Lindsay Lohan on Visiting Dad in Rehab: NAH!

This past Sunday was “family day” in VH1’s Celebrity Rehab. Astonishingly, Michael Lohan’s stood him up in that piece. The drama began when MiLo “wanted Lindsay, Ali, and the rest of the family to come for family day,” says a source . “Michael even wanted Dina to come.” “They all refused, they don’t want to appear on camera in that setting, period.” “Michael grew very upset. Emotions were very raw for him. Soon, thereafter, all hell broke out between other patients and families,” the insider said. Viewers will be in for “quite a shock when it airs,” the source says. Dr. Drew “handled the mayhem with pure professionalism, as he always does,” despite all he has on his plate (the Michaele Salahi debacle , etc). Celebrity Rehab 5 is set to premiere in May on VH1. As for what brought MiLo to the show? Anger issues. Yes, he’s addicted to rage. And fame. [Photos: Fame Pictures]

Bisphenol A Is In Your Tomato Sauce TreeHugger was one of the earliest sites to raise concern about endocrine disrupting chemicals like Bisphenol A; we were loud in our support for the removal of polycarbonate bottles (an easy target as there are lots of alternatives) and for the elimination of BPA epoxies from tin cans . Treehugger was the first to note that BPA is used in the lids of home canning products , and recently covered the issue of

By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ WireImage While there has been speculation that Demi Lovato ‘s split from Joe Jonas may have been one of the reasons she left their tour to seek treatment, in a new interview, the Jonas brother insists that life on the road with his ex had been drama-free. “With Demi, it’s been friendly,” he told InStyle, in an interview that took place before Lovato decided to seek treatment for her physical and emotional issues. “There hasn’t been any drama.” On Wednesday, Lovato’s rep confirmed to MTV News that she would stay in treatment next week, contrary to reports that she would be out by Thanksgiving. In the issue, Jonas opens up about his love life, noting that he looks for a “great girl” in a potential love interest. “I’ve been able to meet some really nice girls and some not-so-nice girls,” he said about his famous love life. “I always try to be cool and still be friends, but sometimes it’s better not to.” Jonas, who is now romantically linked to “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene , said he’s willing to use his relationships as potential musical inspiration, just like another ex, Taylor Swift . “People say, ‘Are you mad that somebody writes a song about you?’ and I say, ‘No, that means I have the freedom to write a song about her,’ ” he explained of Swift. Joe also dished a bit about what fans might hear on his solo album . “I began writing with a Michael

Brandy Was ‘Very Sad’ About ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Elimination

‘I think Bristol did a great job,’ the singer says after controversial ‘DWTS’ results. By Jocelyn Vena Brandy appears on “The View” on Thursday Photo: ABC Many fans were shocked when Brandy was voted off “Dancing With the Stars” on Wednesday. Her elimination left Kyle Massey, Bristol Palin and Jennifer Grey in the top three as the show prepares to crown a winner next week. Asked how she felt about being eliminated, the singer took the high road but expressed some sadness. “Well, I think Bristol did a great job. She has improved [and] one of the great things about ‘Dancing With the Stars’ is the fans can get behind you and vote,” she said when she stopped by “The View” on Thursday (November 18). “I was sad. I was very sad because we worked so hard and when you come into competition you want to go as far as you can.” Brandy’s partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, didn’t get too heated about the elimination said he doesn’t believe Palin is a better dancer than Brandy. “I’m not ticked off,” Chmerkovskiy said. “I’m not ticked off because I feel everyone has the right to be on,” he added. “We had a lot of controversial eliminations this season. I feel like we should stay true to who we are now.” So does Maksim think he and Brandy were robbed? “Well, then a lot of people were robbed [over the years],” he said. Although Brandy isn’t taking home the mirror ball trophy, she said she has managed to win something else. “It’s completely changed my life,” she explained. “I feel like I’ve tapped back into my confidence and my power. This show has brought the best out in me [and] thanks to Maks.” She also had some predictions going into the final week of “DWTS.” “I don’t know who’s going to win but I know who I want to win … Kyle Massey,” she said. Partner Maks agreed saying, “I think Kyle is the best candidate.” What did you think of Brandy being voted off “DWTS”? Tell us in the comments! Dancing with the Stars Elimination: How Am I Supposed to Jive Without You?

Dancing with the Stars sent another amateur trotter to the glue factory last night, and girls, it was not sad. The losing dancer was downright surly for how inevitable his/her elimination was, and we caught it all on tape. Or rather, the Internet did. (It’s faster than I am.)

USC-Hawaii Still On For College Football’s Opening Weekend

Among the weirder penalties levied in USC’s general direction by the Committee On Infractions was the elimination of their 13th regular-season game, which was actually the season opener at Hawaii. Some background on why this is possible in the first place: The Sept. 2 game at Aloha Stadium was in doubt because sanctions levied against USC last week prevented exemptions from the current 12-game NCAA limit. A 1955 bylaw known as the “Hawaii Exemption” permits visiting teams to play one game more than the NCAA maximum if traveling to Hawaii. The rule was established to allow teams to schedule an extra home game to recoup lost revenue from traveling outside the continental 48. It’s Hawaii, however, that would have really suffered the hit to the wallet here with the loss of a home contest, and the NCAA has agreed to push the docking of a 13th game back a year : “We want to thank the committee for granting this relief,” said Todd Dickey, USC’s senior vice president for administration. “It recognizes the serious financial impacts game cancellation would have had to the university and state of Hawaii, as well as the fans and supporters of USC who have already made travel arrangements.” Yes, won’t someone think of the fans with the means to jet off to the islands to watch their team administer a bloodbath? Or of the certain four-letter sports network that stood to lose the nightcap of its opening-day coverage bonanza? The reality is the estimated million-dollar payday is one Hawaii’s cash-strapped athletic department could ill afford to lose. Coincidentally, “a million” is also the number of offensive yards the Trojans are expected to record in Honolulu. (Thank you!)

American Idol Eliminates Casey James, Sets Up Lee/Crystal Showdown

American Idol viewers made the right, obvious choice last night, sending Casey James home. The long-haired singer has come a long way since being depicted as nothing but eye candy for Kara DioGuardi, but he was clearly the worst performer on Tuesday and reacted to his elimination with humility. “I can’t believe it, man,” he said after Ryan Seacrest delivered the bad news. “I’m so thankful for the opportunity. It’s been an amazing journey and I’m just so honored that I’m here.” We’re now left with Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox, not the most exciting final pairing, but one that should keep fans guessing about who will win next week. Bowersox has been considered the favorite for months, but Lee has come on on strong recently, earning as much praise as any contestant all season for his rendition of “Hallelujah” on Tuesday night. We’ll publish a more detailed finale preview in the coming days, but sound off now: Who do you want to win? As usual, the results show also featured a pair of professional performances, which may explain why your ears are ringing this morning. The screams emanating in the arena from Justin Bieber fans can still be heard in many homes. Also, new artist Travis Garland took to the stage. What did you think of his national debut? Check out photos of Garland, Bieber and the Idols below:
