Wow. She lost her life over a prank. Woman Killed in Prank Gone Wrong Did he have to react that harshly? According to Mail Online A young woman was killed by a friend on Friday night in a prank gone horribly wrong. Premila Lal, 18, was allegedly hiding in a closet and jumped out around 8pm when she startled Nerrek Daniel Galley, 21, who reportedly shot her in a Longmont, Colorado home. A neighbor, who asked to remain unidentified, said she and her husband called the police after they heard yelling and screaming. She told The Times-Call that ‘three or four’ individuals got into a car and sped away, leaving the front door open. Galley and two of Lal’s male relatives, ages 12 and 15, loaded her into her own vehicle and took her to Longmont United Hospital, The Denver Post reprorts. The neighbor woman also told The Times-Call said her husband walked over there and saw blood and an abandoned mobile phone on the stairway. He came and got her, and together called 911. Longmont police were called at 8:02pm regarding the shooting. Just two minutes later, officers were called to the house regarding an ‘unknown problem.’ Lal died at approximately 9pm, Longmont police Cmdr. Jeff Satur confirmed. In his report, Owens said Longmont police are requesting a high bond for Galley, because he has ‘no ties to the community with a permanent residence.’ Longmont police are working with the Boulder County District Attorney’s office to determine whether Galley will be charged in relation to Lal’s death. Lal was a high school track star and graduate of Niwot High School, CBS Denver reports. Her parents are heartbroken over the loss of their daughter. ‘My life ended so suddenly and I think it’s going to take a few more days for us to really, you know, comprehend she’s gone,’ Praveen Lal said. This is why we need people control. This dumbazz didn’t know how to react to a simple prank and now this girl, who had a possible future as a professional athlete, is dead. SMH.

When keepin’ it “real” goes wrong… ESPN Will Not Renew Rob Parker’s Comments Via ESPN ESPN will not renew its contract with commentator Rob Parker, who was suspended last month following remarks he made on “First Take” in which he questioned Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III’s “blackness.” “Rob Parker’s contract expired at year’s end. Evaluating our needs and his work, including his recent RG III comments, we decided not to renew his deal,” an ESPN spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday. During a Dec. 13 episode of “First Take” on ESPN2, Parker was discussing Griffin’s answer to a question about Griffin’s role as an African-American quarterback. In questioning Griffin’s “blackness,” Parker cited that Griffin has a white fiancée and is rumored to be Republican. Among his comments, Parker, who is black, said: “Is he a brother or a cornball brother?” Parker later issued an apology on his Twitter account. A day later, on Dec. 20, ESPN announced he was suspended for 30 days. Well would you looky here… Cari Champion Selected A Full-Time Host Of ESPN’s First Take Via BigLeadSports Cari Champion, a reporter from the Tennis Channel, has been selected as the new host for ESPN’s First Take, three sources confirmed to me. ESPN is expected to make an announcement this week. Champion was selected over Heidi Watney and Jemele Hill (among others) and will sit between Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith on the occasionally combative morning show that athletes seem to hate-watch. Here’s a profile of Champion in Tennis View Magazine – she went to UCLA and graduated with a degree in English – and according to Urban Dictionary (weird, I know), she was once fired from an Atlanta TV station for dropping an MF on air accidentally. According to this link, though, she got her job back. I couldn’t find video on the web. Cari was fired from Atlanta’s WGCL Channel 46 back in 2007 for allegedly saying “motherf**ker” live on the air. Cari defended herself saying that really said “mothersucker” during a commercial break when she thought that her mic was turned off, the network brass wasn’t buying it and canned her anyway. Congratulations girl, but you’re working for “The Mouse” (Disney owns ESPN) now, and if you think your local news gig was tough on language then you better wash your mouth out with mad soap if you want to keep a job at the four-letter network!
