Lil Wayne’s Verse On Drake’s – Light Up – From Jail? Watch Now!

Weezy and Mack Maine come up with the idea during a phone call, in new footage from DJ Scoob Doo. By Jayson Rodriguez Scoob Doo, Baby and Mack Maine Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne unleashed a lyrical tirade on Drake’s “Light Up,” with the incarcerated rapper contributing a remix verse to the Jay-Z-featured track from behind bars. But how exactly did the collaboration come about? According to footage provided to MTV News by DJ Scoob Doo, Young Money cohort Mack Maine challenged his boss to drop some rhymes to the Tone Mason and Noah “40” Shebib banger. The scene will be featured on Scoob Doo’s forthcoming DVD project featuring Lil Wayne, “The Nino Brown Story, Pt. 3.” “You was supposed to have that third [verse],” Mack tells Wayne after the rapper called him. “Write something to that.” Wayne and Mack were talking about Jay-Z’s opening lines to the second verse, which Weezy admired. “Yeah, man, ain’t nobody talking about what your boy talking about,” he said of Jay. “That n—a is stupid [with his rhymes]. I said, ‘Oooh, look at that.’ ” Mack and Wayne go back and forth, bantering about what the Cash Money Records superstar would sound like on the song. Then, Wayne finally responds. “Come up with a [verse]? Don’t play with me, man,” Weezy tells Mack over the phone. “Just drop that beat to a breakdown to where you can really hear what I’m saying. I’ll write 100 bars to that. Don’t play with me. Let me know when it’s set up, and I’ll do it. “It’s over,” he adds. “I got it already.” The two then coordinate a time for Wayne to call an engineer to help clean up the rapper’s vocals, which were slightly distorted, since he had to rap over the phone. The result was classic Wayne, chock-full of punch lines and illuminating lyrics. “I’m feeling like Elvis, ‘Jailhouse Rock,’ ” Wayne raps via telephone. “I’m not Tupac, I’m the new ‘Pac/ Behind bars, but the bars don’t stop/ Recording over the phone, I hope the call don’t drop/ Drizzy got the ball, I know the ball won’t drop/ And I pray none of my kids ever wanna be Pop.” As of press time, it’s unknown if the “Light Up” remix will be included on the official Thank Me Later release or possibly a later deluxe version. Paul Rudd Joined By Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel In ‘My Idiot Brother’

Rashida Jones and Emily Mortimer also join cast of comedy about a mama’s boy and his sisters. By Adam Rosenberg Paul Rudd Photo: Getty Images One of Paul Rudd ‘s next roles may be an “Idiot Brother,” but he sure has some beautiful sisters. Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer and Rashida Jones will join the actor in the upcoming comedy “My Idiot Brother,” about a grown mama’s boy (Rudd) who visits each of his three successful sisters, bringing with him happiness and disaster in equal measures. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Banks, Deschanel and Mortimer will play the three sisters. Banks is a single, career-minded journalist who is about to make it big; Deschanel is a bisexual woman who is having a hard time committing to her lovely girlfriend (Jones); and Mortimer is a Brooklyn mother who cares more about maintaining the illusion of a happy family than actually being happy. “My Idiot Brother” will be directed by Jesse Peretz with a script written by Evgenia Peretz and David Schisgall. Jesse Peretz is probably known best for directing the Zach Braff/ Amanda Peet 2006 relationship comedy “The Ex.” He also directed Rudd in 2001’s “The Chateau.” Banks recently completed a multi-episode run on “30 Rock” that she will likely reprise next season. Deschanel, who is touring on She & Him’s new album, will next be seen in the 2011 David Gordon Green-directed Middle Ages stoner comedy “Your Highness.” Mortimer was most recently seen in Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island,” which hit DVD/Blu-ray this week. And Jones, who stars in NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” also has a starring role in the upcoming David Fincher-directed Facebook pic, “The Social Network.” Rudd’s upcoming movie with Steve Carell, “Dinner for Schmucks,” is out on July 23. “My Idiot Brother” is currently targeted for a 2011 release. The Lost DVD Epilogue Will Answer All Your Walt and Food-Drop Questions

Still scratching your head over Lost despite our attempt to tie up almost 100 of the show’s loose ends ? You’re in luck, as the previously announced DVD epilogue is going to have a lot more to it then just showing what happened on the island after Hurley and Ben were in charge. In fact, it sounds like this extra bit of bonus content is actually a subtle mea culpa for executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse and a way to provide some of the answers that the actual show never gave.

Van Sant Actually Wanted to Direct Breaking Dawn

Back when Summit was pursuing directors like Gus Van Sant and Sofia Coppola to direct the final Twilight installment, Breaking Dawn , I figured they were simply shooting for the moon. In the new issue of New York , however, the always candid Bret Easton Ellis reveals that Van Sant went after the job himself. “You can make a lot of money doing that,” Ellis whispered. Let’s hope that Bill Condon gives the shirtless werewolves some skateboards to use as a tribute to his fallen comrade. [ New York ]

Betty White On Scarlett Johansson/ Sandra Bullock Kiss: ‘To Each His Own!’

