‘Glee’ Cast Is Nervous, But Excited For Live Tour

In Concert! tour just days after wrapping the season. But the castmembers seem so eager to perform live, they’re not complaining about the workload before their four-city jaunt, kicking off May 18 in Phoenix. “So, we wrap after the 26th of this month and then two days later we start our tour rehearsals,” Dijon Talton (Matt) explained to MTV News before “Glee” returned for the second half of its first season on Tuesday night. “Every day, Monday through Sunday, for a couple weeks, and then we go on tour for a couple weeks, four cities, I believe. They are mostly sold out, and then a month later, back to do 22 episodes of season two. So it’s kind of like no break, work, work, work. But we love it. We wouldn’t have it any other way!” Heather Morris, who plays Brittany, added that it’s going to be a bit of rush to get everything solid before they take the act on the road. “We haven’t started the rehearsals yet, but we will be starting them for only two weeks prior to the actual tour itself,” she said. “And it’s going to be really rigorous, ’cause we have to get a show together really fast. But we did the ‘Oprah’ show, and when we were done, it was like, ‘That’s exactly what it’s going to be like,’ and it was crazy.” Dianna Agron (Quinn) is excited but nervous. “We haven’t started rehearsals yet. I’m anticipating sore muscles, lots of bubble baths,” she said. But Cory Monteith (Finn) added that he’s been preparing: “I’m ready for it. I’ve been working out: bench presses, bicep curls.” The buildup of buzz for the show’s return from winter hiatus and their upcoming tour has Naya Rivera (Santana) pumped. “Such an adrenaline rush,” she said. “This is just tip of the iceberg of what we’re going to see when we’re on tour. And I cannot wait!” Mark Salling (Puck) emphasized that the tour is really about the fans. “We started rehearsals a little, but that’s going to be another great opportunity to get to the fans and give them a good show,” he teased. “I’m going to lip-sync my ass off for you.” Are you looking forward to the Glee Live! ‘Glee’ Premiere Was ‘A Real Shocker,’ Fans Say

The show had so many twists and turns that it left fans excited about what in the world might happen next. “I think the Rachel and Finn [story line], that really got me,” one fan told MTV News. “I thought that was going to be really strong, and then him messing up at the beginning was a real shocker. And then her not coming back to him was really sad too.” Another fan was equally taken by Rachel’s surprising decisions in the episode. “This episode was awesome. I absolutely loved this episode — so many shockers in this episode. I was gasping,” she said. “[Mr. Schuester] was kissing everybody in the episode. Rachel is getting her groove on. She’s a pimp this season!” It sounds like Rachel and Mr. Schuester are both blazing new paths, and fans were surprised. “For me, the most shocking one was Mr. Schuester,” one fan said. “He’s kind of a slut. Can I say that? He’s a little skanky!” “Oh my god! The first episode is so amazing,” another fan gushed. “Of course, no one really likes [Mr. Schuester’s estranged wife] Terri, but it’s OK. I hope she’s going to be off, but Corey [Monteith, who plays Finn] is my favorite, Puck [Mark Salling], everyone! I love the songs, and I can’t wait to hear more.” Fans also enjoyed the show’s return because they felt it picked up where it left off. “I like this episode. It really returns from their first season, and you really get to see the inside of all the characters,” she said. ” … It’s amazing how these characters change through time and how they express themselves through these songs.” What did you think of the “Glee” premiere? Coheed And Cambria Claim MTV’s Musical March Madness Trophy

By James Montgomery Coheed and Cambria and MTV News’ James Montgomery Photo: MTV News Tuesday (April 13) was a pretty big day for Coheed and Cambria . Not only did their new album, Year of the Black Rainbow, hit stores, they also finally got their hands on the coveted MTV’s Musical March Madness Championship Cup , which they won last week after trouncing My Chemical Romance in the title match . In keeping with the humble streak frontman Claudio Sanchez displayed when he learned of C&C’s triumph (he was busy hosing down his deck and celebrated by playing a game of “God of War 3”), the rest of the band was equally modest when picking up the hardware. “It’s been a really long season of looking at the Internet two or three times a week,” bassist Mic Todd joked while hoisting the cup. “No, seriously. … I’ve always felt that our fans are really unique in their level of devotion to this band; that’s why we’re still able to be doing what we’re doing. I gotta say, I’m genuinely surprised this happened. It was a really nice surprise. Absolutely couldn’t believe it. So this is absolutely due to the fans’ perseverance.” “The trophy certainly reflects the devotion of the fanbase. Just how much they want to see us succeed, and it’s really important to us,” Sanchez added, while clutching the cup. “We’ll probably give it to [someone at Coheed fan site] , or maybe bring it on tour, so everybody can take a picture with it. It really reflects [the fans’] devotion, and it’s their trophy.” Yes, it was a somewhat muted celebration in the MTV Newsroom. No champagne was popped, no streamers cascaded down from the ceiling. There weren’t even championship T-shirts printed up to mark the occasion (we knew we forgot something). Still, as Coheed posed for photos with the cup, there was no doubt that they had bested a field of 65 — and that they were truly the champions. As all good champions do while in possession of a cup (think the giant silver NHL thing named after Lord Stanley), Coheed plan to take full advantage of its beverage-holding ability. “Oh, man, I’m going to put beer in this thing, and I’m going to drink out of it, that’s for sure,” Sanchez laughed. 30 Seconds To Mars Call Into The Wild Tour ‘A New Beginning’

