Ali Fedotowsky, who starred on The Bachelorette two summers ago, recently offered her views on who Emily Maynard should pick and as her lifelong mate. “Okay, I keep going back and forth. Like, literally, I’ve changed my mind 500 times,” Ali said of Emily’s remaining aspiring husbands, of whom four remain. While Ali first thought it was either Jef Holm or Arie Luyendyk, Jr., she now says she’s ruled out Arie and doesn’t think Jef is ready to be Ricki’s stepfather. She likens Emily and Jef to herself and Chris Lambton, the runner-up to Roberto Martinez (who she broke up with after an 18 month-engagement) in 2010. “This is a confusing season! She keeps saying that her relationship with Jef is slow to develop – that’s what I always used to say about Chris,” says Ali . “I mean, Chris is a great guy, such an awesome guy. But that’s like code on The Bachelorette for ‘we’re really just not romantically into each other.’” Which brings her to the pick: “If I had to guess right now, I’m going back to Sean Lowe ,” the insurance salesman from Texas who moonlights as a male model, she finally answered. The Bachelorette spoilers offer some hints as to who makes it past the hometown dates, but as far as her final rose recipient, all bets are still off! Whom do you think Emily should end up with?
Following a private battle with acute myeloid leukemia, Nora Ephron passed away at the age of 71 yesterday. Having been responsible for some of the most beloved romantic comedies of all time ( Sleepless in Seattle , When Harry Met Sally ), Ephron was known and admired by a number of Hollywood’s most respected stars, many of whom have released statements in regard to the sad news. Billy Crystal : “I am very sad to learn of Nora’s passing. She was a brilliant writer and humorist. Being her Harry to Meg’s Sally will always have a special place in my heart. I was very lucky to get to say her words.” Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson : “Nora Ephron was a journalist/artist who knew what was important to know; how things really worked, what was worthwhile, who was fascinating and why… At a dinner table and on a film set she lifted us all with wisdom and wit mixed with love for us and love for life. Rita and I are so very sad to lose our friend who brought so much joy to all who were lucky enough to know her.” Nicole Kidman : “She was so smart, warm and funny. I am so grateful that she was my friend and we had the opportunity to work together. My thoughts and love are with her family at this time. I will never forget the dinners, games and laughter we all share.”
Fifty Shades of Grey is a must-read for women everywhere. Apparently, the EL James novel is also making S&M and bondage gear a must-buy for some. The buzzed-about book has left unassuming New York women so feverish, they’ve been snapping up the tools and toys that the hunky Christian Grey favors. They’re even slipping into stores and asking for bondage material – the type of natural filament rope used in the trilogy – the New York Post reports. “Oh, we’ve been selling rope to women,” says Clifton Kahn, owner of Lexington Hardware on the Upper East Side. “I’d say tenfold more rope than usual.” “The women are definitely buying, and it’s still continuing.” Apparently tying someone up isn’t expensive. The store’s most popular item is soft-cotton “clothes line” rope, which retails at a bargain $5 for 50 feet. Tarzian Hardware in Park Slope, Brooklyn, has also seen the trend. “It’s usually men buying rope, but women, they’ve been coming in the last few months,” the manager told the newspaper. “I’ve actually read the book. So when the women began buying rope, it was kind of like, ‘Hmmm, that does seem unusual.’” While New Yorkers act out their S&M fantasies, casting the movie roles of Christian and Anastasia has become an online fantasy game of sorts this spring. Some stars, such as Ian Somerhalder , have expressed interest in the film themselves. Who can you see as the two leads? Vote in our polls below! Who should play Christian? Who should play Ana?
It’s bad enough that Blake Lively doesn’t show any skin in the upcoming Oliver Stone thriller Savages (2012). But wait, it gets worse- not only did Blake refuse to go bare for a threesome scene with co-stars Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson , she and co-star Salma Hayek suggested that the dudes drop their drawers instead. But(t) don’t take it from us. Take it from an interview Blake and Salma did with Access Hollywood earlier this month… “ Yeah, it was definitely a choice on my part, ” Blake said when asked about her lack of nudity in the film. ” That’s a nice thing that you don’t have to see all the parts, but it made… ” “ It made sense for the guys, ” Hayek chimed in. “’ Do you want to see some butts? Well, show yours! ’” The interview goes on, but all Skin Central heard after that was Blake and Salma laughing at us, so we won’t recount it here. At least Salma Hayek’ s been nude in the past- check out her full frontal skinny dip in Ask The Dust (2006) and her SKINtillating lesbian scene in Frida (2002) right here at MrSkin.com!

German artist Heinz Schulz-Neudamm created the poster for the 1927 German Expressionist science-fiction film Metropolis by Fritz Lang. A collector bought the futuristic poster for a record $690,000 back in 2005, which is still a record. The poster has been assigned a $250,000 value in a bankruptcy filing by its current owner Kenneth Schacter, according to The Guardian, but it went up for sale with an $850,000 list price in March and some say it could be the first poster to sell for $1 million. Schulz-Neudamm’s painting of the artificial woman, or the Robot, is used by a mad scientist to seduce an race of workers in a totalitarian futuristic urban city. Made in Germany during the Weimar Period, Metropolis is set in the year 2026 in a dystopian society in which a wealthy elite rules from vast tower complexes, oppressing the workers who live in the depths below. The silent film was written by Lang and his wife Thea Von Harbou, and starred Brigitte Helm, Gustav Fröhlich, Alfred Abel and Rudolf Klein-Rogge. In 2008, a print of Lang’s original cut of the film was found in Argentina. The poster is the film’s most familiar promotional image, though at the time others were used as well for its promotion. The British actor was instrumental in providing Peter Parker with a skateboard and some much-needed wit in the ‘Amazing’ reboot. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Andrew Garfield in “Amazing Spider-Man” Photo: Among his many powers, Spider-Man has one “Amazing” gift that perhaps you don’t already know about: He is a skilled skateboarder. Andrew Garfield, the British actor filling out Peter Parker’s shoes in director Marc Webb’s “Amazing Spider-Man,” brought many ideas to the superhero reboot’s table, including his character’s proficiency with a skateboard. Speaking with MTV News, Garfield said that “a lot changed” over the course of shooting “Spider-Man,” including his very own idea to have Spidey wield a board at numerous points throughout the movie. “It was my idea that this iteration of Peter would skateboard, maybe because I skateboarded when I was a kid, and it’s something personal to me,” the actor said at the “Amazing Spider-Man” press junket. “It linked in so nicely with being able to activate the powers in a new way.” Garfield teamed up with director Spike Jonze’s Girl and Chocolate Skateboards and persuaded the powers that be to include scenes of Peter messing around with skateboards, adding some levity to an otherwise “heavy” script. “What’s always been important about Spider-Man to me is the lightness, the humor and the enjoyment of a teenage kid getting these powers. In reality, what would happen?” he said. “We pitched the idea to [the Spider-Man producers] and they shot it. I thought that was awesome.” Another scene that changed due to Garfield’s input: the infamous carjacking sequence that sees Peter in full Spidey regalia for the first time, webbing up and taunting a criminal with lots of laughs and very little restraint. “That was important to me, in terms of the humor, the wit, finding the power of anonymity,” he said. “That was a fun night, because it was all improvised and free. There was nothing scripted about that. That was awesome.” Overall, Garfield found the entirety of “Spider-Man” to be “a forever evolving process,” thanks in large to Webb’s place at the head of the film. “It was all changing,” said the actor. “Marc set up an environment where we could play, and that was really, really nice.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Amazing Spider-Man.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . ‘We created everything from a fictional place,’ Tatum says, responding to allegations by former stripper co-workers. By Jocelyn Vena Channing Tatum in “Magic Mike” Photo: Channing Tatum is reacting to a group of male dancers who allege that the actor quite literally stole their moves for his new movie, “Magic Mike,” which takes place in the shirtless world of male strippers. Two male dancers, Thomas “Awesome” Austin and London Steele, who danced with Tatum while he was a stripper in Florida, told TMZ last week that the experiences in the film, and even Tatum’s character’s name (Magic Mike), are all their own. Austin told the website, “He only danced for four months. How many events could have happened to him?” He added that even Tatum’s move in the film, the Hot Seat, is all his own. Director Steven Soderbergh has said that the film is loosely based on Tatum’s experiences as a male dancer. And in a new interview, Tatum is opening up about the claims against him. “Those guys have been trying to make money off of me since I got into this business,” Tatum told reporters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Look, there’s nothing that’s factual in this whole movie other than that I was an 18-year-old kid and went into this world and I dropped out of college from playing football and was living on my sister’s couch. There’s not one character that I took from my real life; this is just a world that I went into, and I had a perspective on. And we created everything from a fictional place.” “Magic Mike” opens Friday, and Tatum is going into opening week with no ill will for his former co-workers. “I don’t want to say anything bad about them because they’re part of the reason why I think this world is so interesting,” he said. “They’re very interesting, intriguing and bizarre characters, and I’m thankful for weird people out there. They’re some of the most creative people.” The June 29 film release also stars “True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello, “White Collar” star Matt Bomer and Matthew McConaughey. In an interview with MTV News, Tatum recalled how the film came out of a conversation he had with Soderbergh. “I was having a beer with Soderbergh — we were doing a movie together — and I told him about [my past stripping],” he said. “I’d been doing it for eight months of my life when I was, like, 18 or 19, and he said, ‘We gotta make a movie out of that.’ And I was like, ‘Why? Why do we need to do that?’ And he said, ‘I’ve never seen that world on film before.’ And then we really started talking about that, and we thought it would be really hilarious but still grounded in reality.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Magic Mike.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
