Rose McGowan Accuses Director Robert Rodriguez Of Exploitation Rose McGowan is pointing the finger at yet another big-name Hollywood heavy hitter. This time, it’s movie director and ex-boyfriend Robert Rodgriquez. She claims the man she loved at the time used the information of her 1997 rape at the hands of Harvey Weinstein on the set of “Scream” — and the subsequent payout she accepted and industry blacklisting that came afterward — against her in an exploitative manner. Robert Rodriguez told Variety back in October that he cast McGowan in his 2007 flick “Planet Terror” as a type of revenge on her behalf, giving her a leading role as a bad-azz character after years of her being blacklisted by Weinstein. As a result, the release of the movie, a double-feature alongside Quentin Tarantino’s film “Death Proof,” released as “Grindhouse,” was buried by Weinstein out of spite and did not do the expected box office numbers. However, Rose has a different accounting of events. She tells Vanity Fair in a new article that Rodriguez held the comeback opportunity he was giving her over her head, and used his knowledge of the details of her encounter with Weinstein to play exploitative mind games with her. He placed her in a near-rape attack scene with Tarantino, causing her to lose her grip on her sanity. Then, in the ultimate betrayal, he sold the film to the Weinstein company. The thing is…Robert Rodriguez and Rose McGowan started a full-on boyfriend/girlfriend relationship while on set of the exact same movie — unbeknownst to Rodriguez’s wife at the time. The relationship not only cost Rodriguez his marriage but also his career opportunities for a time since the scandal didn’t play all that well for him in the industry. According to Variety , PBS put out the following statement about the situation: “Effective today, PBS has indefinitely suspended distribution of ‘Tavis Smiley,’ produced by TS Media, an independent production company,” the public broadcaster said. “PBS engaged an outside law firm to conduct an investigation immediately after learning of troubling allegations regarding Mr. Smiley. This investigation included interviews with witnesses as well as with Mr. Smiley. The inquiry uncovered multiple, credible allegations of conduct that is inconsistent with the values and standards of PBS, and the totality of this information led to today’s decision.” Sources told Variety that the law firm in charge of the investigation took reports from 10 witnesses, a diverse men and women from different races and employment levels within Smiley’s organization. However, most of them former staffers. But what PBS found was eye-opening and they believe the following accounts are credible: Smiley engaged in sexual relationships with multiple employees who worked underneath him. Some witnesses interviewed expressed concern that their employment status was linked to the status of a sexual relationship with Smiley. In addition, witnesses described Smiley as creating a verbally abusive and threatening environment that went beyond what could be expected in a typical high-pressure work environment. Several expressed concerns about retaliation if they came forward or reported his behavior to higher ups. Of course, Smiley is denying all of these allegations. The PBS investigators refused to review any of my personal documentation, refused to provide me the names of any accusers, refused to speak to my current staff, and refused to provide me any semblance of due process to defend myself against allegations from unknown sources. Their mind was made up. Almost immediately following the meeting, this story broke in Variety as an “exclusive.” Indeed, I learned more about these allegations reading the Variety story than the PBS investigator shared with me, the accused, in our 3 hour face to face meeting. My attorneys were sent a formal letter invoking a contractual provision to not distribute my programming, and that was it. Put simply, PBS overreacted and conducted a biased and sloppy investigation, which led to a rush to judgment, and trampling on a reputation that I have spent an entire lifetime trying to establish. This has gone too far. And, I, for one, intend to fight back. It’s time for a real conversation in America, so men and women know how to engage in the workplace. Despite the drama-filled 24 hours that have surrounded her, Omarosa Manigault still managed to head to the Good Morning America studios for a sit-down interview to let the world know her side of why she’s no longer a member of the Trump administration. Apparently, everyone but Omarosa Manigault knows that she was fired from her “never really explained” position in the Trump White House, however that didn’t stop her from going on Good Morning America and telling Michael Strahan her side of things. Reports immediately started flying about Omarosa’s unceremonious exit from the White House, which included being physically escorted off the premises, her cursing and yelling and demanding to speak to Trump before she left. In her first (and very quick) interview since the turn of events, she did what was expected—denied everything and insisted that she resigned to “pursue other opportunities.” This is the same sentiment that was echoed by Trump, as he tweeted and thanked Omarosa for her service. Of all of the reality star families on television, few – if any – are more controversial than the Duggar family of Tontitown, Arkansas. They’re so controversial, in fact, that 19 Kids & Counting was cancelled years ago. Yet most of the clan still appears on Counting On . Since last season ended, there’s been no official word of renewal, and no shortage of scandals involving the Duggars, making us wonder: Has TLC finally canceled Counting On ? The Duggars were always going to be controversial, from rearing 19 children to their extreme views of the world in which they are raised. Yet those same unorthodox rules and lifestyle guidelines are what made 19 Kids and Counting such a talked about series in the first place. The supervised “courtships” and side-hugs, Michelle’s hair, and again the very concept of having 19 children made the Duggars interesting. Many watched and appreciated how they clung to their religious and moral convictions. Others watched with more concern and fascination. Realizing that there are people in the US whose children are forced to grow up this way, isolated from mainstream society, some grew alarmed. None of that is