victory for America .” But not all public figures are pleased with yesterday’s developments. Just moments after the decision was announced, members of the famously conservative Duggar family made their feelings known with a Bible quote posted on their official Facebook page: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,” the message reads. “Then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” While the family has not addressed the court’s ruling directly, the timing and content of the above message leaves little doubt that this is the Duggars’ way of admonishing the justices who voted in favor of gay marriage and chastising the nation for its “wicked” ways. Many of the commenters on the Duggars’ post expressed support for the family and its views, while others accused the 19 Kids and Counting clan of hypocrisy for commenting on the sexual preferences so soon after news of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal  went public.
