THG Asks: Will Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ Marriage Last?

Welcome to THG Asks, a fun feature in which two of our celebrity gossip experts debate topical issues in the entertainment world and you decide who wrote the winning argument! Today, THG Asks : Will Kim Kardashian’s marriage last? YES by Free Britney Kim Kardashian’s wedding was scripted nonsense. We know this. That is merely who Kim Kardashian is, though: A bland, better-than-average looking chick makes a living from her celeb status despite being expressionless as drywall and devoid of talent. Nowhere in that job description does she have to be incapable of love. I’ll be the first to ridicule Kim’s shameless attempt to kash in on any thing. When I read that Kris Humphries’ family was appalled at the spectacle of the wedding, I wasn’t the least but surprised. But that’s precisely why it WILL last. No one would marry Kim Kardashian for her fame (and become a joke in the process). He’s got his own money (and she’s got a prenup). He’s in it for the only reason anybody could possibly put up with this 24/7/365 charde: Kim’s heart. Congrats. Bring on the sex tape. A moment Kim and Kris will never forget … thanks to E! NO CHANCE by Hilton Hater There’s no way Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries will last. Here’s why: The power forward is a free agent. Coming off a career season, it’s unlikely New Jersey (his previous employer) will match his contract demands. Neither will any other team in a major market. The Los Angeles Lakers have plenty of size; the Knicks are keeping their salary cap options open for Chris Paul or Dwight Howard; Miami is enough of a circus without employing Humphries in the same city that is now also home to Reggie Bush ; Blake Griffin plays the same position for the Clippers. I foresee Humphries going someplace like Houston, or maybe Utah. And, come on, you can’t honestly say Kim Kardashian will stay with a man who lives outside an entertainment news hot spot. It’s unlikely Star Magazine could even find Salt Lake City on a map. Indeed, at some point, the NBA lockout will end and, with it, so will this farce of a marriage. And we all know what that means: a divorce special on E! THG Asks you … will it last?

Christina Aguilera Irate Over Child Abuse Claim, Lawyer Releases Statement

Christina Aguilera is positively furious, and for very good reason. Earlier in the week, the website MediaTakeOut published a picture of the singer’s son and wrote the headline: “CHILD ABUSE???? CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S SON IS PHOTO’D WITH A BLACK EYE!!!” Aguilera, who remained above the fray when called out by Kelly Osbourne , didn’t sit idly by in the face of such an accusation and called upon her lawyer to issue a statement. Wrote Eric Greenspan to the site in question: “Christina is a wonderful mother and was not present in the park when Max fell and hurt himself… To imply that she had something to do with this incident, without any investigation on your part whatsoever, is reckless and unconscionable.” The attorney then threatened a lawsuit and concluded: “HAVE YOU NO SHAME!!!!” MediaTakeOut has since changed the headline. Idiots. [Photo: WENN.com]

Presenting: One Second of The Hunger Games!

MTV has given fans their very first look at Jennifer Lawrence in the role of Katniss Everdeen. Their first first, very brief look, that is. The Hunger Games Teaser Of course, Entertainment Weekly has provided us with a still shot of Lawrence in this beloved role. Check out that magazine shot now ! The Hunger Games comes out on March 23.

‘Blackthorn’ Trailer: Sam Shepard Continues the Story of Butch Cassidy

I remember reading that Sam Shepard was helping revive Butch Cassidy — the character so famously played by Paul Newman in George Roy Hill’s benchmark 1969 western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid — in Mateo Gil’s new western called Blackthorn. (Mateo Gil co-wrote The Sea Inside and Abre Los Ojos with Alejandro Amenábar.) But I hadn’t thought about the film much at all until the first US trailer… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 24/08/2011 23:30 Number of articles : 2

Tom Cruise: Scared of Katie Holmes!

Who knew Katie Holmes had such a horrifying streak? After screening her latest flick, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark , for her husband Tom Cruise recently, Katie said it left the actor sufficiently spooked. Holmes said Cruise had to watch another film before retiring for the evening. “I’m not sure what he watched … Maybe The Sound of Music?” Our partner site, Movie Fanatic, just saw Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (follow the above link for more on the film) and can confirm that yes, it is scary. Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro tells the story of a modern family living in an old Rhode Island mansion that has secrets buried deep below the ground. Holmes, a fan of the classics from the horror genre, admits that she appreciated del Toro’s take on the steadfast haunted-house movie storyline. She also liked that the film allowed her to be a mother figure to a young daughter, just like she is in real life to Suri Cruise . She’s five now. Five! [Photo: WENN.com]

Our Idiot Interviews: Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks

A pair of THG favorites are about to hit the big screen together, as Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks anchor the cast of Our Idiot Brother , which comes out on Friday. The title pretty much makes it clear, but the film centers around Rudd’s Ned, the runt of a beautiful litter that includes sisters played by Banks, Emily Mortimer and Zooey Deschanel. The former told Movie Fanatic that she can relate to the concept: “I am the oldest, bossiest daughter of a family of four… I have a 26-year-old brother who sells pizza and maybe something else while delivering those pizzas.” Our Idiot Brother Trailer Rudd, meanwhile, said he could relate to one aspect of the film in particular: playing charades. “Despite all of the battling and fighting, we come together,” the actor said. “It was such an emotionally charged moment and scene. It was kind of heartbreaking, because at different points we all sometimes – as hard as you can be – you just want to play charades with your family, but you’re unable to.” For more from Rudd, read his full interview now.

Zoe Saldana Looks Gorgeous In Gold At ‘Colombiana’ Premiere [PHOTOS]

Go here to see the original:

Zoe Saldana’s “Colombiana” movie debuted in Miami yesterday. Wearing a gorgeous gold-embellished dress by Balmain with a plunging neckline and flowing maxi hemline, Zoe strutted the red carpet looking every bit the opposite of the kick-ass character she plays in the film, Cataleya. We think she looks stunning, save for the shoes (poor choice). Atom Egoyan-Helmed West Memphis 3 Feature Film on Tap for Spring

It seemed inevitable that Hollywood would turn its gaze on the incredibly dramatic tale of Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, and Jason Baldwinthe, the men known as the West Memphis 3 who were freed today after spending 18 years serving time for the 1993 murders of three young boys. But this isn’t an opportunistic stroke of timing; the film, which will be directed by Atom Egoyan, has been in development since 2006. More after the jump.

‘Texas Killing Fields’ English-Language Trailer

The last time we saw footage from Texas Killing Fields, we were looking at a trailer dubbed into Italian [1]. Now we’ve got a somewhat different trailer in English, which will give you a much better idea of what to expect from the film. Item number one: Sam Worthington’s pretty dodgy Texas accent. Next: a tone that really does seem more like a TV police procedural than a feature film to stand up against… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 18/08/2011 21:27 Number of articles : 2
