Catastrophe was narrowly avoided at the racetrack on Saturday night, August 1. In a frightening video making its way around the Internet, we see Daddy Dave (from “Street Outlaws) lose control of his nitrous-fed Chevy II during an event at the Amarillo Dragway in Texas. Just seconds after the starting gun sounds, Daddy Dave loses control and his car strikes the wall, partially bursting into flames and flipping six times. The racer was taken away by ambulance and later listed in stable condition. Fortunately, however, wife Cassi Comstock took to Facebook on Sunday afternoon and wrote that her husband has a “serious concussion, a bruised lung and plenty of bumps and bruises.” But he thanks fans for their support and is expected to make a full recovery. Pretty crazy/amazing when you see what happened to put Daddy Dave in the hospital:

On Saturday, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s funeral turned into yet another family feud, and it could be far from over if this report is to be believed. Leolah Brown to Pat Houston: You’re Going DOWN! Fans of the late Whitney Houston may recall rumors of the Houstons snapping and shopping a so-called “death photo” at her 2012 funeral. Fast forward three years to Bobbi Kristina meeting a similarly tragic end and the Browns fearing a repeat performance may have occurred. The Browns were outraged that a photo of Whitney Houston’s body, in her casket, was taken and ended up on the cover of a magazine. As for why they blame her side of the family? The Browns were persona non grata at the service , so they do have a point in that regard. Sources say the Brown family planned to band together and stand guard so that a Bobbi Kristina Brown death photo did not circulate. Their eyes were firmly trained on the Houstons, especially Pat Houston, who was in charge of managing the funeral outside Atlanta. All signs pointed toward this already sad occasion turning ugly, and fast – which is pretty much how it played out to say the least. Bobbi Kristina’s paternal aunt, Leolah Brown , was KICKED OUT OF THE SERVICE following a bizarre outburst at Pat Houston. As Pat Houston was getting ready to speak, Leolah reportedly stood up and shouted at her, “Pat, you know you are wrong for this!” She was swiftly escorted from the church by security. “I told her that Whitney is going to haunt her from the grave,” Leolah told the press, which had assembled outside the memorial event. Leolah was asked if she thought Bobbi Kristina’s death would signal the end of the feud between the Browns and Houstons families. “It’s just getting started,” she said. Game (sadly) on.

Chris Brown’s baby mama Nia Guzman believes their daughter Royalty is not safe when she’s alone with him and wants a judge to intervene. So much for working this custody thing out amicably. Reports that Nia feels Royalty is not safe with Chris are not new, but it’s worse than we thought, as she is now getting the legal system involved. Guzman wants the courts to guarantee that Chris only sees Royalty, who recently turned one, when someone else is around to monitor them. We imagine this is not going to go over well. Nia Guzman filed the legal documents for supervised visitation; Chris has filed his own papers to establish paternity of the girl, born last year. Once he does so, the singer can legally fight for joint custody of his daughter, but the courts have not ruled on his application as of this report. For her part, Guzman wants full custody since she believes Chris Brown is just too irresponsible to care for another human being on his own. She may not make the most terrible point. Royalty and Chris have enjoyed some nice father-daughter bonding, for sure, but given his track record and the people he hangs out with?! Guzman believes he and his friends all have substance abuse issues, and are generally bad news ( Brown’s home getting robbed by “insiders”). Suffice it to say, Ted Nugent is not among those lighting a candle for the late Cecil the Lion. Instead, he is lighting the Internet on fire. In response to those crushed by the creature’s death – and the man responsible, Walter Palmer – Nugent unleashed an epic Facebook tirade. “The whole story is a lie,” writes the rocker. “It was a wild lion from a ‘park’ where hunting is legal & ESSENTIAL beyond the park borders.” “All animals reproduce every year & would run out of room/food to live w/o hunting,” adds Ted . “I will write a full piece on this joke asap.” “God are people stupid.” Ted’s statement would be true if he were speaking about white-tailed deer in Michigan, but applying it to endangered wild cats of Africa is a stretch. Walter Palmer didn’t merely rile up Twitter by hunting Cecil, he violated laws of Zimbabwe and is cooperating with an investigation as a result. Nonplussed, avid hunter Ted claims that this country’s president eats baby elephant, thus, “Zimbabwe has their own black devil tyrant. Sucks dont it.” We are at a loss for words at this point. Pivoting back to Cecil, he ranted, “Cecil, the other white meat. Lion’s lives matter? Bulls—. Only if they are disrespected with a human name.” “Black lives matter? Bulls—.” “Apparently not in Chicago Detroit LA DC Philly Compton South Central etc etc where they are slaughtered daily with no one giving a good goddam.” “Sick dishonest hypocrite society PC from hell,” Nugent, 66, concluded with this parting shot. “Lions are a renewable resource. Go back to sleep.” As of this report, Ted has yet to pen another missive about the killing of Cecil’s brother Jericho by poachers … but it’s still early Sunday morning.

