A single mother recently got the biggest Christmas shock of her life. Last week,  Jasmin Ford , a 30-year-old registered nurse, found out that Fifth Third bank paid off her $150,000 student loan debt. Talk about a Christmas miracle! Ford is a nurse and has been working two jobs to support herself and pay her loans. https://t.co/drQzRX6xR5 pic.twitter.com/ThxbuEspA8 — ABC 22/FOX 45 Dayton (@ABC22FOX45) December 13, 2018 “I still can’t find the words,” Ford told Good Morning America last Thursday, adding, “I’m off work again today and I’m just sort of pacing around and restless because I know my life is going to change.” GMA reported that the Chicago native was the first in her family to graduate from college, receiving a Master’s Degree in nursing. She found herself having to pay for school on her own, using student loans to help pay for tuition, rent, food and her other bills. Like many of us, Ford admitted that she never thought she would be able to pay off these loans down in her lifetime. “I could not foresee when I’d be able to pay it off,” Ford said of her debt. “I just knew this was going to be a part of my life as long as I was alive unless there was some significant change, which — wow.” According to WLS News , Fifth Third bank became aware of Ford, who is a customer, while they were working on a promotional video about student loan debt. Bank officials said they later “chose to pay off her student loans because she exemplified the impact that loans can have on a family trying to achieve.” Because of this huge act of kindness, Ford believes this will change her son’s life too, allowing her to be a more present mother. See, she worked two jobs almost every day of the week, something she can now give up. “I just imagine being able to spend more time physically with my family, not having to hustle, having mental freedom and with that, some spiritual freedom,” she told GMA. “I can open myself to more experiences, opportunities and just be able to sit and be with my thoughts and be able to pursue what it is I came to do.” “His life will be totally different,” she added. “I’m so happy and so proud that I’m able to offer that to him more than anything else because he deserves it.” Just amazing. A n 83-year-old man is living proof that it’s never too late to bring your goals to fruition. After dropping out of school in the sixth grade, Vietnam War veteran Johnnie Jones received his doctorate degree on Friday from Louisiana State University, WFAB reported. On Friday, the 83-year-old will receive his doctorate in social work at LSU. He hopes to begin law school next fall. https://t.co/tkgSBnSflK — The Advocate (@theadvocatebr) December 11, 2018 The milestone was historic as he became the eldest student to receive a graduate degree during a fall commencement at the school and the oldest Black person to ever receive an LSU degree. When he was 18 years old, Jones joined the Marine Corps. While deployed in Vietnam he decided that he wanted to get back on track with his education. He noticed that individuals who had high school diplomas and college degrees were getting better employment opportunities. After earning his diploma, he took junior college classes and was then able to take advantage of a program offered by Louisiana State University while serving. After retiring from the military in 1973 he got his bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Hawaii and went on to pursue his master’s degree at LSU. While chasing after his academic goals he worked at a restaurant and later as a warden at the Louisiana Department of Corrections to support his family. Although he has several degrees under his belt, he doesn’t intend on stopping his academic journey anytime soon. He plans on starting law school next fall. “Age is an artificial constraint. There’s nothing magical about 65, 75, 95, 105. Your behavior, your activities should be guided by your physical fitness and your mental fitness,” he told The Advocate . “We’ve been so socialized to believe that once you hit a certain age, I’ve done my thing, so I’m going to sit back and enjoy life. OK, if that’s your thing, that’s your thing. But to me, age doesn’t mean that much. Following Kanye West’s tweetstorm the previous day, where he addressed mental illness and his desire to desire to destigmatize it, Davidson–who is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder–posted a note saying that he doesn’t “want to be on this Earth anymore” before another note praising Kanye for his bravery in speaking out against mental health. In the first, now-deleted note, Pete wrote, “i really don’t wanna be on this earth anymore. i’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. all i’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so.” No matter what we think of celebrities or public figures, Pete Davidson is a human being who deserves to live. The thousands of hurtful comments to him are shameful and inhumane. Please know Pete, that you are loved by millions. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye. No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking about mental health. I’m seriously disgusted.” The first sentiment is what really got people worried, and though some people posted negative comments on Pete’s actual post before deletion, the rest of the internet seemed to rally behind Davidson with celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, and Jada Pinkett-Smith all reaching out to the comedian. Machine Gun Kelly even hopped right on a plane to fly to New York and make sure his friend was okay, since many who reached out were reporting that his phone was turned off. Along with other celebrities, Davidson’s ex Ariana Grande also seemed concerned about his Instagram posts, releasing tweets apologizing for joking about Kanye and then seemingly showing up at 30 Rock in case Pete needed anything. Grande’s now-deleted tweets read, “”i’m so sorry i told a dumb joke,” she said. “i really didn’t mean any harm. all i want everyone to be healthy and happy. so desperately. please. my god,” she posted regarding her tweets about listening to her new single instead of watching grown men argue online. Her next tweet read, “I’m downstairs and I’m not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything,” said the following tweet. “I know u have everyone u need and that’s not me, but i’m here too.”  TMZ  confirmed that Grande was at 30 Rock, where  Saturday Night Live  is taped, to see Davidson if she got a chance. After so many calls from fans, the police did end up pulling up at SNL to do a welfare check on Pete, confirming that he was OK following the scare before he appeared briefly on the show last night.

Today, he decided to let it all out responding to some of Drake’s recent antics, talking about the inner workings of their still unresolved beef. It all started when Kanye posted a text screenshot that reads, “Drake sent in a clearance request for “Say What’s Real”. Do you wanna clear?” “Say What’s Real” is a track off of So Far Gone , Drake’s mixtape from 2009, which samples Kanye’s “Say You Will.” Though it’s not known yet why Drake would need clearance for this record almost 10 years later, people are predicting that Drizzy will be adding the tape to streaming services sometime in the near future. Kim Zolciak: Putting Child in Danger with Sketchy Car Seat?!

