Justin Guarini Lives! (On Broadway?)

American Idol cynics bug you with revisionist history. They caw, “I mean, Idol gave us Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, but they also gave us ( sniff, cackle ) Justin Guarini.” The butterscotch Afro was tired, sure, but hear this: Guarini’s talent has always stood for itself, and American Idol wouldn’t have been compelling in its inaugural season without him. Now, he’s finally getting his comeuppance on the Great White Way.

A Roller Coaster

Hey everyone! I know it’s been awhile since my last update to the blog. The last few months have been one of the wildest rides ever and I want to thank so many of you for your tremendous support and for sticking with me through so many of these experiences. Just a quick update on some things: I continue to be proud to write for The Daily Beast . It’s provided a unique opportunity to write on some serious and some not so serious topics. I love doing it and I love that it allows me to express myself in some entertaining ways. And, I’m thrilled to hear from so many of you that you appreciate the humor and perspective of these articles. As some may have heard, I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to write another book and will have more to share on this in the coming weeks. I think it will surprise a lot of people. It’s going to be more thought provoking than some of my critics may realize. I like surprising people and this project certainly will. This past weekend, I spoke at the Log Cabin Republicans convention in Washington, DC. I realize that there’s been a lot of media coverage of how it went. I am very proud to have the opportunity to speak on how the Republican Party can continue to find ways to be more inclusive and return to its core values and beliefs. Some photos from the weekend are below. Between writing for The Daily Beast and working on the book, I haven’t had as much time as expected to keep the Blogette updated. I’ll try my best to do better, but you can always follow me on Twitter . Be warned, it’s me uncensored and it’s alot of random thoughts and vents. If that’s your thing, you’ll enjoy it. If not, I understand. You’ll want to keep this site bookmarked then for future updates. I was also very thankful to have this site recognized recently with two distinguished awards in politics. McCainBlogette.com recently received the Golden Dot Award for Best Blog – Candidate for Local, State or Federal Office from the 2009 Politics Online Conference. We also won two Pollie Awards from the Association of Political and Public Affairs Professionals. That’s incredible and thanks to both organizations for these honors. Lastly, I want to thank you all again for your faith in what’s happening with my life at this point. Most of the messages (nearly 90%) I receive on a daily basis provide enormous motivation and support during what can be a bewildering experience. The ones that don’t, well like I said, I think you’re going to be surprised. Love, Meghan Song of the Day: “Don’t Trust Me” by 3OH!3

The Colbert Report

Hey everyone! What a crazy four weeks. I love hearing from so many of you via Twitter and I appreciate the kind words of encouragement everyone keeps sending to the site. They all mean so much to me especially while traveling which is all I seem to ever do these days. I had a great time on The Colbert Report last night (picture from their green room is to the right). I was super nervous because I wasn’t quite sure how Stephen’s “character” would behave, but it turned out to be both exhillerating and fun. I even got some shout outs to CC Skye and my friend Val from California. Special thanks to Stephen and his entire staff. They really made me feel so welcome and I appreciate everything they did. I’m always a little surprised to see what the media (and the blogosphere) latch onto after I write an article for The Daily Beast or make an appearance on a show like Colbert. Of course, the current frenzy seems to be all over my “pro-sex” comments a few weeks ago on the Beast. Obviously, the most sensational part of anything is what sells, But I am very happy that these things always bring new viewers and readers into what I’m working on. That’s evidenced by the feedback I get. I’m always encouraged by the positive comments from so many about changing what it means to be a Republican by simply speaking out. Some of you know it can be tough because there’s lots of people who are ready to criticize that message, but I know anything worth fighting for isn’t easy. Thanks always for your support. I’ll be finally getting settled in New York City over the next few weeks and will have more interesting things to report on. In the meantime, enjoy the holiday weekend and hooray for summer! Lady Gaga Bird Faced and Tanning of the Day

I love these stalker pictures because it makes me feel like I am in on the perverted peeping tom, only I don’t get the thousands of dollars for getting the picture, I just get to look at them….not that I like looking at pictures of Lady Gaga ever, especially when they pretty much show nothing but Gaga’s weird weak-chinned, big-nosed, bird face, but she is covered up in a fucking t-shirt so that her shitty pasty skin doesn’t get a fucking burn or some shit and that is something worth celebrating, because I don’t want to see Gaga naked, I find her a monster with no sex appeal and I hate that she already pollutes our lives with her disgusting half naked body, so it’s nice to see that in her downtime, she knows shit is really fucking inappropriate and that no one really wants to see her disgustingness, while I thought she was fame-hungry enough to be fisting her ass and playing with her balls while clamping her sloppy tits to get noticed….but I guess she’s finally getting broken down by all the attention and is tired of living her lie, so it’s just a matter of time before she is forgotten which will end with her suicide…cuz she’s cliche and thinks that’s poetic and I’m happy about that, cuz I’m ready for Gaga to end. Here are some pics of her getting off the boat I wish sank when she was on it – and she’s back in costume – living her lie – pantsless…. Pics via PacificCoastNews