Good news for fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys: Your teams won’t have to worry about facing a title-defending Tom Brady early in the 2015 NFL season. (Although frankly, we doubt that’ll save you, Jacksonville.) NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to uphold Brady’s four-game suspension that was handed down as a result of the quarterback’s alleged role in last year’s DeflateGate scandal . Brady and the Patriots have appealed, and even level-headed modern-day Solomon Donald Trump believes Brady was treated unfairly , but in a move that’s surprised many, the league is sticking with its initial decision. In a statement released today, the NFL stated that one of the reasons it’s upholding the suspension is the belief that Brady intentionally concealed evidence by destroying a cell phone that was requested by investigators. “At the hearing, Mr. Brady testified that it is his practice to destroy (or to give to his assistant to destroy) his cellphone and SIM cards when he gets a new cell phone,” the statement reads. Of course, this is a common practice among public figures; the phone was destroyed before investigators requested it, and there’s no league rule against destruction of personal property. So needless to say, the appeal process is far from over, and the league will now likely face off against Brady and NFLPA in court. Let’s hope it ends better than the last time a Patriot went to court .

On July 1, Walter Palmer of Eden Prairie, Minnesota made the unfortunate decision to combine two things that most people aren’t that crazy about: dentists and killing protected animals. The 55-year-old was on a big-game hunt in Zimbabwe when he shot and killed a beloved and internationally-known lion known as Cecil. The killing sparked global outrage, and Palmer admitted to being the man responsible earlier today. “I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt. I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt,” Palmer said in a statement issued to local media. Unfortunately for him, the Internet loves cats and hates root canals, which means Palmer is pretty much screwed. In the last 24 hours, his dental practice has been closed indefinitely; the business’ Facebook page has been removed as a result following hundreds of comments from animal rights advocates, and Palmer’s Yelp page has been bombarded with negative reviews. #CecilTheLion is currently the number one trending topic on Twitter, so it seems unlikely that there’s any relief in sight for Palmer. We guess the lesson would be: If you have to pay some shady guides $50,000 to kill something, it’s probably something you shouldn’t be killing. The scandal brings to mind the furor that surrounded teen hunter Kendall Jones last year. Although something tells us folks won’t be so quick to forget about Palmer.

Alabama Man Dies After Cops Pepper Spray Him A Black man in Tuscaloosa, Alabama died after officers used pepper spray to subdue him when he resisted arrest, police said on Saturday. Via RawStory : Police received a call on Friday night that a man armed with a gun was sitting on a porch at an apartment complex in the city, Tuscaloosa police said in a statement on their Facebook page. Police later identified the man as Anthony Ware, a 35-year-old African-American, the Tuscaloosa News reported on its website. When officers arrived, the man ran into nearby woods and was chased by officers who used the pepper spray before placing him in handcuffs as he resisted arrest, police said. He later collapsed as he was walking out of the woods, police said. Police conduct in the United States has been under scrutiny over the past year after a series of deaths of black men in confrontations with police that have provoked protests over the treatment of minorities by law enforcement. The Tuscaloosa News reported Ware was pursued by six police officers, including at least three white officers as well as a black officer and an Asian-America officer. Police plan to release video of the arrest from a vehicle dash cam and body cameras, Tuscaloosa’s assistant police chief, Ronnie Dunn, told a news conference on Saturday, according to the Tuscaloosa News. Police said they tried to revive Ware when he collapsed and that he was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Tuscaloosa County homicide unit will investigate the death, police said. A representative from the Tuscaloosa Police Department did not return calls for further comment.