Kim Zolciak gets a whole lot of hate for a whole lot of reasons. And a whole lot of the time, it makes sense. Like, she has a habit of Photoshopping photos of her young daughter to make certain features more mature, and she’s said some pretty wild things about racism . She also refuses to admit she’s had plastic surgery done on her face, which may be the wildest thing of all. Kim is just such an odd human being, and she makes it so easy to criticize her . But sometimes, every once in a great long while, she gets some hate she doesn’t deserve. Is this one of those rare moments? Let’s figure it out! OK, so Kim posted this photo of one of her children, Kash, on Instagram. Believe it or not, this boy is only six years old: Insane, right? It looks like Kash is very, very large for his age, so much he could easily pass for twice as old as he actually is. And yet, he is still in a booster seat. If you’ve been on the internet for any real amount of time, then you probably know that a lot of people can get fired up over car seat safety . Those people found their way to Kim’s post, and boy, did they let her have it. “He too damn big for a booster seat,” one person told her. Another said that “he has to be at the weight requirement to not be in that seat anymore … let go momma!” One of her followers thought this photo was a joke since he tooks “huge” in the seat, and another said that this must be “humiliating” for him. Someone else brought up the usual requirements for booster seats, writing “I’m sure he’s over 4’9″ and weighs more than 50 pounds.” “You’re doing too much unecessary stuff and this might be dangerous as he is sitting higher than his natural height.” There were really just boatloads of comments about how Kash absolutely has to be too big for the seat. Kim was not having it. On her Instagram story, she shared the guidelines for the booster seat, which suggests that kids use them until they are 4’9″ and 8 to 12 years old. She then showed a photo of the height chart she uses to mark her kids’ growth over the years, so we see that Kash is just 4’5″. “Y’all know I don’t play when it comes to my babies,” she added. If you can just get past how big Kash is and take another look at the photo, you can see that he does need the seat. With the boost, the seatbelt is situated properly, which is why you’d want a child in a booster seat in the first place. Yep, there are plenty of things to mock about Kim Zolciak , but this? This is not one of them.

Farrah Abraham Gets Roasted on New Reality Show; Viewers Rejoice

If you’re a Teen Mom OG fan, then you’re probably aware that Farrah Abraham was finally fired from the show last year. For many, that news was bittersweet, as Farrah was the absolute worst and she deserved to be fired, but she was also damn entertaining at times. We hate to admit she was right, but just as Farrah predicted, Teen Mom OG ratings have declined steadily in the months since she was fired. And, as the Backdoor Teen Mom foretold, numerous opportunists have stepped in to cash in on her infamy. Of course, she’s still Farrah, so for the most part, she’s been screwing them over and making them rue the day they met her.  First, Farrah backed out of a celebrity boxing match at the last minute, costing everyone involved a great deal of money. Now, Farrah is back on MTV thanks to a floundering project called Ex on the Beach. The show brought Farrah in for its second season hoping she would create drama and thus attract viewers. Unfortunately, based on early buzz about the show, it seems that Farrah may only deliver on half of that promise. It seems Farrah has been doing what she always does — lying, crying, and generally making life miserable for everyone involved. Despite all of that, however, Beach  may once again fail to make a splash with viewers. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be highlights. Take the season premiere, for example, in which Farrah gets roasted to a crisp by housemate Cheyenne Parker. “Out of everyone in the house, Farrah’s just been standoffish and her attitude sucks. I don’t tolerate attitude or diva syndrome,” Parker said. “As far as celebrity status goes, Farrah thinks she’s over here on the A-list, but baby, I gotta tell you something, D-list for you,” he added. Now, both those statements are just objective facts, but Farrah being Farrah, she flipped the eff out and screamed at Parker that he’s a “piece of sh-t.” Unfortunately, Parker then took a step too far by dragging Farrah’s child into it. “I didn’t have to give birth to somebody to fucking make ratings,” he said, to the chagrin of the other housemates. At that point, Farrah turned on the crocodile tears and sulked off to bed. So basically it’s the same Farrah that TMOG fans have been seeing for the past decade. Ratings seem to indicate she was missed, but will viewers tune in for Farrah on Ex on the Beach? Our guess is that ship has sailed. But who knows? Maybe if the show delivers on this “people screaming insults at Farrah” motif, it may find an audience. Ex on the Beach premieres on MTV on December 20. View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham: EEK! Kanye West to Drake: Stay Away From Kris Jenner and Stop Making Fun of My Sneakers!

See, this is the Kanye we’ve been waiting for. During his zany MAGA chud phase it wasn’t that we wanted Kanye to stop acting crazy — we know that’s asking far too much. We just wanted him to get back to get to the kind of crazy we were used to. You know, engaging in petty beefs with other celebrities, instead of declaring that slavery was a choice and telling the world he wants to play catch with Donald Trump. Earlier this afternoon, Yeezy gave Twitter something to talk about by re-igniting his feud with Drake that was thought to be over. Things got off to a bizarre start, with Kanye revealing that Drake had asked for clearance to sample one of his tracks. This is a standard business procedure that apparently pissed Yeezy off due to the fact that Drizzy has yet to apologize for remarks he made during his beef with Pusha T over the summer. It was also around this time that Kanye accused Drake of implying that he had sex with Kim Kardashian in one of his songs. Obviously, there’s still some bad blood here. Kanye being Kanye, a lengthy tweet storm ensued, but it’ll probably all be deleted by tomorrow. We waded through the nonsense and ran it all through our Kanye-to-English translator to bring you these highlights.