what got 19 Kids and Counting taken off the air, however. Back in 2015, 19 Kids and Counting was canceled by TLC. That happened because Josh Duggar molested five little girls, including his own sisters. One of those sisters was only five years old . And Jim Bob and Michelle had covered it up. So, suddenly, Counting On became the vehicle for the Duggars to espouse their worldviews … without Josh, of course. And, initially, without Jim Bob and Michelle, though they have made occasional appearances on the rebooted version. While it returned to the airwaves and the more salacious scandals died down, Counting On hasn’t exactly been scandal-free, either. We don’t just mean Duggar daughters wearing pants or Joy-Anna Duggar’s very probably shotgun wedding or Jill Duggar’s nose piercing , either. We mean actual scandals. Like the one that got Derick Dillard fired from Counting On after a series of comments he made, of his own volition, and on his own time. Derick and Jill had been slammed multiple times for shadily begging fans for money to help with their already controversial “mission trips.” But what got Derick Dillard fired by TLC was his ongoing, one-sided feud with fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. Jazz is a teenage star of her own series, I Am Jazz . What stuck in Derick’s craw was that Jazz is trans, and he feels “transgender is a myth.” An odd thing to say about a teenage girl who literally exists. It’s also the kind of statement that leads to real-world violence against trans women. Just the same, Derick continued to attack Jazz over social media and to misgender her at every opportunity, until finally TLC had enough. The question remains: will Derick Dillard’s firing – the network made it clear he won’t be back – lead to the cancellation of the entire series? Even two and a half years later, Josh Duggar scandal hasn’t actually gone away, except (apparently) in the minds of the Duggars. Counting On has had six seasons. But we don’t know if there will be a seventh, and based on recent events, it’s looking doubtful. The Inquisitr reports that TLC posted that Counting On had been renewed … only to immediately delete the post. That’s a clue … but of renewal for season seven, or of cancellation? No one knows, although there are theories. It may be that TLC intended to release the renewal announcement for the show, and accidentally posted it early. That happens sometimes when you’re scheduling a post for a future date, either on a webpage or social media. It may also be the case that TLC had scheduled a renewal post a while back … and then forgotten to cancel it when they changed their minds. The Duggars have posted on their own family blog that they don’t yet know if they’re getting renewed. Which means that no one outside of TLC knows. They’ve already looked at ratings, so there must be other factors that they’re considering. Perhaps things of which the public isn’t even aware. Our guess is that higher-ups are either still mulling it over … or they’ve decided to cancel Counting On and are waiting for the right time to drop the news. E pisode 6, of The Walking Dead , titled “The King, the widow and Rick” breaks this season’s trend action-filled episodes and dials it back. Tonight’s episode opens up with each of the camps communicating with one another via letters filling each other on how the war with The Saviors is going. We learn that according to Rick the plan is working and that its main goal was to successfully cut off The Sanctuary’s supply route. That does seem to be the case based on the events that took place on last weeks episode where the workers decided to voice their frustrations. The reaction to Rick’s word doesn’t invoke a spirit of togetherness as members of the team decide to handle things their own way. King Ezekiel is still on down and out after witnessing his men getting slaughtered and his pet tiger getting ripped to shreds by walkers. Audrey Roloff has an important and surprising announcement to make. Actually, before she does so, Audrey Roloff has a precious and adorable photo to share: Perfect, right? How does the Little People, Big World star do anything that doesn’t involve cuddling her daughter, Ember Jean?!? Sadly, however, fans of the reality star may not be seeing many more pictures such as this going forward. Audrey announced as a caption to the cute snapshot that she may be posting less frequently on Instagram going forward. And she share an interesting reason why. “All cozied up with my sweet little Ember. She warms my heart, get it. Snuggling her is my favorite,” opened Roloff. She then delved into more profound and religious detail: “Ok so… I’ve been convicted on something lately… As much as l love sharing my life with y’all and what I’ve learned/am learning, l never want to be someone who spends more time sharing on social media than l do seeking the Lord and searching His truths.” Audrey, of course, has always been very open about her faith . “I know this might sound a little contradictory, cause here l am sharing this, but maybe some of you can relate?” she continued,adding: “In a world that invites us to share share share, l want to seek seek seek. Instead of always reaching for my phone to document a moment or share on social media, l want to be more concerned with seeking God in those moments and listening for what He might have to share with me! This is a common critique of social media, of course. Not the connection to God necessarily, but the fact that some people spend more time documenting their lives than living their lives. “Don’t get me wrong, l love sharing and engaging with you all in this space,” Audrey concluded. “But it should always come second to time with my Creator and redeemer. “I want to be someone who spends more time reading truth, engaging wisdom, and listing for His still small voice, than sharing my own incomplete oversimplified perspectives.” Roloff has also faced a lot of unfair criticism as a result of her frequent Instagram posting. She was somehow dragged online for this simple photo of her daughter, for example. This may explain why Jeremy recently expressed support for his beloved soulmate. “Im so proud of my wife. These last few weeks have been pretty tough on her,” Jeremy wrote yesterday. “(If you watch our stories you know what I’m talking about) But she’s been a trooper and I’m thankful that I have her as a teammate.” Hey, whatever makes you feel happy and content, Audrey.
