Florida Residents Organize “Halloween Hoodie Campaign” Honoring Trayvon Martin A group of Floridians are planning a campaign in an effort to stop the stereotyping that led to the death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin earlier this year when he as gunned down by self-appointed neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman. via The Grio Still haven’t decided on a costume for Halloween this year? Two Miami residents are encouraging people to wear hooded sweatshirts in their “Halloween Hoodie Campaign” to protest stereotyping after the controversial shooting death of fellow Floridian, Ttayvon Martin earlier this year. The 17-year-old was wearing a hoodie when he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman who confronted Martin as he walked home from a 7-Eleven in the Orlando suburb of Sanford. After the death of Trayvon Martin, many supporters of the Martin family wore hoodies and posted photos to show their support, including the entire Miami Heat team. Good to know people out in Florida are staying on top of the cause. Will you be rocking your hoodie this Halloween in honor of Trayvon?

Kimmy Cakes is still out in Miami filming season 2 of her reality show with her sister Kourtney and was spotted once again in this free-flowing, baggy get up while out at lunch with her other sister Khloe….except this time, she appears to be holding her stomach, you know, as women often do when they have a bun in the oven. As obsessed as Kim and her fashionisto boyfriend are with flaunting her figure, we find it hard to believe that this new look of hers isn’t just a decoy to hide what’s really going on….or growing inside. Kate Upton and Justin Verlander are dating for real! Justin Verlander apparently has another reason to celebrate . So says the grandfather of the Detroit Tigers’ pitching ace. Yes, we’re serious. Celebuzz started asking around about the rumor, which first popped up in July when Kate Upton was seen cheering him on at a game . Richard Verlander, Sr., had this to say: “I heard he has been on dates with a Sports Illustrated girl. I saw a photo – she’s beautiful. They make a good looking pair because he’s a good looking man too.” “I do know he’s on the dating scene . Justin is a fine boy and whoever he ends up with is lucky. He’s not only a great baseball player, he’s a great guy.” Everybody, all together now … AWW. It’s funny, grandfathers have been known to do or say moderately embarrassing things – like trying to set you up with Miss Florida – but this might take the cake. If nothing else, he’s giving Justin Timberlake’s grandma – an occasional source of scoop on his relationship with Jessica Biel – a run for her octogenarian money. Yankee fans can at least take solace this morning in these Kate Upton photos . Sure, Verlander gets to actually date her, but these are free to look at.

Today in aint isht scumbag news… George Zimmerman Requests Trial Delay To Review School Records And Social Media Accounts Of Trayvon Martin Self-appointed neighborhood watchman scumbag George Zimmerman and his shady azz lawyers are still stalling. The trigger-happy murderer and his defense team are now requesting more time to obtain information from school records and social media accounts in a desperate attempt to paint slain teenager Trayvon Martin, who was hunted and gunned down by Zimmerman while walking home unarmed, in the worst light possible. The Grio reports: Neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman will ask a Florida judge to delay his murder trial and request that Trayvon Martin’s school records and information from the teen’s social media accounts be released. Zimmerman’s attorneys said in motions made public Monday that they expect to take between 50 and 75 depositions, and more time is needed to review all of the prosecution’s evidence. Zimmerman’s attorneys say they’ll also ask the judge to allow Martin’s school records to be subpoenaed, as well as information from his Twitter and Facebook accounts. Smh…justice for this young man and his family seems to be no where in sight.

Legal as it might be, this guy still isn’t right… And this isn’t the first time a CEO has swayed his employees vote in a major election . According to The Huffington Post: David Siegel, the founder and CEO of giant timeshare company Westgate resorts, sent an opus-like email to his workers, railing against one-percent bashing and arguing that the president’s reelection would “threaten your job.” In the email, obtained by Gawker, Siegel goes on to write: If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company. Siegel has a history of injecting himself in to critical political events. In the “The Queen of Versailles,” the documentary chronicling Siegel’s quest to obnoxiously build the biggest house in America, the Florida real estate mogul claims he was “personally responsible” for George W. Bush’s 2000 presidential victory. He also goes on to say that his tactics for helping Bush win “may not necessarily have been legal.” Siegel isn’t the first CEO to push his political preferences on his employees. Bob Murray, CEO of coal company Murray Energy, allegedly pressured his workers to donate money to the Romney campaign. Murray energy workers have also accused the company of forcing them to participate in a pro-Romney rally, give up a day’s worth of pay and face the possibility of getting fired if they didn’t. And Richard Lacks, CEO of car parts manufacturer Lacks Enterprises, urged his employees to vote for Romney on the basis of the claim that four more years of Obama would mean a boost in taxes and a decrease in pay. Talk about rocking the vote. …Siegel, who confirmed that he sent the email and that he based it off a chain email that went around before the 2008 elections. “It speaks the truth and it gives [employees] something to think about when they go to the polls,” he told Gawker. Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada: Divorced!

Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada’s marriage is over, officially. Already. They signed divorce papers and that was that. The married in a lavish ceremony July 4. This year. A Florida judge signed the couple’s papers early this morning. Per Ocho’s attorney Adam Swickle, the hearing was “very quick” and “procedural.” It only lasted “3-5 minutes” and neither Chad nor Evelyn Lozada were present. While she filed for divorce in August after Johnson was arrested for allegedly assaulting her, it took the NFL star a month to give in and file for divorce himself . Their nuptials were chronicled in the VH1 reality show Ev and Ocho , which was axed before it even aired in the aftermath of Johnson’s domestic violence arrest . Lozado began divorce proceedings just two days after the incident, to which he’s pleaded not guilty. Johnson, contrarily, got a big tattoo of Ev’s face. Her face . Neither has commented on the divorce, but Chad’s back doing what he does best – posting pics of himself on Twitter – and Lozada took to the social network as well. “Oh what a GREAT morning!!!” she wrote. But I can’t teach you my swag… Denzel Washington Covers GQ Magazine Veteran Hollyweird man-candy Denzel Washington is showing these young bucks that he’s still got it. The Oscar-Award winning actor graces the cover of October’s issue of GQ magazine and talks that talk about who influences him as an actor, who he’d want to play him in a biopic and offers some words of wisdom to live by. Check out a few excerpts from the interview below: Is there an actor who has influenced you? There’s a scene in The Godfather II. De Niro’s in a theater. And he’s looking back. It’s just a look. I don’t think I’ve ever imitated another actor, but there’s nothing wrong with learning from them. Do you have any code you live by? I read from the Bible every day, and I read my Daily Word. I read something great yesterday. It said, “Don’t aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference.” We interrupt this interview for a moment of silence to marvel at this masterpiece of a man… Ok. As you were…. In some ways, you’re a cipher. There’s not much you put out there. But that’s not my job to put stuff out there. Sidney Poitier told me this years ago: “If they see you for free all week, they won’t pay to see you on the weekend, because they feel like they’ve seen you. If you walk by the magazine section in the supermarket and they’ve known you all their life, there’s no mystery. They can’t take the ride.” My professional work is being a better actor. I don’t know how to be a celebrity. When the Denzel biopic is made, what would an actor need to have in his performance to make you say, “He got me”? That suggests I know what it is, and I don’t want to know what it is. That’s part of the mystery. It is what it is. I don’t go, “I gotta make sure I put some of that Denzel Washington-ism in the movie.” I don’t want tricks. I don’t want to lose my mojo. This man’s swag is truly timeless. These young black Hollyweirders have some pretty big shoes to fill if they plan on coming for this throne anytime soon. You’re welcome, ladies.
