Vinnie Paul Dies; Beloved Drummer Was 54

Vinne Paul, a veteran musician in the heavy metal music industry and a founding member of the band Pantera, died this week from unknown causes. He was 54 years old. The drummer’s death was announced by Pantera on Saturday via Twitter, as the group simply posted the following message: Vinnie Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away. Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands Pantera and Hellyeah. No further details are available at this time. The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time. Paul helped create Pantera in the 1980s, along with his brother, guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. Their father a famous country and western songwriter and producer named Jerry Abbott. The group enjoyed mainstream success with second lead singer Phil Anselmo. Throughout its career, Pantera earned four Grammy nominations and charted nine albums on the Billboard 200, including its 1994 album Far Beyond Driven, which debuted atop the chart at the time of its release. After Pantera split up, the Abbott siblings formed Damageplan in 2003. However, the band was performing in December 2004 when Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed onstage during a concert in Columbus, Ohio. Since 2006, Paul was the drummer for Hellyeah, a heavy metal band that included Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray and  Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell. In the wake of Paul’s passing, some major names in the music business have shared their condolences on social media. Alice Cooper Tweeted the following: “Terribly saddened by the news of Vinnie Paul’s passing. “Vinnie was a beloved fixture in the rock and metal communities and we will miss seeing him out on the road. His impact on heavy music is immeasurable. Rest In Peace Vinnie, condolences to your family, friends and fans.” And then there was this from Slash: “Tragic news about Vinnie Paul today. “He was one of the warmest people I knew. A truly good & fun friend. We’re going to miss you more than you could possibly have known. RIP buddy.” And this from Bret Michaels: “Vinnie – You will be missed! You were an amazing human being & we had many great times together. A toast to you my friend, my prayers are with you!” And this from Dave Mustaine of Megadeth: “I just woke up in Belgium to the news that my friend Vinnie Paul has passed away. Another metal hero taken too soon. Say hello to Daryl for me. “Rest In Peace, my dear friend.” “Gutted to hear about the nicest guy in metal passing. Vinnie Paul showed us nothing but love. We’ll miss you Vinnie,” Papa Roach also wrote in response. As we said above, we do not know how Paul died right now or even on which day. Kailyn Lowry Says Chris Lopez is Her First Love (Wait, What?!?)

Kailyn Lowry has dated many men. We say this without a hint of judgment; it's simply a fact. The Teen Mom 2 star has been married once and has three babies by three different men. But while Kailyn has open been very candid about these relationships, both their ups and their downs, we were shocked by something she said a new Q&A session on her official blog. What bombshell did she drop about third baby daddy Chris Lopez? You'll be as shocked as we were when you find out below… 1. He’s a Deadbeat Dad! This is what Lowry said about Chris Lopez not long after her son Lux was born. She came down hard on him in March of 2018 for never actually be there for his child. 2. Instagram Isn’t Real Life “Don’t be an Instagram parent.” This is what Kailyn wrote in response to Lopez sharing a photo online of Lux despite, in her view, rarely being around to care for him. 3. But That was Then Of late, Lowry has said slightly more flattering things about Lopez. Heck, she allegedly wants to use his his sperm to get pregnant again , which means she can’t TOTALLY hate the guy. 4. Still, We Weren’t Prepared for This In the Q&A we cited above, Lowry was asked the following question: “Out of all the obstacles in life you’ve overcome, which was the toughest? Why? How did you get through it?” She considered this inquiry and gave a lengthy response. 5. Well, There Was My First Huge Break-Up… “When I think about everything I’ve been through, two things instantly come to mind,” Lowry said to open her response. “First was moving on from living with Jo and his family, and into an apartment alone with [first son] Isaac. The whole struggle of no longer being a “family” and understanding my feelings that went into all of those decisions was really tough.” Fair enough, right? 6. Kailyn Continued: “I really struggled with the realization that the entire situation I was in, including my relationship with Jo, was not meant for me. I was so thankful that Jo’s family was there for me, but Jo and I weren’t meant for each other. Of course, even though I knew this, it was still hard to see him moving on. We were 18 years old with a child together, and I really didn’t know how to understand what I was feeling or properly cope with it.” View Slideshow

Celebrities Slam Tender Age Shelters For Migrant Kids Separated From Their Families

