‘Harry Potter’ Ending Is ‘Emotional,’ Jamie Campbell Bower Says

Bower says being part of the franchise is ‘a real honor.’ By Jocelyn Vena Jamie Campbell Bower Photo: MTV News This June, “Harry Potter” fans will bid the series a final fond farewell as “Deathly Hallows, Part 2” hits theaters. With “Part 1” already out on DVD and Harry Potter: The Exhibition at the Discovery Times Square building in New York City, the series is not going out quietly. One of the series’ stars, Jamie Campbell Bower, admits he feels lucky to have been a piece of that very large puzzle. “I was only on set for a very short period of time, and I only play a very small role in the film,” he told MTV News when he stopped by to talk about his new Starz series “Camelot.” “I suppose, you know, just for me personally, being able to be involved in something that is taking place in England for 10 years and something that has given people jobs and a great boost to the British film industry, that was a real honor.” Bower has appeared in two of the iconic films (both parts of “Deathly Hallows”), and he said that seeing it all come to an end has even more meaning for the film’s principal stars, who have been there since day one. “For the other guys in it, again, it’s been a part of their lives for 10 years, and that’s a big deal. I suppose maybe they didn’t see it as a job, it just sort of became their daily life: Go to school, do your job and go home and have your fish and chips — ’cause we all eat fish and chips,” he joked. “I can imagine it’s exciting for them and emotional as well.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Lily Collins ‘Grateful’ For ‘Mortal Instruments’ Fan Support

‘If they don’t necessarily see you in the part, that can be an issue,’ actress tells MTV News of book series’ loyal readers. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Lilly Collins at WonderCon 2011 Photo: Getty Images Among the movie-obsessed here at MTV News, there is always a lot of talk about highly anticipated upcoming films. Naturally, the summer blockbusters garner their fair share of enthusiasm, but recently, a lot of talk has turned toward the much-buzzed-about book-to-screen adaptations of young adult novels such as “The Hunger Games” and “The Mortal Instruments.” Speaking to director Scott Stewart’s adaptation of “Mortal Instruments,” MTV News recently caught up with lucky actress Lily Collins, who will portray fan-favorite protagonist Clarissa “Clary” Fray, about what makes the film and book series so special. “It’s an amazing series of books,” Collins gushed to MTV News at WonderCon. “Cassandra Clare’s books are incredible. I’m a huge fan myself, so to be able to play the heroine I love is incredible. It’s a story based on a young woman, an empowered young woman [who is] confident and determined, and she ends up surprising everyone with her abilities,” Collins explained. “I think it’s incredible for the story to be about a young girl and not one that is just a girl in the story. It really is her story.” Collins said she is incredibly excited and grateful to everyone who has offered their support of her landing the role. “To have the support of Scott [Stewart] and Clint Culpepper at Screen Gems and everyone, it means a lot that they saw something in me from ‘Priest,’ ” she said. “The fans have responded really, really positively, which is all you can ask for, because when you cast a heroine of a series of books that people are already fans of, if they don’t necessarily see you in the part, that can be an issue, so I feel very grateful to them.” “Instruments” author Cassandra Clare has also issued her stamp of approval. “I love Lily Collins,” she recently gushed in an online video. Keanu Reeves Reveals ‘Bill And Ted 3’ Plot Details

‘I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft,’ Reeves tells MTV News of script for slacker sequel. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Keanu Reeves Photo: MTV News Let’s travel back in time to September 2010 and the Toronto Film Festival, when Keanu Reeves told us he was most certainly not joking about jump-starting a third “Bill and Ted” movie — 20 years after the last one hit theaters. In fact, he said, original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon were “going to try and see if they can write something.” Flash-forward to the present day and a most excellent update on their progress, which Reeves kicked to us while promoting his indie comedy “Henry’s Crime.” “I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft,” he said on Monday (April 4), adding with a laugh, “No pressure, guys!” Back in September, Reeves dished nothing but wacky jokes about what the project might actually look like — a 3-D black-and-white sequel co-directed by Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and Werner Herzog? — but this time around the 46-year-old actor gave us some meaty clues about the film’s potential plot (albeit with a few caveats). “I know a little bit. But I don’t know — the fellas went off and cooked it up,” he explained. “I don’t know what happened when they put the elements together.” That said, Reeves went on to describe how the story arc might fit into the overall franchise mythology. “When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened,” he said. “So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back,” he added before trailing off. So it seems that “Bill and Ted 3” (or whatever it ends up being called) will focus on the Wyld Stallyns’s attempts to live up to the hype that Rufus (George Carlin) first revealed in the 1989 original. Perhaps they’re running out of time. After all, Bill (Alex Winter) and Reeves’ Ted will be approaching 50 in the third film, a prospect that had Reeves laughing, “That’s pretty excellent!” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

