Britney Spears Will Be ‘Extra Nervous’ For Femme Fatale Tour Kickoff

Singer also divulges what she takes on tour with her to relax. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Getty After giving fans a taste of the Femme Fatale stage setup, Britney Spears is opening up some more about her tour, just days away from its big launch. In an interview airing Wednesday night (June 8), Spears says that she’s working hard to make sure that everything goes just right for the tour, which kicks off on June 16 with Nicki Minaj .”I’m really excited,” she told “Entertainment Tonight.” “I’m probably going to be extra nervous the day before. We’ve been working hard for, like, two months now, and everything’s coming together really good.” Spears has been working out and trying to get herself into tip-top shape so that she can get through the dance-heavy set. “It can be kind of [grueling], especially when you’re onstage and you’re on your eighth number,” she explained. “You get really winded and you’re like, ‘How can I do the rest of the show?’ But I’ve been training for a while and I actually — before I come to rehearsals — I’ve been working out and stuff like that so I won’t have that predicament. I run a lot.” Online footage shows the singer practicing dance numbers for “Up n’ Down,” “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” and “How I Roll,” which includes props and high-energy backup dancers. So, what does Britney need to stay grounded and relaxed on tour? “My pillow from home,” she said, giggling. “I have to have my pillow and I love watching old episodes of ‘Sex and the City.’ As long as I have all the seasons with me, I can go to and watch them and be entertained on the bus. That’s a must-have.” In addition to the tour, Spears is on the brink of releasing her latest video off the album, for the track “I Wanna Go.” She hooked up with director Chris Marrs Piliero for the clip. On the cover for the single, the former Mouseketeer appears smiling, her hair down with some funky multicolored highlights in it, wearing a barely there mini-shirt emblazoned with a skull with Mickey Mouse ears. Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Cover Is ‘Polarizing,’ Perez Hilton Says

‘She loves that people are talking about it,’ gossip blogger tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Perez Hilton and Lady Gaga Photo: Michael Caulfield/ Getty Images When Lady Gaga tweeted the Born This Way album art over the weekend, fans were a bit surprised by the cover photo, which features Gaga as a motorcycle/human hybrid. Was it a joke? Was it for real? Well, it was for real, and even days later, everyone’s still talking. “They were definitely divisive and it was a polarizing image,” Gaga’s pal Perez Hilton told MTV News. “I knew it would really get a reaction out of people, and that was her intent. She could have easily gone for something expected, but that’s the beautiful thing about Gaga.” The gossip blogger said the Nick Knight image’s intention was to get people buzzing, whether or not that buzz ended up in the Mother Monster’s favor. He even offered some insight into the photo’s message, which has been lost on some of Gaga’s Little Monsters. “She always wants to keep people guessing, and I think the cover works on many different levels,” he explained. “Literally, she was born that way, [like] some kind of mutant freak. There’s a lot of energy in that picture.” He adds that the vibe captured in the image will also find its way into the music on the May 23 album release. “There’s something very metal [about it and] ‘Judas’ [which was released last week] gives a taste of that dance/metal feeling,” he said. “Once the album comes out and they listen to the music, the artwork will make more sense. She loves that people are talking about it.” What do you think of the album cover? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Lady Gaga

Britney Spears ‘Comes Alive’ In The Studio, will.i.am Says

‘She was like a little kid,’ the ‘Big Fat Bass’ producer recalls to MTV News of giddy, ‘giggling’ Spears. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway will.i.am Photo: MTV News When will.i.am hit the studio with Britney Spears for her Femme Fatale track “Big Fat Bass,” the producer and Black Eyed Peas frontman said the singer was completely engrossed in the recording process. “[I discovered] her love for music. I never seen anyone, like, come alive, full of excitement and giggling and laughing behind the mic,” will recalled to MTV News. “She was like a little kid when she was recording the song and it just brought the whole atmosphere, it changed the whole atmosphere when someone really loves music. So it was great working with her.” Spears expressed a similar sentiment about recording her chart-topping album during her recent “I Am the Femme Fatale” MTV special , which featured a cameo by will.i.am, who was finishing up the party track at the time. “When you’re in the studio, you’re just really focused, you’re really in your head and in your ears and on the notes,” she explains in the show. “And when you’re performing, it’s more a connection on the outside and more of — like a tiger and more in your body.” Both Brit and will are now industry vets so the BEP singer said he didn’t have much advice for the star. “When someone’s excited to go out and just do it, what advice? You don’t need no advice. She’s just turned on right now. She is [like], ‘I like this part right here.’ When I say [on the song], ‘You all better get ready for the kick drum,’ she was already anticipating what she was going to do onstage when that beat broke down,” he explained. “Adding that type of perspective … when we we’re recording it, you don’t need to give nobody [like Britney] advice.” What’s your favorite Femme Fatale track? Adele Back At #1 On Billboard Chart, Pushing Britney Spears To #2

Spears drops to #2 as sales of Femme Fatale trail off in second week. By Gil Kaufman Adele’s 21 Photo: Columbia Records It’s a bit early to call it a changing of the guard, but British songbird Adele will make a strong case that she is a major force to be reckoned with on the Billboard charts next week when her album 21 retakes the #1 spot. Thanks to sales of 88,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan, Adele pulls the feat off — her fourth non-consecutive week at #1 since the album’s release in late February — while forcing last week’s #1, Britney Spears ‘ Femme Fatale , down to #2. Spears’ highly anticipated new effort suffers a steep drop-off in its second chart cycle , plunging 73 percent on sales of 75,000, for a two-week total of 352,000. In contrast, Adele has pushed past the 1 million mark in seven weeks to notch the best-selling album of 2011 to date. Also losing a significant amount (70 percent) of business in its second week is rapper Wiz Khalifa ‘s Rolling Papers , which falls three spots to #5 on sales of 59,000. Masked rap-rock crew Hollywood Undead scored their best chart debut ever with American Tragedy, which comes in at #4 (66,000), while little-known metalers Asking Alexandria come in at #9 on sales of 31,000. The rest of the top 10: Radiohead , King of Limbs (#3, 67,000); Chris Brown , F.A.M.E. (#6, 51,000); the iTunes Songs for Japan compilation (#7, 51,000); Mumford & Sons ‘ Sigh No More (#8, 34,000); and Kirk Franklin ‘s Hello Fear (#10, 31,000). Jennifer Hudson ‘s I Remember Me slips four spots to #11 as sales dip 46 percent to 31,000, while Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and former Band member Robbie Robertson scores a #13 debut (22,000) for How to Become Clairvoyant, his first studio album in 13 years.
