A massive sinkhole in Guangzhou, China, swallowed up buildings and knocked out power to thousands of residents this week, and it was all caught on video. China Sinkhole According to reports, the sinkhole is about 3,230 square feet in diameter and very deep. It caused buildings to implode as if they were being detonated. Neighboring structures were evacuated and streets were blocked by police. “Gas could be smelt from over 30 metres away, and deafening noises could be heard as the land continued to crack and sink,” the Shanghaiist reports. Sinkholes are, unfortunately, nothing new, and some are human-induced. In Beijing, massive bomb shelters, “constructed amid fears of an impending nuclear attack during the height of Chinese-Soviet tensions,” may be a factor. Sinkholes have often been correlated to land-use practices, especially from groundwater pumping and from construction and development practices. They can also occur in areas where the rock beneath the surface can be easily dissolved by groundwater, or due to other natural forces below.

Warner Bros. has officially given a green light to an Entourage movie , with creator Doug Ellin on board to direct, Mark Wahlberg to executive produce and the entire cast set to reprise the role that made their long-running HBO hit such a success. Adrian Grenier will be back as Vinnie Chase, Jeremy Piven as Ari Gold and, undoubtedly, a slew of celebrities will stop by to make cameos as themselves. I’m just gonna start off by saying it is SO TRUE that you should NOT give up, because I literally had NO tickets, and definitely NO meet and greets. I’ve been a belieber since 2009, before everything. I have seriously been waiting since then to meet Justin. I went to the My World tour because I was lucky enough to buy tickets before it sold out but this year, the Believe Tour sold out in minutes. I couldn’t afford tickets at all but I decided to join BieberFever because I could enter a contest and probably get a chance to finally meet Justin. I took a picture of all my Bieber merch and sent it in. The day before the concert came and I was freaking out . I was so mad at myself for the picture I had sent cause I thought it wasn’t good enough. Then at around 8:00 p.m. I decided to check my email for some reason and saw and email from BieberFever and stopped breathing. I was crying and shaking . I freaked my Grandma out because I yelled. I NEVER win contests so I was in so much shock. I was praying about this for so long and I just couldn’t believe it. My mom finally agreed to take me to the arena. My mom, brother and I got to the Oracle Arena at 9:30 a.m. and we were not the first people there. We waited around for a while, and I even had a sign that said “I don’t have tickets. Never Say Never?” and held it the entire time. We met all of the dancers so that was pretty cool. Then at 12-ish we hear someone say, “Fredos over there!” so we go towards the gate and saw him! He had to leave though because he was on the phone and everyone was screaming. Justin was still asleep on the bus I think so everyone was singing trying to get him out. Soon after Justin came out and was riding his segway by the fans, it was so crazy! After that, Scooter, Kenny, Dan, all came out and said hey . Then it was time to get our M&G wristbands. I was so nervous. I took my brother and he was wearing a shirt that said ‘Swaggy.’ I don’t know if Justin even saw it haha. Then it was our turn, and I couldn’t stand next to Justin because we had to be in groups of six. It was still the most amazing experience ever. I walked in and he was saying hello to everyone and we took the picture fast. I was ALREADY being pulled out but I stayed because I wasn’t gonna leave without hugging Justin. The only words I said were, “Justin can I hug you?” and he was still talking to someone and once he was done, he turned around and hugged me! He was so nice to every single one of his fans. He is so amazing. I will NEVER understand how someone can hate on him without even meeting him or anything. The security dude was telling me to go already so I had to, but I had to talk to Fredo first cause he was there! I told him I had bought him Oreos and asked if he was gonna go outside and he was so nice. He was holding my hand the entire time, I don’t know how I was talking. So finally I left to go outside. I was shaking so bad and everyone kept asking how he smelt like and everything. Then a radio station there played OLLG and I cried so much. I cannot believe I finally met him. Then an hour later I started freaking out because I thought I was going to miss the concert. I am SO GRATEFUL THAT I GOT TO MEET JUSTIN – don’t get me wrong. But, I wanted to go so bad. I walked around the arena looking for someone in the crew, praying so much. I did not give up and I refused to leave. I stood by the gate where Fredo and Justin had been earlier and there was 2 girls there who were waiting for Fredo. We just started talking, and a while after the show had started. Then Alfredo and Scooter both came outside and started talking to us! Scooter was like, “Have you three talked to each other?” We said yeah and he’s like, “Okay, well I think you 3 should bond more… inside.” I once again stopped breathing, like what is going on!? HE GAVE US TICKETS. That doesn’t happen to me! Scooter kept telling us we needed to get inside so I didn’t get a picture with him, but I hugged him and he is so nice. I finally decided to look at the ticket and saw that we were in ROW 5! The concert was just the most perfect thing ever. Justin did amazing, he touched my hand and yes of course I did freak out. I cried during ‘Be Alright’ and I was just to thankful for the entire day. I cannot thank Scooter, Justin, and Alfredo enough too. I also still have the heart we held up for Avalanna, my ticket, my signs, everything. Game developer Crytek has hired director Albert Hughes to bring its Crysis gaming franchise to the big screen. Half of the Hughes brothers team behind Menace II Society and T he Book of Eli , Albert is directing The 7 Wonders Of Crysis 3 , an online series set in a reforested future New York 2047. Behold the teaser: Production companies often have trouble converting video game properties to film, which is why Crytek isn’t bothering — with the production companies. Using no actors or movie cameras, Hughes is directing the game engine itself, rendering his cinematic vision with the same software players will use to shoot each other in the face. And here are four reasons to look forward to it. 1. The Greatest Graphics The Crysis series has always been famous for its stunning visuals. While other games worry about the mass-market, Crytek’s approach is “Bring us your most powerful and expensive computers and we will make them cry gorgeously detailed tears with realistic fluid dynamics.” Its CryEngine is the heart of the entire company, rendering massive, fantastically detailed worlds. In fact, Crytek’s first game, Far Cry, began as a technology demo which impressed people so hard it was developed into a full game. The engine has been constantly updated every since. The latest iteration, CryEngine 3, eats supercomputers and spits out state-of-the-art graphics cards. 