Source: John Moore / Getty Once again, policies under the Trump administration are sending chills up people’s spines. According to The Associated Press , officials from his administration have been detaining babies and other young children forcibly separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border. The kids are being sent to at least three “tender age” shelters in South Texas. A fourth one is also planned for Houston, and it would hold up to 240 children in a warehouse previously meant for people displaced by Hurricane Harvey. Lawyers and medical providers have visited some of the shelters and described them as “play rooms of crying preschool-age children in crisis.” “Children are biologically programmed to grow best in the care of a parent figure,” said Alicia Lieberman, who runs the Early Trauma Treatment Network at University of California, San Francisco. “When that bond is broken through long and unexpected separations with no set timeline for reunion, children respond at the deepest physiological and emotional levels.” The separations come after the White House announced its zero tolerance policy in early May. U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that the U.S. government would criminally prosecute everyone who crosses the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. Children would then be separated from their family and be sent into “government care.”  Since the announcement of the policy, more than 2,300 children have been separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border. The United Nations, some Democratic and Republican lawmakers, and religious groups have slammed the separation policy, calling it inhumane. Images of some children in cages inside U.S. Border Patrol processing stations have rocked people to their core. Even news anchor Rachel Maddow , who usually keeps it together on air, broke down when trying to reveal the news of tender age shelters. Jax Taylor Pens Emotional Tribute to His Late Fater

In December, Jax Taylor’s father died following a cancer battle . Cancer is the actual worst, folks. Months later, on his late father’s birthday, Jax has taken to social media to share his thoughts on his dearly departed dad. Jax was clearly able to be emotionally honest, because you can tell that he wrote this from the heart. Jax Taylor’s father, Ronald Cauchi, is gone but not forgotten by his son. On Tuesday, June 12, Jax posted a tribute to his father on Instagram. “Happy birthday to my angel in the sky,” Jax writes. “I love you so much dad and I miss you more and more each day.” Losing a loved one can get easier over time, but … not in just a few months. “Since you have left you have changed me in so many ways,” Jax writes. Recent stories about Jax have made it sound like he’s really thinking about what sort of person he wants to be. Jax then adds: “Thank you for being my father.” There is no good time to lose a loved one. “My new goal in life,” Jax announces. “Is to be exactly the man you are to your family.” He makes it clear that he is not the only one who thinks that his father was a good person. Jax continues: “Jenny and I are still getting messages from your friends on what an incredible man you are…” He adds elipses there at the end, showing that he is pausing to find the words. This is an emotional message. “I am so f–king proud to be your son dad,” Jax writes. That is so sweet. His father is going to miss on some major life milestones. “My only wish is that you could see me and Brittany on our wedding day,” Jax laments.”And meet your grandchildren.” Jax and Brittany Cartwright are actually engaged . Like we said, it seems like he’s really stepping up. Jax takes comfort in one thing: “But I know you will be with me in spirit and help guide me the rest of my life.” That is so heartwarming to read. “I love you dad…” Jax trails off again. Even in print, sometimes deep and powerful emotions can be difficult to express. “Until we see each other again, keep the fireball ready and the redwing game on.” Jax ends his post on a seemingly alarming note. “I’ll see you soon,” he writes. “Cheers pop.” Despite his phrasing, we absolutely do not believe that Jax is expressing the expectation that he will die any time soon. We think that he instead means that, in comparison to the vastness of eternity, the rest of his long and hopefully happy life will seem relatively short. This is a sweet and tender message and shows how sensitive Jax can be as a person. Not only was Jax’s father’s birthday this week, but Father’s Day is coming up right around the corner. You know that this holiday celebration is going to be emotionally challenging for Jax. Perhaps even surprisingly so. When you are grieving a loved one for that first year, sometimes you don’t always anticipate which days are going to have the strongest emotional impact. Father’s Day is not one of the subtle ones. Back in March, Tiffany Haddish told a story with a mysterious ending that left the internet scrambling in search of clues. In a typically candid and hilarious interview, the comedian revealed that she once saw another celebrity bite Beyonce on her face in the middle of an A-list event. Haddish declined to identify the perpetrator, but further piqued the public’s curiosity by revealing that the feral female was high as a kite when she went in for a taste of Bey: Near the end of the party,” said Haddish. “Beyoncé’s at the bar, so I said to Beyoncé, ‘Did she really bite you?’ She was like, ‘Yeah,'” Haddish told GQ . “I was like, ‘She gonna get her ass beat tonight,'” Haddish continued. “She was like, ‘Tiffany, no. Don’t do that. That bitch is on drugs. She not even drunk. The bitch is on drugs. She not like that all the time. Just chill.’” At the time, Haddish stubbornly refused to call out the biter by name, but today, in a wide-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she finally spilled the tea: Like so many others, we predicted way back when that it was actress Sanaa Lathan who indulged in some top quality bath salts before sinking her teeth into Queen Bey, and now, Haddish has confirmed our suspicions: “I’m super good friends with her stepmom and her dad [Stan, a producer-director], and they were mad at me,” the Girls Trip star said. “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ “But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name!” It’s true. Haddish tried to protect Lathan’s identity, but internet sleuths are a persistent lot. She probably figured now that the cat is essentially out of the bag, she might as well come out with it. Tiffany was less worried about protecting the reputations A-listers like Roseanne (“She been racist, why’d you all give her a TV show?”) and Leonardo DiCaprio. “I met him at a party two, three months ago, and I asked him if he’d let me hit that,” said Haddish. “He’s like, ‘Tiffany, you’re so funny.’ I’m like, ‘I’m serious.’ And then he goes, ‘I mean, I’d do it, but…’ … I told him, ‘My only stipulation:  “I wanna do it with you as your character in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.’ He starts busting’ up laughing.’” Our younger readers might need to go watch Gilbert Grape both in order to get that joke and to understand that there was a time when Johnny Depp was more than a melting wax figure of Keith Richards. Farrah Abraham: STILL In Jail After Telling Cops to Go F–k Themselves!

