Justin Bieber ‘Never Say Never’ Ad To Air During ‘Glee’ Super Bowl 2011 Episode

Who says that young girls don’t care about Super Bowl Sunday? This year there’s a big reason for tweens, teens and non-football fans to get in on the action. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new spot for Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” 3-D flick will run during the super special post-Super Bowl episode of “Glee.” The 30-second commercial is set to air during the February 6 episode of the hit Fox comedy. The film opens one week later, on Valentine’s Day weekend. THR further reports that the ad will be shown during “Glee” and not the Super Bowl proper since the film’s target demographic is more likely to tune in to the musical TV show than the big game. This is not the first time Bieber has teamed up with a major sporting event to support a release. During Game 3 of last year’s World Series, the teen pop star debuted a mini-music video for the unplugged version of his song “Never Say Never” to promote his acoustic album, My Worlds Acoustic. Bieber’s flick isn’t the only movie taking advantage of the Super Bowl’s massive viewership. Several blockbusters will air commercials on Fox sometime during the evening, whether it’s preshow, during the game or, in Bieber’s case, postshow. It reportedly costs about $3 million for 30 seconds of airtime on the big night. Variety reports that the movies “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” “Super 8,” “Thor,” “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” “Cowboys and Aliens,” “Priest,” “Kung Fu Panda 2,” “Just Go With It,” “Battle: Los Angeles,” “Limitless,” “Rango” and “The Eagle” all will have commercials broadcast during Super Bowl Sunday.

Will Smith Considering ‘Annie’ Reboot Starring Willow

Jay-Z reportedly is in talks to work on the music for the film. By Gil Kaufman Willow Smith Photo: Vittorio Zunino Celotto/ Getty Images Wearing his producer hat, Will Smith has already successfully rebooted one movie franchise, “The Karate Kid,” with son Jaden in the lead role, and now the veteran star reportedly has his eye on reviving another iconic film for daughter Willow. According to Variety , Smith is in discussions with Sony about potentially remaking the 1982 movie musical “Annie” with Willow starring as the adorable singing orphan. Few details are available about the project, which is in the early development stages, but the magazine reports that Jay-Z — who signed the preteen “Whip My Hair” singer to his Roc Nation label last year — is in talks to work on music for the film. It was unclear at press time if the movie would be a contemporary update of the story, which originated in 1924 as the comic strip “Little Orphan Annie,” then morphed into a hit Broadway musical in 1977 before being taken to the big screen by director John Huston. The original film starred Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks, Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan, Bernadette Peters as Lily St. Regis and newcomer Aileen Quinn as Annie. The movie takes place during the Great Depression and finds redheaded cutie pie Annie living in an orphanage run by the cruel drunk Miss Hannigan. She is later adopted by billionaire “Daddy” Warbucks and treated to the lush life after a childhood filled with struggle. In addition to being Willow’s musical mentor, Jay has a long history with the “Annie” franchise. He sampled the iconic song “Hard Knock Life” from the musical for his Grammy-nominated 1998 single, “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” from the Vol. 2 … Hard Knock Life album. The hip-hop mogul has spoken about how he connected with the rags-to-riches story of the musical’s grade-school star, telling NPR last year that he wrote a personal letter to the tune’s composers describing how much “Annie” meant to him growing up while asking for permission to sample it. Variety hinted that, considering Sony banked more than $350 million on “The Karate Kid” last summer, it seems likely the studio will seriously consider the “Annie” re-do. Jennifer Lopez’s ‘American Idol’ Past: A Look Back

J.Lo first surfaced on season six as a mentor, drawing on her dance roots to motivate ‘Idol’ wannabes. By Eric Ditzian “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez Photo: Tony Duran / FOX Who could have predicted that when Jennifer Lopez appeared on “American Idol” in 2007 and pronounced her love for the infamous Sanjaya Malakar that the diva-turned-guest mentor would one day return to the reality competition? But return she has, this time as a judge. As we prepare for her debut Wednesday night (January 19), alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler , we’re taking a look back at J.Lo’s season-six “Idol” appearance, looking for clues as to how she’ll handle the tricky task of being both entertaining and instructive in the course of a seconds-long sound bite. Lopez stepped into “Idol” world for Latin night, when there were eight contestants still vying for the crown. What shines through most during her rehearsals with the singers is her desire to be supportive. When Haley Scarnato struggled to inject some passion into her performance, Lopez invited beat-boxing impresario Blake Lewis into the room to provide some energy. And instead of slamming Phil Stacey for butchering Santana’s “Maria Maria,” she urged him to imagine singing to someone as a way to connect with the emotional core of the tune. “The songs have to mean something,” Lopez explained. “They have to come from somewhere. Otherwise you just leave people feeling vacant.” That’s a key insight, even if it’s a bit obvious, and it’ll bear repeating again and again as the new contestants move onto increasingly bigger stages as the competition progresses. But it’s not just compassion and assistance with vocals that Lopez provided to the season-six crew. She also drew on her years as a dancer to help with the contestants’ theatricality. “Ride the rhythm,” she told LaKisha Jones as the two shimmied side by side. J.Lo also hoped that eventual winner Jordin Sparks would infuse her performances with more hip-shaking mojo, saying, “Let the rhythm in her body just move her a little bit.” Mentoring contestants for one day, of course, is a very different task than judging them for an entire season. It remains to be seen if Lopez will channel her ’07 performance during the new season, or whether she’ll seek to stake out new territory or fill in perceived personality gaps left by the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. What is clear is that even before she became an official “Idol” employee, she understood what separates the also-rans and wannabes from the singers who make it to the very end. “When [viewers] watch you guys every night, they’re like, ‘Who’s going to give me goosebumps?,’ ” she told the final-eight. “It doesn’t necessarily mean the one who hits the highest note. It’s the one who makes them feel good.” How do you think J.Lo will do on “Idol”? Tell us in the comments! Anne Hathaway Will ‘Go There’ As Catwoman In ‘Dark Knight Rises’

