‘The Buried Life’ Guys Say They’re Down For A Third Season

‘We always have things on the list that we want to cross off,’ castmember Ben Nemtin explains. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Rya Backer The cast of “The Buried Life” Photo: Angela Weiss/ Getty Images The gang behind MTV’s “The Buried Life” isn’t likely to leave behind a lengthy list of regrets when they kick the bucket, and for the season-two finale, the boys kicked off one of their biggest episodes ever: an hour-long opus packed with gutsy attempts at making a million bucks. Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood and Duncan Penn recently kicked back on the MTV Newsroom couch to chat about the finale and said the inspiration for the episode came from one of the most popular wishes that people across the board want to fulfill: becoming a multimillionaire. “Everywhere we go, we ask the question: ‘What do you want to do before you die?’ And it’s amazing how often we get an answer that has something to do with money and specifically like, ‘I wanna make millions of dollars,’ ” Duncan explained. “We really wanted to see how far we could get at making a million dollars. We tried everything [and] pulled off some amazing, amazing things. We’re really excited about this episode; that’s why we made it an hour long. We also get to help someone in a way that we’ve never been able to help someone. It’s a good one. It’s probably one of our best.” For Ben, his jumbo-size Las Vegas gamble tops his list of season two’s best moments. “My personal highlight is a moment that happens in the finale. The [episode goal] is to make a million dollars, and we do the biggest roulette spin in Vegas’ history. It’s probably one of the most nerve-racking … I don’t even know how to explain it, but it was a feeling that I don’t think I’ve never felt before, right before that spin,” he recalled. As viewers saw Monday night (November 29), the guys each chose a different path toward pumping up their bank accounts, armed with $25,000 of seed money each. Ben hit Vegas, Duncan ventured to Wall Street to team up with investment expert Jim Cramer, and Dave went into the apparel game, cranking out zippered onesies for adults. Duncan explained that his personal interest in business drew him to the moneymaking address. “I studied business in school, and so I decided what I wanted to do was go to Wall Street and team up with somebody, kind of a guru in the game and see how far I could get, how much money I could make in sort of a short period of time doing, like, really, really risky plays,” he said. The boys can now strike a line through “starring in the second season of their hit TV series” on their “Buried Life” list. They’re definitely game for a third go-around, but even if their adventures aren’t broadcast to the world, the fellas say they’ll continue to whittle down their list on their own. “We always have things on the list that we want to cross off. We started this in a garage in Canada four years ago and were doing it three years before MTV,” Ben said. “For us, we want to keep doing this as long as we can, so there’s always gonna be things that we’re trying to cross off. I mean, ‘go to space’ is on the list.” Duncan agreed: “We’re still surviving this season, but I think we’d be up for a third season.” What did you think of the season-two finale of “The Buried Life”? ‘Glee’ Super Bowl Episode To Feature Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’

Entertainment Weekly reports the MJ classic will be mashed up with a yet-to-be-chosen song. By James Dinh The cast of “Glee” Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images After a string of high-profile guest stars and theme episodes, “Glee” will reportedly take on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” next in a mash-up with a yet-to-be-chosen song for the show’s post-Super Bowl episode , according to Entertainment Weekly. The episode, which will be co-sponsored by General Motors, is said to be the most expensive of the series’ history and likely one of television’s priciest episodes ever. Despite the cast’s “Thriller” mash-up, the broadcast will not serve as a tribute episode to the late King of Pop, but will feature contemporary covers of the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum and Katy Perry. As for how Jackson’s song will be incorporated into the show, the EW source revealed that the episode will have a sports theme by focusing on the local football championship and Sue Sylvester’s cheerleading regionals. The “Thriller” mash-up is expected to play onscreen during the game’s halftime. In addition to the timeless tune, Darren Criss and Dot-Marie Jones will reprise their roles as Blaine and Coach Beiste for the big time production. Earlier this year, rumors swirled about who the post-Super Bowl episode would pay homage to, including Bruce Springsteen. However, the source admitted that the only star considered for the episode was Elton John. Gleeks can expect a tribute episode for John as one of the season’s remaining episodes. Back in August, “Glee” star Lea Michele shared her idea for the episode. “I think they are saving Justin Timberlake for the Super Bowl episode,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “They have to be, because he is so perfect for our show. He has to be on it! When I met Jessica Biel, like a loser, I asked her to tell Justin to come on our show. [ Laughs. ] She was a little taken aback and said, ‘Um, OK. I’ll tell him.’ ” What song do you want to see in the “Thriller” mash-up? Share your ideas in the comments! Related Photos What Other ‘Glee’ Music Videos Do We Want To See? The Wit & Wisdom of Gossip Girl: Make Me Wanna Die

It took four seasons — well, three seasons and nine episodes — but the Gossip Girl creative team finally produced their worst hour of television ever. Well done, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage! “Witches of Bushwick” was everything a terrible episode of Gossip Girl normally is — stagnant, convoluted and boring — but with the added bonus of having the three worst characters come out on top. Yep, if you watch Gossip Girl for Vanessa, Jenny and Juliet, this was the episode for you! Wait, no one watches for them?