‘Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!’ her ‘Proposal’ co-star says backstage at MTV Movie Awards. By Jocelyn Vena Betty White leaving the Gibson at the 2010 Movie Awards Photo: MTV News While it was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s kiss that had Twilighters salivating on Sunday (June 6), another MTV Movie Awards kiss ended up stealing the show. When MTV Generation Award honoree Sandra Bullock hit the stage to accept her award, she and presenter Scarlett Johansson — on hand as a proxy of sorts for her hubby and Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Ryan Reynolds — decided to kiss, surprising everyone with a reenactment of Bullock’s lip-lock with Meryl Streep at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards earlier this year. So, was Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Betty White , who was also onstage to pay tribute, jealous that she wasn’t the one locking lips? “No! To each his own!” White told MTV News, when we caught up with her backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. “Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!” Betty showed off her great comic timing during her homage to the actress. “You are grace defined and I adore you madly,” the “Golden Girls” star said of working together in the 2009 romantic comedy. “Our sex scenes were cut for theatrical release,” White lamented, “but don’t worry, everyone can see them on the unrated DVD. Sandy, you are a national treasure, which I know a thing or two about since my ovaries were recently named historical monuments.” Then, despite professing to be a huge fan of Bullock’s works, the legendary comedian went on to prove she actually knew very little about the actress’ oeuvre, describing Bullock’s Oscar-winning turn in “The Blind Side” as her “daring and race-bending portrayal of Stevie Wonder.” White and Johansson were also joined onstage by Bullock’s “All About Steve” co-star Bradley Cooper. “You’re a once-in-a-generation talent,” Cooper said. “You inspire me with the ability to shine through any darkness, and congratulations on this award.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com. Porn Actor Accused of Murder Dies After Cliff-Top Standoff in L.A.

LOS ANGELES, USA — A porn actor wanted for allegedly murdering a co-worker with a samurai-style sword died after jumping from a cliff edge following a standoff with Los Angeles police, police said. Stephen Hill plunged around 50 feet off a sheer rock face after being stunned with a Taser by Los Angeles Police Department officers who had been negotiating with him for several hours. Television footage of the incident showed Hill scrambling off the edge of the cliff feet first as police moved in after stunning him. “He jumped down off the cliff after he was Tased,” LAPD spokesman Bruce Borihanh said. Whether Hill died from being Tasered, the fall or possibly landing on the sword he was armed with was under investigation, Borihanh said. Hill was wanted for one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder after attacking colleagues at a pornographic film distribution company warehouse in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Saturday's dramatic denouement began when police received a tip-off that Hill had been spotted at a property in the San Fernando Valley. Hill was discovered at the property and was subsequentely cornered by officers at the edge of a steep cliff near the house, where he had threatened to kill himself, police said. Local media initially reported that Hill was in police custody and being treated by paramedics. Television footage had earlier showed the actor holding a samurai sword and shouting at police to keep their distance. Hill, who has appeared in several porn films under the stage name “Steve Driver,” is alleged to have murdered fellow actor Herbert Wong at the warehouse-style offices of Ultima DVD on Tuesday. Wong, who had appeared in two films with Hill under the name “Tom Dong,” died as he tried to help other staff to escape, the company's owner said. Hill's rampage appeared to have been triggered by the discovery that he was about to be fired and evicted from the office where he had been living, according to local media reports. from (APF) added by: CarlosBobthe3rd

‘New Moon’ Vs. ‘Avatar’: Nikki Reed, Ke$ha, Akon Debate MTV Movie Awards Battle

‘Is it a teenage thing or is it revolutionizing-filmmaking thing?’ Tyrese Gibson asks of the face-off. By Eric Ditzian Photo: 20th Century Fox One year ago, the MTV Movie Awards featured a face-off between vampires and orphans , as “Twilight” was up for seven awards and “Slumdog Millionaire” was tapped in six categories. The battle turned into a blowout, as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s flick nabbed five wins, and “Slumdog” was completely shut out. 2010 at the Movie Awards brings us another epic throw-down – this time between the vampires of “New Moon” and the big blue aliens of “Avatar.” Both films are nominated in five categories, including Best Movie, Best Kiss and Best Female Performance. Which one of these blockbuster titans will triumph this Sunday at the awards show? That’s up to you, because fan voting is currently under way at MovieAwards.MTV.com . But fans aren’t the only ones who have a say in the competition. That’s why we asked some of our favorite celebs who they would vote for when it comes to this heated debate: Team “Twilight” or Team “Avatar”? “That’s not a fair question,” said “Twilight” franchise star Nikki Reed. “I think I have to stick with my movie on this one, although ‘Avatar,’ there are no words.” The likes of Kim Kardashian, Marisa Miller and Stephanie Pratt sided with Reed’s choice of “New Moon.” But for every Twilighter we spoke with, there was an “Avatar” fan ready to vote the other way, like Eli Roth and Adam Lambert. Or take Akon, who said simply, “I love ‘Avatar.’ That movie is amazing.” And then there are the folks who haven’t yet hit the cinema or popped in the DVD so they can make an informed choice in the “New Moon” vs. “Avatar” debate. “I can’t vote, only because I’m narcoleptic and I never made it through either one,” confessed Ke$ha. Count Kristin Cavallari among the non-voters as well. “I haven’t seen any of the ‘Twilight’ movies or ‘Avatar,’ ” she said. “I’m so out of the loop with everything!” So which flick is going to conquer on Sunday night? Stay tuned. For now, we’ll give Tyrese Gibson the final word. “Is it a teenage thing or is it revolutionizing-filmmaking thing?” he said. “And if it’s revolutionizing, then James Cameron’s definitely going to take it.” Don’t miss the live red-carpet coverage, exclusive movie clips and fist-pumping action on MTV News’ “Jersey Shore Blow-Out at the MTV Movie Awards,” airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday, June 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