‘Source Code’: Unresolved Questions Answered

Jake Gyllenhaal and director Duncan Jones explain the sci-fi thriller’s trickier moments By Eric Ditzian, with additional reporting by Kara Warner Jake Gyllenhaal in “Source Code” Photo: Summit Entertainment If you’re anything like us, you walked out of “Source Code” with a whole lot of questions on your mind. What exactly is this computer code that sends Jake Gyllenhaal back into the past, in another man’s body? What is the true implication of the film’s twisty ending? With these questions still swirling in our heads, we hit up Gyllenhaal and director Duncan Jones for some answers. (Needless to say, major spoilers exist below). Where Does The Source Code Take Place? So the Source Code is a government computer program that allows Gyllenhaal’s Captain Colter Stevens to jump into another man’s body — a guy named Sean Fentressis, who died in a terrorist train bombing — to experience the final eight minutes of his life in an attempt to prevent the terrorist from detonating a second bomb. But is what Gyllenhaal experiences just a computer simulation? Or is it actually real? “The idea is that it’s a simulator, but it actually opens up access to a parallel reality,” Jones explained. “It literally creates new realities where things can happen in very different ways. Every time Colter is sent into the Source Code, they’re creating a new reality where a new terrorist event occurs. So in a sense, every time Colter fails, they actually created a new terrorist event.” Why’d They Make The Terrorist a Lone Gunman? As Gyllenhaal searches the train for the bomber, he finds himself engaging in more than a little bit of racial profiling. As it turns out, the true culprit is not some clich

Robert Pattinson Fumes Over ‘Breaking Dawn’ Photo Leak

‘Water for Elephants’ star calls for ‘the ‘Twilight’ troops to mobilize.’ By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Twihards, your call to action for retribution and justice has come. And, the call, by the way, is coming from none other than Robert Pattinson . When MTV News caught up with “Twilight” star Pattinson on Sunday, a hot topic was those leaked ” Breaking Dawn ” photos that hit the Web (and were swiftly taken down), and the star was obviously fuming mad about the whole thing. “It’s just ridiculous. I literally can’t believe that it happened,” Pattinson said regarding the photos, which show his character, Edward, and Bella (Kristen Stewart) on their honeymoon and Bella going through what appears to be her vampire transformation. Pattinson, who said he wanted to speak to us about the leaked pictures “because MTV seemed like the right place to do it,” immediately asked for help from the series’ most hard-core — and equally ticked-off — fans. “I want the ‘Twilight’ troops to mobilize, all the good fans, and find out who these little sh–s are and just hack into their computers and destroy them,” RPattz said with a laugh, later adding, “I’m being genuinely serious, ‘Twilight’ fans … Punish them.” In fact, the 24-year-old star — who is promoting his latest flick, the period drama “Water for Elephants” — then asked Twihards to do him another favor while they are bringing down the culprits: “Find out who hacked into my e-mail address, too, and destroy them,” he urged. It wasn’t just the content of the leaked images that bothered Pattinson so much — “It’s raw footage: It’s not even what people are going to see,” he noted — but the intention behind it. “Why do this maliciously? You’re not a fan. You’re just a di–,” he said, once again with a laugh, adding,”That’s all there is to it. “I’d understand it more if they sold the stuff,” he continued, referring to those who pulled the online stunt. “But, it’s like, ‘Oh, you just want to be annoying?’ ” At one point, with an exasperated sigh, the actor called the people responsible for the leaks “idiots.” Pattinson also said he was angry on behalf of all of those who are currently working on the final two installments of the wildly popular saga, saying the leaks are frustrating “especially when you’ve been working on something for eight months.” “It’s an exciting movie, and everything is so different, and a lot of people have worked really, really hard.” Of course, Pattinson wasn’t the only one upset by the leak. On Friday, Summit Entertainment, “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer, “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon and producer Wyck Godfrey released a statement on Facebook that read, “As some of you may know, pictures and screen grabs of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ as a work in progress have leaked on the Internet. We are extremely proud of this film and also extremely heartbroken to see it out there at this stage. The film and these images are not yet ready or in their proper context. They were illegally obtained and their early dissemination is deeply upsetting to the actors, the filmmakers and Summit who are working so hard to bring these movies to fruition to you in November 2011 and November 2012.” The message went on to urge, “Please, for those who are posting, stop. And please, though the temptation is high, don’t view or pass on these images. Wait for the film in its beautiful, finished entirety to thrill you.” Luckily, the photos, which have mostly been all but erased from the Web, didn’t even reach Pattinson. The star, who revealed that he and Stewart haven’t filmed their “Breaking Dawn” wedding scene yet, nor has he seen Bella’s wedding dress , noted, “I didn’t even see the leaks.” Sound off about the leaked “Breaking Dawn” photos in the comments section below. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Calls ‘Transformers’ Gig ‘A Roller Coaster’

‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ star talks at CinemaCon about working with director Michael Bay. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Photo: Getty Images Now that we’ve entered the month of April, it seems justifiable to start hyping this summer’s potential blockbusters. Not that we haven’t been already, but it feels like the big summer movies are just around the corner — one of those being the highly anticipated “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” MTV News caught up with the franchise’s new leading lady, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, recently at CinemaCon to discuss her experience on the film and getting caught up in director Michael Bay’s workaholic web. “I’ve seen the last two movies, so I kind of knew what I was getting into, but obviously not at all as well,” Whiteley said of being a bit overwhelmed by the big movie experience. “It was a crazy opportunity that was handed to me, and I spent seven months making the movie with a great cast and a great director, and it’s been a roller coaster of a lifetime for sure,” she said. “I’m still on it, I don’t know if I’m going to get off anytime soon.” Regarding Bay, Whiteley described him as a “character” with lots of energy: “I think throughout my whole career, I’ve never seen anybody work so hard in my whole life,” she said. “He’s literally done these ‘Transformers’ movies for six years now. As cast, we do the filming for seven months, then he goes into the edit room and edits it for six months, then he comes out of the edit room and promotes it, and by the time he’s finished that, he’s prepping the next one,” she explained. “It’s amazing to see how dedicated he is to these films.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
