‘X Factor’: Rachel Crow Breaks Down After Elimination

While Marcus Canty landed in the bottom two for the third straight week, it was the 13-year-old songbird who got the lowest number of votes. By Adam Graham Rachel Crow hears the news of her elimination on “X Factor” Photo: FOX Another week, another dramatic finish to “The X Factor,” as 13-year-old Rachel Crow was voted off the Fox singing competition Thursday (December 8) when judge Nicole Scherzinger purposely threw the vote to a tie and left the final decision in the hands of America’s votes. That placed Crow against Marcus Canty, who landed in the bottom two for the third week in a row. When host Steve Jones read the final tally, Crow — who moments earlier said she’d be fine with whatever decision was made — fell to the ground as if someone had punched her in the gut, sobbing loud and hard on the “X Factor” stage. Crow was picked up off the ground by her mentor, Simon Cowell, and consoled by her mother. “Mommy!” Crow wept, while cameras cut to a shocked Scherzinger, who looked like she couldn’t believe what she’d just done. When she could finally speak, Crow told host Jones, “I just, I love you so much, everybody, for voting for me, even though you didn’t. … Thank you for giving me this, because without you, I’m nothing. And I hope this is not my ending. You know what? I know it’s not. And I will go so far, I promise you. And I love you.” She went on to thank her family for their support. Said Cowell after the decision: “I want to thank everyone that’s voted for this young girl. I believe she went out on the highest she could have gone out on. Like I said, from the very first time I met you, we’re going to be hearing a lot more about Rachel Crow, I give you my word on that.” Jones approached Scherzinger and asked if she had anything to say, and the ex-Pussycat Doll, who was heavily booed by the audience, turned away without comment. Earlier in the evening, both Crow and Canty were forced to sing for their lives in the competition. Canty took on “I’m Going Down,” while Crow tackled “I’d Rather Go Blind.” Following the performances, L.A. Reid praised Crow for her “amazing” rendition but voted for Canty to stay, while Cowell and Paula Abdul cast their votes in favor of Crow. That left the deciding vote to Scherzinger, who through tears said she couldn’t make the decision herself, so she voted for Canty to stay so the tiebreaker would lie in the hands of viewer votes. The night prior, Crow sang B.o.B and Bruno Mars’ “Nothin’ on You” and Michael Jackson’s “Music & Me,” prompting Abdul to call her “beautifully fearless,” “a wonderful role model,” “every girl’s best friend and every parent’s daydream,” “fantastic and magical” and with a “vocal depth [that] transcends all generations.” Canty, meanwhile, sang Chaka Kahn’s “Ain’t Nobody” and Leon Russell’s “A Song for You,” the latter of which was dubbed “a bit boring” by Cowell. But L.A. Reid compared Canty to Muhammad Ali, praising his ability to get up after being repeatedly knocked down. “I’ve got your back,” Reid told him, and he kept his word on Thursday. Earlier in the evening, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro and Chris Rene advanced to next week’s semifinal. When Canty learned he would have to once again sing for his life, he remarked, “Bottom two, again? Gosh, man. But, top five, man, I just gotta go out and deliver.” The episode also featured live performances by Lenny Kravitz and Mary J. Blige. What did you think of the results? Let us know in the comments!

Dancing With the Stars Results: Who Made the Finals?

After perfect and near-perfect performances saw Ricki Lake take back the lead on Dancing With the Stars , the question was who would join her in the finals. With Ricki a virtual lock (her scores far outpaced two competitors, she’s solid every week, and she has Derek Hough as a partner), it came down to this trio. Surprisingly, Rob Kardashian was the one breathing down Ricki’s next Monday, with J.R. Martinez a distant third, followed by Hope Solo in last place. Was last night the end of the line for Rob, Hope, or J.R.? Hope has continued to improve, but would it be fast enough for fans given that Rob has also surged in popularity and skill, and J.R. remains one of the favorites? The program has seen many worthy dancers set home prematurely, even this season. You just never know. So which one of these contenders got the heave-ho? Follow the jump to see who survived the Dancing With the Stars semifinals … Hope Solo , despite a long and successful run, was eliminated last night. Very few who follow the show are likely to be surprised at that outcome. Interestingly, Hope was so torn up about her elimination that she was unable to even give interviews about departure, but we’ll miss her and wish her the best. Fond memories of Hope and Maks’ DWTS performances past . “I love them,” Ricki Lake said of Hope and her partner Maksim Chermovskiy. “They’re both great people. I think she did great. She came so far and I now like soccer. I never knew anything about it, but now I’m rooting for my goalie Hope Solo!” She’s certainly not alone in that department. “I never would have imagined this when I signed up for this, never in a million years,” Rob Kardashian admitted upon making the finals. “I really just gotta bring it more than ever and that mirror ball trophy is right at the end of my fingertips.” As for J.R.’s injury: “The ankle feels a lot better, does,” he said. “I got some time to rest. I got an X-ray done this morning. The doctor said it’s negative. Now, it’s about being strategic: making sure I take care of, wrap it properly and continue to dance!” Well? Who will win Dancing With the Stars?

‘X Factor’ Says Goodbye To Stereo Hogzz

For the second straight week, Paula Abdul’s groups end up in the bottom two, with Lakoda Rayne joining the Hogzz. By Adam Graham Stereo Hogzz on “X Factor” Photo: FOX Paula Abdul’s groups just can’t catch a break. On Thursday’s (November 10) results episode of “The X Factor,” Abdul’s two remaining groups in the competition — Stereo Hogzz and Lakoda Rayne — ended up as the bottom two vote-getters following Wednesday’s performance episode. Both groups were forced to sing for their lives in front of the panel of judges, and after a dramatic 3-1 vote — where an emotional Abdul nearly gave up her right to vote — Stereo Hogzz were shown the door. It was the second week in a row that two of Abdul’s groups occupied the bottom two and faced elimination. Ms. “Forever Your Girl” originally refused to participate in the final vote, pleading, “I’m not gonna do this. I’m too close to both acts, and I love them both,” causing a frustrated Cowell to none-too-subtly rub his eye with his middle finger. Eventually, Abdul cast her vote for Lakoda Rayne to go, leaving the final vote in the hands of Cowell, who sent the Hogzz packing. The Houston fivesome took their elimination in stride, saying they were blessed for the chance to be on the show. Abdul returned the compliment: “I’m blessed to have worked with such amazing talent,” she said. “These guys are the real deal and gentlemen to work with.” For their final save performance, Stereo Hogzz — who were also in the bottom two last week — sang Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone,” while Lakoda Rayne turned in a slightly twangy version of the Chris Brown/ Jordin Sparks duet “No Air.” The night prior, Rayne earned high marks for their version of Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You,” while Simon Cowell criticized the Hogzz following their gender-flipped version of Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man” for being too “cabaret” and for not doing the sort of song they would make in the studio. Earlier in the show, host Steve Jones asked Abdul what it was like to again have two of her groups staring down death’s door. “It is a nightmare situation. I can’t say any other words,” Abdul said. But in typical sunshiny fashion, she had words of encouragement for her students: “They’re magical, and they’re going to go on to sell records no matter what.” The upside for Abdul? Since she only has one group left, next week she can’t be the only judge with contestants in the bottom two. The episode also saw performances from Willow Smith , who debuted her new single “Fireball,” and Jessie J , who showcased her latest single “Domino.” At the top of the show, the top 11 contestants performed Swedish House Mafia’s “Save the World (Tonight).” What did you think of Thursday’s “X Factor” results episode? Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed Elimination

Paul McDonald, 26, is also pumped because, he says, he really wanted to play the piano and show off his other talents. “I have this other side that I didn#39;t even start to show,” he says. “I play keys. It#39;s hard to do in a minute and a half of a cover song so I#39;m looking forward to doing my own thing and getting creative again.” Fans of Paul McDonald may be upset that the singer was booted off American Idol on Thursday#39;s elimination but actress Nikki Reed – whom he says he is “offic

Poor Thang: Wendy Williams And Her Jacked Up Hooves Get Sent Home From Dancing With The Stars

Between doing some serious damage to her feet and having to travel back and forth from NYC to LA almost daily for practice, Wendy Williams clearly sacrificed plenty for Dancing With The Stars. That didn’t make her a winner though: Wendy became the second contestant to be sent home from this season. Which didn’t really seem to surprise her too much. “Despite the stereotypes, this is one black girl who can’t even do the running man,” Wendy said during her post elimination interview. She’s not too upset about the elimination either. “[I’m] relieved,” Williams added. “I’m getting on a jet plane and going back to everything that’s near and dear to me that I’ve neglected personally for this six-week journey. I have a 10-year-old son and any parent knows that 5th grade and being 10 is a child on the brink! I have a 12-year marriage and a talk show that demands my attention, too.” So now there are two and a half Black people left on the show: Sugar Ray Leonard, Not-So-Little Romeo and Hines Ward. Do you think one of them can take it home?
