Reports TMZ : The Houston rapper’s lawyer, Charles Adams , tells TMZ … Bun and his wife, Queenie , met with the District Attorney this week to discuss the incident, and they have been reassured they are being treated as victims in the case. We’re told everything they’ve reported lines up with law enforcement’s investigation, and the suspect, Demonte Jackson , is facing 3 first-degree felonies — 2 counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count of burglary. Adams tells us Bun B wasn’t specifically targeted by the intruder — he was going house to house in the neighborhood and Bun’s wife happened to answer the door. Besides licking off shots as the man stole his wife’s Audi, Bun chased him down to take his mask off. … Queenie offered up her Audi in the garage to the suspect, which is where Bun confronted him and a gunfight ensued. Adams says after the man escaped and left his gun behind … Bun hopped in his car and pursued him. We’re told the rapper caught up and held the guy at gunpoint … then made him take off his mask so he could identify him. The suspect then escaped again. Is there any doubt that Bun B is a Triple O? The group’s frontman, and Dame Dash ‘s Harlem brother, Cam’ron was not one to back down from the then untouchable, glorified Hov. The battle of the egos caused some real drama for both Jay, Cam and the label as a whole. Jim Jones also was also a huge part of the Jigga vs. Dipset era. The beef between Cam and Jay started way before their days at Roc-A-Fella, but most notably, it kicked off in 2000, shortly after Hov stabbed Cam’s label head Lance “Un” Rivera. That same year, Cam’ron released his second LP S.D.E. which featured a cameo from Destiny’s Child on the song “Do It Again.” It also featured the song “Let Me Know,” which included numerous subliminal shots at Hov: “You rap about money, man, who are you anyway?” “When the f— we start bouncin’?”. Fast forward to 2002, Cam signs to the Roc and even does a song with Jay, “Welcome To New York City,” — but then ish hit the fan. While Jay-Z was away on vacation, Jim Jones announces that Cam’ron has been made a Vice President at Roc-A-Fella. Needless to say, Hov wasn’t too thrilled with the direction the label was headed in. Fast forward again to 2004, Jay-Z, Dame and Biggs sell their 50% interest in Roc-A-Fella to Def Jam and is made President of Def Jam. However, Cam, Jim and the rest of Dipset stayed loyal to Dame. For several year following the split, Dipset released several tracks dissing Jay-Z, with Cam even alleging that Hov blocked him from taking the VP job at Roc-A-Fella. He also claims that a gunman who shot him in Washington, DC one year earlier in a botched carjacking threw up the ROC’s diamond hand signal. Hov finally clapped back in 2006 with his track “Dig A Hole,” rapping: “N—-s are like why don’t you get at old boy/Why kill the puppet it leaves Gapeto alive/Why not wait to catch them all together this way you dig one big hole one time.” Dame also said at the time that the beef reallys started in 2001 when Jay-Z bought the “Izzo” beat from Kanye West after hearing him play it for Cam in the studio. By 2010, the beef was still going on, at least on Cam’ron and Jim’s side. But it was clear that Hov was done with the child’s play. Now here we are in 2019 — Jay-Z does his B-sides show in New York City where it all began, and brings out both Cam’ron and Jim Jones to rock the stage with him. Source: NBC / Getty O n April 17, director John Singleton suffered a stroke after returning from a trip in Costa Rica. At the time, it was reported that it was a mild stroke and that the flight back may have triggered it. “On Wednesday, April 17, our beloved son/father, John Singleton, suffered a stroke while at the hospital. John is currently in the ICU and under great medical care,” said Singleton’s family said in a statement to ET . “We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and appreciate all of the prayers that have been pouring in from his fans, friends and colleagues. Thank you, The Singleton Family.” However, things are reportedly much worse than what was originally reported. According to TMZ , Singleton actually suffered a major stroke and is currently in a coma. TMZ got a hold of some legal documents that show that Singleton’s mother, Shelia Ward, is asking to be appointed to be his temporary conservator. Singleton was allegedly involved in several business projects and was prepared to sign “a lucrative settlement agreement,” and his mother wants to handle those affairs while Singleton is hospitalized. According to Yahoo , “a physician submitted a declaration, saying John Singleton was suffering from “major impairment to motor skills and psychological functions, including his ability to ‘reason logically.’” Singleton is a legendary film director, screenwriter and producer who is famously known for directing Boys n the Hood , which gained him a nomination for Best Director at the Academy Awards — making him both the first black man and the youngest ever to receive that nomination. Singleton also directed classics like Poetic Justice, Higher Learning, Baby Boy and 2 Fast 2 Furious. He also wrote all mentioned except 2 Fast, 2 Furious. Singleton has also been an advocate for black voices in media, criticizing Hollywood for not letting black men and women direct black-themed films.

