‘Captain America’ Clip: Chris Evans Is Skinny But Heroic

Evans himself presents exclusive sneak peek on MTV and MTV.com. By Kara Warner Chris Evans as Steve Rogers in “Captain America: The First Avenger” Photo: Paramount Pictures On Thursday (July 14), Captain America himself, Chris Evans, presented an exclusive new clip from his highly anticipated caped crusade “Captain America: The First Avenger” on MTV and MTV.com. The clip opens with fan-favorite actors Tommy Lee Jones and Stanley Tucci, in the roles of Colonel Chester Phillips and Dr. Abraham Erskine, walking through an Army base, watching a group of recruits in their basic-training exercises. Phillips is talking to Erskine about their new unimpressive recruit Steve Rogers (a skinny Evans, pre-super serum and superhero status), who looks to be having trouble with his jumping jacks. “When you brought a 90-pound asthmatic onto my Army base, I let it slide. I thought, ‘What the hell? Maybe he’d be useful to you like a gerbil,’ ” Phillips says to Erskine about Rogers, before stopping to watch him. “Look at that — he’s making me cry.” Phillips points out another stronger recruit jumping alongside Evans, who boasts impressive scores in every military test they’ve given him. Erskine calls him a bully, but Phillips doesn’t care. “You don’t win wars with niceness, Doctor; you win wars with guts,” he says before tossing a grenade into the group to see how they react. All the recruits scramble away to safety, except for Rogers, who jumps on the grenade himself to protect everyone else. The grenade turns out to be a dummy. “Is this a test?” Rogers asks his senior officers, after showcasing an early glimpse of the hero he is to become. “He’s still skinny,” Phillips says, seemingly unimpressed, to a smiling Erskine. ‘Harry Potter’ Stars Offer Advice To Younger Selves

‘Just enjoy every day of it,’ Rupert Grint tells his 12-year-old self. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Rupert Grint Photo: MTV News After eight films, 10 years, millions of fans won over and billions of dollars made, we could talk about the “Harry Potter” films and their famous castmembers forever. Their incredible evolution from kids to young adults, the number of esteemed adult British actors who made appearances in the films over the years, the undying love from a dedicated and loyal fanbase and so on. When MTV News sat down with Rupert Grint and Tom Felton recently, we asked them if, when looking back at the incredible journey they’ve been on for so long, they have any advice they would offer their young selves when they first joined the cast in 2000. “I should have a witty answer prepared, but I don’t,” Felton admitted. “I guess I’d just say, ‘Enjoy it and try to take in as much as you can.’ There’s nothing I’d change, to be honest with you. “I’ve had a good time over the years,” Felton added. “I wouldn’t change a day of it. [I’d] just take a bit more in. When you’re 12 or 13, you don’t care about anything. You just want to go home and play PlayStation, so there are definitely some memories I wished I’d taken in.” Grint echoed Felton’s sentiments: “Yeah, [I’d tell myself to] enjoy it,” he said. “I would never imagine 10 years from then we would be talking about the eighth film. I didn’t even see past two, really. It’s just been this gradual thing. Yeah, just enjoy every day of it.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘Harry Potter’ Stars Felt ‘Weird’ During Epilogue Scene

‘The images of me still haunt me,’ Rupert Grint tells MTV News of his flash-forward makeup. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Photo: Warner Bros. Though the story of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” ends with Harry’s battle against Voldemort, the real goodbye to the franchise comes through an epilogue sequence at the end of the movie. It’s a scene MTV has been talking to the cast of the “Harry Potter” films about for many years, especially after the creative heads decided to age the stars using makeup instead of cast a new set of actors. Now that the film is less than 24 hours away from being released, the stars were ready to open up about how they felt about the final “Harry Potter” scene. “With the way it ends, it definitely got balanced right, it was believable, but it was a weird scene to film,” Rupert Grint told MTV News. The actor better known as Ron Weasley had to shoot the epilogue sequence twice after director David Yates decided that the first attempt didn’t work as well. In the scene that is used in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” Ron has gained a pot belly and some stubble, but the first version also featured a serious receding hairline and some unflattering jowls. “The images of me still haunt me,” Grint admitted with a traumatized look on his face. “It was like this monster Donald Trump kind of mixture. It was scary.” His co-star Tom Felton agreed that Grint had not looked particularly attractive the first time, but he wasn’t entirely happy with how his character, Draco Malfoy, turned out either. His real-life girlfriend, Jade Olivia, played his onscreen wife in the sequence and he got to wear a muscle suit — “It was quite cool, I felt quite ripped” — but despite his “lovely goatee” and longer hairstyle, Felton wasn’t entirely satisfied with the results. Unfortunately for the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” star, he and Olivia “nailed it” the first time, and thus weren’t called back for reshoots. “They were pretty cruel, don’t you think?” Felton asked. “Nineteen years, they were supposed to base it on Jason Isaacs! I look like Jason Isaacs’ dad! I mean, come on.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Tom Felton Predicts Snape Will Win ‘Harry Potter’ World Cup