2. A True Video-Game Movie It was only a matter of time until someone saw video games and asked “Wait a minute, why do we even still need people?” The answer is lots of reasons. But when most of the people in your film are extras designed to catch the heroes’ bullets, those reasons become less important. The technology for vactors — “virtual actors” — simply isn’t ready yet. But computers have been better than reality at special effects for years. Live-action movies already use computers for all the difficult bits. So when you’re setting the entire movie inside a computer, the whole world’s a stage: a special-effects stage loaded with pyrotechnics. And when you consider that Crysis 3 is about a nanosuit-enhanced soldier battling corrupt security forces, like the guy above, whose name is “Psycho,” and aliens, which do you think will be a bigger part of that story: facial expressions or explosions? Big-name videogames have become more like movies every year. Where once the player was a roving character exploring a maze of hallways, now they’re a single cog in a vast cinematic machine. Carefully guided from set piece to set piece by invisible walls and an omnipresent director, distributing cutscenes between every 10 explosions. Setting the game to “play” itself by hiring a director to say what happens instead of a gamer is just the logical next step in that evolution. 3. The Product Is The Advertisement Calling The 7 Wonders of Crysis 3 a fusion of video games and cinematics would be incomplete. It’s really a combination of video games, cinematics, and advertising. And that’s no bad thing. Sure, it’s blatantly designed to show off the proprietary Crytek graphics, but video games, movies, and adverts are the three fields most based on showing off amazing visuals and compelling stories that completely capture our attention. The resulting cinematic chimera has great promise. After all, Guy Ritchie has already directed an ad for Black Ops II . When the guy behind the Sherlock Holmes franchise is directing the star of that franchise in a video-game commercial, anyone who doubts they’re just as big as movies simply hasn’t been paying attention. Besides, any product is meant to be its own advertisement. Here that advice is literally true. Games As Art (And New Ideas) Hybridization always creates new ideas. And the only people still arguing about whether video games are art were eligible to retire before we started playing them. Even the most violent shooter can be stuffed with artistic flourish and deeper meanings. Bioshock was a beautiful steampunk fantasy which turned a generation onto Atlas Shrugged . The “soldier shoots other soldiers, also aliens” might not sound like a vehicle for quite as much content, but it’s beautiful. Crysis has always been about binaries, and not just in the 1s and 0s that make it happen. Every aspect of the games has a duality. You fight armed human soldiers, then inexplicable aliens. You’re outfitted with state-of-the-art technology but find yourself enmeshed in nature. You’re encased in a nanotechnological miracle of body-enhancing armor and you find yourself wielding a bow and arrow. And it looks awesome. And it looks awesome. The series started on Dec 12. I’ve been trying to meet Justin since 2009. He’s been my idol for 4 years now. I’ve participated in a lot of contests but I never won. I wanted to buy M&G tickets but they were sold out so I got normal tickets. One day, I was on bieberfever.com and I saw this contest to win M&G to the show in my city. I was a member so I decided to enter. My show was on November 26 th 2012, and on November 25 th 2012 I’ve got an email from BieberFever saying that I won the contest. I’ve never screamed like that, I was so excited I couldn’t believe it, I’ve never been lucky in these kind of things. Me and my friend have planned to go around the Bell Centre to maybe meet the crew or Justin, so we went even though we were already going to meet him. We waited 5 hours outside in the cold but it was too cold so we left at 1:30 to go to Starbucks. At around 4:00 p.m. we went to pick up our M&G wristbands. It was really long but we finally got in. In the line up, Dan showed up because he knew some people in the line. He stayed there for the entire time we were waiting. When it was time to meet Justin we went in the little tent. He said, “Hey guys” and I said “Hi Justin!” I wanted to hug him but the security told us we didn’t have time so he took me by the hips and put me behind him. We took the picture and then the security guard pushed me away. I said ‘JUSTIN’ and he turned around and looked at me and smile. I gave him the letter I wrote for him and he was like, “Omg this is for me?” He was really happy. I said, “Yes! Goodbye I love you so much,” and he said, “Aw I love you too,” with the cutest smile. He was so flawless and beautiful, and he smelled amazing. It was only 15 seconds but it was perfect. Then when I got out, Kenny, Jeremy, Jaxon and Jazzy were standing there. I said hi to Kenny and got to shake his hand. Then I said hi to Jeremy and he said hi back with a big smile. He has a really beautiful smile, that’s why Justin’s smile is so perfect haha. Jaxon and Jazzy were concentrated on something so I didn’t talk to them but they were adorable. I walked away because the security told me to leave, and when I left I saw Bruce. It was the best minute of my entire life. The show was beyond amazing, I’m so proud of him. Never give up on your dreams and never say never. I never thought that I would meet him one day and I never thought one day I would write my Bieber experience , I feel really lucky and I’m very grateful.