Oh, Farrah. When you got fired from Teen Mom OG for generally being an awful person, we thought your days of entertaining/depressing us with your bonkers bad behavior had come to an end. In retrospect, we should’ve known a day like today was coming. In case you missed it, Farrah was arrested on charges of battery and trespassing last night after allegedly assaulting a male staff member at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel. According to the police report, she was booked at 1:48 AM. As of right now, she’s still being held on $500 bail. We still don’t know what set Farrah off (although we do know that booze was involved), but TMZ has obtained video of Farrah’s arrest , and as you may have guessed — it ain’t pretty. At one point, one of the arresting officers begins searching Farrah’s purse, and the former reality star demonstrates that even in her state of inebriation, she’s well aware of the reality of her situation: “Do you want to do that on camera so that everyone at TMZ can see?” Farrah asks. Further proving that her diva-like attitude remains intact, Farrah tells one of the officers, “I don’t want to be arrested.” She then repeats the phrase “I am not going to be provoked to be arrested” several times. Then things really take a turn for the worse, as Abraham screams, “I am not resisting you!” before breaking down in tears (a classic Farrah tactic) and accusing one of the officers of hurting her. A spokesperson for Farrah issued a statement today in which she thanked fans for their “concern” and urged them to “remember there are two sides to every story.” Meanwhile, police have issued their own statement, in which they state the painfully obvious and confirm that Farrah has hammered at the time of her arrest. “Officers noted that Abraham exhibited signs of intoxication during the investigation,” stated Lieutenant Elisabeth Albanese with the Beverly Hills Police Department this afternoon. It may be hard to believe, given her many years of batsh-t behavior, but this is only Farrah’s second arrest. The first took place in 2013, when she was hauled in on DUI charges . Back then, she pled guilty and was sentenced to six months probation. This time, Farrah might find herself facing a stiffer penalty. For one thing, she’s no longer a first offender. On top of that, there’s a legal precedent in this case, as it was just last year that Farrah’s fellow reality star Kim Richards was arrested for a drunken assault at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Richards very narrowly avoided jail time, but even if Farrah proves equally lucky, she’s got another problem on her hands: Sources have indicated that Farrah’s 9-year-old daughter Sophia was with her in the hotel on the night of the incident. Sophia is currently in the care of a nanny, but Farrah might soon be facing a custody challenge from her mother, Debra Danielsen: “She needs to be with her family, not about strangers and volatility and her mother being arrested,” Danielsen told Radar when asked about Sophia. “It’s very disgusting. She needs to go to school… She needs to not be dragged on a party all over the world.” We’ll have further updates on this developing situation as more information becomes available. Whatever the case is with their former ill will, it looks like things are all good between the pair–and we might even be getting music out of them soon. During a recent interview with Beats 1, Vic finally put all rumors of negativity toward his Chi Town pal to rest, but even more exciting is the fact that he teased some upcoming collaborations on the way.  Vic spoke with host Ebro Darden saying, “We been in the studio plenty of times. We got a couple of really dope records, actually,” he continued. “There was a record that me, Chance, and Valee did at one of my cribs in Chicago.” He didn’t provide any further details surrounding the music, but he did offer some insight on how their relationship has grown in more recent years.  “That’s my brother through and through,” Mensa continued. “There was times when me and Chano ain’t have bus fare and the Milwaukee Ave. bus ain’t running, so we sleeping sideways in somebody’s abandoned car. I’ve been through a lot of shit with Chance. Brothers fight, [but] that’s been over with for some time now.” Of course, the two rappers have collaborated on tracks before–including “Cocoa Butter Kisses” and “Suitcase”–but we haven’t gotten anything from them together in a few years. Here’s to hoping we get some new music from Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper in 2018.