‘Everyone loves Snape. He has the greatest story of the lot,’ actor tells MTV News. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Tom Felton Photo: MTV News No matter how you feel about the mean-spirited Draco Malfoy, actor Tom Felton is well aware that the character he’s played for 10 years garners mixed reactions from die-hard “Harry Potter” fans. “Either people loved him or loved to hate him,” Felton told MTV News during a sit-down chat in preparation for the release of the wildly anticipated “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” Even Felton himself has conflicting feelings about how people react to Malfoy. “It’s weird — I never quite know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that Draco is generally … a pleasantly accepted character,” the star said, adding, “I always find it weird when 6-year-olds’ parents say, ‘You’re his favorite character!’ I’m always like, ‘I’m not sure if I should be. I’m not sure that reflects your great parenting skills!” But that doesn’t mean the MTV Movie Awards winner didn’t want his character to win the ongoing “Harry Potter” World Cup . For weeks, “Harry Potter” fans have participated in the bracket game, which will declare the best character in the saga. While Felton’s Draco did make it very far in the tournament before being bested by Final Four competitor Sirius Black (“That’s a little unfair, I think — don’t you?” the 23-year-old pondered to MTV’s Josh Horowitz), it wasn’t quite far enough to take the whole thing. “I’m bitter about not making it to the final post, but at the same time, I’m very grateful. It’s awesome,” the actor said. See the full bracket and vote! Still, Felton, despite being voted out, was more than willing to play along in the World Cup. When asked whom he thinks should advance past the Final Four (Hermione Granger vs. Severus Snape, Sirius Black vs. Ron Weasley) and win the whole thing, the actor said, with no hesitation, “Snape.” He continued, “Everyone loves Snape. He has the greatest story of the lot, I think, where you don’t know which he’s going to be the whole way.” While the “Harry Potter” World Cup picks the best character in the series, not just the final film, Felton still thinks Snape takes the cake. “He has a beautiful ending, doesn’t he?,” Felton asked, adding, “I didn’t expect that at all. It’s so nice to see this hard character Snape turn into this soft shell of a man.” In short, by Felton’s prediction, Severus Snape is “gonna take the crown, man.” Whether you agree or disagree with Felton’s pick, you can still vote throughout the day on Monday, July 11. Then, the winner of the “Harry Potter” World Cup will be announced later that evening during MTV’s live stream of the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” red-carpet premiere in New York. Britney Spears Offers A Glimpse At Femme Fatale Stage

‘It’s beautiful,’ pop star says in an online video as she sees the setup for the first time. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Getty Wondering what the Femme Fatale Tour will look like when it kicks off next week? Well, wonder no more! Britney Spears offered up a tease of the stage in a new video posted online. “Oh my God!” she squealed walking into the room seeing the setup for the first time. “I love it!” Spears walked the stage with her managers, giving fans a taste of what’s to come once the shows kick off June 16 in Sacramento, California, with opening act Nicki Minaj . The stage has it all: lights, video screens, a funky neon-colored floor, lasers, lifts and giant butterfly wings. “It’s beautiful,” Spears said as she listened to her music blast over the loud speakers and checked out the way the lights and video would play during what appears to be a reworked version of “Hold It Against Me” that included more electric guitar. “The Femme Fatale Tour will hopefully just be outrageously spectacular,” Spears recently said about the multi-city arena tour. “I’m just hoping that the choreographers will come up with just the most outrageous things, and I’m really excited. … This is one of the most excited I’ve been about a project in a really long time, so I can’t wait.” Minaj is just as excited about the tour, and she knows she has to go big to match the spectacle of a Britney show. “I’m just trying to put more theater on that stage. So much to me is music, but it’s also about putting on a show, so that’s my goal: to truly put on a show and incorporate theater and dance,” she explained. “I think it’s pretty easy to take it to the next level … I think I’m nowhere close to where I could be as far as my shows have been.” Spears’ longtime manager Larry Rudolph teased the tour’s theme months ago when he spoke to us in Las Vegas before Spears played a mini-set for an excited room of fans at the Palms Hotel and Casino. Even then, Rudolph knew Brit’s track “Till the World Ends” would play into the theme. ” ‘Till the World Ends’ keeps becoming a theme for us,” he said back in March. “The way we come up with a concept for a show like this is we sit with Britney, she talks to us about what she’s interested in and what excites her. We start with the songs on the album; we start with coming up with general, broad concepts. She tells us what interests her and excites her.” Will you check out the Britney Spears tour? ‘Harry Potter’ Stars Emma Watson, Tom Felton Say Goodbye