More than a thousand cases have been reported in Indio, Palm Desert and Coachella Valley — and also L.A., Orange and San Diego counties where most of the concertgoers live. During the first 2 days of the festival, 250 people were treated for Herpes. Yikes! It almost makes you wish you weren’t there. Well, here’s the latest on what has been a pretty rough stretch of time for the American singer. VIA | HipHopDX CHICAGO, IL – R. Kelly was expected at Cook County Circuit Court this week but failed to show up. As a result, the embattled R&B singer lost the civil lawsuit by default, according to The Chicago Tribune. He was expected to address the allegations he’d sexually abused an underage girl in the late ’90s. The now-36-year-old woman filed the suit in February, alleging Kelly had participated in sexual acts with her multiple times in June 1998 when she was only 16. Judge Moira Johnson granted the attorneys’ request to enter a judgment against Kelly on Tuesday (April 23), which could still be reversed if Kelly hires an attorney to handle the suit. READ MORE

Source: FOX / Getty Tonight’s episode of Empire gives us a tiny bit of reprieve from the drama and the inevitable tearjerker episode that will be the season finale. Kai and Jamal are preparing to get married. This wedding is a big deal for network TV. Anyway, let’s fast forward a bit. Now, we find Cookie, Lucious, Hakeem and Dre at home spending quality time together, and Damon Crosswalks in with the painting. You know, Cookie and Lucious wedding painting. Lucious said his broker said it was nowhere to be found so he’s wondering how Damon Cross found it. But this is Damon Cross, so here we are. Jamal, completely oblivious to who Damon Cross really is, thinks he did a good thing and is so moved that he invites him to the wedding. Next, we’re at Jamal’s bachelor party. Jamal, Becky, Andre and Hakeem are having fun until Kingsley walks in. It turns out, Andre invited him because life is short and since Kingsley is the oldest now, he has to step up to the plate and take care of his brothers. That’s exactly what Andre explains to Kingsley and his other brothers, who are giving Kingsley the side eye but decide not to make a scene. Andre’s newfound peace with Kingsley is the crux of this scene. Now it’s the actual wedding day. The feds start harassing Lucious again. They bring him into custody and try to get him to flip on Damon Cross. They have evidence that Damon’s off-shore Panama money is all over Empire’s books. Plus, we all know that Lucious would like to get the tour going again, but he’s not intimidated by her so he steps out and heads to his son’s wedding. Meanwhile, Cookie is at the church preparing for the wedding. Damon Cross stops by the church talking about how he misses her, yatta yatta. She tells him to leave and he does, but then she notices that Jamal heard the entire conversation. Jamal is already nervous because he thinks Lucious isn’t coming to give him away and he’s pissed at his mom. Cookie explains that nothing happened he just supported her through Andre’s sickness. Jamal foolishly tells her to tell Lucious but we all know that’s not going to go over well so that’s that. Lucious finally shows up late, due to the feds but what’s important is, he manages to put some of his homophobia aside to give Jamal away. The ceremony is beautiful and the reception is all fun and games. Kingsley is even there and it seems like even Cookie is starting to kind of like him. Speaking of Cookie, she finds out that Terry is pregnant. Dre doesn’t know yet but Terry tells Cookie that she doesn’t want him to know right now. Then, Lucious finds Andre in a room sitting alone and this is where the bad news comes back. Andre’s cancer treatments have been going well but he’s still dying. The chemo drugs he took destroyed his heart and the damage isn’t reversible without an entirely new heart but a transplant probably won’t happen for him because he’s not stable enough. He only has a couple of weeks to live but he wants to end his own life. Lucious tells him that Lyons don’t give up and that’s not how he’s going to go out. You know how that goes. But Dre said what he said and wants to die on his terms. At this point, it looks like Dre really is going to die, which is unfortunate. This show does tend to throw us curveballs so we can still hold on to that 1% of hope because honestly if Andre dies, it would be a waste of a character arc. Plus, why does everything bad just seem to happen to him? Anyway, we’ll find out what happens next week.