By James Montgomery 30 Seconds to Mars Photo: EMI Music They just wrapped their first-ever run of arena shows in Europe, shot a combat-themed music video for “This Is War” and kicked off the U.S. leg of their Into the Wild tour . So why, with so much forward momentum, does Jared Leto consider everything 30 Seconds to Mars are doing to be a gigantic step back to square one? “I’ve said this before, but the most exciting thing about being in this band right now, is that it feels like the beginning again. Making this album, we rediscovered ourselves, and we emerged as something different,” Leto told MTV News. “We did the tour of Europe, which was a new beginning for us, and now, we’re touring America. And to have not toured here in three years, it’s a massive celebration for us and our fans. We feel like we’re beginning the journey again, here in this country.” The journey actually began on Friday in Las Vegas, when 30STM launched their Into the Wild trek at the Palms Casino Resort’s Pearl Theater. The tour will crisscross the country until mid-May, at which point the band will actually take about a month of before heading back to Europe for the summer fest circuit) — though, as Leto points out, they’re not taking a break willingly. “We’re just really excited, and we don’t want to stop,” he laughed. “This band is never exhausted. We’ve been able to play the songs on [ This Is War ] for audiences in Europe, and now we’re getting to play them for fans here. And right now, that’s what’s most exciting … to have people hear it and experience it.” And just what can fans expect on the U.S. leg of Into the Wild? Leto’s not saying. You’ve got to come out and see the show for yourself. “Like I said, it’s a celebration, it’s emotional, it’s a big, loud show,” he explained. “But, really, you’ve got to come out and see it. It’s unclear whether or not Kellan Lutz and AnnaLynne McCord are officially dating. But this much is not up for debate: both look smokin in a bathing suit! The on-again-off-again couple appears to be on again, as they vacationed in St. Maarten together this weekend. They were accompanied by McCord’s sister, Angel, who we cropped out below. For what reason? So fans could focus their eyes on the alluring bodies of the 90210 and Twilight Saga stars, respectively. Kellan has signed on for a couple of non-vampire roles in the near future: he’ll soon shoot Love, Wedding, Marriage , which co-stars Mandy Moore, James Brolin and Jane Seymour. From there, it’s on to War of the Gods , opposite Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto. In between, he’ll do press for a little movie called Eclipse . Maybe you’ve heard of it.

Lady Gaga Preaches, Practices Celibacy?

Singing sensation, sex symbol, rumored hermaphrodite … and celibacy advocate? If you’ve seen her music or seen any Lady Gaga pictures , you know about her racy, sexually-charged songs and outfits. But the star says she’s celibate. Come on … really? Really . “I can’t believe I’m saying this – don’t have sex,” she told the UK’s Daily Mail while discussing her role in Mac’s Viva Glam campaign, which supports global HIV and AIDS projects. “I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single.” “Because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody,” she said. “So it’s OK not to have sex, it’s OK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine.” Celibacy is something Lady Gaga wants “to celebrate” with her fans. “It’s OK to be whomever it is that you want to be,” she said . “You don’t have to have sex to feel good about yourself. If you’re not ready, don’t do it. If you are ready, there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you’re leaving!” She’s a real humanitarian . The important thing, Lady Gaga said, is to be true to yourself: “I remember the cool girls when I was growing up. Everyone started to have sex. But it’s not really cool any more to have sex all the time. It’s cooler to be strong and independent.” Unlike Bristol Palin , she practices what she preaches. Says she’s proud to be a role model, too. “When you’re in the public eye, you’re a role model whether you want to be or not. I want to be. I’m not one of those self-obsessed artists who don’t care about their fans. It’s not just about the music.” Gaga said she has a “responsibility” to fans and that “and you’re an idiot if you don’t know that.” Wow, is this girl surprisingly grounded and smart or what?

Kim Kardashian Is Proud To Be Armenian

Kim Kardashian has said she is “proud” to be Armenian and is happy she can identify with her fans. The 29-year-old’s father Robert Kardashian’s side of the family are Armenian and, despite being raised in LA, she is told Armenian Pulse about how proud she is of her heritage. “I am fourth-generation Armenian, born and raised in Los Angeles. My great-grandparents from my father’s side came to LA from Armenia right before the genocide. My great-grandfather was Armenian and my great-grandmother, Turkish-Armenian. My mother is English, so I am half-Armenian, but I was raised with a huge Armenian influence, always hearing stories of Armenia, eating Armenian food and celebrating Armenian holidays!” Not surprisingly, Kim has quite the following in Armenia.

Lil Wayne may be in prison, but he hasn’t forgotten the people who gave him the privileged lifestyle he abused and wasted to land him in there. He’d better just hope his three meals a day include virus protection … as in computer style. He’s launched a weekly blog for his fans from jail! Weezy’s blizzong, straight outta Rikers Island, comes with a countdown clock. And not only does Weezy thank you, but WeezyThanxYou.com. Weezy was taken into custody March 8. Art adorns the canvas that is Lil Wayne. “During my prison stint, I want my fans to know I love you,” he writes . “I want all of you to know I appreciate all the mail I get, and this is my way of saying thank you. Trying to tear down the past prohibits you from building up your future.” “So for my time here, my physical will be confined to the yard. My love and my spirit, however, know no boundaries.” Profound, L-Dubs. Profound . He promises he’s doing well and thinks of his kids (and presumably their many baby mamas ) often. He works out, he reads the Bible and he claims he’s going to be blogging for ESPN soon as well. He doesn’t mention exactly how, but whatevs.

Rihanna Records PSA For Leukaemia

Rihanna has lent her star power to a new public service announcement for charity. The “Umbrella” singer has joined forces with DKMS to raise awareness about leukaemia and is encouraging her fans to donate bone marrow to help save people who are affected. “Leukaemia kills more children in the US than any other disease. Many patients can be saved with a bone marrow transplant but until there are enough donors to save everyone, precious lives will be lost,” Rihanna explains. Fans can visit www.dkmsamericas.org for a registration kit or donate $65 to offset the cost of the kits.