Will there be tears? ‘Maybe one or two, just little ones,’ Watson tells MTV News. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Watson Photo: MTV News The “Harry Potter” franchise comes to an end for fans on July 15, but for the stars of the best-selling franchise, the end came over a year and a half ago. “Potter” stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton hit the MTV Movie Awards red carpet Sunday to represent their series against previous victors “Twilight” but said that it was a bit surreal to be there supporting a series they finished filming so long ago. “It’s been over, like, a year and a half since we shot it, and I haven’t seen any of it,” Felton said. The final press rounds for “Deathly Hallows, Part 2” will be taking place this summer, something Watson called “very strange.” She said she would probably shed some more tears when the end came for “Harry Potter” all over again. “Maybe a few. Maybe one or two, just little ones,” she said. The “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” footage that was shown during the MTV Movie Awards was the first Felton had seen of any of the “Part 2” footage, which is impressive, because many trailers have been released in anticipation of the July 15 release date. CHECK OUT PHOTOS OF THE “POTTER” CAST BACKSTAGE AT THE MOVIE AWARDS. “I’m excited to see the sneak peek!” he said excitedly. “That’s half the reason I’m here tonight, I want to see the sneak peek.” Since Felton hasn’t seen any of the “Part 2” footage, he has no idea how he will look fighting the final battle on the big screen in 3-D. That is something else he said he’s very excited to see. “I’m not sure whether that will add or subtract to my screen presence, but we’ll see,” Felton said with a laugh. Tom Felton Has ‘Lots To Look Forward To’ In 2011

‘Harry Potter’ star branches out with ‘The Apparition’ and ‘Rise of the Apes,’ making him one of MTV News’ 11 for ’11. By Kara Warner Tom Felton Photo: MTV News Over the past week here at MTV News, we’ve been highlighting 11 people you’ll be hearing about in 2011. From Kim Kardashian’s plans to take over the pop world to self-proclaimed future “best artist of the year” Wiz Khalifa , we’ve selected a wide variety of folks who will be making waves and headlines this year. Now, MTV News is proud to recognize Tom Felton. Yes, he had a lot going for him in 2010, with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” and everything that comes along with promoting a billion-dollar film franchise. He also picked up his first Golden Popcorn trophy at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, where he was named Best Villain. When we caught up with Felton recently, we chatted about why this year will be even bigger than the last, what to expect from his performances in “Apparition” and “Rise of the Apes,” as well as an update on his budding music career. MTV : Have you seen any finished scenes from “Rise of the Apes” or “Apparition” yet? Tom Felton : They have been very, very tight with both films. I’ve seen maybe half a scene of “Apparition.” We were doing some for that, and it looked great. It looked really beautiful, the way it was shot. “Rise of the Apes” they’re keeping very much under lock and key, so I’m exceptionally excited. When I was there [during filming], I experienced so many fantastic performances around me. I’m excited to see it come to life onscreen. It’s going to be a great film. MTV : What about the “Deathly Hallows – Part 2” reshoots for that heavily hyped epilogue? Felton : Believe it or not, I got left off the hook. Apparently, the shot setup didn’t require my presence, so I was let off the hook at the last minute. I got all excited about going back, but I heard everything went swimmingly and everything is looking fantastic. MTV : You once mentioned a brilliant potential scene between you and Dan Radcliffe where you, as Draco and Harry, run and hug. You should make that happen. Felton : [ Laughs. ] I may get Dan around here one day this weekend and we may just shoot that ourselves and send it in. It needs to be seen, doesn’t it? MTV : Obviously, we here at MTV News have been fans of yours for quite some time , but it seems like a lot of other people have jumped on the Felton fan bandwagon. Do you feel a sense of that at all? Felton : I’ve been exceptionally lucky, with lots of aspects of my life. The people around me have been fantastic, and I feel we’re in a great position with some really exciting films to come out this year. I’m enjoying L.A. when I go there as well. That was a bit of a foreign town for me at first, but I’m thoroughly enjoying my time out there, so I’m looking forward to getting out there at some point next year. There’s lots to look forward to. MTV : What’s the latest with your music ? Felton : It’s all going very well. We’re currently in development with a few artists that we’re hoping to get out next year and just promote this idea that low-key music can be some of the best. I’m hoping to do some other recording later on in the year. It’s a massive passion project of mine, and the fans’ response has been fantastic, and MTV has been good to me there as well. I thoroughly appreciate that. MTV : What can you tell us about working with Ashley Greene (who is also one of our 11 for ’11 )? Felton : I was hugely excited about working with her [on “Apparition”], and her talent was exceptionally easy to notice very quickly. One of the first scenes I saw her do, she was in a very sort of panicky state and she jumped straight into it after lunch. It was amazing to see. I thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone on “Rise of the Apes” as well. Andy Serkis to me is one of the most memorable people I worked with this year. He’s truly amazing to watch and an absolute gentleman offscreen as well, which is always nice. I’ve been very lucky in working with nice people. MTV : Are you still playing golf with your “Potter” co-stars, Rupert Grint, James and Oliver Phelps? Felton : Yes, most certainly. We haven’t teed up in a while, but I’m definitely on for that. We occasionally swing the clubs. It’s always nice to get the Weasleys out for a quick round of golf. MTV : You guys should film that sometime. I’m sure fans would want to see it. Felton : It’s very funny you should say that. I don’t want to speak ahead, but we have actually done that, and I’m not sure if James is putting together a little video or if it’s going to end up on something — I haven’t seen anything yet — but I have a feeling that one day that video may make it to air. Tom Felton Laments Draco’s Kiss-Free ‘Deathly Hallows’