‘Hathaway has longevity, a steady career arc and growth in appearing in big films,’ a studio source tells MTV News of her casting. By Kara Warner Anne Hathaway Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images Given the overwhelming, worldwide success of “Batman Begins” and, even more so, “The Dark Knight,” any time there’s news about Christopher Nolan’s third Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” it make headlines. Case in point: Wednesday’s (January 19) big announcement from Warner Bros. about the casting of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle (a.k.a. Catwoman) and the unveiling of Tom Hardy’s role as the formidable, villainous Bane. Regarding Hathaway’s casting, who has been linked to the film via various rumors that started last November, a source at Warner Bros. told MTV News that the “Love & Other Drugs” star is a great choice to play the femme fatale. “She definitely has the [acting] chops,” the studio source said. “She can ‘go there’ with this role. Obviously, Chris [Nolan] sees something in her that’s fantastic that we haven’t seen or have seen … plus Hathaway has longevity, a steady career arc and growth in appearing in big films.” Hathaway is, after all, an Oscar-nominated actress (in 2009, for her performance in “Rachel Getting Married”). She first captured the hearts of young girls everywhere in Disney films like “The Princess Diaries” and “Ella Enchanted,” which showcased both a feminine vulnerability and modern, sassy takes on the traditional “princess” stereotype. From there, Hathaway’s highlights include a supporting role in “Brokeback Mountain”; the action/comedy “Get Smart,” where we saw her more mature, sexy side as Agent 99, the perfect foil to Steve Carell’s bumbling Maxwell Smart; a starring role in “The Devil Wears Prada,” opposite Meryl Streep; and her darker, subversive and ultimately award-worthy performance in “Rachel.” So, in looking at Hathaway’s r

Brooklyn Decker opts for the tried and true “naked hot girl covered by a sheet while kneeling pose” on the cover of the new Esquire . She does well with it, too. It’s good to be Brook. Not only is she married to tennis star Andy Roddick, she made her film debut in the Adam Sandler phone-it-in wonder Just Go with It . On second thought, so did Heidi Montag . Never mind. In any case, she’s seen here doing what she does best, wearing very little and looking very good. Enjoy some of Esquire’s nice Brooklyn Decker pictures …

Exclusive: Ashley Greene’s ‘Skateland’ Trailer Debuts

Indie drama features ‘Twilight’ star in ’80s-era coming-of-age story. By Eric Ditzian Shiloh Fernandez and Ashley Greene in “Skateland” Photo: Freestyle Releasing Around this time last year, in the run-up to the Sundance Film Festival, the first official photos for Ashley Greene’s ’80s-era drama “Skateland” hit the Web. Almost a year later, as Sundance once again approaches, the first official trailer from the indie is here — and MTV News has got the exclusive. Hitting theaters on March 25, the film tells a coming-of-age story about a group of teens killing time and drinking beer in a dusty Texas town, attempting to push off the looming responsibilities of adulthood. But both an out-of-nowhere tragedy and the impending closure of the local hangout that gives the film its name interrupt the friends’ lazy lifestyles, forcing them to reevaluate their choices. “It was a time when life was easy,” the title cards read. “Sometimes the party has to end, before real life begins.” “It follows us through all the trials and errors of becoming an adult and figuring out who you are and what you want,” Greene explained to MTV News last year. “You see love and you see loss and everything in between.” What you also see is Greene as you may never have viewed her before: Stripped of the pale skin and golden eyes her character possesses in the “Twilight” series, she’s able to play a normal, relatable teen, albeit one whose teenage years took place several decades in the past and who rocks some old-school duds. “Every time I look at it, what I notice the most is how much I look like my mom,” Greene said. “Because, you know, it’s set in the ’80s and so I’ve got pictures of her and my dad from the ’80s and it’s kind of creepy how much we look alike.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Skateland.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Katie Price and Alex Reid: It’s Pretty Much Over

Katie Price and Alex Reid are calling it quits after less than a year of marriage. At least it sounds like she is, from this long-winded, tangential statement. Whether Alex is aware of or willing to acknowledge the split is unclear. The supermodel and the cross-dressing cage fighter got together shortly after her divorce from Peter Andre. She then married Alex Reid early in 2010. Things fell apart shortly thereafter. For a LONG explanation of why , and a synopsis of where things stand right now, we turn it over to Katie herself … MOSTLY SPLIT UP : Katie Price and Alex Reid are over … at least she thinks so.