4 Edgy Family Situations Tackled in Last Night’s Parenthood: ‘It’s a Braverman Tradition’

During last week’s Parenthood , Sarah Braverman put her brother in a difficult situation by flirting with his supervisor over chocolate pudding . As delicious as that conversation may have seemed to them, it was a rotten dessert for Adam. He dealt with the ignominy by passive aggressively storing his resentment, only unloading fits of white, middle-class rage on Sarah days later for no apparent reason. The valuable lessons continued last night with the episode, “I’m Cooler Than You Think,” in which no character proved that they were cooler than you think.

Britney Spears ‘Glee’ Episode Draws Record-Setting Ratings

Tribute episode brings in 13.3 million viewers. By James Dinh Britney Spears and Heather Morris on the set of “Glee” Photo: FOX Madonna’s “Glee” tribute episode might have been titled “The Power of Madonna,” but it was the show’s tribute to Britney Spears that reigned supreme. The broadcast, which featured cameos from the pop princess herself, drew 13.3 million viewers, leading the 8 p.m. hour and posting its best-ever rating among adults 18-49. Tuesday night’s episode, appropriately titled “Britney/Brittany,” had a 5.8 rating and rose 4 percent from last week’s season-two premiere . The feat made history for “Glee,” as it becomes the first series since NBC’s “Seinfeld” in 1993 to debut as the top series of the week and then spike in ratings the following week, according to Entertainment Weekly. The episode, which highlighted Heather Morris’ character Brittany S. Pearce, revolved around the McKinley High students’ fight to perform Britney Spears numbers. Through anesthesia-induced sequences, the Gleeks tapped into their inner pop star to perform renditions of the singer’s hits, including ” … Baby One More Time” and “Me Against the Music.” In addition to Spears’ appearances on the hit Fox show, the singer took to Twitter during the West Coast premiere to thank fans for campaigning in support of the episode. “I loved it! Thank you guys SO much for making this happen!” she tweeted. The pop princess also gave props to the many song and video re-creations, including “I’m a Slave 4 U” saying, “Slave: Oh … My … God …! Those little boys are SO cute! I know how hard it is to dance with that snake! Nice job.” Spears’ manager, Adam Leber , also showed his appreciation for the episode, which spawned multiple trending topics on Twitter. “So glad you guys loved the GLEE episode! The Overwhelming worldwide response has been insane.3 of the top 10 worldwide trending topics.Sick! Big big big thank you to Ryan Murphy, the incredible cast and Brit’s fans for making it happen….” After such success, it wouldn’t be surprising if the rumors of a second Spears-devoted episode came true, since “Britney/Brittany” only included hits from the first few years of the singer’s career. ‘Jersey Shore’ High Five: Hair Flies And Hate Sex

From a house-wide brawl to Vinny and Angelina’s out-of-nowhere hookup, we recap this week’s episode of ‘Jersey Shore.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Snooki and Vinnie on “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV When we last left the “Jersey Shore,” the housemates were in the middle of mediating a highly emotional dispute or, as most viewers saw it, getting ready to throw down. Things came to a head after Vinny let JWoww know that Angelina was telling the rest of the gang about Pauly D’s “drunkity” state. Eventually, the issue turned into a smackdown between JWoww and Sammi, who were already giving each other the side-eye over the infamous “anonymous” letter to Sammi (which, we know, was penned by Snooki and JWoww) detailing Ronnie’s conquests. But that was just the first five minutes. Here’s a recap of the biggest moments from Thursday’s “Jersey Shore”: 5. Ferry Love After Vinny called out Angie’s town-crier approach to Pauly’s drunken night, the Staten Islanders spent most of the episode going at each other’s necks. Angelina even laid out her distaste for Vinchenzo at the gelato shop, telling Mike, “He’s not even good-looking, so he needs to jump off the ‘I’m good-looking’ train.” But by the episode’s final cab ride home, guess which two ferry-riders were sucking face in the back seat? Even the dude who laced Angie with a spankin’ new Fossil timepiece didn’t get all that. 4. Snooki the Multitasker Snooks finally got some action! Hurrah! Apparently, she didn’t waste precious bar banter coaxing details from her date and waited instead until they hit the sheets. The late-night canoodling woke up roomie JWoww with a mixture of moans and queries like, “How far you do live from here?” 3. Is Ronnie R. Kelly? Ron-Ron has been pretty much dogging Sammi for most of the season and, of course, the resident “Shore” philosopher Mike served up an insightful assessment of the situation. “He’s been peeing on her, and she’s still with him,” The Situation observed. “This is like when you’re a little kid and you find out Santa Claus is dead.” And everyone knows that finding out Santa died — instead of, you know, never existing in the first place — is way more traumatic. 2. Girlfight JWoww and Sammi didn’t hold back in the epic episode-opening catfight, which, as Ron-Ron put it, was “like putting firecrackers in a Dumpster.” The brawl sent parts of the d