Draco Malfoy left out of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ love-fest. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Tom Felton in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” Photo: Warner Bros. It seems like all the kids in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” are getting some love and affection. Fleur and Bill finally get hitched. Hermione and Ron continue their courtship. Even Harry gets to play some kissy face, albeit as part of Ron’s Horcrux-infused hallucination. And then there’s Draco Malfoy. The conflicted young wizard doesn’t so much as get a chance to flirt, seeing as how he’s tied up at Malfoy Manor, plotting with Lord Voldemort to conquer the world. And according to Tom Felton, who plays Draco, that just isn’t fair. “Draco doesn’t get any sort of female attention! What’s that about? It is a little upsetting,” he said, laughing, in a recent interview with MTV News. “While the other teenagers are flirting and doing all sorts, Draco seems to be far too busy on some dark, evil mission.” Felton should take heart that despite his lack of onscreen loving, he’s got oodles of fans who swoon over his every move. Hollywood Crush has not only selected him as this week’s Hump Day Hottie, but also pegged him as the franchise’s sexiest actor . Ever the modest fellow, Felton laughed at the “completely untrue and unfathomable” idea that he’s a hotter commodity than Robert Pattinson . Nonetheless, Felton is undoubtedly picking up Draco’s girl-getting slack — a fact the Brit actor finds appropriate. “I think it’s quite suited,” he said. “If Draco is lost in a love, that could have taken him away from the task at hand.” Who do you think is the hottest “Harry Potter” star? ‘Harry Potter’ Star Tom Felton Says Farewell Scene Is All About ‘Presence And Look’

‘I had a monologue prepared, but time was short,’ actor joked about the ‘Potter’ epilogue. By Kara Warner Tom Felton Photo: MTV News While the recent trailers and TV spots for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” have proven to be sufficient teasers for Potterheads — showcasing a darker, more serious film and more harrowing action sequences — fans can’t seem to get enough news about the series’ much-discussed/hyped final scene: the epilogue. When MTV News caught up with celebrated villain and MTV Movie Award winner Tom Felton , we asked him if in his big final scene, which is set 19 years in the “Potter” future, Draco Malfoy closes the series with any sweeping dialogue. “I had a monologue prepared, but time was short,” he joked. “No, it was all in the presence and the look.” So Draco Malfoy’s farewell is all in his menacing presence? “This is the idea, that’s what they told me,” he said. “Hopefully that reads. It was a lot of fun.” Adding to the epilogue fun is the fact that Felton’s real-life girlfriend, “Potter” stunt assistant Jade Olivia, plays his wife in that final shot. “She was at first reluctant, but I pulled her arm and twisted it,” Felton told MTV at last month’s Movie Awards of convincing Olivia to step in and play Astoria Malfoy. “She was filming with me for three days at King’s Cross [railway station in the U.K.]. We were very excited.” “It gave me a chance to see what she’s going to look like in 19 years,” Felton added. “And if that’s what she looks like, I’m doing pretty well for myself,” he laughed. “But I look terrible ,” he said of his own aged visage. “The years have not been kind to me in the slightest. But what can I do? I’ve gotta just roll with it.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
